fucking hell this is why i tend to use rust. i'm trying to find a library for the tumblr API in C# and there's one that's years old and using old standards so i tried seeing how hard it is to make one and immediately ran into the fact that C# cannot deserialise discriminated unions without having to write custom deserialisers because it just doesn't support that as a language feature

frustrated, i said fuck it and had a look to see if there was one in rust. there is, and it's been updated recently, so i can go in and make PRs if i need to. i cannot escape this language

i wasnt completely satisfied with the old pose (bad silhouette at some angles, and there was some warping in the face, oops!), i want to fix his lumpy wingfingers, add some more coins splashing around, and maybe add some extra paint detailing if i feel like it ^_^ yey

Im still wondering what the deal was with the joke at the start of peacemaker tries hard about people being mad about lore being retconned (and also how anybody mad is a dumb idiot who doesnt understand how comics work). Like the only people I've ever seen talking about Peacemaker's previous stuff being ignored in a negative way besides ME are people who arent actually interested in the character and just wanted to hate the show because they hate James Gunn (and it is very obvious from the way they talked about it that they didnt actually get who Peacemaker was as a character since most of those people were also convinced he was a serious antihero pre-show which like. Yeah ok.)

I dunno. Still convinced it was making up a guy to be mad at and is part of why I was annoyed with this miniseries from the start. Also because of the fucking sexual assault joke Im not ignoring that.

ouughh cnc machines my beloved!! i've not even touched one in years bc i went down the coding path, not the engineering path, but man do i miss them sometimes. i wish i could have one but honestly what would i even make with it

truth! my biggest weakness is that im an artist and not an engineer sooo. that does complicate things. but im good as fuck at toolpathing/general troubleshooting so i mostly help other people with projects. when i do design for the cnc i do a lot of text engraving (not dissimilar to signmaking) and some flatpack furniture type stuff. ive also been experimenting with making triptychs with cnc cut bases. we also have a 3d printed pen holder for our big shopbot LOL so i want to try toolpathing it to write stuff for me sometime soon. because why not
