Influence 15: The Baton

Wow as i sit here pondering the word that was shared by Christine Caine at Influence 15, i can only think of one thing. We are in a crazy time right now as laws and legislations are passed. But one thing remains true for me and hopefully for those of you that are believers: The Lord is still here he has always been and will always be! But as those things continue to happen, what are we doing? Are we hiding scared inside the church doors? Are we doing less and speaking more? Sometimes the way that we react to those things speak louder than our thoughts and opinions on Facebook.  We are in a trying time, but in the bible there were trying times too, and God never let HIS people down. Now is the time to stand up, to rise, to start raising up the generation that will come after us. The ones that will do more than we have ever imagined. 

Just hearing the powerful word made me think, it made me do a self check, it made me do a heart check, an evaluation that we rarely sometimes do because we are too busy comparing and checking others. 

The Holy Spirit is the power and as I self examined I knew that I had no power because I haven't been relying on the Holy Spirt, i have been going thorough the motions of ministry and church but not relying on the one true thing that has the POWER! God and His sprit. Especially when it comes to me serving in youth ministry. There is a generation coming into the church that will eventually be the next leaders and God has placed me there to SERVE, but not on my own doing, with Him aligned within me. I want the baton that I pass on to continue to be passed on, to continue to touch more people, to continue to move forward and do bigger things that I could of ever imagined! 

The thing to remember whether you stand on a pulpit, or lead a ministry, or serve you are carrying a baton! Now what you do with that baton is up to you. I know that when i pass it on I want the person to be ready, i want the person to do far more than i ever did with it in my hand. But for now as i carry my baton I will obey and do what the Lord asks! Right now that is serving in youth and serving in the women's ministry.
