Why Ready-to-Cook Products are Perfect for Millennials and Gen Z
In our digital world, technology has not only changed the way we communicate but also our lifestyle choices. Keeping up with the evolving needs of the consumers, food and beverage (F&B) brands are trying to understand the eating patterns of the younger generation. Exploring the nuances of food consumption behaviour among millennials and Gen-Z, F&B brands can offer advanced culinary experiences to the consumers. This way they can offer them the food products that resonate with the preferences of these specific demographics.
Recently, ready-to-cook (RTC) food products have become a preferred choice among millennials and Gen Z, especially among busy professionals. While cooking food has its unique charm, the efficiency and convenience of RTC options make them highly popular among schedule-driven people. If you choose authentic food brands, like ShimlaRed, you can make cooking easier with ready-to-cook products without compromising your nutrition and food quality.
Reasons Why RTC Food Products are Ideal for Millennials and Gen Z
Following are the key benefits of RTC food and reasons why these are the right solutions you need in your busy life:
1. Simplify Cooking
Meal planning is a complicated task in today’s fast-paced era. Therefore, the increasing trend of convenience food has made people’s lives easier with simpler cooking options. For instance, if you choose, ShimlaRed’s RTC tomato puree/paste, ginger garlic paste, or base gravies, almost half of your work is done.
All you need to do is pour these ingredients into a pan and cook delicious meals within a few minutes. The best part is that RTC food solutions reduce the efforts and time required for meal preparation. So, you can easily maintain your healthy eating habits without sacrificing your valuable time.
2. Endless Cooking Options
Using convenient RTC food solutions, you have endless cooking options. For instance, with RTC tomato puree, tomato paste, or ginger garlic paste, you can prepare a variety of Indian and non-Indian cuisine in the comfort of your home.
Besides that, you can use ShimlaRed RTC base gravies, like Bhuna Masala Gravy, White Gravy, Yellow Gravy, Butter Chicken Gravy, or more to experiment with new flavours and recipes. For example, with RTC white gravy, you can easily prepare Methi Mutter, Paneer Makhani, and other Indian curries.
When it comes to Butter Chicken gravy, it’s not just to prepare delicious Butter Chicken. You can also use it to cook various other dishes, like Paneer Lababdar. Since it consists of all “vegetarian ingredients,” this single gravy can help you prepare a wide range of both vegetarian and non-vegetarian recipes.
3. Healthy Cooking Alternative
RTC products offer you a healthy cooking alternative to junk food. Since ShimlaRed RTC products are free from artificial preservatives and additives, you don’t have to worry about compromising your health or nutrition.
Cooked with traditional recipes and further processed and packed with advanced retort technology, our RTC gravies retain the freshness of each ingredient without requiring any preservatives. Likewise, our purees and pastes maintain the nutritional value of the included ingredients. So, you will get to enjoy wholesome meals at home while prioritising your daily nutrition.
4. Cost-Efficient
If you are using RTC tomato puree/paste or ginger garlic paste, you require a small amount to make a dish. You can store the remaining until next time. It means that a single pack is likely to go a long way. This is how you can save the money that you’d otherwise spend on buying fresh tomatoes every other day from a grocery store.
Since tomato prices are on the rise, it’s best to opt for cost-efficient cooking options, like RTC food products. Hence, it is a smarter choice for your wallet.
5. Time Saving
With our RTC food products, you don’t have to spend hours in the kitchen to cut, chop, or grind various ingredients. Simply use the product from the pack while cooking and prepare various recipes in no time. Whether you go for our pastes, purees or base gravies, all RTC products from our facility are Crafted to Delight while fitting into your busy lifestyle without wasting your precious time.
Conclusion
Ready-to-cook products offer a smart, modern solution for millennials and Gen Z. Meanwhile, these convenience food choices keep up with food quality and nutrition. These food products save your valuable time while offering high-quality ingredients. Hence, they enable you to meet your health goals while reducing food wastage.

Day 5, Udaipur
So much is happening, i can't keep up!! This morning started with breakfast on the terrace. Boiled eggs and toast for me, beans on toast for Matt. Charlotte went over the map with us downstairs in the lobby and we set off into town. We were quickly stopped by a tailor called Nick, who showed us his suits and fabrics and gave us a chai tea.
These streets are tightly packed with shops and motorbikes and a constant stream of traffic careering between tourists the colourful buildings. The stuff they're selling here is much nicer than what they sold in Mumbai.
We went to the Jagdish Temple, which was up a flight of steep white marble steps and through a decorative gateway flanked by two elephants. Old women in bright pink and yellow sarees sat at the bottom trying to sell flowers. We took our shoes off and were guided around the figures of Ganesha and Vishnu. The temple was exquisitely carved with hundreds of elephants and small figures of Krishna's many female admirers. Upon giving a small donation at the alter, we were blessed and a red bindi was dotted on each of our foreheads. The guide lead us through a small passageway to show us his miniature paintings, tiny little delicate works of art of golden tailed peacocks, jewelled elephants and gods in blue gardens. They were so beautiful and I wanted to show my appreciation for the hard work and the skill of it, without blowing two day's budget by actually buying one but he adamantly refused a donation. I heard him sigh loudly and deeply as we left.
A lot of locals spoke to us today; everyone is so friendly and eager to tell you all about their trade. Everyone and their nan in this town seem to be either a tailor or and artist. We took a peaceful moment by the water, only being slightly pestered by a man who seemed to be pretending he was disabled to beg for money. A lone, unsupervised cow milled around while another man bathed in the water.
We ran into some Westerners shooting a music video in the backstreets and briefly spoke to them about it.
We had lunch, sharing a chicken tikka lababdar on a rooftop terrace on tables with pink clothes and glasses that didn't sit flat, but rolled around on a point. The views in Udaipur are stunning, with a mountainous backdrop behind the buildings.
Later on, we went on a street food tour with about six others from the hostel into the residential heart of Udaipur. The first stop was a deep fried potato and onion delicacy with red and green sauces splashed over it, then an egg curry which I wasn't crazy about, by a man who's been on the Indian Masterchef and seemed to be the king of the egg stalls on the corner. The 8 of us crowded around on little stools tucked behind the big, round, sizzling plates where the food was made. On the walk to the next stall, I got talking to a Canadian man called Daryl, with a prosthetic leg that I didn't notice for ages, although he kept up really well as we dodged through oncoming traffic, deep in conversation. He told me about Dubai and we discussed the situation in America; he said his parents had moved back to Canada out of Florida because the racism was too appalling to be around. The third stall featured a pile of sickly sweet dried ingredients. The fourth stall sold these little crispy puffs that were full of all different sauces that I saw being dashed into them, each puff the size of a small tangerine. The others told us to put it all in our mouth in one bite. Everyone bit in to it and it just exploded in my mouth, all those sauces bursting out of the crispy shell. It was quite sweet and creamy but my mouth was so full, it made me gag, and I really had to control myself to chew and swallow it all.
Reeling slightly from that minor assault, I noticed an animal walking along the road up ahead. It was an elephant. It was enormous and majestic and it slowly, but gracefully lumbered towards us, unphased by the number of bikes zooming past, being ridden by a man who was just chatting on the phone, nudging the big, beautiful beast behind the ear. It stopped right in front of us. I'd been filming on my phone for a few moments and kind of just watching it through the screen, but I put my phone down and it was just amazing. There was an elephant right in front of me. Right there. It was huge. It was taller than a bus, it's head like a boulder with a great anaconda trunk swaying. Even the others, who'd been travelling for years, were amazed.
I felt elated after it passed and we made our way onwards buzzing. The next stall sold bundles of seeds and other mystery components wrapped up in a leaf and smothered in chocolate, which brought out different flavours with every bite. On the way to the final stall, I spoke to Luke from Australia and we talked about bud from all over the world and he recommended a bhang lassi, a thc milkshake. The last stall sold spongey balls, coated in hot, sugary syrup and they were unexpectedly delicious, looking more like onions simmering in the pot. The whole tour cost under £2! We wound back home through the narrow streets and went up to the roof to share some bevs. Parisian Roma and Luke taught us a card game called Speed which I beat Matt at every time. They told stories about spunking 5 grand in Las Vegas, the crazy parties and drink driving in Goa, the heart wrenching slum tours of Dharavi, the strange cult-like town of Auroville and accidentally smuggling drugs internationally. Everyone has so many stories.

Moti Mahal is a global chain of restaurants with over 120 franchises in India and around the world. Moti Mahal Delux was founded by Kundan lal Gujral, a Punjabi Hindu, who migrated to Delhi after the Partition of India in 1947. The first Moti Mahal in Delhi was one of the first restaurants to introduce the Punjabi Cuisine to the rest of the world and many famous dishes include Tandoori Chicken, Butter Chicken and Dal Makhni.
Moti Mahal ‘ was founded by Kundan Lal Gujral in Delhi in 1947. Gujral, the founder of the restaurant, worked at a small Eatery called Moti Mahal, owned by a man named ‘Mokha Singh’ in Peshawar, British India, from 1920’s to 1947.
Moti Mahal was the first to dig up a Tandoor right in the middle of the eatery and since then Peshawar was introduced to the Culinary art of Tandoori Chicken by them. This was a success and soon there was in demand for Tandoori at social gatherings and wedding feasts where they would use an improvised tandoor.
After the partition of India in 1947, Gujral, Punjabi Hindus, fled to Delhi with their family. In Delhi, Gujral bought a thara (booth) in DaryaGanj, area, then considered a newer part of Old Delhi. Gujral then started Moti Mahal, Daryaganj with Thakur Das Mago.
Moti Mahal further went on to invent butter chicken and dal makhani. This brought about a revolution in taste and a place on the International Gourmet Map.
Thus was born the Moti Mahal Restaurant, which contributed significantly to putting India on the food map of the world. Indian leaders like Jawaharlal Nehru, Indira Gandhi, Zakir Hussain among various foreign dignitaries like Richard Nixon, John F. Kennedy and Mohammad Reza Pahlavi. have visited Moti Mahal to sample Kundan’s innovations – its tandoori delicacies on various occasions.
And M. Maulana Azad, the great Muslim leader, reportedly told the Shah of Iran that while in India he must make two visits – to the Taj Mahal and Moti Mahal.
Later in 1970`s Kundan Lal’s son Mr Nand Lal ‘Bila’ Gujral, upon the exit of Thakur Das Mago from the partnership, expanded Moti Mahal Delux in south Delhi to establish Moti Mahal Delux Chain of Restaurants.
We visited this place on an invite and this place changed our basic Idea of Paneer Lababdar and Butter Chicken, absolutely creamy and juicy and yummy.!!
Even its a franchisee, the quality of Ingredients and the taste of the original still is well maintained and the restaurateur Ms. Swati explained how much effort the main MMD (Moti Mahal Delux) takes to keep their franchisees tastes the same..!!
Then the next best we had here was Chicken Tandoor, and Dal Makhni..!!
Their Gajar Halwa is definitely not to miss..!!
