Make Their Day Sparkle: Choosing the Perfect Dress for Your Little Star
Tumblr media
Remember the excitement on your child's face when they first announced their upcoming birthday? The endless whispers of party plans, the sparkle in their eyes as they envisioned the perfect celebration... Now, imagine the icing on the cake: finding the perfect birthday dress that makes their eyes shine brighter than any star!
But with countless kids party dress options and children's birthday dress styles, choosing the right one can feel like navigating a fairytale forest blindfolded. Worry not, mama and papa! Let's embark on this magical journey together to find the dress that makes your little one feel like the hero of their own story.
Know Your Tiny Trendsetter:
First, a peek into their fantastical world: Is your child a playful princess who dreams of twirling in a fairytale birthday dress, its layers shimmering like moonlight? Or a budding explorer who prefers comfy rompers perfect for conquering imaginary kingdoms? Let them be your guide! Involving them in the decision fosters ownership and ensures they feel confident and comfortable in their chosen birthday outfit.
The Age of Wonder:
Age plays a key role in picking the ideal dress. For our littlest adventurers (1-3 years old), prioritize comfort and ease of movement with soft, breathable fabrics like cotton. Think toddler birthday dresses with simple designs and easy-to-manage features like elastic waistbands, allowing them to explore their party wonderland freely. Older explorers (4-6 years old) may have more specific preferences. Encourage them to express their style while ensuring the dress allows for active play and fun, making their birthday bash truly legendary.
Themed Adventures Await:
Is their birthday party bursting with a fantastical theme? Let's weave the magic into their outfit! From enchanting unicorn birthday dresses for a fairytale bash to superhero-inspired jumpsuits for a comic book party, incorporating the theme adds a fun touch. But remember, the most important magic lies in their smile. Choose a dress they love, regardless of the theme, and their joy will shine through like a thousand suns!
Accessorize the Adventure:
No adventure is complete without trusty companions! Hair clips, headbands, necklaces, and shoes can elevate the look and add a touch of personality to their kids party dress. Let them choose accessories that complement the dress and express their unique style. But remember, comfort is key – avoid heavy jewelry or overly tight shoes that might hinder their fun at the party.
Quality: A Fairytale Ending:
While budget is a factor, remember: a well-made dress is an investment in memories. Choose dresses made from durable fabrics that can withstand the inevitable spills and jumps of a birthday celebration. Opting for ethically sourced and produced clothing adds a touch of kindness to their story, making their birthday outfit even more special.
Shop with Laughter, Shop Together:
Whether you're browsing online for kids party dresses or venturing into stores, make it a bonding experience! Let them try on different styles, twirl and dance, and see the excitement in their eyes as they find the perfect birthday dress. Remember, it's not just about the dress; it's about creating a cherished memory of choosing their own adventure outfit.
More Than Just a Dress: The Spark of Joy:
Ultimately, the perfect birthday dress is the one that makes your child feel like the hero of their own story. Choose a dress that reflects their personality, allows them to play freely, and most importantly, sparks joy! It can be a princess birthday dress, a unicorn birthday dress, or any other style that makes them feel like they can conquer the world.
Bonus Tip: Capture the magic! Don't forget to take photos and videos of your little one in their birthday dress. These will be cherished memories you can treasure for years to come, reminding you of the sparkle in their eyes and the joy of celebrating their special day.
So, embark on this adventure with an open heart and a touch of magic. Remember, the perfect birthday dress is waiting to be discovered, and its most dazzling accessory is your child's radiant smile!

As a certified Season 3 costumes hater, I think they did Kate especially dirty. In my opinion, Kate's outfits in Season 2 outshine all other outfits in the whole Bridgerton.
Meanwhile, in Season 3, they gave her these muted, drab dresses that don't do her justice. Her worst outfit in Season 2 Is still 10 times better than any of these, in my opinion.
Actually, almost all the costumes in Season 3 look bad: tacky, cheap looking and often not even vaguely regency inspired.
Only Penelope looked nice (and sporadically, Francesca and Alice Mondrich), and even then, I wasn't crazy about her outfits, I only really liked a couple of them.
Talking about Kate's outfits, though, they are lucky that Simone's face card saved the whole situation, otherwhise most of these costumes would be indefendible, and I say this as somebody with very bad taste, clothing wise.
The first one Is...bah. Just bah. Stiff looking, not obscenely ugly, not too nice either.
The red spencer and blue dress combo was actually, cute, especially since it actually has COLOR, something really lacking in Kate's dresses this season. If only It had lasted for more than 3 seconds...
The saree inspired dress leaves me with mixed opinions. I don't hate the cut (though I've heard indian reviewers say that the draping Is nothing like a saree), but the colors don't do It.
The peacock silver overdress Is... something. Now, unlike other people, I won't complain that It looks too matronly, even thought It does, because I actually like this style. It's the rest that bothers me. The ugly plastic-y fabric, the colors that make poor Simone look ashy, the peacock prints that don't match the rest of the outfit...Terrible, truly terrible.
That gown they had her wear at Polin's engagement party Is also a big no-no for me. First, the color doesn't flatter her at all. Second, It looks way too modern even for Bridgerton's standards. I swear, I've seen something similar in that shopping center close to my former high school, sold for 20 euros. And those thin straps bother me. Don't know why, they just do.
The outfit she wears the night before Polin's wedding also leaves me with mixed opinions. The overdress Is nice, but the fabric of the dress Is weird, I cannot quite point out what Is wrong, I simply don't like It.
The dress she wears for Polin's wedding Is my least favorite. Sorry, I hate It. I hate the sheer fabric on the top and the sleeves, I hate that silhouette, I hate those hideous prints. And also the makeup.
The nightswear Is very cute, nothing bad to say about it. Again, if only we saw It for more than 3 seconds...

Mary Leiter, Lady Curzon, wearing a 1903 gown, The Peacock Dress", by Jean-Philippe Worth (House of Worth) • Portrait by William Logsdail (English,1859-1944) • 1909
Tumblr media
The Peacock Dress today behind glass at the Curzon family seat in of Kedleston Hall in Derbyshire, England. Via/ Flickr
Lord and Lady Curzon (who was American) would end up in India, then a part of the English Empire. Lord Curzon was made Viceroy of India, which made his wife the Vicereine- the highest title that a woman in India could hold at the time.
To celebrate the 1902 coronation of King Edward VII, Lord Curzon decided to hold a grand party in honor of the new monarch in 1903, known as the Delhi Durbar. For the occasion, Mary was to have the most incredible gown created which would showcase the talents of Indian artisans, a personal passion of the Vicereine. However, the dress was to be designed and sewn by famed French couturier, House of Worth. The Edwardian gown was made from fabric painstakingly embroidered in India, which was then sent to France to be fashioned before being sent back to India. What makes this gown so unbelievably unique is that every part of the gown and train is embroidered in alternating peacock feather patterns, earning it the nickname of the "Peacock Dress". The decoration comes from metal threads expertly affixed to the fabric. The gown is also embellished with glass beads, rhinestones, and shimmering iridescent green beetle wings. The gown is so covered in embroidery that it weighs 10 pounds, more than the weight of a small load of laundry!
The Resplendent Outfit: The outrageous, extravagant, often humorous, and sometimes beautiful outfits worn by the subjects of old portraits.
Outrageous ? (It depends on where you sit.)
Extravagant ✅️
Humorous. ❎️

Sneaky link - Vedaant Madhavan
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
A/n: Another Indian fan fic cuz I'm obsessed with this guy 🫠🩷
Song recommended: Don't blame me by Taylor Swift (My swiftie heart 🥹🫶)
There was a party going on in the luxurious villa; everyone was busy having fun with their friends and family. I was dressed up in a silky black gown with a slit opened up to expose my legs. I left my hair open with wavy curls, and my makeup was bold yet elegant.
I entered the house and greeted and chatted with many people until my eyes fell on the guy, whom I've been wanting to have forever, Vedaant. He looked really cute and handsome. His hair was kind of curly, styled up in front, but it looked cool. He was wearing a sleek black blazer with a matching shirt paired with black trousers.
We maintained slight eye contact, but I looked somewhere else because I was flustered. Vedaant was approaching me with two glasses in his hands. "So, y/n, did you miss me?" He asked while sipping his drink. "Of course not. Why would I even come here? To see you? Hell nah, I was here for my bestie," I said while scoffing and rolling my eyes.
"You are getting too hard to play, babe," he said while coming closer to me. "W-what do you mean, huh?" I said as I was caught off guard. He held my hand and said, "Come, let's go somewhere else; it's too loud in here," and he dragged me to a beautiful terrace decorated with lights and flowers.
We both sat on a couch, while he spoke, "Gurl, you don't know how much I've been missing you," and then he suddenly crashed his pink, plumpy lips on mine. I was shook for a few seconds but kissed him back. He was passionately kissing me, our lips colliding and moulding into one.
Fuck, it felt so good. He then slowly started giving me kisses on my neck while I slightly moaned because of the sensation. "Fuck- what are you doing, Vedaant?" I was confused, even though I was enjoying it. "Loving you Babe, I fucking missed you so much. Come here," he said while pulling me on his lap, and we continued kissing each other like we were crazy in love.
(I'M IN LOVE WITH THIS GUY ISTG I WANT HIM 😭 LIKE HE'S SO FREAKING FINEEE 😩🤌✨️)

She was demure and elegant in a flowing gown – he looked dapper and debonair in a tailored navy suit.
So pity the poor bride and groom whose lavish Caribbean nuptials were overshadowed by such glamorous guests.
Then again, if you will invite Prince Harry and his actress girlfriend Meghan Markle to your wedding, what do you expect?
All eyes were on the young lovers as the prince attended the wedding of friend Tom ‘Skippy’ Inskip at the weekend in Montego Bay, Jamaica.
Not having seen each other for a fortnight, Harry, 32, and 35-year-old Meghan used the trip as an excuse for a romantic reunion – and their affectionate behaviour set tongues wagging that it might not be long before they, too, are walking up the aisle.
For Meghan, the surroundings are not entirely unfamiliar.
In 2011, she married her first husband – film producer Trevor Engleson – at a resort just 60 miles along the coast. So, is she feeling the love second time around?
We reveal exactly what the young couple got up to on their romantic West Indian weekend...
He flies in economy, while she takes a private jet
Harry arrived in Jamaica on Wednesday to join the groom’s party ahead of the big day – he was one of 14 ushers.
The royals don’t use private planes for personal engagements, so he took a Virgin Atlantic flight from Gatwick to Sangster International Airport in Montego Bay.
The prince did splash out on a premium economy seat, costing upwards of £2,000 return.
Meghan flew in the following day from Toronto, where she’s filming US legal drama Suits, in a private jet that belongs to a friend.
Ever the gentleman, Harry picked her up from the airport, greeting her with a kiss before they drove back to the hotel together.
The luxury resort where JFK stayed
With 110 acres of lush tropical gardens, suites designed by Ralph Lauren and its own private bay, the wedding reception venue is the perfect backdrop for royal romance.
The Round Hill Resort was built in the 1950s as a series of luxurious cottages for rich and famous visitors. Guests have included JFK and Jackie Kennedy, who spent their honeymoon here.
Grace Kelly, Fred Astaire, Clark Gable, Sir Paul McCartney, and Emma Watson have also stayed.
Tumblr media
A hotel worker revealed that Meghan and Harry stayed in a £5,000-a-night premium luxury villa, the resort’s most exclusive accommodation away from prying eyes, which comes with its own housekeeper, two pools and a games room with a bar and pool table.
Ever watchful of their safety, security guards were stationed in rooms nearby.
Guests have breakfast served on their balcony, and options include Jamaican delicacies such as ackee (a fruit like a lychee), saltfish with fried dumplings and callaloo (a leafy green vegetable).
It’s quite a change from Meghan’s first trip to the island during her low-key wedding in 2011.
She and her husband-to-be stayed at the four-star Jamaica Inn in Ocho Rios, where they indulged in drinking games and wheelbarrow races before saying their vows.
Tumblr media
The (other) very happy couple
It takes a brave bride to invite glamorous, leggy Meghan to your wedding. But flame-haired Lara Hughes-Young didn’t seem bothered about being outshone.
Lara, 30, a software developer at global technology company ThoughtWorks, knows Harry through her new husband ‘Skippy’, who went to Eton with the prince.
She’s the granddaughter of late Conservative MP Michael Hughes-Young.
Her father holds the title Lord St Helens – making her official title the Honourable Lara Inskip.
She is said to have been ‘singing Meghan’s praises’ since meeting her last year.
Tumblr media
They may have been the focus of attention on the day, but Megan and Harry were far from the only notable guests at the wedding.
Harry’s aunt Sarah Ferguson, the Duchess of York, was on the list, accompanied, insiders say, by her daughter Eugenie.
After the ceremony, a smiling Fergie, wearing a black minidress with a jewelled neck, was seen posing for photographs with Pastor Conrad Thomas, who officiated the ceremony.
Archie Soames, one of the ushers, is the great-grandson of Winston Churchill. Maid of honour Alice St Clair Erskine is an actress who portrayed the Duchess of Cambridge in the 2011 American TV show William and Catherine: A Royal Romance.
Olympic sprinter Usain Bolt is rumoured to have popped in for the party.
Trying not to upstage the bride
For the ceremony, Meghan chose a £1,200 floral print maxi dress by Canadian designer Erdem.
Harry opted for a bespoke navy suit, believed to be from his favourite Savile Row tailor Gieves & Hawkes, and teamed with a yellow rose.
Meghan accessorised her elegant attire with a nude clutch bag and a pair of £249 gold-rimmed sunglasses by Dior to shield her eyes from the hot Jamaican sun.
The bride did her best to stay in the spotlight in a breathtakingly simple white satin gown with a plunging neckline and full, flowing skirt – a direct contrast to Meghan’s high-necked style.
Tumblr media
Meghan's tender touch for her prince
Meghan placed a protective arm on Harry’s back as she steered him out of the church and guests say the pair were very tactile throughout the reception as she was introduced to his old friends.
At one point they were seen deep in conversation, as a jacketless Harry drank a beer and Meghan an Aperol spritz cocktail as she continued to rub his back.
Minutes later, she moved even closer, gazing into his eyes and putting her arms around his neck.
‘They are both head over heels and don’t care who sees it,’ said an onlooker.

Did the Bridgerton S2 wedding contain clues through colour?
First credit has to go to Reddit user fbc1984 for this post, please head over to reddit and check out the original post on the Kanthony subreddit here.
And while you are there check out the other Kanthony related posts on the subreddit.
Reddit user fbc1984 brings up a scene in S2 where Kate is holding a bolt of red fabric whilst Edwina is trying on outfits, speculating that Kate liked Red and would have worn it for special occasions, such as her wedding. I believe the scene being referred to is from episode 5. Edwina is being fitted for her wedding dress in the modiste's shop and is talking about the wedding and living in London, near the end of the scene we see a wide shot showing Kate sitting and holding a bolt of Red and Gold fabric.
Another Reddit user in the post, (I would like to provide credit, however I will not because at this stage I do not have permission to name them), commented that they had read where in India it is traditional for brides to wear Red, and white is a mourning colour. This got me thinking, with all of the symbolism in Bridgerton, were the bolt of fabric Kate was holding, and Kate in white during Anthony's daydream at the wedding, not to mention Edwina (as an Indian woman) wearing white symbolic?
We know that the costume designer used a combination of colour and fabric for Kate to symbolise her emotional shifts towards falling in love, so if we stay with the idea of colour symbolism in the clothing then I think the wedding was very symbolic of both the emotions of the parties involved, and pointing to who the true bride was.
As both Kate and Edwina grew up in India, I don't believe either would have worn white to get married in (though Edwina was a possibility with an English mother), due to white being a colour that would be associated with funerals in India, so I would like to think it was deliberate for the Bridgerton costume designer to dress them both in white bridal gowns during the ill fated wedding.
I think Edwina wearing white was not only signalling her assimilation into English culture, but also in the context of her having been raised in India it could be seen as her wearing a colour of mourning and attending a funeral, not a wedding. Combine the colour significance in Indian culture with the choice of song used for the walk down the aisle (Sign of the Times by Harry Styles), and you have all the elements of sadness not joy that should be associated with a wedding. For those unaware, The Sign of the Times is a song inspired by a mother dying in childbirth, it is from the point of view of the mother telling her child to go forth and conquer without her, a rather dark subject for a wedding song. However, this symbolism of death and mourning could also be to signal Edwina finally realising that Anthony does not love her (and never will), and the death of her idealism and innocence.
Further to the symbolism of death and mourning surrounding Edwina walking up the aisle, we see Anthony fantasise Kate is his bride, and she is also dressed in white. Whilst for Anthony it is bittersweet, the woman he truly loves appearing before him in a white wedding dress, for Kate it is more symbolic that she is in white. It was established very early in the season that Kate was very connected to her culture and rejected English customs (and Tea), as such it is hard to believe that Kate would wear an English style wedding dress in a mourning colour, so with that in mind was it deliberate that Kate was in white, to symbolise her mourning her lost love, lost youth, and the life she wanted?
This brings us back to the initial question Reddit user fbc1984 asked, would Kate have worn red for her wedding?
The scene referenced (and described above) is centred around Edwina's wedding and marriage, Edwina is being fitted for her dress and is standing in a white gown (mourning), whilst Kate is seated holding the bolt of Red and Gold cloth (celebratory). It seems too coincidental to have been a random choice of the director for Kate to be holding that particular bolt, as such I believe it was signalling that Kate was the true bride.
So to answer fbc1984's question, yes I do believe Kate wore red to her wedding, and further, I think (as another Redditor said) that she wore a lehenga.

I need someone to write in detail about how the current flex culture is both similar to and different from the culture of, say, Victorian England. I understand, from reading many, many Victorian stories over the years, by which I mean stories written during the Victorian era, why displaying wealth was so critical. If you didn't display wealth, the general assumption would be that you didn't have it. You'd be less likely to get business or loans, less likely for family members to contract advantageous marriages, etc. So you paid for your daughter to wear a different gown every time she went out, and you paid for a fancy carriage, and you hosted dinners for people you didn't enjoy, and so on, because you quite literally had to. Sure, you could choose to retire to a country estate, but everyone would assume it was because you were broke. Right? Or am I SUPER wrong? I don't know! I'm not a historian!
But these days--like, look at the luxury jewelry market. There are so many options out there to spend 20 grand on a necklace, you could drown in them. Many of them are not branded, and many are also just not that interesting or distinctive. You cannot expect someone to read your wealth instantly the way they could when someone would assess in one glance: velvet? silk? or cotton? The color of dye is no longer legally regulated. I can wear Tyrian purple if I'm broke as shit. Gold-plated jewelry is visually indistinguishable from solid gold jewelry at a fraction of the cost. Good fakes of any imaginable high-end bag or shoe exist. Items, themselves, are no long inherently signifiers of wealth the way they were pre-industrialization, because we have reached a point where it is comparatively very easy to acquire things.
So what purpose is the designer jewelry serving now? And designer clothes? When I'm sure there are many, many items that rich men and women could not tell apart at a glance, and there is not (I'm sorry) some kind of magical quality differential that makes them recognizably high-end. (Watch the Tanner Leatherstein channel on YouTube to have your ideas about high-end leather products deconstructed before your eyes.)
Like, I'm sure some things operate exactly the same. I'm sure there's a narrow elite in Silicon Valley and I'm sure they recognize each other's wealth signifiers effortlessly. The same super-expensive "casual" sneakers and t-shirts. But what happens when those people end up at a party with Bostonian old money??? And that's just two of the ultra-rich possibilities out there! There are different signifiers for Indian families, and for Chinese families, and for Dubai oil money vs Brazilian vs English--like, any culture has their ultra-wealthy and the signifiers they use can be wildly different!
YouTube has a lot of videos about flex culture, but these all seem to focus on how detrimental it is. Which it is! It's terrible! Don't spend your money on a designer thing for being designer as if that's going to GET you something. It's not. Especially if you are not in the kind of circles where that type of wealth signifier is useful.
Anyway, if you know of any good explorations of this, let me know, because it has REALLY been on my mind lately. And with the COVID, I have nothing but time.*
*and body aches

Women's Clothing: A Guide to Finding the Perfect Fit
Tumblr media
Designing women's clothing involves a combination of creativity, fashion knowledge, and understanding of market trends. While I can't physically design clothing, I can certainly provide you with some general guidelines and tips to help you in the process. Here are some steps you can take when designing women's clothing:
1. Research and Inspiration:
Stay updated with current fashion trends and industry news.
Browse fashion magazines, websites, and social media platforms for inspiration.
Analyze popular styles, color palettes, and silhouettes to identify what appeals to your target audience.
2. Define Your Target Market:
Determine the age range, lifestyle, and preferences of the women you want to design for.
Consider factors like body types, occasions, and cultural influences that may affect their fashion choices.
Create customer profiles to better understand their needs and desires.
3. Sketching and Concept Development:
Start sketching your ideas on paper or using digital tools.
Experiment with various silhouettes, cuts, and embellishments.
Consider the overall theme, mood, and story you want your collection to convey.
Refine your sketches and select the most promising designs to move forward with.
4. Fabrics and Materials:
Research different fabrics and materials that suit your designs.
Consider factors such as comfort, durability, and appropriateness for the intended season or occasion.
Experiment with fabric swatches to see how they drape and interact with the design.
5. Technical Drawings and Patterns:
Create technical drawings or flats of your designs, specifying measurements and details.
Develop patterns based on the technical drawings, either by hand or using computer-aided design (CAD) software.
Ensure the patterns are precise and can be easily translated into actual garments.
6. Sampling and Prototyping:
Find a reliable manufacturer or sample maker to create prototypes of your designs.
Work closely with them to ensure your vision is accurately translated into physical garments.
Test the prototypes on different body types to ensure proper fit and functionality.
7. Iteration and Refinement:
Evaluate the prototypes and gather feedback from potential customers or focus groups.
Make necessary adjustments to improve fit, comfort, and overall design.
Continue refining and iterating until you're satisfied with the final product.
8. Production and Marketing:
Once the designs are finalized, plan the production process.
Establish a production timeline and budget.
Develop a marketing strategy to promote your clothing line, considering online platforms, collaborations, and retail opportunities.
Remember, designing clothing requires continuous learning and adaptation. It's important to stay open to feedback, trends, and evolving customer preferences to create successful and appealing designs.
