Setting the Basic Alarm and Event Parameters
This topic describes how to set the basic alarm and event parameters of the MDU. You can set the alarm and event parameters flexibly to facilitate the device management and maintenance.
Specifications
To set the basic alarm parameters, run the following commands:
Run the alarm active clear command to delete the alarms that are not cleared in the system.
Run the alarm alarmlevel command to set the alarm level.
Run the alarm jitter-proof command to enable/disable the alarm jitter-proof function and set the alarm jitter-proof period.
Run the alarm output command to set the output mode of the alarm on the CLI.
To set the basic event parameters, run the following commands:
Run the event eventlevel command to set the event level.
Run the event output command to set the output mode of the event on the CLI.

Power board issue make the system reboot
Issue Description
The access equipment Huawei MA5616 was reported faulty
because this equipment reboot in randomly way, this issue affects the services, the reboots happen in order than two times everyday. This is why, the customer report this behavior like a Critical because the subscribers lose the service provided. Huawei DSLAM Version; MA5616V800R306C01B053

Handling Process
The problem is located in the power system, because the controller board was change and the issue still happen after the replacement, the procedure is determinate the manufacturing date of PDIA to know id is neccesary a urgent maintenance. Root Cause
Possible causes: -The Controller board is faulty and make this issue happen -The power supply ont the equipment is faulty -The PDIA board is faulty and is neccessary replace it (Sulfurization of the Switch on the panel of PDIA Power) When the PDIA DC power board operates in a corrosive gas environment without protection, the switch on the panel of the board is sulfurized and consequently the impedance of the switch becomes great. As a result, the switch fails and the device is powered off.
Suggestions
The maintenance of PDIA board is very important to avoid this kind of issue happen, about the rectification the next lines give a complete guide to perform this corrective action. Rectification measure: The problem can be rectified when the switch on the panel is turned on and off multiple times. After the board operates for a long period of time (two to three months), however, the similar problem will occur again. Workaround: The problem can be thoroughly resolved after the affected board is replaced with a PDIA power board manufactured after February 28 of 2010. Replacing the affected board with a board manufactured on or before February 28 of 2010 can only resolve the problem in a short period. Solutions: 1. For the new devices to be delivered An EC request was already sent to the production department on February 28 of 2010 for changing the BOM of the PDIA power board. The new power board is designed not to provide a switch. Therefore, the repeated reset problem that occurred on the original boards will not occur on the new boards. 2. For the devices used on the existing networks Huawei performs rectification measures, that is, removes the PDIA power board and inserts a short-circuiter to the switch socket, to thoroughly resolve the problem. Disposal of replaced material
00001. Materials used for rectification: Short-circuiters and panel surface mounting sheets, which will be sent to each representative office by post and then distributed to the personnel responsible for carrying out the rectification project.
00002. Materials not used after rectification: Switch cables, which are recommended to be scrapped locally.
Rectification Scope and Completion Date The rectification scope is the entire network, and the required completion date is December 31, 2010. Rectification Guide Step 1: Save the data configurations of the target device. Step 2: Power off the device, and then remove the -48 V power cable connected to the panel of the PDIA power board. Step 3: Remove the PDIA power board, remove the switch socket, and then take out the switch from the panel. Step 4: Insert the short-circuiter to the switch socket, and then mount the square-shaped surface mounting sheet on the panel. Step 5: Insert the PDIA power board into the device, power on the device with -48 V power, and then start the device. The services are restored after the device is started. Step 6: After rectification, fill in the Quality Inspection Report of Rectification of the H831PDIA Power Boardand send it to the Chinese region coordinator for the record.
