Jonah Magnus is a night owl. He would get too caught up in his studies and completely lost track of the time. Also gentleman gatherings are at the afternoon or evening anyway so no reason not to stay up all night reading books.

Elias Bouchard is an early bird. During the years Jonah become more organized and gained fondness for having everything perfectly scheduled. There's no need to rush and read five new books a day.
