Thinking about how, as a (newbie) DM and an (amateur) writer, I, in my horror campaign, get to turn snow cones and the act of giving someone a snow cone into a overarching thematic element for my warlock player’s storyline.

#dm thoughts #it's about a child's act of kindness in the face of and directed towards an insurmountable monster #it's about what that act of kindness means #it's about what that insurmountable monster is left to do about it #but it's also incredibly funny #'When You Give a Lich a Snow Cone' better become a recurring joke #LIKE #'Moth Larvae Child Gives Azalin Rex a Snow Cone' IS NOT WHAT COMES TO MIND WHEN YOU THINK RAVENLOFT PC BACKSTORY BUT LIKE #I LOVE IT #Me and the player in question are actually writing out this scene from the backstory and I am #very excited to get to the sequence in question #it's so silly of s concept but I can't wait to make it actually like #meaningful and thematically appropriate #I will be using snow cones as a weapon to pummel my players in the emotions
