Hi~! I love you hcs so much! How would the la squadra boys react to getting a chocolate bunny from they SO on Easter? And what would the boys get/ for them in return? Thank you~!! 💚💚
Thank you!
I’m trying to answer in order but Easter is tomorrow so here you go! I had to do some research on how Easter is celebrated in Italy. Apologies to my Italian followers for any inaccuracies. I am a simple Mexican-American and our traditions are different. But catch Formaggio smashing a confetti egg on your head. For Easter, the boys take s/o to Mass and confess their horny sins.
Risotto: He accepts it with a gracious smile, thanking them for the thoughtful gift. He gives the chocolate bunny a curious look before turning to his s/o and asked where they got it and what it’s for. Chocolate bunnies are not commonly sold in Italy as the Easter bunny is more American than Italian. Once his s/o explains, he just says, “I see” unwraps it and takes a small bit. It has been years since he’s celebrated Easter, having lost faith long ago. His s/o’s explanation has him looking back at his childhood and how he used to spend Easter with his family and getting Easter eggs. His chest feels tight and he puts the chocolate rabbit aside. He gets up and asks his s/o if they want to go out. He won’t say why, but he’s feeling nostalgic and doesn’t think seeing how his countrymen are celebrating the holiday. They walk around the city, Risotto giving his s/o little anecdotes of his past when he sees something that helps him remember. He buys his s/o a small, but beautiful, chocolate Easter egg, apologizing for not having anything prepared. But to his s/o, Risotto telling them about his past is more than enough.
Prosciutto: Prosciutto has never gotten an easter bunny chocolate before and he finds it amusing. He doesn’t understand how it relates to Easter but doesn’t think too much about it. Holiday traditions are a curious thing. He opens up the chocolate and takes a small bite of the chocolate ear, letting it hand in between his teeth. He leans into kisses his s/o, sharing the chocolate with them. “Thank you for the delicious treat, amore,” followed by a wink. Later that day, Prosciutto gives his famous Pastiera Napoletana, a dessert he has been planning for the last two days for his s/o to try. Sure, he could have bought it, but where is the sincerity in that? He will use it as an opportunity to share a little of Italian Easter with his s/o.
Pesci: This poor boy doesn’t get it when his s/o gives him the rabbit. He doesn’t know much about other cultures, so he associates chocolate eggs with easter, not bunnies. When his s/o explains this, he lights up because he thinks it’s cute. This is a guy who loves small animals like chicks and rabbits, so he thinks it’s fitting for the holiday. He breaks it in half and shares with his s/o. They spend time telling each other how they used to spend Easter as children, learning about the similarities and differences in how they celebrated. Pesci asks them if they want to go out and see an Easter procession happening in the city. As they walk there, Pesci notes that shops are selling Ciaramicola, known for being a dessert for lovers. While it’s women who buy and give it to their lovers, Pesci doesn’t care and buys it for his s/o to enjoy. They end up stopping and sit on a bench, and Pesci watches his s/o eat and enjoy the dessert.
Formaggio: He takes on look at it and devours it without a second thought. He’s a man who loves food and doesn’t question why someone gives him it. If his s/o pouts for his lack of reaction, he will ask them if anything is wrong. When his s/o explains it was a Chocolate bunny for Easter, he apologizes and gives his s/o several deep kisses, passing on the chocolate taste to them. He’s not big on Easter despite it being all over Italy, so he’s become desensitized to it, but he’s gonna put more thought into it. He does come back and present his s/o with a very large, expensive, elaborate chocolate Easter egg. It’s the size of his s/o’s head. It’s so big, they can’t see Formaggio’s expression. When he lifts the egg, he’s smiling ear-to-ear. “It took forever to find, but look what I got you, babe!” His s/o gawks at sweet, wondering how they will eat the egg. But their expression turned into a smile, touched by Formaggio going out of his way. They go over and kiss his cheek and ask him how much that thing cost. His gives them a pained expression. “Babe, I don’t want to talk about it.”
Illuso: When his s/o gives him the chocolate bunny, he has something prepared for them too since he was expecting it. It’s a cute Easter basket filled with goodies because he’s always trying to do the most. It’s filled with an assortment of chocolates, a bottle of wine, expensive cheeses, salami, and crackers. He won’t admit how much thought he put into the beautiful designed and wrapped gift. His s/o might feel insecure about it, but it’s not like he wants something similar. He just likes to be extra. His s/o might want to take back the chocolate rabbit, calling it insignificant, but Illuso will prevent them from getting it by hold it up high so they won’t reach it. If they are as tall as him, he might toss it at a mirror and use his stand so it goes through and his s/o can’t reach it. While his s/o opens their gift, Illuso looks over the little chocolate bunny with a smile on his face. He might show it off to the team. “Look at what my love gave me.” His team will roll their eyes and go about their business. Illuso’s s/o shares their gift with him, feeding him bits of chocolates as they drink their wine.
Melone: He thinks them with a kiss and asks his s/o if they can feed him pieces. He doesn’t question the rabbit symbolism as he is familiar even though it’s not common in Italy. He’s very flirtatious, explaining to his s/o the history about why the rabbit is associated with Easter and talks about how they are symbols of fertility and are prolific breeders, winking at his s/o when he mentions these parts. Being his s/o, they can’t help but chuckle at his obvious attempts to “breed like rabbits.” Later, Melone will present his s/o with his own gift. He will cook his s/o a delicious dinner commonly eaten during Easter such as roasted lamb because it’s also a symbol of birth, pack it up, and go on a picnic. He’ll spend the day with his s/o and talks about the interesting rituals and traditions he participated in as a child and people watch and see how others celebrate the holiday.
Ghiaccio: His s/o had good intentions but Ghiaccio decided to go off about the Easter bunny not being a thing in Italy and how un-Italian the chocolate is! He doesn’t get it. His s/o has to give him a deadpan look to get him to stop. He clicks his click and frowns deeply as he stares at the chocolate rabbit. His expression doesn’t change when he looks at his s/o and says, “Thanks….” He simply grumpy because it’s not the traditional thing given on Easter in Italy. This will lead him to take his s/o out and shop for ingredients. They return to his s/o’s home (cause he doesn’t want his squad to see him). He puts on an apron and starts to measure and separate ingredients. “I’m going to show you how to make Colomba di Pasqua. It’s a cake we eat for Easter.” They end up baking together, Ghiaccio telling them about Easter traditions in Italy and their origin. As the cake bakes, Ghiaccio takes out the chocolate bunny, frowns and starts to eat it. After he’s done, he kisses his s/o’s temple. “Sorry…Thanks. It was good.” He can feel his face heat up and turns to hide. His s/o chuckles to themselves, a knowing smile playing on their lips.
Sorbet & Gelato: Sorbet may be an assassin, but he is surprisingly religious. He takes Gelato and their s/o to Rome to Catholic mass in St. Peter’s Basilica in the middle of Vatican City. And Gelato is not very religious, but he respects Sorbet’s traditions without a fight. After mass, Sorbet, Gelato, and their s/o go to the hotel Sorbet had arranged. When giving the chocolate rabbit to them, their s/o might be a bit scared by Sorbet’s reaction because of how serious he takes the holiday. However, Sorbet accepts it graciously. He sees it as being no different than Easter eggs on display throughout the country. Gelato thinks it’s the cutest thing, explaining how he’s never gotten a chocolate Easter bunny before and wants more (catch him buying bunny ears later). Sorbet brings out his gifts: custom Chocolate eggs. The eggs contain matching earrings chosen by Sorbet. Gelato doesn’t have much planned other than eggs, though a little less personal. He’s not big on the holiday and Sorbet and their s/o recognize this but are grateful for putting some thought into it.
