19 Famosos mexicanos que, en realidad, son argentinos

En las telenovelas y series mexicanas hay muchos galanes y divas que nos sacan suspiros cada vez que aparecen en la pantalla, pero rara vez nos detenemos a pensar si positivamente son mexicanos o no. Y la verdad es que varios artistas que protagonizan nuestras novelas y programas preferidos son argentinos. Ellos decidieron probar suerte en tierras aztecas y la obtuvieron a lo excelso, pues no solo les dieron vida a personajes muy populares, sino que además conquistaron los corazones de cientos de personas.

Genial.guru quiere hablarte sobre algunos artistas argentinos que supieron ganarse un circunscripción entre las estrellas mexicanas.

1. Sebastián Rulli

En sus inicios, Sebastián Rulli trabajó como maniquí en Europa, Estados Unidos y México. En este postrero país tuvo la oportunidad de efectuar, así que se matriculó en el Centro de Educación Artística de Televisa. Su primera aparición en pantalla fue en un papel pequeño en la telenovela Primer acto sexual — a mil por hora en el año 2000. A partir de entonces, ganó popularidad, participando en muchas otras telenovelas. Su postrero trabajo fue en Papá a toda mamá en 2018, donde tuvo un papel principal.

2. Patricio Borghetti

Patricio llegó a México en la decenio del 90, aunque antiguamente ya había participado de programas de televisión argentinos. Su primera aparición en la pantalla mexica fue en DKDA, sueños de nubilidad, una telenovela musical. Ahora conduce el software Venga la alegría adyacente con otras estrellas mexicanas.

3. Saúl Lisazo

Saúl nació en Buenos Aires. Comenzó su carrera como futbolista, pero luego de una magulladura se volcó al modelaje y, por postrero, a la función en México. Participó en muchísimas telenovelas con roles principalmente antagónicos. En 2019 fue Roberto Mendoza en el remake Betty en NY.

4. René Strickler

Nació en la provincia argentina de Córdoba, pero en 1987 llegó a México para quedarse. Antes de ser actor fue maniquí, pero su mentor, Sergio Jiménez, lo incentivó a que probara suerte en el set. A partir de ese momento participó en numerosas telenovelas, y el año pasado lo hizo en Soltero con hijas, en el papel de Juve del Paso.

5. Juan Soler

Su carrera comenzó como componente de rugby en su ciudad originario, Tucumán, en Argentina. Luego hizo algunos trabajos como maniquí, hasta que se decidió por la función. En la decenio del 90 viajó a México para trabajar con el asociación Televisa, aunque luego se cambió a Telemundo. Actualmente es un invitado peculiar en la telenovela Rubí.

6. Fernando del Solar

Vive en México desde muy chavea, desempeñándose como actor y conductor de diversos programas televisivos, aunque además participó en algunas películas. En 2019 regresó como conductor del software Todo un show, donde comparte pantalla con otros famosos.

7. Cecilia Galliano

Víctor Trujillo la invitó a participar como Afrodita en las transmisiones que hacía Televisa para las olimpiadas del año 2004. Antes, Cecilia fue maniquí en Argentina, su país originario. Luego de radicarse en tierra mexica, fue presentadora de varios programas y actuó en telenovelas. Ahora se la puede ver en Sabadazo.

8. Diego Olivera

Comenzó a efectuar desde muy pequeño. Nacido en Argentina, tuvo muchas participaciones en la pantalla chica hasta que TV Azteca lo eligió para protagonizar Montecristo. A partir de allí se lo pudo ver en diversos papeles de telenovelas. Fue ruin, actor sideral, de reparto y protagónico, como en la telenovela Y mañana será otro día.

9. Mónica Ayos

Como buena hija de artistas, Mónica Ayos tiene en su activo una larga trayectoria en la pantalla chica y excelso. En 2011 fue contratada por Televisa para darle vida al papel de villana en el remake Cristal. Es esposa del actor Diego Olivera, con quien ha trabajado en varias telenovelas.

10. Santiago Ramundo

Es cantante, actor y abogado, aunque prefiere el set de filmación. Desde muy chavea participó en todo tipo de programas de televisión y teatro. En 2016 hizo el papel de Luca de la Colina en Sueño de Amor, y siguió trabajando para la televisión mexicana desde entonces. Este año, por ejemplo, tuvo una función peculiar en Médicos, confín de vida.

11. Rodrigo Guirao Díaz

Empezó trabajando como electricista, cadete, mesero. Luego comenzó a modelar. Al mismo tiempo, hacía pequeños papeles en telenovelas juveniles. Su trayectoria incluye una permanencia en Italia, donde filmó dos series. En 2019, Televisa lo contrató para formar parte del personal de Rubí.

12. Alejandro Gibeli

Primero fue futbolista, pero pronto se dio cuenta de que le gustaba efectuar. Para retribuir sus estudios trabajó como maniquí. Empezó haciendo apariciones en telenovelas juveniles argentinas, a las cuales le siguieron papeles más importantes en televisión y teatro. En 2019 recibió una invitación para integrar el personal de La casa de las flores, una serie mexicana que se puede ver por Netflix.

13. Horacio Pancheri

Se trasladó a México en 2012 y comenzó a estudiar función. Una vez reconocido, debutó en la telenovela El color de la pasión. Abriles más tarde tuvo su primer protagónico en Un camino en torno a el destino, y va por mucho más.

14. Sol Madrigal

Formada en las mejores escuelas de teatro y danza, Sol Madrigal terminó conquistando a los mexicanos. Participó como conductora en Venga la alegría, y luego firmó entendimiento para trabajar en Doña Flor y sus dos maridos, en el papel de Cassandra.

15. Michel Brown

Su primera aparición en televisión fue en un software joven argentino. Después tuvo pequeñas participaciones en telenovelas, pero fue en México donde su carrera alcanzó la cima. Aunque además trabajó en otros países latinoamericanos, la televisión mexica nunca le soltó la mano. En 2019 tuvo un importante papel en la serie histórica Hernán, como Pedro de Alvarado, el ruin conquistador.

16. Gastón Ricaud

En 2009 debutó en la televisión mexicana interpretando a Joséfo en Los exitosos Pérez, la cual, en parte fue grabada en Argentina. En esa oportunidad se codeó con estrellas tan grandes como Verónica Castro.

17. Iván Espeche

Otro actor argentino que apareció en la telenovela Los exitosos Pérez. En su país originario interpretó interesantes papeles protagónicos al banda de grandes actrices como Romina Gaetani y Araceli González, tanto en teatro como en cine.

18. Christian Bach

Hija de la primera bayadera del Teatro Colón de Buenos Aires, decidió estudiar Derecho. Pero la muerte artística fue más robusto, pues pronto comenzó a hacer apariciones en novelas argentinas. Cuando se graduó como abogada, se trasladó a México para trabajar como actriz. Su primer papel fue al banda de otra argentina, Libertad Lamarque, en la telenovela Soledad. Su postrero papel lo obtuvo en La impostora, donde interpretó a la villana Raquel Altamira.

19. Mariana Karr

La carrera artística de Mariana Karr empezó en su país de comienzo, Argentina. Allí era considerada una mujer fatídico de la pantalla. En 1994 decidió trasladarse a la tierra mexicana, donde trabajó adyacente a las grandes divas de las telenovelas. Uno de sus últimos papeles lo obtuvo en la novelística de época La mujer del Vendaval, grabada en 2012.

CONTESSA: ONE YEAR OF WOMEN EMPOWERMENT

In the United Kingdom, it will air on Weeknights at 8:30 PM before Family Guy. The UK Version will be dubbed in English by British actors. It will also adopt the GMA version for their title card. If aired on CBS, It will air on Weeknights at 9:00 PM.

March is Women's Month but on GMA Network, Something is coming to empower to your screens

Following the successful year-long run of ‘Ika-6 na Utos’, GMA looked to fill in the big shoes that the former left. They decided to replace ‘Ika-6 na Utos’ with a series that reminded viewers of another successful teleserye from a rival network.

From the moment ‘Contessa”s teaser was aired, netizens immediately compared the series to ABS-CBN’s ‘Wildflower’ due to their similar storylines of revenge. But ‘Contessa’ lead star Glaiza de Castro (from Ikaw Lang Ang Mamahalin, Berks, Spirits, Amaya, Temptation of Wife, The Rich Man's Daughter, Encantadia 2016, Mulawin vs. Ravena) had a different take, saying that her upcoming show focuses more on a woman’s constant quest for justice. In ‘Contessa’, Glaiza is initially known as Bea, a woman who is accused and imprisoned for a crime she never committed. Determined to seek revenge and reclaim those who were taken away from her, she assumes a new identity, that of Contessa.

Throughout the series, ‘Contessa’ will feature some important characters who will be crucial to the story of Bea/Contessa. Marco (Mark Herras, from Click, Love to Love, original Encantadia, I Luv NY, Party Pilipinas, Time of my Life, Hiram na Puso, Sunday All Stars, Rhodora X, Pari'Koy, Little Nanay, Wish I May, Sa Piling ni Nanay) is a writer and Bea’s long-time boyfriend whose gruesome murder will be central to the evolution of Bea into Contessa. Marco’s brother Gabriel (Geoff Eigenmann, from Ang TV, Kiara, Ano ang Hukay ng Pag-Ibig, Kahit Kailan, Love to Love, Hiram, Ikaw ang Lahat sa Akin, Rounin, Lobo, SOP Rules, Rosalinda, Party Pilipinas, Show Me Da Manny, Grazilda, Dangwa, La Luna Sangre) is a successful OFW who returns to the country following his murder. Meanwhile, Bea’s best friend Jong (Jak Roberto, from The Half Sisters, Pari'Koy, A1 Ko Sa'Yo, Meant to Be) is a secret admirer of hers who hopes to love him back.

The Imperial family, led by the matriarch Charito (Chanda Romero, from original Villa Quintana, Vietnam Rose, Kidlat, My Husband's Lover, Ismol Family, Pari 'Koy, The Half Sisters, Once Again, Legally Blind) and her children Vito (Gabby Eigenmann, from Palibhasa Lalake, Love to Love, Sugo, I Luv NY, Marimar, Darna, All About Eve, Mundo Mo'y Akin, Pari 'Koy, InstaDad, Sa Piling ni Nanay, My Love from the Star) and Daniella (Lauren Young, from Lobo, Dahil May Isang Ikaw, Tanging Yaman, Midnight DJ, Mula Sa Puso 2011, Oka2Kat, Mundo Mo'y Akin, Dormitoryo, Genesis, Hiram na Alaala, MariMar, Poor Señorita, Legally Blind), will serve as a major obstacle to Bea/Contessa’s plans for justice. In typical villainous fashion, the Imperials are considered manipulative, influential, sophisticated and powerful individuals who will do whatever is necessary to destroy the protagonist.

Completing the rest of the cast are Tetchie Agbayani (from Basta't Kasama Kita, Got to Believe, Flordeliza, Dolce Amore, The Greatest Love), Leandro Baldemor (from Encantadia 2016), Dominic Roco (from Qpids, Super Inggo, Zorro, Darna, Grazilda, Indio, Destined to be Yours), Bernadette Allyson, Melissa Mendez (from Esperanza, Anna Luna, P.S. I Love You, original Pangako Sa'Yo, Indio), Tanya Gomez (from Kokey, Oka2Kat, Alyas Robin Hood), Karel Marquez (from Magandang Tanghali Bayan, Berks, Pidol's Wonderland, My Husband's Lover, Rhodora X, La Luna Sangre), Phytos Ramirez (from the both versions of Encantadia, Gulong ng Palad, Mara Clara, Mula Sa Puso 2011, Oh, My Mama!, Alyas Robin Hood), Denise Barbacena (from Little Nanay, A1 Ko Sa'Yo, Legally Blind, Bubble Gang) and Will Ashley (from Villa Quintana 2013, Alyas Robin Hood, Destined to be Yours). ‘Contessa’ was directed by Albert Langitan who came from his previous work Impostora 2017.

Replacing a top-rating series in ‘Ika-6 na Utos’ will be a daunting one for ‘Contessa’. In order for viewers to commit to this new series in the long term, some interesting bits and pieces are needed to make ‘Contessa’ worth watching, a task that is difficult to fill considering it will go head-to-head with ‘It’s Showtime”s ‘Tawag ng Tanghalan’ segment and "Ipaglaban Mo".

With all things considered, GMA should only hope for the best with ‘Contessa’. It may never be able to replicate the ratings of ‘Ika-6 na Utos’, but if it all goes well, who knows what will happen next.

Through its first nine episodes, GMA’s ‘Contessa’ was only able to average 10% in the ratings according to Kantar. In contrast, ABS-CBN’s ‘It’s Showtime’ raked in around 17%, and while its numbers declined by around 2% during the Holy Week, it was still enough to dispatch ‘Contessa’.

Even the first Saturday episode of ‘Contessa’ on March 24 was a flop, as it earned only 9.9% compared to ‘It’s Showtime”s 17.4%. By comparison, the finale of ‘Ika-6 na Utos’ which aired the previous Saturday finished with a 20.6% rating, 10.7% better than its successor.

The slow start of ‘Contessa’ should cause plenty of concern within GMA Network. Following up a successful afternoon drama in ‘Ika-6 na Utos’ was no easy task, but no one expected ‘Contessa’ to fall way below expectations. However on the AGB Nielsen, Contessa registered high ratings compared to It's Showtime and Ipaglaban Mo, both from ABS-CBN.

In the days leading up to its premiere there were some doubts on whether or not ‘Contessa’ will have a Saturday episode. Initially, GMA considered having ‘Contessa’ air only from Monday to Friday, but when the network realized that they lack suitable replacements for the 2:30 p.m. slot, they reluctantly added a Saturday episode on ‘Contessa’.

In doing so GMA gave ‘Contessa’ enormously high expectations to succeed. Unfortunately, ‘Contessa’ didn’t come close to sustaining ‘Ika-6 na Utos” high viewership, and it also didn’t help that its first foray into Saturdays failed to produce the desired result. Perhaps it is those bandwagon viewers that only showed up during ‘Ika-6 na Utos’ and then switched to ‘It’s Showtime’ and other programs once it ended. Or perhaps GMA dramas have had a history of starting slow and then occasionally picking up ratings midway through. Whatever the reason, it was clear that ‘Contessa’ underachieved from the get-go. Adding a Saturday episode was a huge mistake and the possibility of viewer burnout became more apparent. But as far as GMA is concerned, ‘Contessa’ has had only one Saturday episode so far (there was no episode during Black Saturday) so it is too early to tell. Still, it remains to be seen whether or not succeeding episodes will increase viewership and give ‘Contessa’ some much-needed respectability. The series concluded on September 8, 2018 after 147 Episodes the was replaced by "Ika-5 Utos" then "Asawa Ko, Karibal Ko" on October of that year after Ika-5 Utos took over the 3:25 PM timeslot from "The Stepdaughters". The theme song of the series was "Dito Sa Aking Mundo" by Glaiza de Castro. That song was originally sung by Richard Reynoso.

Aftermath Glaiza de Castro, who played a double role as Bea and Contessa would appear in Victor Magtanggol as Pirena reuniting with fellow Encantadia casts, Kylie Padilla, Sanya Lopez and Gabbi Garcia before resuming her music career.

Chanda Romero would later appear in a Telebabad series "Cain At Abel" together with Leandro Baldemor two months later. However, the show would be replaced by Roberto's next series "Kara Mia".

Lauren Young would appear in a late morning series "Hiram na Anak". Gabby Eigenmann would appear in another Afternoon Prime series "Inagaw na Bituin" alongside Patricia Tumulak.

Jak Roberto would appear with his girlfriend Barbie Forteza in a Telebabad series "Kara Mia" which replaced Romero's and Baldemor's last show "Cain at Abel".

International Broadcasts In Kazakhstan, The series premiered on January 15, 2019 as "Kohtecca" on Channel 7 Kazakhstan. The series was dubbed in Kazakh instead of Tagalog. But it wasn't aired in Latin America similar to Legalmente Ciega (Legally Blind).

However, If Contessa brings to the United States, It will air on either Networks: ABC, CBS, Fox and NBC. This series will be dubbed in full English by American actors. The title card will adopt the GMA Version.

If aired on CBS, It will air on Wednesdays at 9:00 PM.

If aired on Fox, It will air on Weeknights at 11:00 PM

Sisters Vs Sisters

Pirena lost consciousness after deflecting Odessa’s arrow with her own bare hands, apparently the bows were enchanted which could either kill or knock someone unconscious, Pirena woke up only to find herself tied up. Hagorn left the matters to his Mashnas, Asval was still mystified as to how Pirena got through the barriers, Alena and Danaya emerged from the earth (through Danaya’s gem) and attacked the camp, a battle ensued between the sisters and the Etherians, Odessa died in the hands of Danaya. In retaliation, Andora used her power and forced the sisters to fight each other, the remaining Mashnas and Etherians watched in delight as the sang’gres kill each other. Fortunately, a group of Adamyans led by Memfes came and rescued the sang’gres, the Adamyans are immune to Andora’s mind control powers, the Adamyans and the diwatas made it back to Lireo safely. As a reward for saving them, Danaya initially wanted to hand Memfes a bag of gold but the latter refused and was already contented to know that his beloved Alena is safe, Memfes kissed Alena’s hand before he left which surprised everyone including her sisters and began teasing her, even Muros, Aquil and Imaw couldn’t help themselves.

Saving Devas

Emre and Cassiopeia successfully made it to Devas’ entrance where they were hindered by Ether, Emre used the de-jar against the evil goddess and warned him that if she does not let them through, Emre will kill her. Ether let him be, afterall her poison has already spread through Emre and Cassiopeia’s bodies, Keros faced the two and taunted Emre. The latter knew he no longer have the strength to fight him, he vowed to return and fight them, but first, he and Cassiopeia must get the antidote for Ether’s poison.

The Attack in Lireo (again)

Mine-a gathered weapons that will be used for their battle against Lireo, on her way back, she encountered a man and a woman—Amarro and Lila Sari, the former recognized her and immediately paid her respects to Mine-a which puzzled the latter, Amarro and Lila Sari sensed that Ether must have wiped out Mine-a’s memories like what she did to Lila Sari, Amarro revealed that Mine-a is the former queen of Lireo and her daughters are the sang’gres she fought a couple of times. In exchange for giving answers to Mine-a’s questions, Hara-Durye agreed to help the two enter the camp without Hagorn noticing. Mine-a returned with a chest full of weapons, when everything was set, they immediately left. When everything was peaceful and quiet, Amarro and Lila Sari began searching for Deshna. The young Hathor was being guarded by Hagorn’s soldiers, however, Deshna found a way to escape, she was determined to leave her father for good.

Fire works lit the night sky which the Lirean guards mistook as someone or some place holding a party, Manik knew it was the other way around, he began searching for Ariana and forced her to leave with him but was stopped by Hitano and Aquil. Manik really have no intentions of hurting any of them and just wanted to leave with Ariana, nevertheless he revealed that the enemies are planning to attack the kingdom. The diwatas prepared for battle, the new guardians were finally given permission to fight, Imaw volunteered to help the engkantados escpae. The Lirean soldiers met the Etherians at the palace’s entrance, through Juvila’s powers, Hagorn, Mine-a and Andora made it effortlessly inside, now the the three infiltrated the palace, it was now time to do what they have to do. The sisters dreaded the idea of facing Mine-a once again, nevertheless they have their duties and responsibilities, afterall they are not just daughters of Mine-a, but they are also daughters of Encantadia, the sisters agreed not to hesitate to kill Mine-a if needed.

👏🏻 Hm…seems like Emre has already answered our prayers eh, I haven’t forgotten what they have said that another gem keeper is going to perish and I think it will definitely be Ariana, I may sound really mean but her character has to go. They failed to develop Ariana as Amihan and Arra failed to deliver anyway, it’s about time to free Amihan’s ivtre. I wouldn’t be shocked if Ariana dies this week, with all honesty, I don’t care that much. The show has been killing a lot of characters lately so bakit hindi nalang sagarin? Total annihilation? At this point I’m already used to character deaths so…whatever.

💚Pero in fairness naman to that Alena-Memfes scene, mej kinilig ako ng slight. Good job at Gabbi for making that scene work, I gotta say Lance did fairly well, not what I was expecting but at least it’s not that malamya compared to Arra’s so-called acting. Love that team Lireo still knows how to take some things lightly and still haven’t forgotten to smile even if it’s just for a little while.

💎Hm…what else? Oh yes, yes I am actually excited at Mine-a vs her daughters scene! I doubt they’ll be able to "kill” Mine-a (they can’t really kill Mine-a since she’s an ivtre) but if it’s possible that would be so fuckin’ epic, just imagining the sang’gres’ faces are priceless, and then Mine-a will break free from the spell, return to Devas and gather back ups so that psycho Hagorn will be killed. Hahahahahaha!

🤔I am frustrated at how Emre did not use the de-jar to kill Ether when he had the chance, that’s incredibly stupid, or if killing a god isn’t possible, then why not banish her somewhere, or turn her into a stone or whatever? Come on seriously?

🙄Wala na talaga akong aasahan kay Arra, until the end she has proven that she does not deserve her role and she does not deserve to be a part of Enca’s cast ensemble. I hope Mulawin does not make the same mistake Encantadia did and although I don’t have any plans of following MVR’s story because I never watched the prequel, I wish them all the best, still deciding which show will I make a review—will it be Jennylyn’s My Love from another star or Impostora which is by the way one of my favorite GMA shows because it starred Iza and Shine back then, although I am crossing my fingers that the network will also come up with new and original shows, preferably a psycho-thriller like La Vendetta, I miss seeing shows like that on Philippine TV.

LOOK: Lumen’s twin daughters from the old Surf commercials have really come far!

When we think about iconic TV commercials from the late ’90s to the early 2000s, we really can’t help but remember the legendary Surf commercials of the time, featuring Lumen’s twins. It actually started with Lumen’s love story, but people seemed to enjoy the serial-esque Surf commercials so much so that they had to extend it to Lumen and his husband giving birth to twins, and even up to the twins growing up!

Now, Lumen’s twins have come so far from their very first exposure in those Surf commercials of years past. Charlotte and Charice Hermoso have definitely given all of us something more to remember them from, aside from being Lumen’s twins.

In 2007, the twins played the roles of Lara and Sara in the TV series ‘Impostora.’

Charlotte Angela Caparas Hermoso and Charice Andrea Caparas Hermoso study at the University of Perpetual Help System-Dalta in Las Piñas City. From the photos they post on social media, it seems the two really love dressing up and posing for the camera.

Remembering Contessa

Two years ago on March 19, Contessa took over the timeslot of Ika-6 Na Utos on the Afternoon Prime block.

In ‘Contessa’, Glaiza is initially known as Bea, a woman who is accused and imprisoned for a crime she never committed. Determined to seek revenge and reclaim those who were taken away from her, she assumes a new identity, that of Contessa.

Marco’s brother Gabriel (Geoff Eigenmann, from Ang TV, Kiara, Ano ang Hukay ng Pag-Ibig, Kahit Kailan, Love to Love, Hiram, Ikaw ang Lahat sa Akin, Rounin, Lobo, SOP Rules, Rosalinda, Party Pilipinas, Show Me Da Manny, Grazilda, Dangwa, La Luna Sangre) is a successful OFW who returns to the country following his murder. Meanwhile, Bea’s best friend Jong (Jak Roberto, from The Half Sisters, Pari'Koy, A1 Ko Sa'Yo, Meant to Be) is a secret admirer of hers who hopes to love him back.

The Imperial family, led by the matriarch Charito (Chanda Romero, from original Villa Quintana, Vietnam Rose, Kidlat, My Husband’s Lover, Ismol Family, Pari ‘Koy, The Half Sisters, Once Again, Legally Blind) and her children Vito (Gabby Eigenmann, from Palibhasa Lalake, Love to Love, Sugo, I Luv NY, Marimar, Darna, All About Eve, Mundo Mo'y Akin, Pari 'Koy, InstaDad, Sa Piling ni Nanay, My Love from the Star) and Daniella (Lauren Young, from Lobo, Dahil May Isang Ikaw, Tanging Yaman, Midnight DJ, Mula Sa Puso 2011, Oka2Kat, Mundo Mo'y Akin, Dormitoryo, Genesis, Hiram na Alaala, MariMar, Poor Señorita, Legally Blind), will serve as a major obstacle to Bea/Contessa’s plans for justice. In typical villainous fashion, the Imperials are considered manipulative, influential, sophisticated and powerful individuals who will do whatever is necessary to destroy the protagonist.

Completing the rest of the cast are Tetchie Agbayani (from Basta’t Kasama Kita, Got to Believe, Flordeliza, Dolce Amore, The Greatest Love), Leandro Baldemor (from Encantadia 2016), Dominic Roco (from Qpids, Super Inggo, Zorro, Darna, Grazilda, Indio , Destined to be Yours), Bernadette Allyson, Melissa Mendez (from Esperanza, Anna Luna, P.S. I Love You, original Pangako Sa'Yo, Indio), Tanya Gomez (from Kokey, Oka2Kat, Alyas Robin Hood), Karel Marquez (from Magandang Tanghali Bayan, Berks, Pidol’s Wonderland, My Husband’s Lover, Rhodora X, La Luna Sangre), Phytos Ramirez (from the both versions of Encantadia, Gulong ng Palad, Mara Clara, Mula Sa Puso 2011, Oh, My Mama!, Alyas Robin Hood), Denise Barbacena (from Little Nanay, A1 Ko Sa'Yo, Legally Blind, Bubble Gang) and Will Ashley (from Villa Quintana 2014, Alyas Robin Hood, Destined to be Yours). ‘Contessa’ was directed by Albert Langitan who previously directed Teen Gen in 2012, Binoy Henyo in 2013, Ang Lihim ni Annasandra & Rhodora X in 2014, Beautiful Strangers in 2015, The Millionaire's Wife in 2016, Impostora 2017 with Aya Topacio & Super Ma'am with Lord Alvin Madridejos the previous year with a mix of Rhodora X & Impostora 2017's touch blended with Beautiful Strangers.

With the casts being placed on the show, The Show serves as:

1.) a reunion of former Legally Blind casts of Chanda Romero, Lauren Young and Denise Barbacena 2.) a reunion of former Indio casts of Dominic Roco & Melissa Mendez who worked together with Senator Bong Revilla 3.) a reunion of former Alyas Robin Hood casts of Tanya Gomez, Phytos Ramirez & Leandro Baldemor 4.) a reunion of former A1 Ko Sa'Yo casts of Denise Barbacena & Jak Roberto 5.) Albert Langitan's fourth Afternoon Prime show as director but eleventh overall and his solo work since The Millionaire's Wife. 6.) a reunion of former Rhodora X team of Langitan and Karel Marquez who worked together in 2014 7.) a reunion of former Dading casts of Glaiza de Castro and Gabby Eigenmann 8.) Gabby Eigenmann's sixth Afternoon Prime Series

Perhaps it is those bandwagon viewers that only showed up during ‘Ika-6 na Utos’ and then switched to ‘It’s Showtime’ and other programs once it ended. Or perhaps GMA dramas have had a history of starting slow and then occasionally picking up ratings midway through.

Whatever the reason, it was clear that ‘Contessa’ underachieved from the get-go. Adding a Saturday episode was a huge mistake and the possibility of viewer burnout became more apparent.

But as far as GMA is concerned, ‘Contessa’ has had only one Saturday episode so far (there was no episode during Black Saturday) so it is too early to tell. Still, it remains to be seen whether or not succeeding episodes will increase viewership and give ‘Contessa’ some much-needed respectability.

The series concluded on September 8, 2018 after 147 Episodes the was replaced by “Ika-5 Utos” then “Asawa Ko, Karibal Ko” on October of 2018. after Ika-5 Utos took over the 3:25 PM timeslot from “The Stepdaughters”.

The theme song of the series was “Dito Sa Aking Mundo” by Glaiza de Castro. That song was originally sung by Richard Reynoso.

As a result, Contessa surpassed:

Rhodora X's 89 Episodes Ang Lihim ni Annasandra's 88 Episodes Beautiful Strangers' 80 Episodes The Millionaire's Wife's 72 Episodes Binoy Henyo's 45 Episodes Teen Gen's 28 Episodes

But Contessa failed to surpass Impostora 2017's 160 Episodes which is 13 Episodes more than Contessa as the 2nd Most Number of Episodes directed by Albert Langitan

The Cast Nowadays

Glaiza de Castro, who played a double role as Bea and Contessa would appear in Victor Magtanggol as Pirena reuniting with fellow Encantadia casts, Kylie Padilla, Sanya Lopez and Gabbi Garcia before resuming her music career. She will be part of the upcoming series "Seed of Love" with former Ika-6 Na Utos star Mike Tan

Chanda Romero would later appear in a Telebabad series “Cain At Abel” together with Leandro Baldemor two months later. However, the show would be replaced by Roberto’s next series “Kara Mia”. She is currently seen via Prima Donnas with Will Ashley De Leon

Leandro Baldemor later appeared on Cain at Abel with Chanda Romero before appearing on The Gift with Alden Richards

Lauren Young last appeared on TV via the late morning series “Hiram na Anak”

Gabby Eigenmann would appear in another Afternoon Prime series “Inagaw na Bituin” alongside Patricia Tumulak. He is currently seen via Bilangin Ang Bituin Sa Langit with former Inagaw na Bituin star Kyline Alcantara

Geoff Eigenmann would jump ship to ABS-CBN to appear on Precious Hearts Romances Presents: Los Bastardos and then The Killer Bride

Jak Roberto would appear with his girlfriend Barbie Forteza in a Telebabad series “Kara Mia” which replaced Romero’s and Baldemor’s last show “Cain at Abel”

Patricia Tumulak later appeared on Inagaw na Bituin with Gabby Eigenmann. She returned to the former Timeslot of Contessa via "Magkaagaw" which she is still seen today.

Tetchie Agbayani would team up with Dominic Roco via Dahil Sa Pag-Ibig.

Dominic Roco went on to My Special Tatay before reuniting with Tetchie Agbayani in Dahil Sa Pag-Ibig

Phytos Ramirez would later appear in My Special Tatay with Dominic Roco. He last appeared in Madrasta

Mark Herras later appeared in The Cure after his stint in Contessa then in Bihag and Descendants of The Sun Philippines Adaptation together with Nicole Kim Donesa

Will Ashley De Leon reunited with Chanda Romero via Prima Donnas which they are seen today
