An unusual phenomenon where everyone is now a baby. (Well at least those who can be so.)

I'm not really going to expand on this, but I found this dynamic between these human(?) and non-human duos to be really funny.

The noise from the kitchen woke up marion as he slowly get up and walk towards the kitchen to see what was going on. He saw the two very special people in his life, his wife and their daughter, Ionne. “Babu! you’re awake already. Ionne and I are about to cook breakfast” Alexandra said walking towards Marion and hugging him as their daughter jumped in too while shouting “GROUP HUG” as the couple giggles at their daughter's cuteness.

Afterward, the three of them sat to eat their breakfast. “Let’s go out today to celebrate mama and dada’s monthsary. Marion said while looking at Ionne “Yay!! I have a gift for mama and dada” Ionne said as she pulls out a drawing handing it to them. “Aw, baby you drew mama and dada?” Alexandra asked as Ionne nodded. The couple looked at their daughter happily.

The day passed, and they decided to go to the arcade before going home. They played a lot of games and have fun. Alexandra and Marion tried their best to get a lot of tickets to get the prize that Ionne has been wanting, but sadly they didn't make it. “Let’s just buy a plushie, come I'll let you pick whatever you want” Alexandra said trying to cheer up Ionne. After buying some toys for Ionne they decided to go home. All of them got really tired that Ionne and Alexandra fell asleep on the couch. Marion looked at his wife and daughter not realizing that he was smiling. “I’m too lucky to have a loving daughter and wife” he whispered to himself. He was so happy to be surrounded by his family. The warmth of his home comforts him, he knows one thing for sure. He’s at ease.

Speak of the Devil

Firstly, disclaimer, this is not a post about god or devil. This is just a random chain of thought I casually stumbled upon on a sleepless night.

How many of us have experienced those ‘Speak of the Devil’ moments? I, for one, have experienced it quite a few times actually. In fact, I experienced one such moment today. Though the meeting may be insignificant to this post, it was the spark that initiated this post.

A few years back when I visited my cousin, I was introduced to the internet. Back then, his family was one of the first to get the internet among my relatives. In my brief stay there I remember him showing me a video on YouTube. It spoke of some sort of a "cosmic theory” (I don’t remember the exact name).

In the video, there was this boy who wanted a cycle so badly, but then he knows that his family cannot afford a cycle. Every day he walks past a cycle store eagerly looking at the cycles. Every night before he sleeps, he looks at the drawings of cycles he has made, and he dreams about getting the cycle all along. On his next birthday, his parents get him the cycle.

The narrator goes on to explain that his constant wish for the cycle emits out from his body as waves. He said that these waves go out into the vastness of the universe, they get reflected by various objects and they return back to you. Since the waves essentially are a reflection, a constant undying need for a cycle, got the boy a cycle. “The universe gives you what you want, if you wish for it” ended the narrator. (they didn't address the part if the parents may have somehow came to know his wish, now that I think of it, it could have been a possibility)

My cousin bro told me that, whatever you want, think about it always, strongly and regularly, you will get it. "Positive thoughts give you positive things," he said. As a child, I believed him. (I didn't get my cycle though)

But now, as a student of science, the question in front of me is "Is this possible? Does it even make sense?". Well, honestly I'm not very sure. However, the nervous system in our body is a large electrical circuit. Any student of physics will tell you that where there is electricity, there is magnetism. So waves do emit out of your body, all the time. And about the part where the universe reflects your thoughts, I couldn't think of anything for that. (Do share if you can think of something)

Is it possible that your ‘Speak of the Devil’ moments are because such a phenomenon actually exists in nature? Do they show up coz you are thinking of (or talking about) them?  Do your thoughts get reflected back to you? Is it absolutely true that having positive thoughts is ultimately good for you?

We don’t know, we may never know.

Point is it doesn't really matter.

If the theory is true, you will get stuff from the universe. The universe will keep your life positive and healthy.

If not, you don’t really lose anything, do you?

01-14-18 I knew this day will be something special for us. I guess this is the first time I surprise Babu with something she doesn't have any idea about. All along she knew that we were just going to have a dinner in the Mall but I want something special today. I arrived at her place exactly the way I planned and I booked our ride as she goes down to the lobby. She had no idea that we are going to go somewhere. She was very confuse when I opened the door of the car and told her to go inside. Along the way, she kept on asking me where we are going but I never said anything aside from a couple of clues. I love seeing her getting baffled and at the same time excited. Her lips slowly drawing a smile as we arrived at the Manila Ocean Park. I saw how excited and happy she was as we entered the park. We had a wonderful dinner in one of my favorite dining place. Along the entire evening, I found myself looking into her and sometimes she noticed it. And everytime I glance, I can't resist but to fall inlove again and again. I don't know if she felt it, but there was something that evening. Something magical. Something special. Something the two of us will understand. We shared something that evening, moment and genuine happiness. The night that no one can take it away from us. It became our memory together. And when I thought nothing can get any sweeter, we walked in the park. You know, I'm always into that old school thing. I find it more romantic than anything else nowadays. We enjoyed each other's company and at that point, we were just holding our hands together and quietly walking. We dont need to utter too much words to communicate. We converse at silence with our hearts. 💙 That's for the night and I guess what happened next was ours to keep. 💙 . . . . Words by jay e

via Today Bharat nbsp; Surender Reddyrsquo;s could-have-been magnum opus is not boring. Yet, for the budget it had, the storytelling and narrative threads leave a lot to be desired. nbsp; Sye Raa Narasimha Reddy is a period drama that follows our standard template: a hero who is larger than life faced with an insurmountable problem that is larger than life. There are supporting roles which feed the herorsquo;s larger than life image and make it larger than the already larger than life image. Based on Uyyalawada Narasimha Reddyrsquo;s heroic tale from the mid-18th century, the movie makes some interesting decisions. Drama is one of them. A 10-minute nationalistic fervour to close the screenplay is another. They could have done away with both, for the protagonistrsquo;s story already had enough thump in it. Sye Raa Narasimha Reddy has two distinct parts. A majority of the movie, true to the story, is about his armed rebellion at the helm of a band of peasants against the British East India Company. Most of the movie therefore steers clear of nationalistic clarion calls or from invoking patriotic fervour (the promotion and the teaser do lead us to believe the movie is largely about that, but it isnrsquo;t). As the story goes, Narasimha Reddy stirs a rebellion of the peasants and local satraps against the agrarian taxation and other laws with respect to their land rights brought into effect by the Britishers. He indulges in successful looting of their treasury, even winning a battle or two on the way, reclaiming the farmersrsquo; grain that had been plundered from them. Narasimha Reddy, whose stories are folklore in the Rayalaseema region, did evoke fear in the British and escaped arrest for a long time, leading a few successful campaigns as well. (You donrsquo;t put the severed head of a leader on display for three decades, unless he has done something tremendously great. So, sure, the Britishers did loathe him.) The movie sadly doesnrsquo;t give itself the opportunity to go beyond the Wikipedia information to explore the social conditions ndash; blame it on the oft-beaten theme that most of us barely find British cruelty of those times novel. Distressed farmers, children crying for food, men burnt alive or hanged, villages pillaged, British accent, ruthless power, the stereotypical Indians loyalist to the Company officers while praising the Indian heroes ndash; all of these are tropes the average moviegoer knows like the back of his hand. Narasimha Reddy himself doesnrsquo;t really shine through ndash; yes, he saves people, makes horses listen to him, and is generally kind, but once again, his character arc becomes a classic stereotype. Tamannaah (as Lakshmi) gets a meaty role as a dancer who is in love with Narasimha Reddy. Just when you wonder whether she was a mere showpiece, the scriptwriters give her role an important twist. Her contribution, coupled with the nod to tribal women battling alongside Narasimha Reddy, show how our filmmakers are trying (albeit not so convincingly) to course-correct from their patriarchal mindset. Nayanthara plays Siddhamma, the protagonistrsquo;s wife, the two married as children and then kept away for decades because of astrology, before being brought together when the elders decide. Things like that make you wonder how even celebrated men of the times were part of enormously entrenched patriarchal systems of yore. Nayanthararsquo;s role is largely about being the dutiful wife who adores her husband, while being decked in heavy clothing and ornamentation. Oh yes, and for a childbirth scene exactly when there is enemy at the gates and cannon blasting through the ramparts of the fort. We have a penchant for earth-shattering drama, donrsquo;t we? The second half of the movie is predominantly one battle scene after the other shot with enormous creative liberties. It is hard to imagine our history completely ignored battles of the scale depicted in the movie. This is where it is hard for the common viewer to draw lines between reality and myth. You may read a little more on Narasimha Reddyrsquo;s rebellion here and make your own judgment on whether it was an armed rebellion of peasants (which is the storyline the movie maintains for long parts) or the first unsung battle of independence (which is how the movie ends). The stellar cast of the movie barely leaves any scope for the likes of Amitabh Bachchan (insignificant role) and Vijay Sethupathy (wasted) to make a dent. But the character that really stands out for its complex shades is that of Avuku Raju, done brilliantly by Sudeep. The movie springs several plot surprises, interesting ones too, that prevent the story from turning into a completely predictable bore. Jagapathi Babu as always stands out amongst the support cast. However, the drama ndash; some of it apocryphal, the whole charade of following the tradition of lighting a lamp on the hill, for example ndash; takes away from the real story. Chiranjeevi as the venerated central character shows he has screen presence and can own the frames. The movie uses numerous action scenes to further his legend (even though by now most of us can make out the difference between the hero and the stunt double). Nevertheless, kudos to Greg Powell, Lee Whittaker and Ram-Laxman for pulling off spectacular stunts, smooth, stylish and non-monotonous despite the excessive usage of freeze-frames and slow-mos. The cinematography by Rathnavelu too ensures that the grandeur of the movie ndash; whether in the night battle scenes or in the peremptory festival celebration songs ndash; sparkles through. The BGM/songs are not really breathtaking but average; thatrsquo;s a disappointment considering it was someone of the stature of Amit Trivedi along with Julius Packiam who was entrusted with the task. However, one would have hoped for better dialogues for a hero known for his versatile acting prowess. The ending monologue is soulless despite the opportunity to leave us with lasting dialogues. Thankfully, really thankfully, the movie doesnrsquo;t overdo the climax ndash; the public hanging of Narasimha Reddy. Part of the reason is that the movie constantly betrays a paranoia of becoming too long to be interesting. That explains the patchy editing too. All this saved time is drained into building the heroism and slow-mo stunts of the protagonist ndash; enjoyable but not novel in any way. Surender Reddyrsquo;s could-have-been magnum opus, all in all, is not boring. It goes up and down, blows hot and cold. Yet, for the kind of budget it had, the moviersquo;s storytelling and narrative threads leave a lot to be desired. The screenplay isnrsquo;t a bad job but somewhere there is a lack of clarity as to what it wanted to become ndash; a war movie or a social period nationalistic drama. I had wondered at one point if the director would have the courage to give it a Tarantino-esque anti-history twist as in Inglourious Basterds. Chiranjeevi still remains a man who can helm a magnanimous tale but unless our writing goes deeper and becomes more layered, we will be stuck with superficially slick and intellectually mediocre projects such as these.
