gonna go against the grain for this take but i don’t think xina should be gabriellas mom….like i feel us asian femmes are often pressured by our own community to be baby birthing rehab centres for men esp with declining birth rates within our communities and such attitudes is the reason why there’s such huge pushback against women being independent and excelling in their passions/careers in asian societies and xina is a very independent woman who i feel like would totally defy expectations of her also i just hate how femme love interests in comics get either pushed into either the madonna/mother or the treacherous femme fatale/sex kitten moulds or the manic pixie dream girl trope i just want there to be more for women characters
