Day 1 of @infidgetweek ! Decided to do an AU of my AU where Spade and Cor are role and personality swapped XP

Apparently there was/is an @infidgetweek​ going on??? And nobody told me???? (/j) I’ll only be doing the last day: free day. So here’s some headcanons about mobian (specifically jackal) marriage customs below the cut.

Some species do regular rings for being married, but those get tricky when basically everyone wears gloves (what if you want to wear a different pair of gloves that day?? What then??) So some have rings on their fingers that are able to somewhat adjust size, some species prefer necklaces, bracelets, even tattoos.

Jackals though, due to how big their ears are, like to flaunt that they’re married via double earrings on the tips of their left ears. Most other types of Mobians aren’t aware of this, so for non-jackals, double earrings are just a fashion choice. Jackal’s version of “engagement rings” are studs put in when the ears are pierced at the beginning of the engagement, and are replaced by the double earrings upon marriage.

Gadget proposed with the earrings and Infinite was touched that the wolf looked into his cultural traditions for him.

I have spent too much time thinking about this.
