I think probably one of my favourite things with Diath and Evelyn is how they each have the speech pattern that you would expect the other to have

That’s just. a really neat bit of mirroring between them.

THEIR FRIENDSHIP IS VERY IMPORTANT #AND THEIR SPEECH PATTERNS ARE ONE OF THE VERY FASCINATING ONES #because the noble-born temple-raised paladin is running around dropping 'y'all's and calling her parents 'Mama' and 'Papa'#and the street urchin who dragged himself out of the gutter is walking around with Incredibly Formal Speech Patterns #and all evidence points to him having called Ashton 'Father'#which is really the inverse of what you'd expect. and I LOVE IT #I have other thoughts about Diath's speech patterns but they're less related to his relationship with Evelyn #and more connected to headcanons that I have about his neurotype
