ok I finished jack jeanne for real (all cgs unlocked) time to blog about it. I think it's just straight up the best otome on the market you can play right now. albeitttt I don't play many indies but this game was just a powerhouse of heartfelt warmth and character growth god DAMN!!!! also the art is just so beautiful yay sui ishida
Tumblr media
I don't wanna spoil much about the game even though I also want to gush about it but I'll put this under a cut cause I dunno how long I'll ramble
I can't even really think of any huge complaints. there's a couple small things still, nothing's perfect, but compared to literally any other otome I've played the lack of things I need to overlook is also a breath of fresh air!!! the one thing that's like, this genuinely might made it hard to recommend is that my final play time was 140 hours... and that was with a lot of fast-forwarding through repeated content and not much idling (unlike I usually do LOL) but MY GOD IT'S SO FUCKING WORTH IT.... PLEASE.... you can even play it as a strictly platonic game (which would cut down the hours by like at least half) and even then I think that would be worth buying it...
ALSO: VOICED HEROINE!! my fucking favorite. also she's amazing. my new fav otoge MC... I need her to be happy and successful forever or I will drown myself in tears ok
every LI genuinely tugged at my heart strings, I cried happy tears at the ending every time... it's like eating freshly baked cookies... just overwhelming warmth...
it also did the impossible by making me MISS high school, because I was in band and choir etc and it made me so damn nostalgic for the power of putting on a performance even if I was almost never center stage TvT this game is so earnest in it's efforts and care, I literally could feel the love in it... ahg
my favorite character though was Kai... I was expecting it but he still hit me harder than expected IN MULTIPLE WAYS REAL AS HELLLLLLLLLL BTWWWW v
Tumblr media
also I wasn't expecting this game to handle social and gender norms in a like... way I'd actually identify with? because japan has a different history with all that especiallyy within the world of theater and a lot of modern japanese media has weird ways of. um. un-lgbt'ing their cast I'll say lmao. but this game pulled some shit off I wasn't expecting. I really really really enjoyed it (and I already enjoy the awkward or clumsy "heroine hides her gender" stories so maybe I'm biased here LOL) I know this game probably took soo much fucking money to make and who knows how many years but. god I want a sequel so bad THE SIDE CHARACTERS WERE SO GOOD. it's heart warming and filling but also so so charming I can't help but hope they make more. there's light novels and stuff but I doubt those will ever be officially translated T___T ah well
also the OST, especially the performance tracks sung by the cast ARE SO INSANELY GOOD !!!! 10/10 BABEY
anyway. kai clip to say goodbye

MASTERLIST
I drag the humid rag over the counter, cleaning the stains that -at some point in the evening- started being part of the decoration of the wooden surface along with the few empty glasses Tammy, my co-worker, kept gathering next to the beer tap.
I hate being behind the bar right after Tammy because of this.
She throws the empty metallic tray before both of her elbows rest on the counter. It doesn't take her long to move them back up, just as soon as she realizes I've been cleaning up what she didn't.
—I swear if one more asshole touches my ass...
—Kick him —I shrug—. Isn't that why you've been boxing?
—That's why I started —she corrects me—. The reason why I'm still going though...
—Oh, your boxing crush —I nod—. Gotcha.
Tammy is still standing there. Probably waiting for me to go on and ask her a thousand questions about that crush she has talked about non-stop.
—And that's it? You aren't going to ask if there's something new?
—No —I answer, moving to the beer tap so I can start picking the empty glasses up—. It's not like you need me to ask anyway.
—You're right —she laughs—. He might come with his friends tonight —I nod, she already told me this earlier today.
And just like she told me, her group of friends show up half an hour later, when we are about to close. It's not a big group, and they don't look like the people I'm used to seeing Tammy surrounded by. They look... normal.  Don't get me wrong, Tammy is great, but her friends have always been the type of people you would love to kick for being too loud next to you. Yes. Definitely that type.
She's laughing and talking to two girls, while the other guy is just looking at his phone. And, right at the same time I'm eyeing them, Tammy spots me and waves at me to join them. I don't really want to, but she insists.
"Take any change you can to meet new people. Get out of your comfort zone" I roll my eyes when that phrase pops up in my mind. I'm annoyed, but at the same time, that dude wasn't wrong. How am I supposed to meet new people if I keep closing doors?
And since the pub flirting didn't work two days ago, I should stick to meeting people that are friends with my friends -or coworkers in this case.
I look around, and confirm there aren't a lot of customers left before I start walking to the table where Tammy is more than comfortable now. She just sat right next to the blonde girl like she isn't on her shift at this exact moment. I'm about to turn around and go back to the counter, but Tammy's warning gaze just tells me she'll be a pain in the ass if I end up doing that.
—Guys, this is y/n —she introduces me to her friends as soon as I reach the table.
Everyone there greets me and assures me Tammy has talked a lot about me. And that makes me feel bad instantly, for the thought I had earlier of her not being totally my friend -at least, I don't think we've been around enough to be considered as such. They all introduce themselves: Melanie is the blonde girl with a white charming smile -and by her accent, I'd assume she isn't from here, maybe Boston-, Lucas is the blond guy who only lifts his gaze from his phone to look at Tammy every once in a while, and Jungsoo is the asian girl, brunette short shoulder length hair, that welcomes me to the conversation, although it's the first time she's ever seen me.
They tell me both Soo and Lucas met Tammy in one of those kickboxing classes, and Tammy met Soo's boyfriend when she got that butterfly tattoo she got on her shoulder, while Melanie was already friends with Soo because they both went to the same college. And just that way, the conversation swifts to a topic I don't like and that reminds me why I'm working in a shitty bar this late into the night.
—Fine Arts —I try to suppress the usual annoyed tone that comes with it.
—Really? —Soo asks surprised— My brother also studied that degree, but he wasn't lucky finding a job he liked.
Well, at least he was lucky enough to find a job and quit only because he didn't like it.
—He started working with my boyfriend on a business he opened, and just stayed there —she mentions—. Have you ever considered doing something on your own?
I know the question is genuine, I know she's just being curious since she found someone who was just as unlucky as her brother. But unlike him, I don't have the resources of opening anything on my own. Imagine thinking I had them, but I'm still working here by choice? I'd kick myself to death if I ever did something like that.
—No —I shake my head—. I'm sure there will be something out there for me sooner or later. I have the gift of patience, so...
And that's probably why I still haven't found a proper job as a designer. Fuck, even a simple job in an art gallery would make it for me. At the end of the day, it's what I studied for.
Soo moves her hand up, moving her locks away from her face, and I can't help but notice a familiar tattoo on her wrist. But before I can think too much about it, I see her pointing at me before asking:
—Are you working next weekend?
—Hmm no.
Which always translated to me as: waking up at three in the afternoon, doing the laundry, maybe grocery shopping... Adult things, basically.
—We rented a cabin —she sips her beer before looking at me again—. It's Melanie's birthday, and we usually go to Lake Seneca to celebrate it.
What does that have to do with me?
—Tammy is coming, too. And a few other friends —she continues—. My brother's ex-girlfriend was supposed to come, so now we have space left. If you want to join us...
—I don't know —I doubt—. We just met and it's your birthday —I point to Melanie—. Having a stranger around...
—That's how we all started —she shrugs—. Also you're Tammy's friend, so you're fine. The more we are, the better. We all were strangers at some point.
—If it's fine for you.
Melanie nods right away, assuring everything is fine and I shouldn't be worrying. Soo talks again, trying to comfort me when she realizes I'm still not totally convinced.
—My brother is in a similar situation. He started going out with us not that long ago.
The difference is he is your brother. While I've just learnt today I'm close friends with Tammy.
In one of those trips my eyes make all over the bar, I spot one customer waiting in the counter, resting both of his arms on the surface while he's looking around for either of us. Warning everyone that I'm going back to work, I start heading there.
While I'm busy with the customer, I hear the door opening and closing almost instantly. And that only causes me to beg people stop coming.
It's late. They all should be going to sleep. I want to go back home and let the mattress absorb me. But doesn't seem like that's what Tammy wants me to do, when she waves at me again once the customer leaves.

"I've only been in New York City for 15 hours, Xuejiao. And it's huge! I don't know these streets you're telling me!" You shout, ignoring the side-eyes from the passerby city slickers that give New York it’s bad stereotype.
"You're going down 96th Street right? I told you to keep going down. It's a long a.ss street. You'll find the campus eventually- look for the dome!"
The connection breaks as Xuejiao finishes the call, "I gotta go now, I’m trying to get in my astrology professor’s pants after class!" The line goes silent and you huff, opening up GPS to lead you down the forsaken 96th Street. Distracted with directions, some guy crashes into you with his bike.
"What the hell!? Watch where you're going!" You yell picking up your fallen bag- which scattered all of my weeaboo s.hit.
"Maybe if you didn't stand in the middle of the street, you wouldn't have wrecked my bike! You're lucky you didn't get killed by a real car!" You looked up at the ignorant voice and found a young, orange-haired Asian boy. Maybe Chinese, like me?
"I wrecked your bike!? You're really unbelievable.." You placed everything back into the bag and took out your wallet. "Look, I don't have time for this. I'm sorry for damaging your tricycle, or whatever- here." You threw a fully punched Xing Fu Tang loyalty card at the kid’s dumbfounded face and walked off.
It's 9:57 AM, your o-chem class starts at 10 and you still can't find the campus. Why did my parents even make me leave Hong Kong? Because of the government, the pollution? Both countries are f.ucked. I choke there and I choke here.
Finally, I'm here.
You ran to the STEM building and up the stairs to land in a spacious lab room. You hurried to an empty seat near the top row. 9:59 AM.. Thank goodness.
In the midst of the lesson, the door opened to reveal the same clumsy jerk you had encountered a few minutes ago. He rushed to an empty seat, you going unnoticed by him.
Your first 50 minutes of college went by pretty quick. Nothing more than a syllabus review and a small question/answer session.
"I know it is the first day, but you are all in big kid school now, so I am assigning a semester project you will work on for all of this first term with a partner." Each array of your peers groaned at this announcement.
"You will use your knowledge from high school chemistry or an equivalent to complete it." The professor continued, "I will choose your partners and you are both expected to be responsible with it all semester."
"Remember your partner's name so that when I'm done, you can come down to get each other's contact information."
"Man Wol and Ji An.. Ha Jin and Hae Soo.."
The professor continued to call out names as you were caught up in texting Xuejiao about the kid who crashed into you earlier this morning being in your class, only half listening until you heard your name being called.
“Y/N and Yangyang.." Did I miss a racist joke or something? What the hell is a Yang Yang?
You kept texting Xuejiao, deciding to deal with it after class.
"I know it's a lot to take in on the first day, but on the bright side, you don't have to do the project," Some idiots celebrated, "but know that I will judge you harshly on it and I will be teaching at an Ivy League while you get kicked out of an Ivy League, never achieving your dreams." He fakes a sad face and the same idiots fuss.
"Now come meet your partners and have a good rest of your first day!" Your first professor dismissed the first class.
You put your phone in your pocket and stumbled to the bottom of the classroom, calling out for "Yangyang," the name feeling awkward as it rolled off your tongue.
"That's me." You spun around and were met with the trike guy from earlier.
"IT'S YOU!" You exclaimed in unison with him, the space between you two silencing for a second, before you spoke again.
"Oh my God I can't believe I got such a d!ck as a partner." You rolled your eyes with crossed arms.
"Hey! It takes two to d!ck!" Yangyang argues back. You stared at the fellow Asian boy in disgust and dismay.
"What the f.uck!?"
Both of you suddenly broke down laughing, your huddled classmates peeking at you with judgemental stares.
Yangyang calmed down and talked more comfortably with you, "Thanks for the boba by the way. I drank it deliciously.. before I dropped it because I crashed again."
"That's what you get for being a pr!ck to me." You scoffed.
"Oh baby that wasn't being a pr!ck. That was simply getting you warmed up to want me." He tapped your chin to bop your head back while giving a creepy stare.
...
"You're a f.ucking crazy person."
"Like it or not, Mulan, you're stuck with me for an entire semester." He stuck his tongue out at you.
"Mulan?" You questioned.
"Yeah. You're a Chinese b!tch, right?" You glared at him, but had to nod ‘yes’ anyway.
"Cool. I'm Taiwanese.. I need to get to the other side of campus so give me your number so we can work out the details on the project. You wanna meet up at the library tonight?" You agreed and gave him your number.
"Great. See you tonight, Mulan." He winked and jumped out of the room.
Shaking your head at the ironic situation, you walked to the next class with a little over 10 minutes to spare, so you stopped for coffee at the Starbucks on campus.
The shop was pretty small and there weren't a lot of people inside. As you were about to enter, another Asian boy held the door open. "Thank you." You smiled, bowing your head in gratitude.
"Anything for a girl with such a charming smile. Can I buy you a coffee?" He asked.
"No, that's ok!" You replied, not wanting to inconvenience this guy- and besides, he might just be trying to get in my pants.
"Please I insist! Get anything you want!" You decided to take his offer because in the end, it’s free coffee. He was also pretty charming himself, and seemingly harmless.
"Could I get an iced Americano, please?" You ordered. "I'll have the same." The boy told the barista.
You both stood to the side of the bar, talking while the identical drinks were being made. "Thank you for paying, you really didn't have to." "No no it's really fine. I wanted to.. I'm Dejun Xiao by the way, I think I'm in your chemistry class. What's your name?"
"I'm Y/N." "Oh are you Chinese!?" You nodded. "I'm Chinese as well. Are you from China?" "I'm from Hong Kong." "That's so cool! I'm from Guangdong." "Oh nice, nice.." The drinks were handed to you and you walked out together, strolling into the center of the campus.
"What class do you have next?" Dejun asked, sipping at his coffee. You took out a crumpled paper to examine the schedule printed on it. "I have biochem next." "Oh we have the same class!" Dejun announced. "That's crazy! Are you premed?" You asked him. "No, I'm studying forensic science. I want to be a homicide detective.”
Wow this guy is impressive. "Wow, that's awesome.. I want to be a heart surgeon.”
“That’s so cool!” "Thank you." You laughed at his energy. The two of you walked in the direction of your next shared class, conversing and giggling with each other along the way.
You reached your next classroom and found empty seats next to one another. “You can call me Xiaojun, by the way. I think it’s cooler than Dejun.”
“If you have to say your name is cool, then it’s not cool.” Another Asian man walked up to your row.
"Hey man! You're in here, too?" Xiaojun asked. "Yeah! It was a lucky draw." Xiaojun then motioned over to you, "This is Y/N. She's my new.. friend?" He smiled at you, looking for confirmation. Returning his smile, "Yes I am. Nice to meet you." The other male shook your hand and introduced himself. "Nice to meet you, too. I'm Kun."
"She's from China, like us!" Kun was surprised. "Really? Why did you come to America?" "My parents made me." You shrugged. "Wow mine did, too." Kun chuckled and sat down in the row of you and Xiaojun.
I left China, but China came to me. Maybe this year is destined to be good..
To be continued…

Maldonia | Prince Naveen
Prince Naveen x black reader
Tumblr media
"We are never doing this again," I say as I finished getting dressed at the foot of Naveen's bed now sliding the remaining of my dress down.
I don't know how we even got here.
Well, let me re- phrase that:
I know exactly how this how we got here.
A typical drunken night of passion on the night of Maldonia's Independence Day. We were at a party and there we're drinks. Lots and lots of drinks.
And he was just there with that gorgeous brown skin and pretty long eyelashes and charming accent just tempting me to go there with him.
Naveen chuckled to himself at my statement. "You said that after the first round and the second" he licked his lips. "And the third"
I slipped back on my heels. "Well, I mean it this time," I say looking back at him deep into his eyes.
That sexy smirk on his face rose again.
"Wanna go another before we make that official before I go?" He suggested to me.
Wow, I really forgot he was leaving.
I chuckled to myself. "No"
This man is so cocky.
"C'mon, it'll be like goodbye sex. You know I'm leaving for New Orleans."
"To find you a privileged princess," I smirked.
"Ha ha, very funny" he says watching me get dressed. He just layed there in the large bed half naked.
"One day your gonna find a woman who's gonna make your work for love" I say to him and he listens. "Not me though, that shit would be exhausting." I add.
"I'm Prince Naveen of Maldonia. I never work for anything. Women practically drop their panties at the sight of me. Kind of like you did last night."that sexy smirk rises on his face again.
I playfully rolled my eyes at him.
That got me thinking about last night and how everything went down.
There I was at the Independence Day party with my two bestfriends having fun until they ditched me to dance with some guys.
There were our traditional Maldonia colors everywhere. In confetti, people's attire, and of course the drinks. Peach and purple with the Maldonian castle on the flag.
As of now, I was at the bar sipping my Maldonia Martini that was a peach Crown Royal with purple crystals on the outside.
I just wanted to hang with my girls but I guess plans change.
"Another round of shots!" The life of the party, Naveen orders the employees behind the bar.
"Hey, Ria. Enjoying the party?" He looks over to me with a kind smile.
He had just came from being danced on by some women on the dance floor. He's what you call a Ladies' Man.
"The name is Aria, we're not in academy anymore. " I snap stirring my drink.
"Oh okay, my bad" he throws his hands up in defense.
We have known eachother for as long as I can remember. We went to academy together and our families are pretty close-like weekly family dinners close. Ever since his parents cut him off, Naveen has been searching for his Princess Charming. He knows that I don't have the amount of dough of his liking. I dodged that bullet with him. He wouldn't dare do that to me anyway. Whoever he plans to marry for money is their problem.
That's why today he is having his last hoorah for good times sake before he jets off to America—New Orleans.
I was apart of the few people in his circle that new of this. He will be missed-even with his slightly conceited, spolied-self.
"You know Navé, Im gonna miss you Navé. Underneath all of the glitter and gold, there's a nice, kind man." I say to him and he smiles at me.
"I guess I deserve that for calling you by your nickname. I'm gonna miss you too." He says.
"I know your friends ditched you but why are you not out dancing?" He asks. "Let me be your wingman. " Navé says and I shake my head no
"C'mon Ria, you gotta loosen up. There's plenty of guys out here for you to mingle with," Naveen says to me as he waits for his drink beside me at the bar. He was so busy ranting to me that he forgot that he was waiting for a drink. He's a prince, he never does that. Naveen gets what he wants when he wants it. That's just how it is with him.
"Wait, why am I waiting?" He says to himself causing to laugh at him. "What a man got to get another round of shots around here!" Naveen yelled loudly at the bartender.
I laughed at how irritated he was getting on waiting for his drinks. Unlike his usual V.I.P treatment in clubs and venues, this was already an exclusive party. So everyone basically got treated the same.
"Round of shots for the Prince!"the mixer fixed his shots to his liking.
"So what happened to Brandon?" He asks me referring to my ex. Naveen and I haven't seen eachother in a while so we were catching up.
"Brandon," I corrected him. "And he cheated. It's whatever."
"Are you serious? If I ever see him I'll-" he started to get mad. "How could he do that to you? You're gorgeous, sexy, and kind of nice" I chuckled playfully hitting him at that last part.
"But seriously...how?" He scoffs to himself in frustration.
"Here," Naveen passes me the Maldonian alcohol in the shot glass.
"To my last hoorah and getting you a night of passion," he says before linking arms with me as we both through our heads back taking the shots. I immediately felt the burn go to my throat. We unhooked arms.
"Woo!" Naveen exclaims in excitement.
"So, how you feeling about leaving?" I ask him.
"You know, I'm actually kind of scared. I've been here my entire life and never been on my own before. It's about damn time." He says admittedly.
"But I'm hella excited for New Orleans. The culture, the scenery, the music. I just need a new environment."
"I get that. But you'll be fine. Just do whatever your heart tells you."
Before I knew it, we talked some more and he helped me muster the courage to dance with someone as he did the same. I was on the dancefloor grinding my hips on a man I had just met.
Naveen locked eyes with me as he looked unamused by the girl grinding on him. The stunning woman felt all on his body pushing herself onto him but all he could do was gaze at me.
The man I was still dancing on hugged my waist squeezing me tightly as we motioned to the rhythm of the music.
Once we both then switched partners to dance with eachother.
"Let's go," I pull him closer to whisper in his ear. His lingering eyes gaze deep into mines in desire. I then took his hand leading us out of the party.
_______
"I-I'm gonna do you soo hard," I slur out to him tugging his shirt closer to me. I chuckle drunkenly and started nibbling on ear. Sending teasing pecks on his jawline, I felt a smile rise on his face.
"Fucking would be nice, eh?" He says to me with that charming accent.
His hands trail from my waist to my ass squeezing it passionately. My lips gravitated to his getting lost in them. The kisses grew from being innocent to sloppy.
We were now the leaning against the wall of the private elevator of his Royal Suite. We had entire suite to ourselves. And I was going to make sure to christen all of the rooms.
I got excited as we were rising up to our floor. Sticking my tongue down his throat with my arms around his neck, Naveen picked me up to wrap my legs around his waist. Without breaking the kiss,he managed to unlock the door.
We were now in the spacious white livingroom area accented with golden decorations. I threw my head back as Navé sent teasing pecks all throughout my neck.
"Are you ready for this?" He murmurs as his lips brushes against the skin of my neck.
"I should be asking you that question" I say I he lays us on the couch.
______
We got a little hunger after the first round. Here we were in the kitchen area looking for something to snack on.
With nothing but Naveen's white button down and a pair of lace panties on, I searched in the large refrigerator for a snack.
Naveen comes over behind me shirtless with his arms wrapped around me. He started sending teasing pecks on my neck.
I then grabbed the bowl of strawberries to take a bite of one. He then ate the remaining of it from my hand.
He then let go of me to grab a few things as I sat on the wide kitchen counter.
I continued eating strawberries as ge turned around with a few things in his hands. Whipped cream, honey, and chocolate syrup.
"For the strawberries, " he says and I chuckle. Naveen makes his way over to me standing in between my legs.
I grab the spray can of whipped cream and eat some. I nod my hand at how good it was.
Naveen then takes the can.
After spraying a bit of whipped cream on my neck, he licks it off.
I giggled at the sensation.
"You like that?" His eyes lingered in mines.
"Yeah," I smiled.
Naveen then snaps me out of my thoughts.
"Can I atleast get a goodbye kiss?" Navé asks. "One for the road?" He pouts his lips. I couldn't help but eye his built physique.
This man is so greedy I swear.
I roll my eyes making my way over to him sitting down on the bed. I gravitate my lips towards his once again feeling his soft touch. His tongue waved it's way down my throat and I couldn't seem to break the kiss. His hand felt on my thigh urging me to go there again.
"Okay, maybe this one last time," I chuckle to myself.
"Arania" he said before I could leave. I looked over to him. "Yes, Navé?"
"You we're the one who got away. How did I loose you?" He asked me and I had no words.
Hearing him say that was everything but it wasn't enough for us to be anything. We both knew that.
Lost for words, I just shrugged. "I don't know" I say.
"Have fun in New Orleans. And remember what I said." I say before exiting his spacious bedroom suite.
THE END
