"Who are you, and what do you want?" We are putting that question to two of our favorite bad but sad boys…who are in reality, very distinct, completely different and nowhere near as similar as you'd think. We'll be taking a deep dive into these two character's respective arcs, what makes them so distinct--and why it's critical to the cultural conversation about character analysis as a whole.
We also have a Patreon now! If you love our work and would like to support us, head on over here to gain access to behind the scenes goodies and squeakless videos!

so many of my kitties are giving me love tonight. sweetie is behind my back, milton is in my lap, smoke has been beside me all night, and cole is on the other side of me. partially, it's keeping me from going to bed. maybe they can tell one of them are missing now or something or they're just sad from seeing Pumpkin get rough there for a bit

Sorry for all the cat posting lately. It's really been triggering my anxiety and I've needed to vent my concerns or get consumed by them. Now that Sirius is rapidly recovering, though, I'm gonna cool it with all the personal stuff for now. I know y'all are tired of seeing it.

I can't believe I still have to see posts about how much better ROP would be if Celebrían was the lead vs. Galadriel. As someone who has Tolkien Brainrot, I understand the appeal, I really, really do. As someone who has had to interact with so many people who either do not care about Tolkien Lore but are interested in fantasy television shows or are Jackson film fans first/foremost/only, y'all. Galadriel is a known character and a decent intro to lesser known characters.
Hate to break it to y'all but Celebrían is OBSCURE. I'm pretty confident in saying that if you get outside of Tolkien Fandom online circles, you could tell people that Elrond was married to Galadriel's daughter and the response you would get would be, "oh, I didn't realize that" because it's touched so lightly in the films. Celebrían isn't even MENTIONED by name. Now that I think about it, I'm not even sure if anyone mentions that Galadriel and Arwen are related at all!
My point is the show is meant to appeal to more people than us over here with Tolkien Brainrot!!!!!! I love Celebrían, but Galadriel was an easier sell to the potential of a wider audience as a lead. For a show that needs to go through so much lore very quickly, having Galadriel as the lead because she's 1) female [the overwhelming amount of male characters vs. female characters in the Legendarium is another post], 2) relatively familiar, and 3) has a set characterization to lead toward for an arc vs. her barely-even-mentioned-in-LotR daughter is a no-brainer.

incredible anime experience:
i decided to try watching aot to see what all the buzz is about. i go to my usual definately legal site, pick s1e1. the website sometimes bugs when picking the first ep of a season, and plays the wrong episode, but this had the correct title and seemed fine, so i start watching.
literally all i knew aside from the basics is that the protag's whole deal has sth to do with the titans breaching a wall and killing his mother when he was a kid (i absorbed some of the basic plot knowledge through internet osmosis). and oh look, here he is as a kid! and oh look, here's the big boys!
then i'm like. who are any of these people. what is happening. why is this guy crying. who is this dude. who are these dudes. am i supposed to understand from context clues? am i supposed to just turn my brain off and go on the ride? is this whole fucking anime like this? is this anime for cryptic poetry enjoyers who think they're better than everyone?
i got through 3/4 of the episode before deciding to check if it's really the correct one (by reading the first episode synopsis on the wiki). of course not.
it was the fucking 88th episode.

The problem with writing Missing-Link fanfic before the game is out is that half of my actual predictions are wildly different from what I'm writing, but the other half are important plot points, so I have to say things like, "I think Lodur's going to appear and house Brain's heart a la Sora and Ven, and that happens because [redacted]," and I have to sit here for five to ten weeks before I can actually talk about it.
