I like the idea of Zander flinching away from somebody too because normally he’s the one who’s ready to take any beating, any pain for somebody else, he’s more than used to that kind of treatment, and he always wants to look scary and look like he’s not bothered by the people around them and the way they treat him but,,,,, he gets scared too sometimes,,,,,

#Nicholas likes to intentionally make him flinch #he thinks it’s cute when Zander does it specifically #but zander still being jumpy and easily startled afterwards #and he flinches away when somebody playfully hits him or moves their hand too fast near him #the way he gets tense and anxious when he knows he’s upset somebody #even if it’s somebody he knows for a fact would never put their hands on him #I also like that one idea where he accidentally startles Alexei and gets smacked for it #little Alexei having a knee jerk reaction and smacking him and zander flinching and going tense #like he’s expecting more than just that #yeah
