#I think- and I'm sure this isn't that unpopular of an opinion- that american girl has been putting too much focus on their contemporary

Love looking up the actresses who starred in American Girl movies back when they made those and seeing what they've been in since then.
Felicity? Yeah she starred in The Fault in Our Stars and the Divergent movies apparently.
Kit? Yeah Abigail Breslin has been in a million things because, well, it's Abigail Breslin but uh she's one of the main people in the Zombieland movies
Samantha? Can't remember anything recently but she was Leslie in Bridge to Terabithia.
Melody? She's been in so many things like Black-ish and the new Proud Family. Really making a name for herself and all that.
Grace? Olivia Rodrigo.
#No because the (not literal) whiplash I got years ago when I was like#'huh Olivia Rodrigo looks kinda.... Familiar??? Let me look her up- GRACE THOMAS?????'#Off topic but I love how the last american girl movie they did that wasn't just on amazon prime was the Lea movie#Which- if you ask any ag fan they'll tell you- absolutely sucks and is nothing like the book At All#And then they did the Maryellen one for prime which was okay#And the melody one I quite liked but I haven't read the books to compare yet#And the Ivy one is accurate based on what I know of the Ivy book (because I read Julie's books but I never got around to the Ivy one)#And then Z? I don't know what the fuck happened there#Seriously what the fuck happened there#The books are about a young aspiring director in Seattle trying to make a short film for a film festival. The movie? Summer camp???????#my posts#american girl#I think that there are so many historical characters stories that would do so well as a movie.#For starter: CAROLINE!???#Literally her story is probably one of the more adventurous ones. It would slay so much#Or Addy??? Rebecca?????? Josefina?????? I fuckin love Josefina's story#I think- and I'm sure this isn't that unpopular of an opinion- that american girl has been putting too much focus on their contemporary#characters and not enough on the historical characters#And also I think they should bring back Kirsten but maybe that's just me#However: I do think a Tenney movie would slay#Gosh I miss Tenney. Sad I never got around to getting her#Might try ebay...#Anyway that's it for today's 'Abe rants about their special interest' see you later

For all that they talk about GRRM being anti-war, anti-monarchy and anti-feudalism, they love neglecting to mention that he’s anti-Catholicism.
Disclaimer: if in any way I come across as agressive, it's not at all directed at you anon, I'm speaking very generally here, thank you for your ask💖
Listen. The sheer notion of "anti-war" is the stupidest of the stupidest political/moral/ethical attitudes that someone could have. I know this is an unpopular opinion, but someone needs to say it. "Anti-war" doesn't mean ANYTHING. Anti-which war exactly? You need to be specific. Not all wars are the same, not all wars are created equal, there are some wars that need to happen, that are fair, and some wars that shouldn't happen. Yes of course, it depends on where you're standing. But it always does, that's life. And of course in every war there are people suffering, but that's life again. If the enemy comes at your doorstep and wants to destroy you and everything you love or if you have been violently evicted from your homeland, what will you say exactly? Hunie I ain't doin' anything about dat cause I'm anti-war? Lol. No. The "anti-war" agenda is only relevant for privileged, white Americans and Europeans thinking they are Americans, who haven't felt threatened once in their life, who haven't lost anything, who don't know anything about human history and think that the solution to every problem on planet earth is peace and love. No.
GRRM definitely isn't anti war. There is no way a person that dedicates decades of his life reading and writing about brave warriors is anti war. Sure he's "anti- war" in the sense that he doesn't particularly fancy going out with a sword decapitating people, but he's not anti war in any fundamental way. And newsflash, none of the fans of these shows/books are. We're literally dedicating years of our lives reading about war and watching war happen and supporting aristocrats that lead their people to war. That's literally the plot of the story. So no, in real life I'm not anti war, and in the ASOIAF universe I'm definitely not anti war. All of my favourite characters are warriors and/or leaders to battle, Jon, Jaime, Dany, Stanis, Brienne. It's exactly the same thing in any fantasy story. Watching a fantasy story about warriors and being anti war is the most idiotic thing you can do. Go watch Gilmore Girls. Unfortunately, people who should have stuck to Gilmore Girls ended up watching GoT because of its popularity, and that's the very reason we have the Anti-Targaryen phenomenon.
The same for anti monarchy. Like, I don't particularly approve of monarchy, my country has no monarchy because we literally chased the monarch away, thank god, and I don't think it's a good model of political structure in any country. That doesn't mean that I don't acknowledge that Europeans lived with that for centuries. Some monarchs/emperors literally changed history for the better. They conquered, they educated, they revolutionised, they made progress, they broke centuries of tradition. I don't see monarchy, again, through the lense of the privileged American who thinks their country discovered democracy and scorns any other political system because they just know better. No honey you don't, and you didn't discover shit. Magna Carta was created under Monarchy. The Catholicism received it's fatal blow because of a Monarch. Women and bastards gained power and legitimacy because one day a female bastard decided that she could be a better Queen than her brother or her perfect religious female cousin. Cities and schools were created by monarchs. Scientific progress that changed the world was funded by Monarchs. They also did terrible things, they are also responsible for destruction, slavery, misery. But perfectly democratic leaders side eyeing literally every single President of the USA ever also did all of the above. My whole point is, you can be "anti monarchy" if you don't like the way it works, that's fine, I am as well, but if you think that every single Monarch in history was just a "bad person" and you don't acknowledge the value and impact of certain rulers and certain periods of human history then you're simply illiterate. Again, people who think that way somehow ended up watching Game of Thrones, a show about Monarchs, and again, that explains the Targaryen hate. Watching a show that tells the story of Monarchs and Aristocrats doing vile and great/heroic deeds and being "Anti-monarchy"? Sure, you can be, but what is the point of that observation in that context exactly? It makes you look like a fool.
About anti Catholicism. Sure the faith of the seven has clear parallels to the Catholicism, the Great Sparrow was a character that came straight from the Inquisition, the Hightowers are pious little hypocrites that hate women and demonize sex and bastards. The parallel is there. In that particular aspect I do think GRRM consistently shows obsessing over religion as something inherently bad in his universe but it's really not that important because religion is not the focus of the story. Power is. The Hightowers' problem is not that they are religious, even though that makes them even more unlikeable. Their problem is that they are greedy MFs that started a war for nothing and they destroyed an entire realm because they preferred that than to see a ruler with a vagina on the Iron Throne. So it's not about religion exactly, it's about a unfair war (a war motivated by greed and treason) versus a fair war (a war motivated by the need to reclaim what has been taken from you by force and treachery). GRRM is definitely anti Catholicism though, that much is certain, but religion has a secondary role in his universe any way.

Unpopular LGBTQ+ opinions, from someone who is trans/gender-nonconforming and queer…
Content Warning: potentially triggering topics below regarding physical and social dysphoria
Hot Take: Amab Women/Transfemmes should not compete with Afab Women/Femme-presenting athletes. Please hear me out…
I think the same goes for afab Men/Transmascs with Amab Men/masc-presenting. Simply because, despite all the other social hurt-feeling Christian bullshit surrounding Republican ideas, there is one core concept that cannot be ignored…
Amab people have higher athletic performance averages than afab people. You see it in P.E. scores… guys have to have a 12 minute mile and girls have to have a 14 minute mile, etc etc… there's evolutionary evidence and scientific research behind these numbers, and while the binary addressing and social treatment of these numbers is pretty much all bullshit, the numbers still exist.
"But there are plenty of cis/afab women who outperform cis/amab men"
But why of course. But this isn't about individuals, this is about averages, averages that have long since been acknowledged which is why we have the separately gendered football/american soccer teams, track teams, etc…
This is where people get pissed at me from both sides. Ready? Here it is…
Do away with the gendered bullshit all together. No women's team or men's team that is inherently binary and ineffectual.
Women and men (afab and amab people) have different body types and structures, even after surgery and hormone treatment. But team sports should have room for both types of bodies… shorter, stouter bodies and abilities have certain positions in American sports like football and baseball, and I'm sure there's other sports likewise. I'm track/field there's pole vaulters and hurdle jumpers, sprinters and long distance.
We see it all the time in wrestling, both traditional wrestling teams and performance wrestling like the WWE. Wrestlers are determined by weight class and ability, not gender. You see Rhea Ripley absolutely floor men, and vice versa. Why can't all sports be determined this way, by physique and skill alone?
Tl;dr, body types and physical structure based on sex defined at birth cannot be ignored in an environment dependent on physical ability. This does not mean to deny trans people ability to identify the way they want or to play on the teams/in the sports that they want, but rather to eliminate the topic of gender altogether and make a unisex world of sports where physical capacity is the only deciding factor in an athlete's scoring, standing and team position.

[ask] I want all the drama. (I'll also answer them)
Which fandom do you hate the most and why?
For me it's a tie between Loona stans and Armys. For Loona it was so annoying to see the "Stan Loona" everywhere on Twitter and even under posts where someone passed away. And Armys are just too intense and creepy haha
Which group + fandom do you think is the most problematic?
For problematic group I'll go with NCT. They're a big big group so you'll have a lot of members that can fuck up. And most of of them have a ignorant/traditional mindset. But if we're talking illegally problematic, probably Big Bang. And for fandom, I also give that point to Armys or the Enhypen fans. Armys are huge so they'll bury everything negative about BTS, one of then could commit murder atp and you'll have the searches filled with "Yoongi Best Boy". And for the Enhypen stans: someone recently in the group said the n-slur and the fans are attacking and being racist towards black fans
What idol do you think is overrated?
Cha Eunwoo. He truly does nothing for me and he's only so popular because he's handsome + the image of the flower boy with no personality, where fans project their fantasies onto him
Who's an idol you would never want to be alone with and why?
He's not an idol anymore but probably Zico. He seems so sleezy and I still believe that he was more involved with the Burning Sun/Golden phone scandal.
The worst comback?
The last two comebacks of BTS are bad. Although I prefer Butter over Dynamite. But the remix of Butter is ass.
An unpopular opinion you have about Kpop?
Not so unpopular anymore but the phrase stuck with me on twt: "an idol is just a pretend bf/gf, who makes music"
I also wish you a speedy recovery🍄
this was so creative!!! thank you for this. Hope more anons follow suit! And I agree about Zico he's a fuckboy. He makes Drake look like a saint cause at least drake (the rapper) will dote on you, put you on and give you some $$$ and a gift. Zico seems like pump and dump. Seolhyun, I mean, go get that hook up fun girl but damn. Of all the people she could be spotted running to... him. I know for a fact that somewhat lowered her stock. Men do pay attention to who the "hot" it girls go for in the industry american and asian. Some don't care and will still try but if she keeps this type up in the future she's gonna ruin her chances at marrying a decent chaebol or something. (and nobody @ me, most of these women either settle down seriously and quietly or marry. she gonna kill her chances for both). And yes I'm sure Zico paid for some women himself.
and yes that is pretty much what an idol is. Although I will say I deeply admire and adore Jun.K from 2pm cause he seems like a geniune guy who just makes music and loves what he does, he isn't shallow like the rest. Taceyeon too.
AND THANKS SO MUCH LOVE!
