This has been in my inbox for so long but hey, it’s better I answer this late rather than never. Readmore below because this is going to have a lot of images.

Okay so actually, this question is complicated, because the very name “Jeremy” belongs to at least three different characters in the FNAF franchise, and even more in the books. First and foremost, “Jeremy” is the name of one of the original missing children that William killed. We see his name on the tombstones of the children, observe:

It is widely, widely speculated that Jeremy is the spirit possessing Bonnie, making Jeremy this kid in the film:

But ALSO Jeremy Fitzgerald is the name of the security guard you play as in FNAF 2 nights 1-5, and also the victim of the bite of 87. He’s the guy who lost is frontal lobe to what everyone assumes to be the mangle. We see his name on his paycheck shortly before he was bitten below.

THIRD, Jeremy is ALSO the name of one of the beta testers from Help Wanted 1. Is he the same as Jeremy from FNAF 2? Probably not. Not only would they probably not hire a guy missing an important part of his brain to test VR games (or maybe they would, idk,) I’m sure there would be a clue connecting them if they were the same person, and there isn’t. The name Jeremy just gets used a lot. It is also understood that this Jeremy died after he cut his face off with a paper slicer, as mentioned by Tape Girl. Rip

The theory I think you’re talking about, however, involves Freddy Bully. People online sometimes refer to Freddy Bully as Jeremy. Additionally, people theorize that Freddy Bully is the same as the “Laughing Kid.” Both characters are shown below.

Honestly, theorizing that these two are the same person doesn’t hurt anything. They do indeed look almost identical except for a slightly different hair color, which could always have just been an error on Scott’s part. The internet (particularly tumblr community, I’ve noticed) tends to refer to this character as Jeremy Fitzgerald. This is not confirmed, this is not even hinted at, and it’s certainly not canon. I, however, am not a hater of fun, and I have nothing against people who do this! I am aware that people sometimes ship him with Mike, and that’s totally fine! It is however not canon, and there is no evidence in the entire series that Michael Afton and Jeremy Fitzgerald ever met. It’s just a thing people do for our fun. By the time Mike got to working in the FNAF 2 location, Jeremy had already gotten his brain bitten.
