follow-up to that last ask: the allergic to pussy spectrum is sidney crosby to jaime benn
Dgajjdhkaksk, it's bad because I'm attracted to both of them (big, big boys) and the knowledge that they'd probably be mediocre even at the most basic piv sex hasn't deterred me (the candace owens shit sure did though 🚮).
Imo sid is enthusiastic but ultimately has been told too many times by hot hot woman that his performance is satisfactory when in actuality it is mediocre at best... (never getting over that puckbunny that referred to him as an annoying imp or some such thing.) Meanwhile Jamie benn just has the repressed, uneducated straight man "pussy gross" sickness and therefore can't be retrained and must be pegged for the rest of eternity instead. Whomp whomp :/

ummm, benn is a bitch to take dunns stick and punch him while he's on the bench. Captain Yanni would never. I know Lars took good care of calming down Vince in the locker room.....as did the Kraken road wifie 😈
This quickly became a very long hockey-stats-based post, so I have put my rant about why Benn is a horrible teammate and captain beneath the read more.
Having watched Yanni play hockey for many years in Tampa before he moved over to the Kraken I wouldn't say he would never BUT he would leave it out on the ice, not on the bench like Benn. Yanni likes to start shit and get under their skin, but I don't think he would be taking another player's stick from the bench.
Lars and Vince seem like such great friends - and Dunn plays with so much passion that I'm sure that Lars has had to learn a few things on how to bring Dunn back down to a calm. And a RW would have to master this so fast, and she would be very good at it.
I said it in 2019, and I have been saying it for years. Benn is an anchor on his team - and not the good kind. Jaime Benn has had 768 (90 in the playoffs) Penalty Minutes in his career. To compare these are the career penalty minutes of some of his teammates. The teammates I selected are In a similar age range. The number in brackets is their playoff penalty minutes)
Seguin - 277 (24)
Marchment - 151 (16)
Pavelski - 438 (82)
Dadonov - 38 (4)
Glendening - 259 (12)
Suter - 733 (58)
And their career playoff stats in comparison. It will be formatted as games played - goal - assists - plus/minus
Benn 75-21-37-+10
Seguin 104-20-37-+12
Marchment 19-6-2- -7
Pavelski 172-69-62-+4
Dadonov 13-4-3-+3
Glendening 32-4-2- -7
Suter 104-6-31- -24
The PK for the Dallas Stars this season was 82% in 2019, 79% in 2020-2022 and 83% this season. Which I would argue is pretty good. As the best in the NHL this season was 87% (BOS). But that means the opponent is scoring the other 17% of the time.
With Benn's 34 penalty minutes this season, assuming each is a 2-minute minor - that would mean taking a goal against 5 times during the season because he took a penalty. If we take that same calculation and apply it to his career penalty minutes of 768 that is 130 goals against total and 15 in the postseason. That is 15 goals that have cost him a game, and even a playoff series. *cough*Against Tampa Bay*cough* - I am a strong believer that he cost Dallas the cup in the bubble with the penalties he took during that series.
It absolutely baffles me that this man has the C when he fails to embody the characteristics I believe a Captain should have on the ice. He does not have to be the best scorer on the team, but he should not be the one that always finds himself in the box either. It would be like giving Tom Wilson the C in Washington.

Can I ask about your hockey rpf fic? There’s something about your writing that feels really familiar and I’m wondering if I’ve read something by you before
oh that's totally possible. I haven't talked about this in years, I'm super embarrassed by it (not trying to put any shame on you) but LET'S GO
I was super active in 2017, I think? all my fics are still published on AO3, but orphaned. I also made the mistake of leaving links to my tumblr in the footers (A MISTAKE YOU ONLY MAKE ONCE) which made me change my main tumblr url a few years ago. if there's a URL in the end author's note to a tumblr with 'ron' in the handle, that's me
I'm trying to remember what specific ships I wrote. a bunch of jaime benn and tyler seguin. tyler seguin and that handsome older guy who used to be on the blackhawks. sydney crosby and.. jesus christ I forget everyone's name, the redheaded guy on the flyers who hates him. I think those were the main ones.
you HAVE to message me if you do know something of mine, that would be so funny. sorry to everyone else who had to read this

¿Gervonta Davis esquiva a Devin Haney? Devin Haney ha estado buscando reservar una pelea contra Davis, quien ahora quiere subir de peso nuevamente para enfrentarse a Benn. Chris Eubank Jr vs. Liam Smith Fight Preview

Published: January 20, 2023
The first big UK fight card of 2023 sees Chris Eubank Jr (32-2, 23 KO’s) finally make his return to the ring on 21st January 2023 at the AO Arena in Manchester, England, to face Liverpool’s Liam Smith (32-3-1, 19 KO’s) after Eubank’s much-anticipated clash with Conor Benn was called off back in October 2022.
Sky Sports Box Office will televise Eubank vs. Smith in the UK, with BOXXER and Wasserman Boxing sharing promotional duties.
Eubank and Benn were set to rekindle their fathers’ 1990’s rivalry in October, but the fight was canceled after Benn failed a drugs test, although Benn is adamant that there was injustice at play and he is fighting to clear his name.
That fight, perhaps inevitably, may very well still happen at some point, but for now, Eubank is in another exciting fight with ‘Beefy.’ With aspirations of fighting the likes of Gennady Golovkin and Saul ‘Canelo’ Alvarez in 2023, this is a must-win for Eubank.
Smith is a former super welterweight world champion, looking for this fight to catapult himself back into world title shot contention.
Eubank’s two professional career losses were to Billy Joe Saunders via split decision in November 2014 and George Groves via unanimous decision in February 2018. He is a former British and WBA Interim middleweight champion and IBO super middleweight champion. Eubank is currently on a six-fight winning streak since the loss to Groves. His most recent outing was a unanimous decision win against Liam Williams in February 2022, with Williams touching the canvas four times.
Smith’s first pro loss was a ninth-round KO defeat to Canelo in September 2016, when Smith lost his WBO super welterweight title. His other two losses have been unanimous decisions to Jaime Munguia and Magomed Kurbanov. Smith won the vacant WBO Inter-Continental super welterweight championship against Jessie Vargas at Madison Square Garden in April 2022 before making a homecoming return at the Echo Arena in Liverpool with a fourth-round stoppage of Hassan Mwakinyo.
Recent wins against Anthony Fowler and Vargas have given Smith some good momentum, with his career back on track. Defeat against Eubank could be career-ending, while victory would renew hopes of becoming a two-time world champion.
This has been a highly anticipated match-up on British shores for some time now.
Speaking at the heated final press conference, Eubank said: “I’m cutting weight right now, so I’m on a good solid 40, 45, 44% right now, but I’ll be 50% on the night, absolutely, a strong 50%, and that’ll be more than enough to take care of the man to my left.”
Eubank is carrying on his “60% baby” style trash talk from the Benn fight.
Approaching the end of a fiery presser, Smith outlined his aspirations to get a win by any means necessary.
“It’s just the win that matters regardless, but there’s nothing more that I’d love than to make a statement and stop Chris Eubank, but a win regardless by any means necessary.”
Eubank is the naturally bigger man, having competed at 168 lbs before, and Smith is the man with more experience at the top level. Smith has also been more active than Eubank as of late, which may be a deciding factor on the night.
Chris’ father, Eubank Sr, competed in a golden age alongside the likes of Nigel Benn and Michael Watson in the early 1990s. They took part in contests that captivated UK audiences and created legacies.
Whether Eubank Jr and Smith can recreate such all-out, exhilarating action to captivate audiences, in the same way remains to be seen. Still, with this clash of styles and personal dislike, fireworks are surely inevitable.

my nhl hot takes with analysis: central division
a conclusion to a series probably no one wanted
jonathan toews - woke king who hikes in a tank top of his dog and gets into instagram battles over racism in his little hut in the middle of bum-fuck ontario, definitely could be the hockey GT Dave in another life, vegan and uses only sustainable brands, i would simp for him
blake wheeler - another socially aware legend (let him and JToews align their auras, get them on a team i dare you), super cool how he was one of the first to support the protests and donated/posted about allyship, an honorary canadian
gabe landeskog - another honorary canadian, such a beautiful man and you literally couldn't tell he is swedish, his daughter is seriously adorable
connor hellebuyck - (i am a closet jets fan) one of (if not) my favourite goalie, an absolute beast but a super chill dude, his dog is the cutest ever, GIVE HIM THE VEZINA RASK ALREADY HAS LIKE NINE
jt brown - love his family and how he is really committed to social justice, nose ring king
nathan mackinnon - his tims ads with sidney are hilarious (my mom watched compilations of those ads for two hours), one of the best in the game rn
pekka rinne - all i have to say: GOALIE GOALLLLLLLLLLLLL
cale makar - good to see someone from calgary do well, if he gets the calder over quinny i won’t be THAT mad
colton parayko - literally don’t know much about him except from all the videos with laila (?) and those were heartwarming, is he a himbo?
tyler seguin - didn’t really like him but really respect him for going to protests and better educating himself, mans can’t cook tho
ryan o’rielly - thought he was pretty scary at first but he seems super down to earth and genuine
patrik laine - he stresses me out, how does he play so much fucking fortnite???? like you have a job sir, why did you have 3000+ hours during the season
jaime benn - he gives me weird vibes idk change my mind
jordan binnington - no sir you should not have deserved to win the calder, you’re like 89 years old you fucking boomer, also no one thinks your horrible attitude and racist tweets are cute

The general rule on teams is for all players to speak English when it pertains to hockey. There's not much that needs to be said on the ice, so even if a player's English isn't great, he can find a way to get his point across.
"We're not Ernest Hemingway out there," Capitals goalie Braden Holtby explains. "We're like cavemen, really, with one-word answers. We're really dumbing things down here."
This should be the Caps team slogan for 2017-2018: We’re Not Ernest Hemingway Out There
Consider the Capitals, who have several Russian players, many of whom are linemates. "On the ice, they're talking in Russian about a play," Dallas Stars captain Jamie Benn says. "And you kind of wonder what they have going on.”
The Capitals also have a Swedish faction. Last season, Washington's top power-play unit often featured Swedes Marcus Johansson and Nicklas Backstrom. Winger T.J. Oshie, an American, was on the ice too.
"They spoke in Swedish when they were running their little plays," Oshie says. "So before the faceoff, they didn't tell me at all what's going on. I'd just stand there and wait for them to make their plays. I'll just go to the same spot. I'm like, 'I'll just be ready when it comes to my stick.'"
No, wait, our new slogan is I'll Just Be Ready When It Comes To My Stick
