Chapter 1!

I've been a pure AOSP (Android) person since the Nexus days. Those devices were seamless and fluid as it could get in regards to Android OS. I'd have to say that when it came to smooth transition and fluid gestures it was always Windows Phone OS. That is until they decided to pull the plug on the entire platform, maybe the over purchase of Nokia was enough for them to make that decision to just throw in the cards ? Maybe not, maybe they just decided to leave the Mobile OS wars to iPhone (iOS) and Google (AOSP) but nevermind that. I bought it first Google Pixel (6 Pro) back in April when my iPhone 12 Pro was stolen at the Dulles International Airport (DC) and it probably was the best decision that I've made since switching from Android to the iOS back in (2016) with the iPhone 7 simply because the Nexus program was axed. I didn't know I was missing out on a better experience and just as fluid which is what I go for because I do enjoy the User Interface and palette of colors and options within the Vanilla OS experience. Unlike no other right now, Android 14 is sh°°°° on iOS. I have an iPhone 13 that my sister gifted me with she bought the iPhone 15. I have experienced iOS 17 it's dope I have to say but it's just little gimmicks in comparison to Android. I'm trying to make the decision whether or not to just shell out the $1077 for the Pixel 8 Pro. Why, the Pro ? Because when it comes to the Google Pixel 8 you gotta go Pro or go home. That's just how I see it. The extra $300 is totally understandable and the comparison of the specs the internal infrastructure and the experience. I'm really waiting for the pixel OS to finally become phased in.

Android 14. Solid AF, but with all of the other OEMs scrambling to develop their own OS, it seems like it's going to be rather sooner than later. I haven't met anyone with the iPhone 15 Pro Max so I can't really give my opinion on it but I haven't either seen or experienced the Pixel 8 Pro or Pixel 8, for that matter. Probably won't start seeing them for another week or so and adding the fact that there's only a certain type of person who will order the 8 Pro variant, I'll say at least til November. I've yet to tinker with either, If there was a Google Store location here in Orlando, Florida I would have been done that but apparently it's too small of a market to even invest on Google's behalf. The differentiation from my pixel 6 Pro and regards to Android 14. There is a differentiation between the devices that you're running the OS on. Whether you know it or not, it does exist. I know it sounds cliche or over the wall but this is why people spend the amounts of money they spend on flagship devices.

These play-alongs can be purchased through a number of channels, including the traditional booklet, complete with CD, from musical instrument stores, and the audio separately, per track, on iTunes. They are stereo tracks with instruments well isolated to the right or left channel, allowing users to select the mix by changing the stereo balance. The collection started in the 1970s and now comprises about 120 separate albums, each with a booklet. These can be considered collaborations between Jamey Aebersold and top musicians, with Jamey managing the entire exercise and creating comprehensive, high-quality booklets of lead sheets and scales. These are the gold standard.

Hal Leonard’s Real Book

When Hal Leonard legitimised the then-Berkely fake books into their Real Books, they took the opportunity to supply backing tracks that match the lead sheets in their Real Books. Pure Genius. You can buy these backing tracks separately in the format of USB sticks if you already have the books. Well worth getting.

Hal Leonard has diversified its retailing channels to include online sales.

Hal Leonard also supplies many other play-along books for specific artists or genres, including their multi-track products.

Ralph Patt

Ralph Patt, now deceased, generously created practice backing tracks that he released into the public domain in a guitar user group for the aid of all musicians. These, like those of Jamey Aebersold, are stereo with instruments isolated to either the left or right channel. They generally have fast tempos. Ralph was a good musician; we will always be thankful for his legacy. These tracks do not benefit from the same team of musicians behind them that Jamey Aebersold’s did, but for a sole contributor, they are a real achievement and well worth trying. They do not come with lead sheets, but the tempos are shown. Ralph also published the ‘Vanilla Book’, a book of chord charts for many Jazz and Blues standards. Many of his backing tracks are covered in his Vanilla Book.

Real Book Software

Real Book Software tracks are also based on Real Books and come from an independent supplier, focusing on their complete software product. You can purchase the Jazz Play-Along backing tracks separately from the software product. These tracks are an inexpensive option and worth considering for the added variety they provide. The musical key is shown, and every song generally comes in multiple renditions, such as with and without piano comping, and other variations, such as tempo, repeats and key. We do not have any experience with Real Book Software, software product, which has had mixed reviews, but we have tried the stand-alone backing track collection and enjoyed it.

Bobby’s Backing Tracks

Bobby’s are quality tracks by dedicated musicians. Direct, online sales from their website are the only option. They deal with stems and supply minus-one mixes (no bass, no drums or no keys). They serve the gigging community as much as the practising one. You will listen carefully to the track to figure out its arrangement. They suit more those who learn their tracks through listening critically rather than expecting everything to be supplied upfront, as you would get from educators such as Jamey Aebersold. What you do get, though, is quality backing, easily acquired through their online store. It is not cheap, but a good option to consider, particularly if you want to perform with the tracks.

JazzBacks

JazzBacks are based in the UK and use a similar business model to Bobby’s – High-quality tracks using modern equipment for practice or performance direct from their website. JazzBacks proudly do not include fade endings or verbal count-ins and provide copious supporting materials. Their downloads are ZIPs which include the audio file, and multiple chord charts (per instrument type, so C, Eb and Bb), so you know which chords to use and the arrangement, such as,

ARC 3 of this AU's wilddd

For some context, I've recently started rewriting a proper timeline for Intertwined Opposites' main events. There is a total of four "ARCs/ACTs" i'll be writing down for the main story, with an ACT 0 being the prologue story and ACT 4 being an epilogue during it's ladder half

Right now with all the current animatics, time-line wise the last entry would be "Ivanushka". Which is a closer to ARC 2 and opener to ARC 3, though I'd like to touch more on the previous acts in future animatics, since I feel like what I gave yall's still too lacking in my personal opinion hsjfhd (If school and motivation don't go too hard on me hahdnsnf). There are tons of things I'd like to touch more on aughhhh (Mainly some sweet sweet character dynamics)

Ora che, anagraficamente, non ho più il diritto di infastidirmi se da sconosciuti vengo apostrofata con l'epiteto “Signora”, mi è concesso di poter stilare una serie di consigli non richiesti e piccole verità alle quali sono giunta in queste prime tre decadi di vita, a tratti da sola ed a tratti grazie alle accortezze che mia madre ha sempre avuto il buon senso di inculcarmi.

Primo fra tutti, che nessuna donna può concedersi il lusso di presentarsi in pubblico senza almeno un filo di trucco, quel tanto che basta da cancellare le piccole imperfezioni che ci fanno sembrare ingiustamente più stanche di quello che in realtà siamo. Le occhiaie, se si è amanti dell'allure bohémien, si possono concedere: auto convizione che cerco di infondermi, per accettare l'occhio stanco che madre natura mi ha assegnato e che l'andare a letto routinariamente dopo mezzanotte di certo non aiuta. Dunque: un buon fondotinta (Clinique Even Better 70 Vanilla è ormai diventato un santino sulla mensola del bagno), un mascara che ti trasforma in cerbiatto, ombretto nude che apre lo sguardo, un phard rosato che ci rende tutte un po' più sane e con lo zigomo un po' più alto ed, immancabile, una tinta per le labbra. E la mascherina non deve essere un pretesto per non metterlo: ognuna dovrebbe avere una tinta nude ed una tinta rossa da sfoggiare la sera e perché no anche la mattina, come insegnano le parigine. Trucco basico per qualsiasi occasione e per tutte le ore del giorno e della notte: sarà il rossetto a mutare e a fare l'occasione.

Secondo: struccarsi sempre. La mamma è sempre stata intransigente su questo. Crema idratante sul viso la sera prima di andare a letto e la mattina dopo essersi lavate la faccia con l'acqua gelida per creare shock termico e mentale. Lo scrub una volta alla settimana, il martedì magari, ed una maschera ravvivante il giovedì.

Terzo: trovare il proprio profumo iconico, che quando passi le persone capiscono che sei proprio tu, che riempie la sciarpa ed i colli dei maglioni e l'abitacolo della macchina. Noi siamo un profumo. Poison Hypnotique di Dior: altro santino sulla mensola del bagno. Bordeaux brillante. Rigorosamente Eu de parfum, eu de toilette è bandito come l'aceto di mele nell'insalata. Vorrei avere pure io un profumo di quelli che hanno un numero come nome o di qualche marchio sconosciuto ma ridondante e super costoso, ma lui è stato scelto e lui rimane, pensando che se si aggiunge erroneamente una ESSE diventerebbe “Poisson” , che di profumato ha ben poco.

Quarto: trovare la borsa dei sogni per tutti i giorni, che va bene sia per infilarci dentro il Mac, che per andare a bere un calice di vino alle 17.00 prima della chiusura e dopo il lavoro quando ci si riesce. Una borsa per le occasioni speciali. Nera, preferibilmente, che sta su tutto, con tutto ed, anche, con tutti – uomini, amiche, mamma, sorella.

Quinto: capispalla lunghi fino alle caviglie, altro must have di origine materna, da poter declinare sia con il vestito lungo dell'ultimo dell'anno di una volta, con la gonna da zingara, ma anche quando desideriamo un back to the teens e sfoderiamo la mini gonna o gli shorts che nostra mamma ci guarda di sbieco. Ma se le gambe sono ancora belle: perché nasconderle?

Quinto: la scarpa dei sogni. Preferibilmente con un lieve tacco, che alza il derrière dal suolo, ci allunga la falcata e perché no, la gamba. Da non disdegnare anche i mocassini, che con la braga giusta ci stanno come il cappuccino a colazione ed il the alle cinque di pomeriggio.

Sesto: lo scrittore preferito. Da collezionarne tutti i libri e da mostrare come arma vincente nelle discussioni da pseudo intellettuali che si possono intavolare in rare occasioni (Murakami amore infinito e sconsiderato). Non da meno un buon indirizzo musicale e, se sono i Backstreet Boys, saper argomentare bene la propria posizione. Il film del cuore, qualche citazione storica e un attore da adorare – Pierce Brosnan rimarrà sempre lui e solo lui, insieme ad Alain Delon, Sean Connery e Kevin Costner.

Settimo: fare un rapido calcolo di quelle che sono le buone amiche e tenersele strette come fossero un paio di scarpe bramate durante i saldi, perché si avrà sempre bisogno di una spalla su cui piangere, con cui bere e -non mentite- con cui sparlare e dare sfogo all'innata necessità di gossip.

Ottavo: santificare le sorelle e i fratelli. Incontrarli almeno una volta a settimana, che sia fisicamente o telematicamente.

Nono: stampare foto, perchè questi cellulari ci annebbiano i ricordi, che se guardi la cronologia prendi paura a vedere come sei cambiata negli ultimi tre anni.

Decimo: decidere una pizza preferita, un gusto di gelato preferito, il vino preferito, il caffè preferito. È necessario avere un indirizzo nelle basi della cucina, giusto da non metterci più di cinque minuti a decidere un piatto dal menù, che l'indecisione involgarisce ed annoia. Da vegetariana sono limitata. A voi il pesce, le mucche e gli alci, a me i contorni, grazie.

Direi che per ora dieci sono più che sufficienti.
