Talking about historical fiction with my grandma, trying unsubtley to get her to read the Aubrey Maturin books with me, she looks it up, finds this instead

and has informed me she will start reading the first book immediately and sends me a photo of her desktop screen so I can read it along with her - biggest Uno Reverse ever pulled on me, touché gran

#I love reading books at the same time as my grandma #we’ve finished reading the watch books together (or rather I finished reading them out loud TO her over WhatsApp)#so now we need something new #I told her hey let’s read the Witches series next you’ll love it! she said yes absolutely!#and now we’re simultaneously reading Napoleonic wars but with dragons #and as far as I understand it’s M&C fan fic but with dragons #I’m. im gonna finish my book first though??#and I’ll see if the library has these books #I don’t like reading digitally shit hurts my eyes #temeraire #I guess I’m reading this next?!#it kinda gives me (just from quickly reading the wiki description) master and commander and dr strange and mr norell vibes #my grandma is actually hilarious #she planned this out - she never wanted to read the Aubrey Maturin books but she didn’t wanna be rude so she found a loophole #it’s my theory at least #aubreyad #she’s more of a Jane Austen girlie #and I only JUST read persuasion (I liked it)#I was really looking forward to introducing her to the Discworld witches tho #but I’m so busy and she refuses to read discworld without me because ‘you always do the voices and I like the voices!’#i 100% do all the voices #im a voice actor ffs #also it’s fun #but I think I’ve ruined her reading experience BECAUSE I do the voices #rip
