I don't think y'all understand, they needed to go separate ways, they needed to get away from each other and live out their lives knowing what it's like to not be near each other. They met at 12 and they stayed the next two years basically alone together, not to mention they also had never met anyone their age before they met. They needed to meet new people and live new experiences apart from each other so they could know themselves better. You only really know if you love someone if you spend time away from that person.

Pt 2 of the ‘Tickle Drones’ Au 

This time, I’m going to talk about the characters

I didn’t tell you guys about what the tickle drones look like, so i going to talk about that too :) (Another long post, so bear with me again! 😅)

The tickle drones have some slight changes on the outside, they still have the distinct silver hair, but it has a pinkish tint at the tips of the hair, Their tails’ deadly syringe or stingers (what I like to call it) are replaced with feathers along with their wings, and they look more fluffy in a certain distance (any distance for that matter lol). They also wear more fuzzy/fluffy clothes. Now that I’ve explained what the tickle drones look like, it’s time to talk about the trio!

J- 

She isn’t as mean as the original, but she has her moments. (she’s like a 50/50 strict mom lol).

Keeps the squad in check, organized, and tries to keep them (and others) safe.

Hates the company and would rather live like the worker drones (but is too sacred to actually confront them).

J loves all things STEM, she would regularly help Uzi with her projects and math homework if she needs it.

She also hates being interrupted when doing her personal projects of her own. Those projects are either tickle machines or something else. 

Despite her being a tickle drone, she rather tickle someone that she at least knows (like N,V, or Uzi)

Constantly counts how many worker drones N and V took to get a number on how many drones it takes to satisfy their hunger.

She’s also responsible for stamping them with a UV sticker (where only they can see, it only fades within a months time)

Sometimes when N and V pranks her, that’s when she’ll get mischievous 

J would be the type of ler to have a conversation with you or continue to do what she’s doing while tickling you

However, even tickle monsters are ticklish themselves (including J).

J is a pure switch at heart, and if you tickle her first, she will tickle back.

N-

Still the sweetest boy you’ll ever face.

He tends to hang out with V a lot searching for workers in need of help.

He also tries to calm said workers and reassure them that everything is alright. 

N cooks for the team and for the workers when they get into the resting area.

He is also the sweetest ler you’ll face too, N would give complements to the lee that he’s tickling.

N would also congratulate his lee afterwards saying, ‘Good job!’ or ‘I’m so proud of you.’ (he gives fist bumps or high-fives too)

He tends to be a lee-leaning switch (N allows younger worker drones to ‘take revenge’ on him after he tickles them).

N also gives big sibling vibes towards others (along with V).

V- 

The ruthless of them all. (in a playful way that is) 

This girl is a pure ler at heart 

Unlike N, she just goes for the kill when given the lee’s consent.

V would stop when told to stop or stop when the lee’s at their limit.

Would never try to hurt others unless given a reason to.

The type to protect those she cares for deeply (like the ‘responsible’ big sibling she is)

V is the one drone out of the squad to do reckless things to keep her entertained (she also convinces N to join her, which works most of the time). 

V’s also responsible for pulling pranks on J when she’s cooped up in the hideout.       

How they lead children to their hideout and why they need laughter to survive.

As mentioned in the previous post, they tend to lead kid drones to their hideout (The trio also calls the hideout a hut as well). The reason why is because unlike some adult drones, kid drones are more ticklish and have more hearty laughter than them too (they forget faster too). The more heart put into the laughter, the more flavor that laughter will have. The reason why they need laughter every other month to survive is self explanatory, but they also need it to stay warm in the cold.

There are two methods as to how they lead children to their hideout:

They make a selection of who should go with them and goes to where there house or dorm is

They scout out the area to find unfortunate workers caught in some kind of trouble to rescue them

N and V would do both methods to find ticklish workers.

In order to do the first method, they need to get inside the vents to get inside the heart of the colony. After they do that, they go into various rooms that would contain young workers. They then scan every last one of them to see if their highly ticklish or not, if they are, then N and V would wait until night time to take them. V would normally do the talking when confronting the little drone to try and persuade them to come with her. She would say that ‘there’s going to be a party there’ and ‘It’ll be fun!’, it works almost all the time fir little dronelings. If they don’t want to go, then N and V would leave them alone. But once they have the children, they would tell them to get their coats and scarfs so they don’t get cold (V specifically, she doesn’t want them to freeze their gears outside).

For the second method, N and V would just scout out the area that J knows there would be workers at. If the workers find themselves in trouble (stuck in some rubble, if they’re being hunted by some humans that stayed on the planet,etc.) N and V would go and help those worker drones in need and take them back. However, if they don’t need any help and are fine, then the two tickle drones would leave them alone (they’re really big on consent, so no kidnapping! >:().

Just wanted to circle back on the laughter part.  

So, as mentioned in the last post, N told Uzi that there was a ‘Fun room’ in the overall story.

Well, they use that room to extract laughter into a container. How it works is that the room detects laughter from the walls, the walls ‘absorb’ it, and the sound is then materialized and liquified into said container. The container is also the size of one jug. It only takes 30 minutes for a child to fill it all the way to the top with their laughter vs 1 hour of an adult’s laughter, breaks included in both. 

But in the end, the dronelings go into the resting area, where they’re served some battery juice, two cookies (for robots), and a trip back to the colony where their bed is calling for them.

This was a really long post explaining this lol, but deyou guys can use this idea for your own fics as long as it’s SFW.

Bro I’m so emotionally attached to the aranara and it’s ridiculous. whenever I try to talk to my friends abt them they legit don’t care and it makes me so sad knowing I can’t talk abt the aranara bc they’re just so cute and I kid you not I was just talking with a few of my friends and I brought up the aranara bc I was doing the quest but instead of acknowledging me, they ignored me and it didn’t bother me considering they were focused on something else but then they NEVER listen when I talk abt my interests and I always try to listen to them speak abt what they like no matter how much I don’t care but it’s really getting on my nerves at this point and it genuinely makes me want to cry and I don’t know what to do bc I’m always trying and I feel I’m not receiving enough from them but then again is it just me being selfish? Ew I sound like a pick me, this is dumb. I just need to suck it up. Have I been ranting or venting?? Wait I should apologize to them, I’m being super not supportive by saying idc abt their interests. But how much support could they possibly want? I’ll bleed myself dry if they asked me to..EW I SOUND LIKE A PICK ME AGAIN (somebody pls shut me up, I’m literally so annoying) am I projecting???? I might be having a crisis rn, maybe…

somebody is going to sacrifice themself for everybody in season 4 volume 2. it's gonna happen. i'm terrible at predicting things but i love doing it anyway and i have Thoughts so i am subjecting everybody to them now.

Eddie: this is the guess i'm most sold on. there's a scene in one of the early trailers where he's playing his guitar in the upside down; after the whole creepy bird/bat/miscellaneous gross flying things bit in vol 1, it would make a lot of sense for him to be sacrificing himself by distracting the monsters. also: his whole speech to the hellfire club, about how he's going to finally graduate, how "this year is different" ?? textbook tragedy setup. also also: he is incredibly queer-coded and i feel like stranger things would be The Show to somehow bury the gays without burying any cAnOn queer characters. also also also: he's clearly very important to Dustin, and as many people have pointed out in the recent trailer, Dustin going into a rage could easily be because a person he cares about deeply was hurt or even killed; it could very well be Eddie. overall, since he was a new character, the writers could've easily planned to kill him because they knew he would be beloved enough to make it emotional, but without having to kill a long-term main character that the fandom has had time to get attached to.

Steve: i'm not really convinced on this one at all, but i feel like there's always a chance, ya know? with this weird Steve/Nancy setup, it could be a peak moment to have a confession of love, maybe a kiss, with the dumb "i'll see you in a minute" thought, or something similarly emotional tied to a confession before sacrifice. also, as i mentioned before, the whole Dustin fight in the trailer could definitely be him defending or avenging Steve. but i really don't think they'd kill Steve at this point — Steve is a character everybody has loved since season 1, and i think the backlash would be too strong. he's also been very important to other characters' arcs and moments, and he's often key to the comedic relief of the show. it wouldn't really make sense to kill him, but it is definitely possible.

Robin: her line in the recent trailer that's like "it might not work out this time" ??? very worrying. it of course makes me nervous for her, but i think it points more generally to the certainty that someone very loved and very important is going to die. but there's always the burying of the gays. sometimes that's enough. on the other hand, i don't think they would have set up this thing with Vicki if Robin was going to die this season; it feels like a lot of effort and a lot of brightness and hope and adorableness just to throw it away by killing Robin. also, i feel like theyre aware of the backlash they would get for killing the singular (current) canon queer character on the show.

Max: this one feels weird, but plausible, to me. it seems like her arc is pointed to her becoming strong and a big hero this season, but the heroics could end in sacrifice. she's clearly a big target of Vecna's, and she's the kind of character who could definitely give herself up if she felt like she was slowing down the team, or causing problems in some other way. or, maybe not even a sacrifice, but she tries to fight Vecna herself and is seriously hurt — or killed. it seems more likely that they would put her in a near-death situation to raise the stakes, push Lucas' character arc, and have her come back even stronger. either way, the opportunity could be used to parallel Billy's death/sacrifice, especially after vol 1 established how guilty Max feels over it. maybe she tries to sacrifice herself with the thought of avenging Billy or getting what she thinks she deserves. i do think that Max is too adored by the fandom, though, and that she's been too well written this season to be the biggest target.

Will: alright, i really don't think they'll kill this boy. he's been too central to the story, and i doubt they'd kill one of the original main four/five. but i want to put it down in case they do because i know all the reasons WHY and HOW it'll go if it does. one: bury the gays. it's simple, it's basic. based on interviews and... literally everything at this point, we all know that Will is definitely gay, and almost certainly in love with Mike. the question is really over whether Mike feels the same way. which brings me to point two: Byler. we're almost definitely getting a love confession from Will to Mike in vol 2, and i could very easily see it going destiel-style; aka, Will says he loves Mike, and Mike either reciprocates or doesn't, but either way, Will sacrifices himself to stop Vecna. considering his connection to the upside down, it wouldn't be surprising if there was a way for Will to stop Vecna, and it would be a perfect opportunity to tug on viewers' heartstrings. however, i still think Netflix/the writers are aware of the "bury the gays" backlash they'd be in for; plus, the cast seems very excited about what is probably Will being in love with Mike, and maybe i'm just naïve, but it gives me hope for the two of them.

knowing me, it probably won't be any of these characters, but i wanted to make my guesses before the show comes out and i have to wait a fucking week to watch it because i'll be out of town. my bets are (unfortunately) on Eddie, but i guess we'll just have to wait and see.
