Outlaws ‘Til The End címmel pénteken jelenik meg a Dez Fafara vezette DevilDriver új albuma, csupa metalosított country-feldolgozással.

Az első előzetes dal a Country Heroes volt, abban Hank Williams III a vendég, a második a klipes klasszikus outlaw nóta volt, az Elvis és Johnny Cash által is feldolgozott Ghost Riders In The Sky, amelyben John Carter Cash (Johnny Cash fia), a felesége, Ana Cristina Cash és a Lamb Of God énekese, Randy Blythe a vendég, most pedig itt a harmadik előzetes tétel, a Copperhead Road. Az eredetileg Steve Earle által írt és előadott outlaw country dalban a DevilDriver vendége Brock Lindow a 36 Crazyfists-ből.

Dez Fafara: “Amikor kissrácként rászabadultam a szüleim lemezgyűjteményére, az tett engem zenefanatikussá. Megvolt nekik szinte minden, a Doorstól a Steppenwolfig, és egy csomó outlaw country lemez is. De igazából ezt a zenei világot akkor szerettem meg, amikor a Panterával turnéztunk.

Ezek a srácok folyton ilyen zenéket hallgattak a turnébuszon. Ha nem Willie Nelson szólt, akkor Johnny Cash és az ilyenek… A zene mellett a szövegekbe is beleszerettem, annyira kib…ottul valóságosak voltak… A blues-nak és az outlaw country-nak köszönhetjük a rock’n’rollt. Ez még jóval megelőzte a rock’n’rollt is… és a fejemben mindig is nagyon súlyos formában hallottam ezeket a dalokat.”
