All of the Wicker kids (in order of age, with anything relevant that they do):
Jacob- basically functioned as a soldier of Mrs. Wicker’s crusades in season 2, Bern shot him in the leg when he held Violet and gunpoint, and he eventually realised that he and was wrong about the sorts of people at the Scoutpost. In season 3, he shot the vicar of the Church of the Hallowed Name, told his mom she sucks, and the went back and blew up the church with a bunch of other guys.
Joshua - Got murdered in season 4, has done nothing else of relevance.
Jocelyn - Has only been mentioned in two episodes but I’m kind of insane about her. She’s implied to be the primary caretaker for her siblings when her mom’s away.
Joel - Has been mentioned by name twice. Don’t worry about him I forgot about him too.
Jedidiah - Ran after Johannah at the start of season 2 and encountered Dimes. Was almost sacrificed by The Church in the same ritual that killed Al. (Technically not a girl but like. She is to me)
Johannah - Ran away in seasons 2 and 3, kind of friends with Russell
Jemimah - Literally only mentioned by name in a bonus story, don’t worry about her.
Jessica - Baby. Again. Don’t worry about her she doesn’t do anything.
I feel like I’m going to need a reference sheet for which Wicker is which with some memorable things they did.
They’re probably going to be appearing more and since when was there a Joel?
I literally only remember Johannah and Jacob.
And the name Jedediah, who until recently I thought was a girl… idk why I did.
I need someone to explain who is who, I’m been drowning in ‘J’ names and the synaesthesia isn’t helping.

wicker children appearance headcanons. why the hell not
jacob: very prominent creases in his glabella from furrowing his brows in disappointment
jocelyn: literally just jenny wright as mae in near dark. trust me on this
joshua: winner of fort freedoms most unfortunate mullet contest for ten years in a row
joel: the most nondescript one. idk what his deal is man
jemimah: extremely intense stare. like if an owl was a blue eyed husky
jedidiah: subtly growing out their hair, just long enough to not be obviously feminine. for now.
johannah: tooth gap haver. very rabbit esque. for reasons
jessica: copies literally everything jemimah does with her appearance, in true younger sister fashion

I know that I’m going to sound biased here and I probably am but I am CONVINCED that Jedidiah Wicker *specifically* is going to become a prominent character in a future season. It might be season 5, it might be later, idk, but the way that his character has been set up is so different from the other kids because from that opening scene in season 2 when he and Johannah encounter Dimes, there is something that distinctly sets him apart from his siblings and I’m pretty sure that even in season 4 Valerie notices that he seems more apologetic than Jacob and Johannah than causing a disturbance (episode 158) about causing a disruption. Anyways this all feels like a setup for something and if we don’t get payoff at some point I’ll be genuinely surprised and honestly a little disappointed.

Thinking of that one scene where Buck’s in punishment box or whatever that was supposed to be and he’s hungry and hurting and Jedidiah comes by and gives him something to eat, knowing full well that if he’s caught, he’ll be punished to and shfehdkdjjskakdnfjd
Imagine showing an act of kindness like that knowing full well that it’s only putting your own safety and wellbeing at risk. It’s such a small gesture, but it means so much. This child was raised by a hateful violent woman in a hateful and violent environment and he still chooses to risk his own comfort to help someone else.

I wrote a short fic about Jedidiah Wicker, but it feels too short to put up on ao3 so I'm sharing it here instead (writing under the cut)
Jedidiah’s gently holding a beetle. It’s smaller than most of the bugs he finds, but in his eyes it deserves the chance for a better life just as much as any beetle he finds scurrying through the room he shares with his brothers. Away from stinky loud teenage boys.
It doesn’t understand, however, that he’s trying to help it, and keeps trying to get through his fingers or crawl out of his cupped hands. He whispers little assurances to it, promising that he'll bring it to a better life, that if it stays inside, someone will crush it, but it doesn’t understand him.
He releases it a few feet outside, and it disappears into the grass. It will never know that he saved it. It will always be scared of him. This makes him sad. He wishes that he could talk to bugs, so it could understand why he took it outside.
When he walks back inside, Joshua and Jocelyn are still sitting on the floor talking about whatever teenagers talk about, Joshua looks up at him.
“What were you doing out there, buddy?” He asks, trying to sound nice.
“I was bringing out a little bug I found in our room, so it could be free, Jed explains.
Joshua makes a face that he can’t quite interpret, “It would have been easier just to kill it.”
“I know,” Jed responds plainly. He wants to tell him that that defeats the point, but Joshua doesn’t understand that even little bugs deserve a chance to have a better life.

Percy Reed and Jedidiah Wicker would both listen to Ethel Cain but the important distinction to make is that Percy’s favourite project of hers is Perverts and Jedidiah’s is Golden Age, and when Percy listened to Preacher’s Daughter the first time he sobbed violently whereas Jed just sort of sat and stared into space for 30 minutes afterwards.

Putting together a list of traits I give to various Wicker kids to make them distinct from their siblings because I feel like it and also to prove that they don’t all have to look the same (I might add pictures later but for now yallre just getting words)
Jacob: Post-S2 you can always add a cane or crutch, but additionally I tend to give him a perpetually sunburnt face, some freckles, and a scar on his cheek from a nonspecific incident as a child. Bonus points if he looks uncannily like his mother.
Jocelyn: I draw her a lot, I tend to give her a more drawn face than Jacob with eye bags (courtesy of her mother) and a broken nose (courtesy of her father). As a teen I like to make her a little pale and unhealthily skinny with long slightly stringy hair that she usually keeps braided. As an adult I draw her with more vitality, more weight, and shorter hair. Sometimes I give her a lazy eye like her mom, sometimes not, it depends on how good I am at art that day. Again: Bonus points if she looks like her mom.
Joshua: I’ve drawn his once and it looks really bad, but I imagine him looking like Jacob just with a really shitty mullet.
Joel: Blonde??? He’s legitimately the only Wicker kids that I have zero headcanons about so idk
Jedidiah: As a kid they’re definitely missing some teeth and I generally draw them with a scar on their bottom lip from when they went after Johannah and a mole under their left eye just because. They don’t have as many freckles as the rest of their siblings and look more like their dad. If they went on estrogen they would look like (slightly blonder) Ethel Cain.
Johannah: Her hair is actually kind of wavy (unlike the rest of her siblings) and while I draw them all with big eyes hers are the most doll-like, they’re big with really thick blonde lashes and give her a kind of unsettling resting face. I also think she has the most freckles of all her siblings. As a kid I like to draw her with double braids and as an adult I like to give her a little red streak in her hair. (She definitely looks the most distinct of all of them)
Jemimah: I’ve sort of given her the OC treatment, considering that I’ve come up with a weirdly complex story for her despite her not even being actually mentioned by name in the podcast lol. Anyways, I think she’s the most feminine of all her sisters and that on its own sets her apart, but I specifically imagine her having little pigtail braids (even into adulthood) that she ties off with pink ribbons. Even as a kid she looks a lot like Jocelyn.
Jessica: As a baby, she looks like a baby. After the time skip though, she has shorter unkempt hair (sort of a grown out side shave) and is on the more sickly side because of a variety of health issues. She also a large birthmark on her face.
