2022 art summary moments! While my general art style didn’t change as drastically this year as last, I definitely pushed myself a lot harder this year, and I think I’ve improved a LOT. Maybe next year will be the year I start drawing more props and scenery </3

Look who didn’t forget!
Because I got many responses to this textpost I figured I’d address them all at once.

wuvvums said: I feel the same way as well. Like I’ll watch an anime once in a great while (the last one being that show that was a mixture of catgirls and national geographic aimed at children)
Glad to see I’m not alone on that!
strontiumsun said: It’s funny because the reason I like Appmon so much is that I has a plot! Much more plot focused than Pokémon or Yokai watch. So I’m the opposite XD thanks for the promo!
I think you may have misread because yeah I’m mostly a plot lover too. Yeah Pokemon and YW are both more casual so its a reason I haven’t been able to get into either. I still need to check out Appmon sometime since with few exceptions digimon usually has the best writing of any mon series out there! No problem, friend :).

Little things about it grate on me more too like how unaturally high pitched every woman’s voice is. The community is kinda gross and I don’t have interest in being aligned with it. I can still watch a couple but as a genre I don’t seek it anymore.
Yeah actually older I get more... bored of a lot of anime because the styles often blend together even worse than “Calart” style cartoons. There are obviously exceptions like Mob Psycho 100 that stand out stylistically but they’re quite rare unfortunately. Voices don’t bother me as much but yeah there is this dumb trope in Japanese media of thinking shrieking high pitch schoolgirls is “funny” rather than obnoxious and bordering on painful. And yeah like I can get up in the grill of western cartoons for having shitty fandoms but like... weeaboos very much compete with furries for having some of the grossest most sexually depraved weirdos within their ranks. I jprefer anthro art to anime art as a person so I can tolerate the creepers slightly more within that population.

It’s not as if there aren’t good western comics, it’s just easier to find manga recommendations in genres I enjoy. I struggle to get into webcomics because of the format of one page at a time updates makes it hard for me to enjoy it. Sometimes I’ll read some if they’ve got enough up already that I can binge a few chapters but then I have to take a break until there are more chapters done.
Yeah Western comics are one I’ve never been able to get into because the continuity is all over the place x-x. Like big both companies have tried to reboot stuff to streamline it as far as I know and both failed. Yeah I don’t mind the webcomic format even though its often like that but I can get why others would mind it. Mangas are ok its just harder to consume them legally without requiring to buy a sub to a website so I don’t do it as often. Crunchyroll does have some series uploaded to it but nothing that’s ever caught my eye, all the ones I’d like to read would require a sub to Shonen Jump.
katisconfused said: I think it might be what you are looking for. I drifted back to anime because too much “adult” shows were OW THE EDGE111 shit or cops (which got SUPER uncomfy after ferguson) and american cartoons are both really obnoxious to find online due to lack of legal streaming options and the fandoms are the worst. Like I legit miss bronies when looking at voltron fans jesus fuck I kind of never want to watch a popular english cartoon again after so many bad fandoms in a row
Honestly as noted with a different reply I can deal with like dumb discourse more than sexual creepers so I tend to prefer the fandoms of western cartoons. That’s a personal taste thing though obviously and I couldn’t know how bad Voltron’s fandom is... because I literally don’t care about the show. Like 0%. No offense to fans of course but as noted the anime style has come to feel really bland to me in recent years. As a result western cartoons that emulate it end up becoming anime in my mind and thus that lack of interest oozes out.
