A new term has begun. Time for Turn of the Century and WWI Brit Lit!
And then there’s Ulysses ready to end my literary career before I’ve even started.
#in the first week#it's only one chapter thank God or else how and what#dubliners was not bad will I get dragged to hell if I say I like Virginia Woolf more?#pretty sure Woolf did NOT like Joyce if I remember correctly#I'm going to do something with Well of Loneliness if I'm allowed since it's the right time period#I used some of Virginia Woolf's writing in my last major paper so I wanted to do something else#also after reading the back of WoL I realize that it probably looks like I'm writing bad Radcylffe Hall fanfiction during my NaNoWriMo#because apparently butch feral horsegirl was a Victorian archetype that has been lost to time#can we bring that back?#and it's an excuse to read about more historic lesbians#because I already have some articles to use#grad school#I read Well of Loneliness in 2012 when I read solidly just LGBT novels aside from my class work#so it's been a while#and I'm pretty sure it's going to be depressing as hell#but maybe I'll come up with something interesting to say#james Joyce#modern brit lit#Irish lit#WWI lit#early 20th century#currently reading#bookblr#books
