Factors that Affect Import Export Business
Exports and imports are one of the most important parts of the business which decides a country's growth and decline in its gross domestic product. There are various methods which influence a particular business to grow and earn profits in the Import Export Business. Also, supplying goods to other countries helps a company earn more money with lesser risks involved than supplying the same in the domestic market where the timely payment collection is the major issue.
Let us know some of the Factors that affect Import Export Business:
1. Trade Restrictions in the Target Market
A company's profit is measured by the relaxation in trade it gets. In other words, a relaxation in the trade restrictions in the foreign country gives more advantage to the domestic firms to supply their products easily to other countries. Thus, domestic firms to maximize profits easily.
2. Inflation
Inflation is one of the factors that highly influence an Import Export Business, as a country’s inflation rate decides the country’s competitiveness in the international market. When there is a rise in the inflation rate, local firms’ domestic households are more likely to import, which makes it difficult for a domestic firm to export their product in the international market. Similarly, a fall in the rate of inflation increases the country's competitiveness in the international market, helping to increase exports and reduce imports.
3. Productivity
More productive a country’s workers are, the less are the labor costs per unit and cheaper its products. Productivity plays an important role in the country's Import Export Business, which means, a rise in the productivity will lead to a greater number of households and companies to purchase more of the country's products. So, exports are more likely to take place and imports fall.
4. Exchange Rate
The country’s exchange rate affects the Import Export Business as a fall in the exchange rate of a country will lower the export prices and increase the import prices for the goods. Lower export prices will more likely to increase in the value of exports, thus lowering the amount which is spent on its imports.
5. Domestic and Foreign GDP influences the Import Export Business
A rise in income directly influences an individual’s capability to buy more products. When it comes to import and export, then a rise in the incomes at homes will lead to more imports, helping the firms to buy more raw materials and capital goods from the domestic market as well as abroad. This rise in the domestic demand also encourages domestic firms to shift from the foreign to the domestic market, which results in a fall in the exports.
Similarly, if the income abroad increases, it will encourage foreigners to buy more products, thus enabling the country to export more in the international market.
6. Quality of a Product
The quality of a product produced in a particular country may affect the trade of import and exports. As a fall in the quality of a country's product, compared to other countries would badly affect the country's balance of trade in goods and services of an Import Export Business.
