So tonight I finally started playing pkmn sword because I cleared UltraMoon recently and I’ve been SO excited to start, already sensed that Victor is at the high tiers of favorite and Hop/Victor is OTP and what can I say, I’m about 2.5 hours in after playing pretty much without pause, and my sense was RIGHT and I’m having a great time so far, I’m enjoying it immensely, I love everything about it and I couldn’t stop giggling pretty much the whole time (well, through all the events at least dgsfdgf)

a hop x musican!reader where the reader makes a love song for hop and they sing it for him and hop gets all flustered and the ending is just v fluffy uwu
Hi, hello, yes? This was so cute! Soo I wrote my own little love song for this, and it may or may not be bad because I'm not a songwriter by any means. I just wanted it to be more personal rather than grabbing a song that already exists. Also made a drabble for this because I got pretty inspired. I hope you enjoy!
🐑 Confessing to Hop with a song 🐑
It was a nice day in the Wild Area. Not too warm, nor was it too cold. A soft breeze blew through your hair, it felt pleasant.
You sat in the shade of a tree, your recently hatched Grookey had succumbed to your head scratches and had fallen asleep all curled up in a little bundle in your lap.
Your Toxtricity raced the vast fields against Hop's Cinderace, while your Sylveon and Maractus seemed to be fascinated with the fluffiness of your friend's Dubwool.
A little further away from you, Hop jotted down some notes about your Primarina and Spinda. You couldn't help but smile at the amount of interest and passion Hop displayed about studying various pokémon. You supposed that any pokémon professor, or future ones, would be interested in non-native pokémon as they were rare. You had obtained them by trading globally with a friend overseas in Alola.
Hop often playfully teased you for having a team filled with music-themed pokémon, but it was all harmless. He truly thought that there were no better pokémon for you than the ones that accompanied you.
Yes… the peaceful and pleasant atmosphere of nature was the complete opposite of the whirlwind of emotions that coursed through your mind.
When you looked at your friend, all you could do was bite your lip in sheer nerves at the thought of the true reason that you had invited him to the Wild Area. It was most certainly not just for a playdate between your pokémon.
Your fingers traced your ukulele, which rested next to you. The real reason that you wanted Hop all to yourself in the Wild Area, was because you had finally worked up the courage to confess your feelings to him.
Well, you thought that you had built up the courage. The more you waited, the more you second-guessed yourself, wondering if it was such a good idea to do so.
You were so lost in thought that you had not noticed your Sylveon approach you until he wrapped one of his feelers around your arm.
You glanced at him, only to find him looking at you with a soft expression, smiling at you reassuringly.
You returned his smile. "I know… I'm just nervous. What if-"
Your sentence was cut off by Sylveon, who pressed his feeler against your mouth, shaking his head slightly.
You sighed, nodding in acceptance as he removed the ribbon-like appendage. You picked up the sleeping baby from your lap, handing him to Sylveon. He gently took Grookey, holding him with his feelers.
"Take care of him while I… well, you know," you said.
Sylveon nodded as he giggled at you, sending you a wink before trotting away. You shook your head at how eager Sylveon seemed to be for you to confess.
You exhaled shakily before looking in Hop's direction once more. "Heya, Hop? Could you come here for a minute?"
Hop looked behind his shoulder, grinning before standing up and heading your way. You felt your heart speed up, there was no going back now.
"What's up, (name)?" Hop asked.
You pat the ground next to you, prompting him to sit down. He did as you requested.
He placed his hand on your shoulder, making you jump slightly. "Hey… are you feeling alright? You're shaking," he said, his eyes held worry.
You smiled to the best of your abilities, waving him off. "I'm fine, don't worry about me."
He didn't seem to believe you, but he let it go nonetheless. "Alright… so, what did you call me over for?"
"Oh, right! Well, you see… I wrote a new song and I… I wanted your opinion on it," you said.
Hop grinned. "My opinion? Come on, you know I think all of your songs are bloody brilliant! Heck, even Piers has you going on tour with him. You don't need me for that."
"You're giving me too much credit, Hop. I'm not that brilliant," you said with a small smile.
"Rubbish! Stop being so modest, mate."
"Well, no matter. The thing is… this particular song is about… well, it's about you, Hop," you said softly, trying your best to force away the blush that threatened to appear.
Hop blinked, a surprised look on his face. He most definitely wasn't expecting you to write something for him.
He scratched the back of his head, a light blush on his cheeks as he shyly smiled. "A-About me? I hope it's about good things, yeah?"
You picked up your ukulele, getting into position to play. "Of course, Hop! W-Why don't I sing it to you?"
Hop turned his body towards you, his attention fully on you as he smiled and nodded.
You returned his smile and began strumming a soft melody with your instrument. There was definitely no backing away from this now.
"We've known each other for so long. You've always been that cute rambunctious boy next door. So full of life and energy, ambitious and confident. You've always enthralled me."
Before you truly became trainers, you had always admired Hop from afar. His personality stood out so much compared to the rest of the easygoing residents of Postwick. His energy was contagious, you had always thought that he would achieve great things in life. He had too much going for him to not.
"And me, a small-town musician, always strumming in the fields. I still remember your first hello, and I still wonder: how did I ever get your attention? You're a million leagues above me."
Hop smiled as he remembered the first time the two of you truly spoke. You were always out in the pastures, surrounded by all of the Wooloo, singing and playing various instruments. Sometimes, you would be playing the guitar, other times, you would be playing the ukulele or even the violin. You always brought peaceful tunes to the town. And your voice... he remembered just how beautiful he thought your voice was. He always listened from afar, until he couldn't take it anymore, he had to say something… anything to you.
As for you, when Hop had come up to you, applauding your performance, you couldn't believe it. Postwick's famous bundle of energy was actually giving you the time of day? Wasn't he always with that girl, Gloria? She had so much more going for herself than you, being a little spitfire and all. So why was Hop wasting his time with you?
"But grateful as I am to have braved the world with you by my side, there's still something missing."
You bit your lip. This was where your song would get much bolder. This was where you were going to pour all of your feelings out to Hop.
You reluctantly took a peek at Hop's expression. He looked… happy. He sat on his knees, leaning forward as if he was anticipating what you were going to sing next. His cheeks had become a darker shade of crimson.
You smiled, a giddy feeling overtaking you as your own blush surfaced.
"Perhaps it's your hand slipped in mind? Or maybe it's your arms around my waist? Let me sing you this…"
Hop's eyes widened. He felt his heart pound against his chest at your words. He couldn't believe what he was hearing, it was too good to be true.
"You make me stutter, my face feels hotter, thoughts all scattered. Why am I so flustered?"
It was true. To you, It was almost frustrating just how much Hop could make you go mad with a single smile. Every little touch and compliment made you melt into a pile of feelings onto the ground. It made you feel ridiculous, yet elevated.
"My heart, it's drumming, booming, yet it's beaming!"
You bit your lip as you reached the part of that part of your song. The part where those three little words would be said. Three simple, yet deep words.
"A constant flurry of emotions when you're near. It's clear, I'm in love, I fear."
You couldn't hold back your little giggle as you heard Hop gasp. Looking at him once more, be was red from the base of his neck all the way to the very tip of his ears. You couldn't help but hope that it was a good sign, and something told you that it was. He didn't look like he was uncomfortable with your confession. That hope alone made you want to keep going until the end.
You looked him straight into his eyes, smiling softly as you sang the next part.
"I cherish you, I treasure you, I adore you, I love you. I'm incomplete without you!"
Hop could barely believe it. He's been crushing on your for so long, yet he's always pushed his feelings for you down as he thought that you held feelings for someone else. Yet here you were, singing your love for him. Perhaps that, by denying his own love for you, he had become blind to yours. He wasn't sure, and quite frankly, he didn't care. He felt beyond relieved. It was as if all of the feelings he had suppressed came flooding out of a broken dam.
As the song came to a close, the tune became much softer and slower.
"And if you'll let me, I'll be yours forever. Because I'd love you to be by my side in a shared happily ever after."
"So… what did you think?" You asked shyly as you set you ukulele down.
Hop's mouth opened and closed, absolutely unable to form words. He rubbed his cheeks as if attempting to get rid of his intense blush.
"I… I just- that was…" he shook his head, taking a deep breath.
"Did you really mean that?" He asked, biting his lip, eyes glimmering with hope.
"Every single word of it," you said, barely in a whisper.
Hop's eyes widened. He fiddled with the sleeves of his jacket, the dorkiest smile widening on his face.
"I'm sorry if it was too much. I just-"
"Too much? T-That was perfect, (name)," he cut you off.
He wrapped his arms around you, pulling you against his chest. You instantly melted in his arms, resting your hands on his back.
"I'm just so happy that you actually feel the same way," he whispered.
You couldn't help the soft laugh that escaped you. "Literally everyone knew about my feelings for you, except for you. I thought I made it pretty obvious."
He pulled away, scratching the back of his head apologetically. "Sorry… I guess I'm just as dense as my brother, huh?"
"Yes. You are," you said as you leaned forward to peck his cheek.
The blush that had finally gone away reappeared within mere nanoseconds. Hop blurted incoherent nonsense as he was caught off guard by your kiss.
You blinked. It was just an innocent cheek smooch. Oh well, Hop was acting adorable, and you knew that this was the start of something beautiful.
