Hi anon. Sorry Jars did *gestures* that and I had to be insane about it before I could finish this.
In regards to your question. Actual hockey lore? No. Pensblr lore? Sorta.
The start of it is a screenshot from twitter that I’m reposting below that says “If a goalie makes over 40 saves and still loses they should be allowed to chase after their teammates with a knife.” I think it originally entered hockeyblr with Gibby last year cause he was getting shelled constantly but like it’s universal the same way love thy goalie is universal.
I wanna say last year between bad losses, bad defense, and Jars himself being spicy in various ways, it developed into he deserves a knife. What’s he gonna do with that knife - stab his enemies or his disappointing teammates - who knows who cares Jars can be trusted. He deserves one. Give him a knife. So whenever Jars is being extra spicy or the boys are playing bad in front of him, he deserves a knife. It’s a reward and a punishment and it’s whatever. One of the spicier (though knife-less) plays last year was Jars going to the bench for the extra attacker (delayed penalty) and full on checking Leon Draisatl. So yeah. Spicy.
God there’s also that one image of (the gc says it’s) Tukka Rask brandishing his skate blade after it popped off mid game. So that’s in there in the collective “you can definitely trust a goalie with a knife” brain space.
Avs games tend to swing wildly between kinda dull (rarely) or absolute mad lad hours (derogatory), there's no in-between. But yeah it looks like they're gonna miss the playoffs at this rate, so yeah it's bad.
I don't liken golden knights because they tend to play really rough and commit many penalties but they never get called on it, the refs always favor them, and the NHL in general always let's them get away with shit, for example when Kolesar charged Byram and caused him a concussion (which I think was the start of Byram's string of head injuries and issues related to that) that consecuently made him lose the rest of the season and part of the next one. It wasn't the first time kolesar did something like that and he was never suspended. And a lot of bullshit similar.
Also bud you're right, fuck the bruins, the only one I appreciate on that team is Pasta and that's It.
(can I ask why you're scared of mikko and compher tho? Cause it sounds kinda funny)
I'm really really hoping they manage to get it together and swing a playoffs spot, but yeah, I'm not holding my breath for it. I'll still support them next season either way and that's what matters to me.
OH YEAH FUCK THAT. I fucking HATE when there's obvious bias towards a team man, nothing sucks more than feeling like your team is losing SOLELY because of bad calls. And players getting away with massively injuring other plays is bullshit. I will join you on the VGK hate train over this, fuck them completely.
THANK YOU LMFAO I feel like I only ever see Bruins love on tumblr. So glad to have a Fellow Hater. I will say I don't hate Tukka Rask as much as I hate the other Bruins but 1) he's retired now so it's fine and 2) I only know of him from highlight reels. I also don't know anything about Pasta, though I do remember seeing some of his plays in clip videos (I think)
Honestly I don't know why I'm so scared of them. I think I'm scared of JT because he's got really big eyes and really big teeth and he's Really Big In General, and also for some reason his hair scares me. Like it's SO orange. I never expect his hair and then suddenly BOOM ginger. There's something just so uncanny valley about the way he looks to me aoisuaoidsuaoisud
The same kind of goes for Mikko, except his face never looks the way I think it's going to look and his eyes scare me. He looks like my baby cousin if my baby cousin played hockey instead of online FPSs. I am admittedly much less frightened of Mikko than I am of JT.
this blog doesn’t take criticism towards goalies. this blog is a monarchy where they rule. their words are the law and we don’t know democracy. If they think something, I agree. If they talk, I listen. If they order, I obey. If the world is against them, I’m against the world.
Hello, Birch here! People may or may not know this, but I am a New Englander by heart. I grew up in a very sport-centered house. My Dad grew up in the era of Larry Bird and Carl Yastrzemski, while Tukka Rask, Tom Brady and David Ortiz graced my television. Sports is still dear to my heart, and it was a way that I could relate to my Dad and be happy.
I remember going over to my Dad's parents. Big Sox fans, as many people are around here. Dad would prep me for the visit by making sure I knew who played what position, what number they were, and how baseball as a whole operated. So when six year old me rattled off sports facts to my Grampy, he was surprised yet elated. "Holy smokes!" He always used to say, and give me the biggest hugs.
Anyways, Dad made sure that I knew about sports and famous moments, past and present. He told me about the Yaz song and the Impossible Dream Season of 1967. He told me about Bobby Orr's famous flying goal and how he and his family reacted. Dad was a sports fan until the very end, and I still try to keep tabs on sports for him. But it feels weird to sit alone on the couch without him there.
Because of Dad's love of sports, I want to teach my family someday about Yaz, Orr, Bird, and the many others that were iconic New England sports figures. Although my Dad isn't here anymore, his love of sports will carry though me, and hopefully to the next generation.
This week Riot & Laura discuss: You guys, life in the bubble is like... hard, deepfake Sid is our favourite Sid, Stamkos so fragile, Hornqvist just got traded off the Titanic, Riot and Brent Burns would make for one hell of a good time, just because all goalies can twerk doesn't mean they should, who we would draft to our Kraken.
Fuck Tukka Rask, but not because he left the bubble I don't give a fuck about that. And frankly haven't seen anyone saying anything against that, but go off I guess...Just fuck him for supporting police brutality. Since everyone conveniently forgot about that.
