I reached forwards and grabbed the alcoholic drink I’ve been sipping on periodically while laughing and having a great time with some friends. Like every night after the Bengals first win of the season, Joe, my best friend and her husband, and me all go to our favorite bar in Cincinnati to celebrate the win, and today wasn’t any different.
The bengals first game of the season which was a home game was pretty much a shutout. Joe threw for over 400 yards and threw for 4 touchdowns, 3 of which were to ja’marr chase. It was everything we could’ve hoped for the first game of the season, so in celebration, we all came to this bar in the quieter part of Cincinnati.
We all sat at a small table in the back together while Joes hand rested on my thigh, squeezing and trailing his hand up and down it periodically, which sent shivers down my spine. As I sipped my drink, I got to the very end of it and then set it down on the table. “Alright, I’m going for another drink run. Anyone need anything else?” I asked the 3 other people at the table who were still laughing at something Joe said a few seconds ago.
From next to me, Joe patted my thigh. I looked over to him with a flustered smile on my face, the alcohol somewhat taking an effect. Damn, I was a lightweight. “I’m good, baby, but thank you.” Joe said and leaned over to me and placed a kiss on my cheek. My face flushed red and I looked over to my best friend, Serena, and her husband jonny. I let out a little giggle as Joe slid his hand up my skirt jokingly, knowing how it affected me. Once I contained myself, I cleared my throat and waited until they both said they could use another drink before I walked away.
As I walked away, I could feel Joe’s stare on me the entire time. Ever since we first met at LSU when he transferred, I was totally taken aback by him. The first thing that drew me in were his looks. Those locks that fell onto his forehead and those bright blue eyes. His body wasn’t bad either. What made me stay was his personality. Before I met Joe, I didn’t know a man could be so amazing, inside and out. I mean we’re talking about a nerdy, Lego and SpongeBob loving, funny, kind, thoughtful man. What more could a girl ask for?
When I got to the bar, I found a place to squeeze myself in and placed myself between two people. After a few seconds, the bartender walked over to me so I put in all of our drink orders and started to sing along to the music quietly, wanting the time to pass quicker. “Oh my gosh…is that really you?” A familiar voice asked from next to me. I raised an eyebrow and looked over to the man before my mouth practically dropped open. “Luke? What the hell are you doing here?” I asked in a shocked tone and instantly wrapped my arms around him. The both of us just laughed, shocked to see one another.
Back at LSU, Luke and I used to hang out pretty frequently. It was never anything more than two friends getting together, getting high, or getting drunk-even studying in some rare cases. Our little friend group consisted of me, Luke, anna who was Luke’s girlfriend, and Serena, my best friend. But, since Luke was 2 years older than me, by the time Joe came along Luke had graduated, which means I never got to introduce Joe to him and the friend group kind of broke up and became Serena, me, Joe, Ja’marr chase, and Justin Jefferson.
“Since Anna grew up here, we decided to move back. What are you doing here?” He asked me as we pulled away. “I followed my boyfriend here after college. When I get my drinks you’ll have to come meet him, he transferred right after you left.” I told him. After hesitating for a few seconds, he nodded and flashed me a smile. “Yeah, I definitely will have to meet him. So how have you been? How’s your writing going?” He asked me. “I’m good, writings been good too. I actually published my second book a few weeks ago. What about you? How has your business major been going?” I asked him with laugh, knowing back in college he had no idea what to do with it. “I actually didn’t do anything with it. I’m a police officer how. I love that I found out what I was passionate about after I spent thousands of dollars on college.” He laughed. I laughed and grabbed the drinks the bartender set down in front of me as was about to invite Luke over to our table so Joe could meet him.
All of a sudden, I felt a hand slide around my waist and looked to the side to see Joe practically hovering over me and Luke, who was shorter than me. I couldn’t help but notice the angry expression on Joe’s face and how he was clenching his jaw. I was about to open my mouth to introduce them but Joe spoke right over me. “Hey, I’m Joe, Her boyfriend. And you are?” Joe said abruptly, giving Luke a fake smile in the process. I looked up to Joe with a glare on my face at his rudeness and was about to say something yet again when Luke talked first. “Hey, Luke. It’s good to meet you, man.” Luke said and held out his hand for Joe to shake it.
Joe just glared down at his hand and then looked right back up at his face, not shaking his hand. “Excuse us, Luke. It was great seeing you again.” I said. I flashed Luke a smile before grabbing onto Joe’s arm and tried to pull him with me, but he wouldn’t budge. Why did he have to be so strong? I could feel his arm muscles as I gripped onto his bicep before I said, “Joe?” In a somewhat pissed off tone. I saw Joe look Luke up and down before grabbing two drinks in his hand while I grabbed the other one and started walking with me.
I scoffed a little bit and stopped walking before we got to the table so Serena and Jonny couldn’t hear us. I turned to face Joe as we both set our drinks on the nearest table. Joe was just looking down at me with a pissed look on his face. “What the hell was that, Joe?” I asked him. Joe looked like I was the stupid one before he gestured over to Luke and said, “What the hell was that?” I looked at him like I was missing something. What was his fucking deal? “Me catching up with a friend from LSU and you being a fucking dick before I was able to introduce the two of you, that’s what it’s called, Joe.” I said.
Joe just looked me up and down while biting his lip slightly and said, “I don’t care what it’s called. I don’t like the way he was looking at you. I’m your fucking boyfriend, not him.” I let out a small laugh and shook my head, taken aback. “What, do you not trust me now or something? When have I ever given you a reason to not trust me.” I practically spat at him, getting even more annoyed as we talked. Never in our time as a couple have I ever been unfaithful. “It’s him that I don’t trust. If you haven’t noticed, you’re the most gorgeous girl in this entire bar.” Joe said.
What reason would he have for not trusting Luke? Could he not see by the way I reacted that we were only friends who haven’t seen each other in a while? And anyways, he overreacted before he even got the whole story. I couldn’t help but laugh at him a little bit. “He has a fucking girlfriend, Joe. Why are you so jealous?” I asked him. “It doesn’t matter that he has a fucking girlfriend,” Joe said quickly and looked over at Luke before he looked even more pissed and gestured angrily over to him, “I mean look at the way he’s staring at your fucking ass right now.”
Without even looking at Luke, I scoffed while shaking my head at him and said, “you’re unreal.” Joe squinted down at me. “So now I’m not allowed to be pissed when a random man is drooling all over you?” He asked me. I put my hands on the top of my head for a few seconds before letting them slide off, shocked at how he was acting. “You are blowing this way out of proportion, Joseph. We were friends back at LSU.” I said. “Why, because I don’t want a man who used to be your friend flirting with my girlfriend and staring at her ass? You’re mine.” Joe said.
“Exactly, I’m yours. I’m yours and you are mine, so who the fuck cares that someone I was friends with a few years ago was flirting with me?” I asked him. Joe looked over in the direction of our table and grabbed my arm gently and moved us a few feet away. While he was moving me, I looked back at the table to see Serena and Jonny staring at us, knowing something was going on.
When we stopped, Joe looked right into my eyes. For the first time during this entire conversation, my face flushed red and I could feel myself getting turned on slightly. Why was this so hot right now? “I do. I care. I am the only one that should be flirting and looking at you like that.” Joe said. I tried my hardest to hide my smile because despite how much I was annoyed with him and his jealousy, he was really fucking hot.
After a few seconds, I couldn’t hide it any more and smiled up at him. Joe glared at me in confusion while butterflies flew around in my stomach. “You’re honestly pretty freaking hot when you’re jealous.” I said, my face heating up a little bit from the dirty thoughts in my head as I admired Joe and his pissed off state. Joe started to smirk a little bit but when he realize what he was doing, he cleared his throat and the smirk was gone just like that. “It’s not funny. Do you know how much I wanted to smash his fucking face into that bar?” Joe asked me. With a little glare, I wrapped my arms around his neck and tried to pull him closer, but he wouldn’t budge. So, I tried to go closer to him, but all he did was back up.
I stopped moving and then stuck out my bottom lip jokingly, knowing one of his weaknesses was when I looked sad. With an annoyed look on his face, he wrapped his arms around my waist, hating the effect I had on him. We both pulled each other in closer so I leaned forwards and kissed Joe’s lips. Not expecting it at first, Joe pulled back slightly and gazed into my eyes before smashing his lips against mine. Joe breathed in the kiss as I arched my back. Joe kissed me back hard and right before we pulled away, Joe bit my bottom lip gently. “Was he watching that?” I breathed out with a smile. Joe looked up at the bar past my head and then nodded with a small smile. “Good.” I said and turned around to look in the direction of the bar with our arms still around each other. My eyes caught Luke’s who immediately looked away with an embarrassed, awkward, and nervous look on his face. I looked away and to Joe while running my fingers through his hair. “Let him be the jealous one, I’m not going anywhere Joey. Ever.” I said.

neeeeeddd a joe burrow fic based off a harry song…grapejuice? satellite? daylight? keep driving? so many good options!!!!!
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
blurb based on grapejuice, harry styles
Joe sipped his beer, lounging by the pool with his phone in his right hand. He was spending some of his much needed vacation time with friends in Cancun after the end of the season. It had only been a few months since his split from you, his recovery process with his wrist still incessant.
He opened Instagram to your bikini-clad body, staying on the lake just as the two of you had the prior summer. He swiped over to find another picture of you, this time hugging one of your girlfriends with a drink in your hand. He saw that you were staying in the same Airbnb, recognizing the backyard and picnic tables that your friends had filled out when you had come up with the idea that you both grill for everyone. While you had given a solid effort, he ended up doing most of the grilling while you frequented the cooler of High Noons.
He tried to shake the memory of your bathing suit beneath his wrinkled white button up you’d thrown on, leaving it flowing and open against the crimson fabric of the bikini. He watched you all afternoon, drunk and pressing sloppy kissed on his neck and exposed back if you couldn’t quite make it onto your tiptoes to reach his lips.
“Alright, killer,” Joe eventually chuckled, gently slipping the drink out of your hand. “I think it’s time for some water, it’s only three and you’re washed. I can hardly keep up.”
“Joey,” you sat up, attempting to look more sober and relaxed. “Are you cutting me off?”
“Think of it more like an intermission,” he returned to your side with a bottle of water and ran his hand down the top of your head and back of your hair affectionately as he sat and let his arm rest around your shoulders while everyone ate and talked.
He was staring at the same backyard, except this time it was just you returning and he was forced to stomach the feeling of the loss again. The worst part wasn’t even the pictures, or the fact that you could so easily sit in a place where you’d created so many memories with him. It was how happy you looked, the color in your face and the fullness of your cheeks.
He could hardly function without you, even when he was out with his friends and laughing. It took being five or six drinks deep just for him to crack a smile these days. You looked radiant, however, and he detested himself for not being able to get to where you were.

Girl Dad
Joe Burrow x Reader
Joe takes his daughter to practice
Tumblr media
9 days after entering the world, your daughter made her first Bengals practice debut. Since then, she’s spent most of her Sundays there as well. That is truly a right that comes with being the quarterbacks daughter.
Joe was the best dad. Even before she was born her catered to your every need. He continues to jump at her every whim.
“You ready to go, baby girl?” He asks, pulling into the facility parking lot. You had to travel for a work emergency with no notice, leaving Joe in charge for the day. “C’mon.” He pulls her from the car and slung the diaper bag over his shoulder, heading inside.
The sound of loud conversation and even louder music can be heard from the locker room as Joe makes his way down the hallway. Appearing around the corner with the small baby in his arms, everyone gasps. The locker room turned into a silent dead zone.
Usually there’s a strict no girls allowed rule in the locker room, but today the team would make an exception.
“Mama had to leave town, so we’re adding another player to the roster for the day.” Joe jokes with the team.
It was the day after a game so there wouldn’t be much practicing going on. Just watching film, talking about the upcoming game, and going over plays.
“Hi sweetie.” Ja’Marr takes the baby from Joes arms, giving him a chance to tuck the diaper bag into his locker and slip out of his coat.
“She loves her uncle Ja’Marr.” Joe admires his friends playfulness with his daughter.
“But she loves her Uncle Sam more!” Sam interrupted the conversation, taking your daughters tiny hand into his big one and cooing at her.
The guys filtered into the film room, finding a spot to take a seat so they could start the days meetings.
Your daughter was mostly content sitting on Joes lap. He bounced her on his knee and intently watched the screen in front of him. Almost as if she knew what was coming, she let out a loud shriek just as the team rewatched a play of Joe taking a hard hit.
“That’s what I’m saying too.” Joe laughs in response before quickly excusing himself from the room.
The training room was empty with the exception of two. Joe cradled his daughter in his arms, lightly bouncing her as he fed her a bottle. “This is where daddy works out.” He gives her a tour of the room. “So he can stay strong and healthy and take care of you for a long, long time.” He admires the tiny girl in his arms.
Soon enough, she’s drifted off to sleep in his arms. The bottle replaced with a binky which is bouncing up and down as she sucks on it in her sleep and a pink blanket wrapped around her.
Joe makes his way back into the room with the rest of the team. He presses a finger to his lips, motioning for the rest of the team to be quiet.
In that moment, he feels like a true winner, cradling his most prized possession, the best trophy ever, in his arms.

Surprise | Joe Burrow
Tumblr media
summary — Moving house is not always stress-free. But despite the last few hard weeks, Joe makes sure to put a smile on your face with a surprise
pairing — joe burrow x reader
words — 1952
notes — thanks for your request. I hope you like it!!🧡
The last few weeks and months had been associated with a lot of stress and headaches.
Anyone who loved moving and said that it wasn't so bad and stressful was completely wrong.
For Joe and you, there had been nothing worse in the last few weeks and months than setting up your new home and packing moving boxes.
The countless hours spent in various furniture stores had been a lot of fun for you, but when it came to painting various walls and putting together all the countless pieces of furniture, there was the occasional argument between you out of sheer desperation.
However, you were able to resolve the small arguments about how you should place the furniture in the respective rooms fairly quickly, so that every small argument was resolved within a few minutes.
"This is finally the last one." Joe puts the last box down in the hallway before running his fingers through his completely disheveled hair.
"We've finally done it," you murmur with relief and hand Joe a bottle of water before sitting down on the step and catching your breath.
In the last two hours, you've moved countless boxes from your old home to your new home and dragged them inside, so you're more than sure you'll be feeling sore muscles for the next few days.
"Finally," Joe agrees as he sits down next to you on the step and you rest your head on his shoulder.
"And who's going to unpack all our stuff now?" you mumble tiredly as you look at the piles of boxes blocking the passage to the open-plan living and dining room.
"That's the question..." Joe takes a big gulp from his water bottle before running his fingers through his hair again and letting out a loud sigh.
The move is already pretty exhausting as it is, but then there's the hot weather, which has doubled the strain on your strength.
"How about we take a little break first? We rest and eat a little and then we'll take care of all the boxes?" Joe suggests after a few minutes of silence, which almost caused you to doze off any second.
"Sounds like a great plan. If I knew where my bikini was, I'd jump into the cold water first and inaugurate our new pool."
A highlight for you is definitely the large pool in the garden, where you can swim a few lengths undisturbed or simply float in the water with an inflatable swimming animal.
"Fortunately, I've made sure that we can easily get to our swimming gear.
With a proud smile on his lips, Joe lifts a bag in front of your nose, from which he pulls out your bikini and you jump for joy, shrieking softly around your boyfriend's neck.
"You don't know how much I love you."
You give Joe a kiss on the cheek and then pick up your bikini.
Joe gives you a soft laugh in response.
"Let's see who's in the pool first." He more or less challenges you and before you can answer, Joe has already disappeared into the bathroom to get changed.
"That's not fair! You started way too early!" you shout after him with a laugh and slowly get up from the stairs.
You can already feel the muscles in your arms and thighs starting to ache slightly and you probably won't be able to move without pain tomorrow.
But you don't really care about that right now, because the only thing that matters right now is the pool of your new garden, so you quickly change into your everyday clothes and then throw on your favorite bikini before grabbing your towel and running into the garden.
Your old garden was quite small and had hardly any space to do anything big in it, which wasn't the case at all in the new garden.
The new garden is almost three times the size of the old garden and offers so much space for countless possibilities that the huge green space is almost crying out to be filled with beautiful things.
Once the house is ready, Joe and you will get to work on the garden, for which your Pinterest board was already almost overflowing with countless different possibilities just waiting to be realized.
"Do you want to keep staring at the garden or finally join me in the pool?" Joe's voice pulls you back to the here and now.
Your boyfriend is already in the water, floating on his back through the water, looking so relaxed and rested that a smile spreads across your lips.
"The water's even nice and cold" he adds as he slowly stands up and swims over to the edge of the pool.
"Just what I need, then."
A smile forms on your lips as you walk across the warm lawn to the pool and then sit down at the edge and let your legs slide into the cold water.
A soft sigh leaves your lips as you begin to feel the cold water on your skin. Joe is right, despite the heat today, the water is incredibly pleasant, so you slide into the cool water without hesitation and then stand opposite Joe.
"I was telling the truth," he smiles, trying to tell you that he's not always pulling your leg like you accused him of a few days ago.
Because every now and then Joe loved to pull your leg, more or less.
Just yesterday he tried to convince you to watch a movie that wasn't even supposed to be scary. But in the end, you were so creeped out that you had to bury your face in Joe's shirt for the rest of the movie.
"This time, but who knows when you won't. I think you like to tease me, Burrow, and that's not fair."
You splash a little water on his face, which only makes the person opposite you start to laugh quietly.
"Lie. I would never do this. How could I?" he replies with a laugh and a hint of sarcasm in his voice.
"You're such a liar," you pout lightly as you swim towards him and then cling to him, trying to somehow push him under the water, which turns out not to be too easy.
Joe is standing so firmly that you barely manage to move him even an inch.
A resounding laugh rings out above you, which only makes you pout even more.
"That's not fair."
"Oh, y/n. You really are incredibly cute." amused, Joe presses a gentle kiss to your forehead as he wraps his arms tightly around you and starts to swim off with you.
"I'll probably have to eat the whole pizza by myself today so that I can push you under the water tomorrow," you reply with a shrug and a big grin on your lips, to which Joe just rolls his eyes.
"How much time do we have until the pizza arrives?"
After you had put on your bikini, you ordered pizza for both of you via a delivery service so that you didn't have to cook anything or drive out to get something to eat.
"About another thirty minutes."
"That's enough." In one swift movement, Joe lifts you out of the pool and climbs out after you.
"Hey, we haven't been in the pool long," you pout again as Joe puts the towel around your shoulders and you snuggle up in it.
"We still have enough time for this in the coming weeks, months and years."
You watch Joe as he also puts a towel around his shoulders before holding out his hand to you with the words "Follow me, I have a suprise for you"
"A surprise? I love surprises!" you exclaim in anticipation as you take Joe's hand in yours and another soft laugh comes from Joe's direction.
"I know that. That's why I love giving you surprises." Joe squeezes your hand gently before walking with you across the lawn to the small hut at the end of the garden.
In fact, it wasn't exactly rare for Joe to give you a surprise.
He often brought you flowers, your favorite sweets or ice cream after training or after a game.
He also often took you out to dinner or on other romantic dates.
Joe's romantic side was one of the many reasons you fell in love with the Bengals quarterback.
"Do you want to show me all the big, nasty spiders in the cabin?" you ask with a slightly contorted face as you start to think back to the day of the tour.
Because on the day you first visited your dream house and were blown away by it, the hut more or less disgusted you.
Because the huge mess, which was accompanied by countless spiders and cobwebs in the hut, had already given you a big stomach ache during the viewing, so that you were already dreading having to clear this hut of all the spiders and cobwebs one day and then clean it out.
"No, don't worry," Joe assures you as you stop in front of the hut, which now has a new coat of white paint and no longer shows the hideous peeling paint, and Joe takes out the keys.
Outside the windows of the hut you can see white curtains that hadn't been there before.
Before you can even ask Joe why the cabin has curtains, Joe opens the door and gently pushes you inside and what you see inside leaves you open-mouthed.
The walls are lined with countless white bookshelves that reach up to the ceiling. There is a ladder on the shelves, which ensures that you can easily reach the top shelves.
All your books have found their place on the shelves and despite all this, there are still countless free compartments for more new books.
There is also a cozy armchair for reading, a matching stool, lots of fairy lights and lamps, as well as a rug that makes the room even cozier.
"Wow..." you stammer, overwhelmed, as you slowly turn in a circle, trying to take in every corner of the room.
Joe stands in the doorway and watches you with a broad smile as tears slowly well up in your eyes and you look over at him, moved.
"Surprise," he whispers as you cross the room in three long strides and fall into your boyfriend's arms as sobs escape you.
"Thank you, darling," you whisper, sobbing into his chest as he wraps his arms around you and hugs you gently.
"I thought this hut was perfect for your reading room. Here you can read undisturbed and run your book blog and all your other book channels."
"It really is. You don't know how much this means to me, thanks Joe." You slowly lift your gaze and look into your boyfriend's shining eyes.
"I was happy to do that, y/n. It's incredibly important to me that you have your own four walls where you can pursue your passion and since our house isn't really finished yet, it was important to me that this room is finished first and that you have it so that you can retreat and immerse yourself in the world of books."
Joe's words cause countless tears to start rolling down your cheeks.
You can't put into words how touched you are by his words and his surprise, so you whisper a quiet "Thank you" and then press your lips to Joe's.
And you realize once again how much you love Joe. And how grateful you are that he is by your side and that you are the one who gets to wake up by his side every day.

pairing: cocky!joe burrow x reader
summary: you and joe have been hooking up for the past year, and joe wants to stop, but he just can’t and continues to string you along, so you make the choice for him
warnings: language, angst, slight smut
masterlist
a/n: i’m back???? also this is mad shitty, but it’s been a year, so i’m a bit rusty
the sound of your phone ringing is enough to wake you from your sleep. you roll over to face the nightstand and grab your phone. you check the time and it’s 3:13 am. who the fuck is calling me this late? you think. your question is answered when you check the caller id, joey<3 is in big white letters across the top of your phone screen.
“hello?” you answer. “you busy right now?” joe immediately asks. really? no greeting? “no joe of course i’m not busy at 3:15 in the morning.” “good. come over.” he demands. “didn’t you say the last time we did this that we couldn’t do it again?” you inquire. “i know what i said y/n. just one more time. please. i need you.” joe basically begs you. you sigh. “fine give me fifteen minutes.”
you slowly begin to get up from your bed and head to your bathroom. you brush out your hair and pull a claw clip from your drawer to put into your hair. you walk out of the bathroom and into your closet; you grab a pair of spandex booty shorts and an oversized tshirt. you find some socks and your air forces and slide them on your feet. you take one last look at yourself in the mirror before grabbing your phone, wallet, and keys and heading out the front door.
why do i do this to myself? you ask yourself every single time you leave to meet up with joe. you know how this ends; you hook up, he tells you it’s the last time, then you leave. it’s an endless cycle. he has you under his thumb, and no matter how hard you try, you can’t escape him.
the drive to joe’s place gives you the time to think about how you wound up here, driving in your car to go hook up with joe burrow.
you met joe at your friend’s bachelorette party which was at her favorite club. that night, joe was there with his teammates celebrating the bengals’ win against the chiefs. the moment he walked into the club his eyes were drawn to you immediately, and yours to his. about thirty minutes went by before he actually approached you.
you could feel the tension lingering in the air just begging to be released. joe asked you to go home with him and how could you say no? looking back on it now, you should have.
your thoughts are cut off by your phone ringing. you look at the caller id, and surprise surprise, it’s joe. “yes?” you answer. “where are you? you told me to give you fifteen minutes and it’s been twenty.” joe asks you. “joe i’m literally pulling up right now, calm down.” before he’s able to respond, you hang up and pull into his driveway.
you get out of your car and walk towards his front door, but before you can knock, the door swings open revealing a shirtless joe standing in front of you. you take a few seconds to admire him before he grabs your hand and pulls you into the house.
before you can even get a word in, he’s kissing you roughly, your tongues and teeth clashing together. “jump.” joe tells you breathlessly. you jump and wrap your legs around his waist, with his hand coming to rest on your ass. he begins to walk to his bedroom that you’ve become way too familiar with. joe kicks open the door and sits down on the bed, so you’re sitting in his lap. you mindlessly start to grind against his clothed cock.
joe breaks the kiss to look into your eyes. “you’re so beautiful, you know that?” he says to you, and you almost believe him. “joe please don’t say that.” “why not?” he asks you, confused. “because when you say things like that you make it so much harder to leave.” joe gives you a look you can’t decipher. “we both know you’re not gonna leave.” he smirks at you. “this is the last time joe i mean it. listen, there’s something i have to tell you.” you can’t look him in the eyes at this point. “what is it baby?” joe brings his hand up to hold your cheek. “i got a job offer in new york. it’s my dream job and it pays well, so i have to take it.”
joe stays silent for a few second before he moves you off of him so he can stand up. “so you’re leaving? just like that? you’re gonna throw everything we have away?” he says while beginning to pace back and forth. “everything we have? joe we’re fuck buddies! that’s all we are and that’s all we’ll ever be!” you raise your voice at him. “if you think we’re just fuck buddies then you’re fucking blind y/n!” “how am i blind joseph? please enlighten me!” you spit at him. “have you not noticed that every time you come over, i try to convince you to stay? i’ve offered to make you dinner, i’ve asked you to be with me on valentine’s day, i’ve tried everything to make you see that i’m in love with you!” the moment those words leave his mouth, you freeze. “you’re what?” “i’m in love with you y/n. i have been since the night i met you. every time you leave, i get this feeling that i hate. i don’t wanna be away from you.” he tries to step closer to you, but you don’t let him. “joe, no. don’t do this. don’t say you love me; we both know you don’t mean it. you’re only saying this because you don’t wanna lose the only girl that will be at your beck and call whenever you please.” you can feel the tears prickling at your eyes.
“what? no y/n. i love you. i really do. please stay in ohio, and let me prove it to you.” he begins to beg. “joe i can’t. we both know that we wouldn’t work. i’m sorry i can’t do this.” you stand up from his bed and walk out of his bedroom. you can hear joe’s footsteps following behind you. “y/n please don’t leave.” you don’t respond and continue walking towards his front door, but before you can open it, joe’s hand is on the doorknob. “don’t do this. don’t take that job. stay here with me, just give this a chance. please.” you find the courage to look up, and you see a tear going down his cheek. “joey listen, if you had told me this a long time ago, i would have given us a chance, and i wouldn’t take the job. it’s too late for us. i’m sorry joe, but i have to go.” he says nothing and lets go of the doorknob. you open the door and begin walking towards your car. the moment you get in and lock your doors, you break down. of course you’re in love with joe, but this is your dream job. you can’t let anything or anyone stand in the way of that, not even joe. you compose yourself and put your car into drive, not looking back. deep down you know you’ve made the right choice, but you can’t help but think about what could’ve been.

--------------------------------------------------------------
“Joe!” You moaned as you felt the hot shower water dripping down your body. Joe’s head fell to the crook of your neck, sucking the soft skin which would be sure to leave a purple mark.
“Shit, don’t stop,” you cried as he pounded into you, your body starting to feel sore since you have had your arms wrapped around his neck and legs around his waist for a good half hour. He was helping you out by holding you up, but everything about what was happening in the shower made you feel sore, in a good way of course.
“Y/N…” he groaned. “Fuck, you feel so good,”.
You felt a familiar sensation in your stomach as he continued to thrust into you, his grip on your waist tightening.“I’m close,” you whisper as you throw your head back against the shower wall.
“Shit, hang on for me baby,” Joe said as he picked up the pace of his thrusts, pushing you up against the wall each time. You whined at the feeling of him pushing himself deeper inside of you, which you thought was impossible.
“Joe,” you whimpered again. “Right there,”. Joe’s rapid pace and deep thrusts were pushing you closer and closer to your orgasm, his cock grazing your g-spot.
You move one of your hands into his wet curls and push him closer to your face, capturing him in a sloppy kiss as he continues to thrust into you. One particularly rough thrust causes you to break away. You felt the rubber band in your core snap as were clenching around his cock, “Joe,” you moaned into his ear as you came.
“Y/N,” he moaned as he felt himself reaching his own pleasure. A few more thrusts later, you felt hot spurts of his cum fill your slick core as his head dropped down to your shoulder again, pressing soft kisses on your collarbone.
As the water continued to rain down on you both, Joe and You stood in each other's arms, your bodies entwined in the lingering heat of your love. You knew that in that moment, there was no place you would rather be than together, lost in the blissful embrace of the shower.
“I love you,” he pants while pressing a few more kisses on your lips.
“I love you too,” you say back with a smile.
A little while later, you're standing in front of the bathroom mirror in your pink robe as you inspect the new purple marks littered around your neck.
Joe walks up behind you, cupping the nape of your neck with his hand and rubbing it. “Sorry about that,” he softly says.
You look back at him and smile, “It’s Okay, I’m used to it by now,”.
What was supposed to be a quick shared shower before packing for your best friend's wedding in New York this weekend had turned into another one of your many unplanned romps.
“I should’ve known this would’ve happened if we showered together. Every damn time we say we’ll take a quick shower, I end up with a limp,” you giggle while leaning back into his warm body.
“Can’t keep my hands off of you. You know that,” he whispers into your ear lightly before lightly kissing the marks on your neck.
You playfully roll your eyes as you move forward and walk into Joe’s closet. You weren’t living with him just yet, but by the looks of his closet, you basically were.
You were bringing Joe as your plus 1 to your bestie’s wedding this weekend during the Bengals Bye Week and came over to Joe’s house to pack since he hated packing and needed you to keep him company. You had only been dating for 4 months but were already acting like a married couple according to your friend, and you were starting to see why she said so.
Flashback to a few weeks ago
“So, you’re bringing Joe?” she asked, a little surprised since you’d only been dating for a few months and you never brought a guy to your friends this early, especially since you lived a little far away from them.
“Mhm,” you responded while putting the phone on speaker as you were attempting to find your keys to Joe’s house in his driveway while he was away at practice.
“Already the plus 1? Damn, he has you whipped,” she giggles.
You roll your eyes and say, “Really funny Sophia,”.
“Am I on speaker? Your voice is echoing,” she questions.
“Yeah, I'm trying to find my keys,”.
She stays silent for a second before saying “You’re in his driveway aren’t you,” with a big smile she wished you could see.
“Maaaybee,” you trail.
“God, get married already. You’re always over at his place, just move in Mrs. Burrow,” she teases.
You laugh and say, “That’s because it’s most convenient. You know my apartment is a good half hour away from him. Besides, I thought you liked Joe,”
“Oh, I do, even though I've only met him a few times. I’ve never seen you happier, I'm just surprised you’re actually bringing him,” Sophia says.
“Honestly, me too. But it feels right. And he’s very excited to go with me which makes it even better,” you say as you finally find the keys.
End of flashback
Joe joins you in the closet and watches you pack your stuff for this weekend in your suitcase. Along with your basic necessities, you pack several party dresses, heels, your wedding day look, and a bunch of accessories.
“Damn, I never knew girls needed so much stuff for 3 days,” he laughed.
You turned around and gave him a look that had him immediately retreating.“Not that it’s a bad thing,” he says while raising his hands to soften the blow.
You break out into a laugh and say, “Calm down Joey, I’m jussst kidding,” as you walk over to him and kiss him before moving behind him to grab his suitcase.
“You’re turn,” you say as you drop the bag at his feet.
“I hate packing,” he frowns.
“That’s why I’m here baby. Here to keep ya company,” you smile before sitting in the comfy armchair in the corner.
He lets out a defeated sigh as he begins packing his things and you watch him the entire time. He was doing something so simple as packing but looked incredibly delicious while doing so. His wet hair flopping around, his bare chest on display, and his shorts hanging low on his waist and showing off his blonde treasure trail.
He catches you staring deeply at him and smirks. “Like what you see?”.
“You know I do,” you say as you cross your legs in the chair.
“You know, we coulddd go back to bed,” he offers.
“Nice try Burrow. Packing comes first.”
“Damn,” he whispers. He finishes packing all of his things for the weekend, similar to you. Basic necessities, some nice shirts, pants, and jackets; also packing his wedding day outfit and a few of his favorite shades.
“Always with the shades huh?” You tease.
“If you can bring 20 different kinds of earrings, I can bring my shades,” he deadpans.
“Alright alright, that’s fair,” you say as you get up and walk over to him to inspect his packing, making sure it’s not a complete mess. Satisfied with the way he packed his things, you move your face closer to his ear and whisper, “Now, if you’re done, is that ‘back to bed’ offer still on the table?”.
Joe immediately puts down his bag and reaches for your legs, picking you up bridal style, and rushes you to his bed. He softly drops you against the silk sheets before untying your robe and moving in between your legs.
“I guess that’s a yes,” you giggle and you wrap your arms around his neck, pushing him closer to your lips for a sweet kiss.
“We can’t be too rough though, I’m still a little sore from the shower and we have an early flight to New York tomorrow,”.
He plants another soft kiss on your lips, “No worries babe, soft and gentle is one of my specialties,”. You watch as he kisses down to your core, closing your eyes in anticipation of what is to come.
The next day
The ring of your alarm wakes you up early the next morning. You reach over and turn it off before turning to face Joe, who looks incredibly adorable and still asleep. His head was angled towards you, his messy bedhead hair was sprawled out against the pillow, his soft golden skin looked flawless, his lips curled up in a smile, and his bare chest was littered with a few purple marks from last night on display. He looked absolutely gorgeous at 6:00 am and you were jealous since you probably looked like a hot mess.
You leaned over and kissed the tip of his nose, hoping to wake him up. Lucky for you, it worked.
“Morning sunshine,” you whispered.
He groans, barely opens his eyes, and mumbles “Morning Baby,”.
You felt your core throb at the sound of his morning voice but immediately gave yourself a mental lashing since you were sore from last night and you guys have a flight at 8:00 to NYC. His morning voice and bare chest combo made you weak in the knees so early in the morning.
After laying in bed for 10 minutes to give Joe a chance to fully wake up, you both hit the shower again. This time, actually showering with no funny business. Joe loads up the car to head to the airport but makes a quick pit stop at your favorite coffee shop to grab you both some breakfast.
You guys were on the way to the airport as you were reading off the events and itinerary for the weekend. “Okay, tonight we have the rehearsal dinner and then the party at the club after,” you say as you feel Joe’s hand migrate to your thigh, a familiar spot for it.
“Sounds like fun,” he says while giving it a gentle squeeze.
“Then tomorrow we have the wedding and reception. And then the next day she said she planned a brunch for close friends so it’ll just be a small group of people,” you conclude.
He nods his head as he continues to caress your thigh. “So what do you think of Steven?” You ask Joe. Steven is Sophia’s fiancée and Joe has only met him a handful of times.
“He’s a good guy,” he says. “We actually have a good bit in common and he’s a big football guy,” Joe says, turning the car into the airport entrance.
“He likes the Eagles right?” You question.
“Yup,” he says.
“That tracks, you know Sophia’s a big Eagles fan,”.
“Oh I know, so are you,” Joe says giving you a look.
You look back at him, a little offended, and say, “Aye, slow down buddy. Were. Were an Eagles fan. My loyalty has changed, and I look better in orange anyway,”
“Oh I know,” he smirks, his mind flashing back to all the times he’s seen you in your adorable little gameday outfits. You and Joe had been dating since a bit before the season started and had been getting to know each other throughout the summer. When the first game of the season rolled around, Joe insisted that you come and watch him play. You were a little hesitant at first since you knew that a lot of people would be there, many of whom would notice a random girl in Joe Burrow’s suite, but ultimately said yes because you wanted to support your boyfriend in any way possible.
Your first gameday outfit consisted of a black Bengals-themed baseball jersey which had ‘Burrow’ and ‘9’ on the back and ‘Bengals’ on the front. You left the buttons open and had a white crop top on underneath, with your favorite jean shorts. He loved your first gameday outfit, but the accessories made it even better. You had gotten an iced-out ‘9’ necklace and a vintage Bengals baseball cap you had on backward to pull the look together. You had him drooling the entire day and he couldn’t wait to get you alone, and when he did, you could hardly think or walk straight after.
Flashback to Week 1
You were sitting inside the Burrow suite while the boys were warming up on the field before changing into uniforms. You were scanning the field to hopefully get a glimpse of your boyfriend but couldn’t find him. It's been about an hour since you drove over with his parents and hadn’t gotten a chance to see Joe yet, and you were feeling a little sad because you thought you’d have to wait till the end of the game.
You heard the suite door open as you were trying to find your lipgloss in your bag and thought it was just his parents coming back from their tailgate. You felt a big pair of hands wrap around your waist and a warm mouth press a kiss on your cheek.
You let out a shriek and immediately turned around, panicking because you thought it was some random creep, but it was in fact just your boyfriend.
“Woah Y/N. Calm down, it’s just me,” Joe soothes.
You relax your muscles and let out a sigh, “Whew, I thought some rando creep found their way into the suite,”.
“Nah, just me,” he laughs.
You furrow your brows, slightly confused at what he is doing up here, “Wait, why aren’t you down there?” you say as you point to the field.
“I just had to make sure you were doing okay. I know this is all new for you and I want you to feel as safe and relaxed as possible,”.
Your eyes soften at his response, “Awww that’s so sweet,” you say while wrapping your arms around his neck, a whiff of sweat making you grimace. “Ohhh that lovely football smell,”.
“Sorry about that,” he says while pulling you in for a kiss.
He pulls away after a few seconds, observing your adorable gameday outfit that he was seeing for the first time. His eyes got stuck on the ‘9’ necklace. “And that is how people will know you’re my girl,” he says while touching the necklace.
“Glad you like the fit,” you smile.
“Oh, I love the fit. I could get used to this,” he winks.
“Me too,” you say as your eyes travel around the room, taking in the feeling that this could very well be a constant thing in your life from now on.
Joe looks at the time and his face drops, “I gotta go get ready now,”.
“It’s okay, I’ll be fine Joe,” you say while rubbing the back of his neck.
He lets out a sigh, “Okay, but if you need anything, and I mean anything, ask my parents or come sit down by the locker room if things get overwhelming,”.
“Okayy,”. “Now go back down there before they accuse me of hogging their star QB,” you tease.
“Really funny babe,” he says while pulling you in for a hug. He pulls away before giving your forehead a sweet kiss and walking towards the door to head back to the field. “Knock ‘em dead shiesty,” you yell as he gives you a smile before leaving the suite.
Although you were anxious about being noticed by thousands of people, you were having the time of your life. As time passed, you became more and more engaged in the game, screaming and shouting whenever Joe would throw a dime or a big-time play would happen. You didn’t give a damn about what anyone thought anymore and were not afraid to show people that you were his girl. And Joe noticed. Each time he would look up at the suite, he would see you jumping up and down with his family and looking incredibly focused on him; this was the ultimate motivator for him because he knew his girl was watching.
End of flashback
Joe parked the car in the lot while you got all your stuff together before boarding his private jet to New York.
“Ahh, I can never get tired of this,” you sigh as you slip off your Uggs and lay back onto the cushioned chair. Joe drops down onto the seat across from you and immediately pulls your legs into his lap, massaging your feet.
“You’re so cute,” he mumbles while giving you a warm smile.
You brush your hair out of your face before sending him a flying kiss, “You are even cuter,”.
You both ended up taking a power nap during the short flight to New York and woke up about an hour before you landed. Since you had some time to kill, Joe pulled out his Nintendo Switch and convinced you to play a round of smash-bros with him.
“Noooo,” you whined as you just lost for the 2nd time in a row. Joe let out another laugh as he watched you struggle to digest that you sucked at Smash-Bros.
“You’re laughing now, but once it’s time for Mario Kart, it is game over Burrow,” you growl.
“Maybe, but at least I put up a fight in Mario Kart. You basically gave up halfway,” he laughed as he placed the controller down and grabbed his phone, opening his notes app to add to the win-loss ratio list you had going. You and Joe both had somewhat competitive natures and loved to play silly little games whenever you could, so you suggested you keep a tally of how many times each of you won or lost a game of anything. At the end of the year, the loser has to do whatever the winner wants them to do for a whole day.
“What’s the tally right now?” You asked.
“34-45. I’m winning,” he smirks.
“Damn,” you whisper. “It’s okay. I still have all of this month to get myself back on top,”.
“You can be on top whenever you want, just say the word,” he teases while motioning to his dick.
Your eyes widen at his words as you grab a pillow from behind you and chuck it at his face. “Are you always horny?”.
“Well, when I'm with my drop-dead gorgeous girlfriend, I can’t help it,” he shrugs.
Drop dead gorgeous? You looked like a sack of potatoes right now, wearing one of his old LSU sweatshirts that was too big on you, black sweats, messy hair in a claw clip, and your glasses on. “Joe, I look like a mess right now,” you say as you pull the hood of his sweatshirt over your head.
“Well if you’re a mess, you’re the mess I want,” his face immediately scrunching up. “I don’t think that came out the way I thought it would,”.
You smiled, got up from your chair, and moved over to his lap, pressing a soft kiss on his smooth cheek. “I know what you mean,”.
A few hours later
After your plane lands, you both head over to Joe’s New York penthouse you’ll be staying for the weekend. You both unpack all your things and start to get ready for the night.
You’re finishing up your makeup as you watch Joe walk into the bathroom, seemingly looking for his hairbrush. You look at him up and down in the mirror and he looks incredible. He’s wearing his black jeans, a plain white short-sleeve tee which showed off his bulging muscles, and his navy blue jacket in hand. He walks over to the sink and runs his hands through his hair, like usual, to perfect it.
“Can’t find your brush?” You question while fixing your hair.
“Nah, but it’s fine. This should do it,” he says as he pushes a few stray strands back. He turns around and feels slightly flushed as he looks you up and down. You were wearing a short baby pink dress that hugged your body in all the right places, strappy white heels, and an ensemble of jewelry which was all gifted to you by Joe.
“Baby..” he breathes out, struggling to move from where he was standing. You looked absolutely sexy and he felt like he’d just had the wind knocked out of him, much like how he’d feel when that happened out on the field.
You do a little twirl to show off your outfit, “You think it looks good?”.
“Good?” He says as he walks over to you. “Looks fucking amazing,” he mumbles as he pulls you in for a kiss, one hand cradling your head and the other migrating to your ass. He gives it a delicate squeeze, making you moan into the kiss.
You pull away and press your forehead against his, “We gotta behave tonight Joe,” you giggle.
“Yes ma’am,” he says before giving you another kiss.
You both finish up and then head out to the wedding venue just outside of the city for the dinner. You and Joe walk into the venue, hand in hand, and you’re in awe of how beautifully everything is decorated. The warm fairy lights that were all around the room made everything glow and highlighted the most captivating elements.
You looked ahead and caught a glimpse of Sophia and released yourself from Joe’s grasp, immediately running over to her.
“There’s the bride!” You yell.
Her face instantly lights up as she sees you. She runs to meet you halfway, tackling you in a tight hug. “I misseddd youuu! Cincy stole you away,” she squeals as she sways you back and forth.
Joe walks over behind you both, smiling at the cute interaction.
Sophia opens her eyes and sees Joe standing behind you and lets go of you. “And here is the reason why Cincinnati stole you away,” she teases.
“Guilty,” Joe says while giving her a salute.
“Hey Joe,” she says while giving him a friendly hug.
“Hey Sophia,” he smiles, hugging her back. You have a huge grin on your face as you watch your two favorite people get along, it’s the best feeling in the entire world.
“What are you smiling at?” Sophia questions as she pulls away to wrap her arm around your shoulder.
“Just happy that my favorite people get along,” you sing song.
“Remember, she was mine first Burrow,” Sophia giggles, causing Joe to scoff and gently pull you into him as Sophia’s fiancée walks in behind her.
“Well, I’m incredibly lucky to have her now, and hopefully forever,” he says as he stares lovingly into your eyes. Your heart feels like it’s about to burst at his words, add to the fact that his strong grip on your waist was making you feel butterflies in all the right places. You felt yourself getting lost in his deep blue eyes as you both were just stuck staring at each other.
Sophia smiles at the sweet words that came out of Joe’s mouth for you and notices the way he’s looking at you and holding you. It’s like you were the only person in the room, like you were a diamond. “Aye, snap out of it love-birds,” Sophia claps as her fiancée joins you all.
“Whoops, Sorry about that,” you blush. “Hey Steven!,”.
“Sup, Steven,” Joe says as he lets go of you to greet your friend's Fiancée.
You all have a small reunion and spend a few minutes catching up and talking about wedding details before the other guests start to arrive. The rehearsal dinner was great as you got to catch up with your old friends from home and got the chance to finally introduce Joe formally to some of them.
Currently, You and Joe were sitting together in your own little corner at the table as a few speeches were being delivered, his hand once again on your thigh, and your hands wrapped around his, softly caressing his golden skin. You leaned your head onto his shoulder as you melted into his touch.
“You alright?” He whispers, noticing the change in your body language.
“I’m amazing,” you whisper back.
“Good, we still have a long night ahead of us,” he laughs before planting a few kisses on your forehead.
About an hour later, the wedding party makes its way back into the city to a club in the Upper East Side.
Loud music and bright strobe lights fill the room as you take another shot of tequila at the bar with your friends. Joe was across the room with Steven and the rest of the boys, also taking shots but less frequently than you and the girls. You’re slightly buzzed, maybe a little more than slightly actually.
“Come on, let’s go dance,” Sophia yells as she pulls you into the dance floor.
You and the girls start dancing in the crowd, having the most fun when you hear the song change, which immediately causes you and Sophia to scream.
“This is our song!” She screams. The song had just changed to ‘Blow’ by Kesha, a song that you had very fond memories of in high school.
“Oh yeah,” you yell as you throw your head back and hands in the air.
Joe watches you carefully from across the room as you dance with your friends, looking incredibly stunning and sexy while doing so. The tent in his pants was a sure sign that he was going to struggle for a few minutes. His eyes never leave you as he sips his drink while still talking to the boys.
You keep dancing around with your girls as you feel a pair of eyes watching you. You turn around to where Joe was and obviously, it was him. You give him a playful nod and stare right back at him, still dancing like nothing mattered.
“Damn, Y'all can’t be away from each other even for a little,” Sophia laughs.
“I think I’m torturing him by being out here, especially dressed like this,” you giggle.
“Y’all are soo Down bad,” she yells but you barely notice what she said as you hear the song change again. This time, to one of your and Joe’s favorite songs, ‘Feel So Close’ by Calvin Harris.
You immediately look back at him, motioning him to come over with just a simple look. He smiles at the song change and doesn’t hesitate to get off the barstool, places his drink on the counter, and walks over to the dance floor. You turn around and keep dancing as you suddenly feel a familiar warmth behind you. Joe presses himself into your back as you dance back into him, making his boner even worse than before.
You both were caught up in the moment as the loud music and flashing lights created a special scene around you both. Although you were in a room filled with people, right now it just felt like you two out there, dancing the night away. Joe placed his hands on you and slid them down your waist as you threw your head back into his chest.
You felt the tent in his pants on your ass, causing you to let out a giggle, “Got you worked up, didn’t I?”
“You look amazing,” he whispers into your ear before fully wrapping his arms around your waist, turning you so you could face him. You were a little breathless as you closed the space between you both, capturing his mouth in a deep kiss while your hands wrapped around his neck.
“Let’s get outta here,” he says breathlessly as he pulls away. You nod your head as he lets go of you. You walk over to where Sophia is and let her know that you’re heading out and that you’ll see her tomorrow.
“Me and Joe are going to head out,” you pant. She gives you a smirk and says, “Mhm, called it,”. You’re confused by her words, “Called what?”.
“You both couldn’t even last 2 hours in the club before getting so worked up over each other that you’d have to leave before the party was over,” she giggled.
You felt a little red as she said that. Damn, she was right. You don’t know what it was about Joe that made you act like this or what about you that made him act like this, but you certainly weren’t complaining.
“If you want me to stay, I can,” you say as you brush a few stray pieces of hair out of your face.
“No, it’s alright,” she smiles. “It’s getting pretty late anyways, you guys should go rest,” she says.
“Are you sure?”.
“Positive. He makes you happy Y/N, I can see it. Go have fun, but not too much fun,” she winks.
You pull her in for a hug and tell her that you’d absolutely help her get ready for the big day tomorrow morning.
You make your way back over to Joe, who has moved closer to the exit. He grabbed your hand and placed it in his, “I called Uber, you ready?”.
“Yup,” you say while giving him a kiss.
Both of you were wrapped up together in the backseat of the Uber. Your head once again on his shoulder, and his resting on top of your head. His arm was wrapped around you, and his hand was absentmindedly softly rubbing your arm. Your right leg was wedged in between his as his free hand was rubbing up and down your lower leg. Everything about this was comforting for you both. It felt so peaceful and natural.
Once you’ve arrived at the apartment, Joe helped you out of the Uber since you were a bit too drunk and were wobbling around; he was terrified that you’d fall in the heels you were wearing.
He slowly helped you into the elevator and you moved to stand behind him. He pressed the number of the floor you were supposed to be on and immediately turned back around to face you as the door closed.
He looks into your eyes for a few heartbeats before leaning in and capturing your lips in a delicate kiss which you both grin into. Once again, your hands find their home wrapped around his neck, and you stay like this until the door opens again.
A few minutes later, you both are back inside the apartment and are in the process of getting unready. You feel a gush of wetness pool your core as you catch a glimpse of Joe’s bare chest as he just got out of the shower. He looked so desirable and his bare chest always got you worked up.
You walk over to him, take his hand, and lead him back to the bed. “What are you doing?” He questions.
“What I’ve been wanting to do all night,” you say as you push him back onto the bed, straddling his waist. You capture his lips in a fiery kiss as his hands grip your waist again. You slowly grind on his shorts, making him way more horny than he was before. You push your hand down to his dick and start palming him through his shorts when he suddenly flips you both over so that he’s on top, leaving you a little dizzy.
“Hm?” You question his sudden change of mind.
“You can do that another time, I wanna make you feel good tonight,” he says.
You don’t have a chance to argue with him since he starts to peel off your tank top; his lips finding the sweet spot on your neck, making you flutter your eyes as you let out a whimper.
He moves down and presses a few wet kisses on your belly before getting right to business, sliding off your shorts and underwear.
“Oh,” you moan as you feel him blow on your core which was already wet from earlier.
He lets out a laugh before he moves closer to your core, attacking your folds with sloppy kisses. Your hands find themselves in his hair again as you pull on the strands. “Joe,” you whimper.
“You’re okay,” he whispers as he goes back to lapping at your slick core. He takes one of his fingers and pushes them inside your heat which makes you let out another moan. The combination of his mouth and fingers, along with the alcohol in your system was making you feel like you were levitating. “Fuck,” you whined.
He continued to pump his finger into your core as his mouth attached itself to your clit, rhythmically sucking on it. He inserts another finger, stretching you out even more which causes you to arch your back. His free hand pushes your belly back down to the bed as he continues to attack your core.
“Baby,” you moaned while your eyes rolled to the back of your head. You felt a familiar warmth in your lower belly, signaling that you were very close.
“I’m close,” you whispered, pushing your head further back into the pillow. You continue to pull on his hair which causes him to groan against your core, sending vibrations throughout your body.
His fingers pick up the pace as his mouth is replaced by his thumb. He rubs circles around your clit while continuing to pump into you, which intensifies the entire experience. A few seconds later, you’re cumming hard and fast. “Joe,” you loudly moaned. He removed his fingers from your core and his mouth begins lapping up your juices.
He helps you come down from your high by pressing delicate kisses around your core and inner thighs. After a few minutes, he walks into the bathroom to get a warm washcloth to clean you up. Also, bringing you Advil and water to get ahead of the morning hangover. You’re too drained to move so he cleans you up and wraps a blanket around you while he makes sure everything is locked up. He joins you back in bed and pulls you closer to him, “You comfy?” he asks.
“Mhm,” you say sleepily. He presses one final kiss to your forehead before closing his eyes and drifting off to sleep.
You stay awake for a few moments, thinking about how lucky you were to have someone who cared so much about you and always made sure that you were comfortable. He was perfect for you, and you couldn’t get enough of him. Sure, you two were absolutely insatiable for each other, but you also had a healthy balance between lust and love that kept your relationship steady, strong, and tender.
The next day
The next morning rolls by fairly quickly. You get up early to go over to Sophia’s hotel to help her get ready for the ceremony and leave Joe to get a few more hours of sleep, assuring him that you’ll be back in time to get ready with him.
“Babe, have you seen my watch?” Joe asks as he walks into the bathroom, his mouth agape as he sees your completed wedding look. His eyes travel down your body, the slit in the dress showing off your bare leg; the black material of the dress hugged your body in all the right spots, especially your ass. He felt particularly weak when he saw the v-cut neckline which highlighted your perfectly round breasts.
“I think it was on the entry table,” you say turning to face him as you get your last earring on. Your eyes widen at his completed wedding look; black pants and a silk maroon shirt with his signature shades.
“You look stunning,” he says while keeping absolutely still. His heart was racing at how gorgeous you looked. Even though he got to see your beauty every day, he would still lose his mind every time.
“Right back at ya,” you wink causing him to let out a chuckle.
After putting the finishing touches on your look, you both head over to the venue for the ceremony.
It was a wonderful ceremony. You and Joe were seated towards the front so you had an amazing view of the whole thing. You both were sitting close to each other, his hand in yours. You were struggling to hold back your tears the entire time since you were watching your best friend since elementary school get married, and when Joe looked over and saw, he melted. You were also tearing up at the thought of imagining yourself getting married. You would have all of this one day and you wondered if it would be with the man sitting next to you, you were praying that it would be with the man next to you.
He raised your hands to his lips, pressing a few soft kisses to them to make sure you were okay.
“I love you,” you mouthed to him.
“I love you more,” he mouthed back, not knowing why you were feeling extra emotional all of a sudden.
A few hours later the wedding reception had begun, and you both had found yourself in your own little corner once again. You were absentmindedly rubbing Joe’s thigh while you both were focused on all the wedding speeches, and it was getting him worked up. Once it was time for your speech, Joe had lost it. He watched as you swayed your perfect hips, hips that he loved to grab onto, over to the stage. Your soft skin was glistening in the spotlight and your perfect breasts were mocking him.
“Now’s not the time,” Joe thought to himself as he felt himself getting hard.
You wrapped up your special speech for your bestie with a toast to the newlyweds and made your way back to your boyfriend, who looked like he was struggling to sit comfortably.
“Are you okay?” you giggle. All you get in response is a blank stare.
“What?” you question.
He lets out a sigh and fixes his posture, “You in this damn dress, is driving me fucking insane,” he blurts out.
You stare at him for a few moments, thinking about how funny it was that he was going gaga over you right now, just like how you were drooling at his sexy self. “Well, you in this whole look is making me insanely horny,” you whisper into his ear.
He clears his throat as a way to compose himself. He thinks about if anyone would notice if you both stepped away for a few minutes. “There’s a bathroom around the corner,” he whispers.
Your eyes widen at his offer. You both rarely had sex in public places like this, usually finding pleasure in your home, car, or anywhere private. But right now, you honestly could care less.
As the wedding reception raged on outside, You and Joe sneaked away to the bathroom for a moment alone. The room was dimly lit, the soft glow of the candles casting a warm and intimate atmosphere.
Your eyes locked, filled with desire and longing. Without saying a word, Joe closed the distance between your lips, capturing them in a hungry kiss. Your bodies pressed together, his hands roaming freely over your plush skin.
You moaned softly as Joe lifted you up onto the countertop, his hands sliding up your dress to caress the smooth skin of your thighs. You push your hands into his curls as his lips travel down your neck, causing you to let out a moan. “Yeah,” you whimper.
Your clothes were quickly discarded, leaving you both naked and exposed to each other. You push your lips against him again as you reach down and slide your hand up and down his dick. You guide it to your core and leave the rest to him. You moaned in ecstasy as he buried himself deep inside you.
Your head falls back against the mirror as your legs hook around his waist. “Shit,” you moan as Joe moves his face into the crook of your neck, pressing wet kisses along your collarbone. His steady pace was doing wonders but you needed him to go deeper and faster.
“Joe,” you whimpered, causing him to move his face back into your view. “Fuck me harder,”.
“Are you sure?”.
“Yeah,” you moaned.
He smiles and captures your lips in a sloppy kiss as he quickens his pace, rapidly thrusting into your slick core. The sounds of skin slapping skin filled the bathroom as you were drowning in pleasure. “Harder,” you whimpered. The sounds coming out of your mouth were driving Joe insane as he thrusted deeper and deeper into your pussy, completely forgetting you were in a public bathroom.
“Y/N,” he groaned as he gripped your waist tighter, surely leaving a few bruises.
“Fuck Joe,” you moaned, this time a little louder. Each thrust sends you further back into the mirror and your lower half becomes slicker and slicker by the second. “You feel so good,” you whisper.
Joe smiles as he plunges into you harder and harder each time. You felt a familiar sensation build in your belly as he pounded into your heat, “I’m so close,” you whispered.
“Fuck, me too,” he moans as he reaches down and starts to rub circles around your wet clit. You whimper at the sudden contact, eventually setting off your release. Your walls clench around his cock as you let out a series of pornographic moans into his ear.
He continues to pound into you, harder than before, trying to reach his own pleasure. You whimper at his movements and your hands start to scratch up and down his bare back.
“Y/N..” he moaned.
“Mm,” you whined. A few seconds later, you felt his release coat your walls. You both were trying to catch your breaths and regain your senses for a few moments before Joe slid out of you. He cleans you up first and helps you put your clothes back on. Then, you clean him up and help him fix his outfit just like he did for you. You look into the mirror while fixing your hair and smile at how well fucked-out you look, and look back over to your boyfriend, also looking well fucked.
Before leaving the bathroom, he pulls you in for a hug, whispering a few sweet nothings into your ear and telling you how amazing you were.
“You have no idea what you do to me,” he whispered, causing you to smile against his chest and hug him tighter.
You walk back into the reception with a slight limp, pretending as nothing happened, and tell Joe you are going over to Sophia for a bit. Joe nodded and said he’d be grabbing you both something to eat.
You walk over to her table and slide into the chair next to her, flashing her a giddy smile.
“How does it feel to be a Wifey,” you questioned.
She laughs, “Very Fun,” while looking over at you. She looks carefully at you, noticing your smudged lipgloss and slightly messy hair. Your radiant smile and limp told her everything she needed to know.
“Looks like you had a little bit of your own fun,” she winks. “I saw that limp,”. Your face immediately turns red at the fact that she figured it out. How could she not? This girl has known you longer than anyone, of course she could tell when something was up, good or bad.
You heave a sigh, “I don’t know what about him makes me so-,” you pause as you can’t find the right word to finish the sentence.
“Down Bad?” Your friend says.
You stay silent for a few seconds, “Yeah. Down Bad.” You smile as you look over at your boyfriend who was currently balancing two plates of food in his hand for you both.
“I see the way he looks at you, you know. It’s like you’re the only person in the room for him,” she says. “He looks at you like you are the most valuable diamond,”.
You blush while you think about the countless times you’d find Joe deeply staring at you whenever you were talking. “Yeah, he does do that doesn’t he,”.
“And I also see the way you look at him,” she adds.
“What do you mean, how do I look at him?”.
“Well other than looking like you want to pounce on him every 5 minutes,” she giggles. “You look at him like he’s the one,”.
You are surprised by what she says. The one? You’d only been officially dating for 4 months, was he really the one? He made you feel things that you haven’t felt in forever and even things you’d never felt before. He made you feel seen and he made you feel loved. You were so lucky to have found something special with him, but was he going to be the one? Did he even want you to be the one?
“Sophia, we’ve been dating for 4 months,” you nervously laugh.
“And?” She questions. “I know it’s early, but I’ve seen you look happier with Joe in the past few months than I saw you with your ex who you were with for 3 years. He really really really loves you and I can tell that you feel the same way”.
“He’s the one, Y/N. Trust me, I can feel it,” she adds as you look back over at Joe, who flashes you a warm smile, setting off butterflies in your stomach.
“Yeah,” you say softly. Maybe he was the one. God, you wanted him to be the one.
You hear her let out a loud laugh, “See what I mean! Even across the room, look at you two!”.
You turn over and playfully push her arm. “Y’all are sooo down bad for each other,” she teases. You break out into a fit of laughter as you spend a few more moments talking to her about the wedding and the brunch tomorrow before getting up and joining your boyfriend once again.
“What was that about?” He questions.
“Ohhh nothing,” you say. The playful tone in your voice makes Joe slightly suspicious but he decides not to question it. Festive music fills the room as you both sit and eat your delicious meals while watching all the couples fill the dance floor.
Joe hears the song change from upbeat to slow; “Can’t Help Falling In Love,” playing softly in the background. This song was another song that was special for you both.
He meets your eyes before standing up. You were confused at why he was getting up since you were both comfy the way you were sitting now, and you both certainly were not about to dance. Joe never danced in public as the only time he would slow-dance with you was in private. You didn’t mind though, it felt more natural and intimate that way. The song currently playing was one of your favorites to dance to.
He extends his hand out and says, “Y/N, would you like to dance with me?”.
You feel like he’s messing with you so you don’t say anything for a few seconds, but he remains in the same position so he means business.
“I would love to dance with you,” you say as he grabs his hand and leads you to the dance floor.
His hands wrap around your waist as yours hang from his neck, and your warm bodies find themselves pressed together once again.
“You look gorgeous,” he says quietly while swaying you to the beat of the song.
You blush, “You’ve told me that like 50 times today,”.
“And I’ll do it 50 more,” he says while raising his brows.
“Only you could be so romantic not even an hour after rearranging my guts,” you whisper as he pulls you closer, if that was even humanly possible.
“You just have this effect on me Y/N,” he says. “Got me feeling down bad every minute of every day,”.
Your heart skips a beat at his words. “Have you been talking to Sophia?” you question.
“I mean, Yeah, it is her wedding,” he says while shrugging his shoulders.
“No, I mean about us?” you ask.
“A little, but not anything in particular. Is something wrong?” he says, his face turning solemn.
“No, No. Nothings wrong. It’s just she’s been going on the entire weekend about how down bad we are for each other,” you giggle, his grip on your waist becoming tighter.
“To be fair, she isn’t wrong. You make me do things and feel things that I never knew I could be capable of,” he says, once again staring deeply into your soft eyes. Your heart beating so incredibly fast as it felt like it was just you two dancing on the floor.
“Joe,” you whisper, your face moving closer to his.
“I’m so lucky to have you Y/N. You have no idea,” he says before pulling you in for a sweet kiss.
Your lips fit perfectly against his as you stay like that for a few seconds before breaking away, “I can’t help falling in love with you,” you say, reciting the lyrics of the song playing while you two are dancing.
“I love you, so fucking much. If this is what they call down bad, then fuck yes I’m down bad for the love of my life,” he says.
A huge grin appears on your face, “Love of your life?” you question.
“Mhm,” he says as he pushes your head into his chest. “Take this as a preview of what our first dance will be like at our wedding,” he says. “Same song and everything,”.
You feel tears pool in your eyes as you look back up at him, “Really? You wanna marry me?”.
He smiles and says, “Down the road, absolutely. You are exactly what I’ve been waiting for in my life. If you think I’m gonna let that go, maybe I need to do a better job of showing it”.
Your heart felt like it was about to explode. He wanted to be the one just as much as you did.
“If you were to do more to show your love than you already did, I think I would drop dead,” you tease.
“Hey, that is not funny,” he deadpans.
“Oops, Sorry Mr. Serious,” you say as you kiss his cheek.
“Well, for future reference, I like princess cut,” you smile, causing him to break his serious expression and let out a hearty laugh. Your head finding its way back to his chest as you continued dancing.
The world around them faded away, leaving only the two of them entwined in a dance that seemed to last for eternity. The room was alive with laughter and chatter, but to them, it was as if they were the only ones in the world.
As the song came to an end, they held each other closer, never wanting to let go. The warmth of their love enveloped them, filling their hearts with a sense of pure bliss and contentment.
And in that magical moment, as they whispered sweet nothings into each other's ears, they knew that their love would always be the music that guided them through life's dance, forever intertwined and inseparable.

The Burrow home was warm, dimly lit, and smelled of tomato sauce. Joe and Y/N's three year old twins, Hudson and Elijah, were sprawled out on their living room rug, scribbling away in their new Paw Patrol coloring books. Y/N was washing a few more dishes as she waited for the garlic bread in the oven, and Joe was setting the table as he usually did to help his wife. He had just placed the twins' booster seats on their plush dining chairs as the oven began to beep — indicating that it was time for him to rush to the kitchen, so he could get the bread out of the oven before Y/N. He entered the kitchen just in time, seeing his wife bent over sliding an oven mitt on her hand.
"No, ma'am." He spoke, placing his right hand on the small of her back. "I'll do it."
Y/N straightened her back, smiling at the blonde man as she slid the oven mitt off of her hand. "I'm perfectly capable of grabbing a pan of breadsticks, honey." She said, earning a small chuckle from her husband.
"I know, mama." He took the oven mitt from her, moving it onto his much larger hand. "I just wanna make sure you don't strain yourself too much." The volume of his voice descended as he bent over, and quickly opened the oven before removing the fresh breadsticks from it. Y/N couldn't help but blush from how considerate her husband was, how he always had been. He was the exact same level of protective when she was pregnant with Hudson and Elijah, only he was much more anxious because they were the first pregnancy.
"I'll fix all of our plates." He placed the pan on the counter, throwing the oven mitt to the side. "You go grab the monsters. The food'll be on the table when you get back." He finished, placing a quick kiss to her forehead before she turned and exited the kitchen.
Waddling into the dimly lit living room, she slowly crouched down to her children's level. "Hi, mama." Hudson chirped. "Hey, mommy!" Elijah cheesed, both of them looking up from their coloring books for the first time in over ten minutes.
"Hey, champs." She ran a hand over their unruly blonde curls, "Are you guys hungry? Daddy is getting your favorite ready."
Their little blue eyes immediately widened in excitement, lifting up from their stomachs to their feet. "Sketti?" He showed his bright teeth as he looked at his mother, Elijah put a hand on his head, looking up at the ceiling with a groan.
"Ugh! We always have sketti, guys!" Y/N giggled at Hudson's excitement and Elijah's annoyance before nodding her head. "Yeah. Sorry, buddy. Sketti is really good and easy for mommy to make." Elijah crossed his arms over his chest with a smirk, giving his mother a knowing look.
"We have to clean up our mess before we eat, though. Okay?" Y/N said, her boys seemingly standing at attention now.
They nodded their heads. "Yes, ma'am!" They chirped, plopping down to their knees. Hudson grabbed their coloring books and neatly stacked them on the table, while Elijah quickly threw their crayons into a large pencil box. He closed the lid before Hudson threw their coloring books on top, grabbing it and sliding it on the table next to their long couch. "All done!" Y/N smiled brightly at her boys, feeling her heart swell with joy knowing how well her and Joe had been raising their boys.
She took her time to rise to her feet, being mindful of her big belly. Once she stood up straight, her boys reached out for her hand and began leading her into the dining room. Joe's face lit up seeing his favorite people, the twins released their mother's hand before running to their father's side instead. "Hey, dudes!" Joe smiled, placing the final plate down on the table and engulfing his sons into a tight hug. "You guys ready to eat?"
Y/N smiled as the boys vigorously nodded their heads. Joe placed them in their booster seats one at a time, where they immediately picked up their small forks and shoveled noodles into their mouths. Joe pulled his wife's chair out as usual, rubbing her shoulder gently once she sat down. "Thank you." She said, placing her napkin on her thigh.
The dining room was consumed by the quiet. The only noise being the scraping of forks on the plates, and the exaggerated slurping sound from the twins eating their dinner. Dinner always went this way, the first few minutes are quiet, then once Y/N starts slowly becoming full she breaks the silence. She finished chewing her garlic bread, wiping her mouth with her napkin before placing it down on the table. Her eyes sparked with enthusiasm, "Guess what, honey? The boys and I were thinking of coming to your game this weekend!"
Joe with a mouthful of spaghetti noodles, glanced over at their lively toddlers, and couldn't help but feel a wave of concern. "You sure about that, babe? The game can get pretty chaotic, especially with the boys being so energetic, and, well, you being pregnant." He said, his tone laced with concern as he spoke.
His wife only smiled, her eyes reflecting her determination. "I know it might be a lot, but they love watching you play, and I want them to experience that excitement. Plus, the baby can hear the crowd cheering, right?" She suggested. She was right, if they went, it would be her and the twins' first game in a while due to her pregnancy's waves of sickness. She had been feeling great all week, and had been itching to see Joe in action on the field.
Joe sighed as he placed his fork down, torn between wanting his family there and worrying about their well-being. "I just don't want it to be too much for you." He looked at his wife, "The stadium can get pretty loud, and the boys are two big bundles of energy."
Look, Y/N was pregnant, almost a week past her five month mark. Her belly wasn't huge, but it most definitely wasn't little either. She had been sick for most of the pregnancy so far, and sometimes between the pain it was fairly easy for her to become aggravated. Joe was very understanding in those times, and was always sweet to her no matter her attitude. She closed her eyes for a moment, taking a deep breath. "I appreciate your concern, Joe, but we can handle it."
Hudson, completely oblivious to the conversation, was busy playing with his food. While Elijah was occasionally mimicking the cheers of a football crowd. As the dinner conversation continued, Joe could sense Y/N's irritation slowly rising even though she was doing pretty well at containing it. "I don't know, babe. Can I just think about it a bit more?" He asked genuinely, looking toward his wife with brooding eyes.
She forced a small smile as she huffed out her nose, "Yeah, sure." She replied, standing from her seat and gathering her plate and silverware. "I think I'm gonna take a bubble bath. Can you put the boys to bed?"
Joe nodded, eyeing his wife's body language as she walked into the kitchen to put her dishes away. She came back into the dining room, placing a kiss on Hudson and Elijah's tomato splattered cheeks before making her way up the stairs. She didn't look at Joe again, letting him know that she truly was irritated with him now and he would have to smooth things over before bed.
He looked toward his twins with a smile, "You full?"
Y/N took her time in the bathtub. She felt guilty about leaving dinner abruptly, but she knew Joe would come around, even if it took just a little bit of time. Although she didn't feel up for a conversation right now, she wished Joe would come upstairs already because she hated being upset with him. That was really the only downside of her pregnancy, she was always so emotional and found herself getting irritated with her husband much easier. She finally decided to step out of the bathtub, grabbing a towel and wrapping it around her body.
Joe figured Y/N wanted to be alone for a bit longer, so once he had the boys sound asleep in their race car shaped beds, he went back downstairs and cleaned up the mess left behind by dinner. Y/N had just slipped out of the bathroom, when Joe quietly shut the door to their shared bedroom. He almost winced as he watched his wife walk right past him, grabbing some clothes before going back into their bathroom.
He sat down at the foot of their bed, thinking about how he should approach his wife on the soft topic. Once he had an idea, he untucked their sheets, set his alarms and turned on their bedside lamp. Trading his sweater and jeans for a pair of sweatpants, he made his way over to the bathroom door. He hesitated for a moment, before lifting his hand to softly knock on the door. "Y/N, can I come in, please?"
He heard a faint response, slowly opening the door to find his wife standing at the sink, applying a lotion to her under eyes. He took a moment to examine her features, a look of frustration and hurt was on her face. "I didn't mean to upset you and I'm sorry if it came across in the wrong way." Joe began, his voice filled with remorse. "I just worry about you guys at the game."
Y/N turned to face Joe, seeing the look of guilt and worry on his face. "I know, I just feel like you don't want us there or something." She tried to hush the last part of her sentence, but Joe heard her loud and clear. He could tell by the way her bottom lip began to puff out, she was slowly getting closer to a breakdown. He instantly brought his hands to her cheeks, running his thumbs over her under eyes. "I thought we were supposed to share these moments as a f—family." She stuttered, and her vision blurred from the tears that began to burn her eyes. Her pregnancy was effecting her emotions more than ever right now, and that alone was irritating her more than Joe.
"That's the last thing that I want." Joe said, "I'm just really worried, that's all." Y/N nodded her head, feeling a wave of defeat wash over her body. She nodded her head slowly, as she reached up to remove Joe's hands from her face. "Okay, honey."
Joe felt so guilty, hesitated before he decided to speak up again. He reached Y/N's hand before she could grab the door knob, "Hold up, you gotta let me finish." He said, causing his wife to look up at him with tired eyes. "Maybe it's just my nerves talking. I want you and the boys there more than anything. You just gotta promise me you'll take it easy, okay? Don't go all wifey-bear if I get sacked and scream so loud you lose your voice." Her eyes instantly lit up, she stood up straight to adjust her slouching shoulders.
"You know I can't promise that, Joey." She joked, a smile tugging at the corner of her lips. "I won't do too much screaming, I don't wanna scare my boys just yet." Joe could see how her mood had already changed, a warm smile of his own forming on his face.
"I'll bring them some ear protection, and I'll even keep your parents on speed dial if I need anything." She reassured his worries, a wave of relief washing over his features as he swept a few stray curls from her forehead. He rested his hand on her cheek, looking into her eyes lovingly. "Okay, mama." He whispered, licking his lips as his eyes grazed over her whole face.
Y/N noticed the way he wet his bottom lip, "Just gonna keep starin' at me, or are you gonna kiss me?" She teased, looking up at her much taller husband. Joe didn't think twice before placing a soft kiss to his wife's lips, pulling away much quicker than she wanted him to. He peeled back with a smirk, leaning over her shoulder to open to bathroom door. "Let's get some sleep."
He helped her into their large bed, throwing the blankets over her, she instantly pulled them up to her chin. Joe made his way to his respective side of the bed, sliding in the sheets beside his wife, who mindlessly scooted closer to him and laid her head on his chest. "I'm sorry for blowing that whole thing out of proportion." She apologized, tracing shapes onto her husband's chest.
Joe shook his head, rubbing circles on her shoulder. "You have nothing to apologize for, Y/N. Just because you're pregnant, doesn't mean you can't make your own decisions. I failed to recognize that. I'm sorry, baby." Joe apologized right back, causing his wife to look up at him with a remorseful expression on her face.
"It's alright, Joey. I get that you were just worried." She responded, moving her ring clad hand to his cheek, rubbing the stubble that he knew she loved so much. "I promise you, Hudson and Elijah are gonna have so much fun, it'll all be so worth it." Joe smiled warmly, thinking of the smile that will never leave their faces once they're at the game. It's not like it would be their first game, it'll just be their first one since their mom found out she was pregnant with their younger sibling.
"I know." Joe replied, watching as his wife's eyes clearly began to get heavier to hold open. He grabbed her hand from his cheek, moving it to his lips before kissing her palm. "Goodnight, mama. I love you."
"Goodnight, Joey. I love you more."
The stadium buzzed with anticipation as the Bengals star quarterback prepared for the upcoming game. A subtle layer of worry masked his usual game-day focus, even after the conversations he'd had with his wife a few nights before. His five month pregnant wife, Y/N, and their wildly energetic three year old boys, Hudson and Elijah, were attending the game tonight.
Joe paced nervously around the locker room, glancing at his phone for any updates. The last time Y/N had texted him was the let him know they were getting snacks first, seeing as she didn't want to be up and around much during the game. He couldn't shake the concern about any potential challenges of having his family amidst the excitement of a football game.
"Everything okay, Joe?" Tee Higgins inquired, noticing the furrowed brow. He chewed a piece of bubblegum harshly, cocking his head to the side to look at his quarterback.
"Yeah, just a bit worried. Y/N's pregnant and the boys can be quite the handful. I want them to enjoy the game, but it's chaotic out there." Joe admitted.
His teammate, understanding the delicate balance between family and the intensity of the game, offered a reassuring nod. "They'll be fine. Your family is strong, just like you, man."
Just then, their coach gathered all their attention and Joe quickly thanked Tee for his understanding before grabbing his helmet.
As game time approached, Joe couldn't help but steal glances at the stands. When he spotted Y/N, her baby bump noticeable, with Hudson and Elijah, wide-eyed with excitement, a mix of anxiety and joy flooded their emotions. They both wore some ear protection that looked like it could weigh their head down if they leaned to one side, he smiled seeing his wife's hand raise in the air to give him an excited wave.
Y/N watched the whole game on the edge of her seat, occasionally standing up despite her best efforts to stay seated — trying her best to follow Joe's safety requests. Hudson's smile never fell, he was screaming louder than anyone in their section for his father. Elijah clapped in excitement, looking over at his mother and pointing to his father every three or so minutes. They had been to a few games before, but they were a little older and had a better understanding of the sport. They were already talking about playing it once they started school next year.
Y/N clapped her hands loudly as halftime finally approached, she knew Joe would be over there soon. Not even ten minutes later, her blue eyed husband was standing in front of them on the sidelines. "Hey, you guys okay?" he greeted, a touch of concern in his eyes.
"We're doing great, honey. And so are you." Y/N smiled, reaching her hand down to touch Joe's. Joe smiled widely, relieved to know that his family was enjoying themselves. Hudson and Elijah, both bouncing with enthusiasm, chimed in, "Daddy, did you see us? We waved at you!"
Joe's worry melted into a grin. "I saw, guys!" He reached up high to touch both of his son's heads. "That's awesome. Just make sure you're having fun, okay? And both of you be good for mama!"
Due to his coach's demands, Joe had to jog to the locker room after their interaction. Y/N, Hudson and Elijah waved him goodbye and took their seats until the second half.
As the game progressed, Joe felt a newfound motivation fueled by the presence of his family. Y/N, attuned to his emotions, whispered words of encouragement, both calming and inspiring. Meanwhile, Hudson and Elijah's cheers echoed through the stadium, each one a source of pride for his quarterback father. The Bengals came out on top, the game ending with a touchdown made by a pass from Joe. After the game, Y/N grabbed all of their belongings and both of her sons hands, being careful as they went up and down steps. They stood outside the locker room as she'd done since her and Joe began dating in college, both her and her boys bouncing with anticipation for the man to come out to them.
Once he emerged from the locker room, he swung his bag to his back, took Hudson onto his hip and hugged his wife with one arm around her neck. Y/N held Elijah on her hip as well. "You guys made this win even sweeter. Thanks for being here." he said, genuine gratitude in his eyes.
Y/N hugged him tightly, "We wouldn't miss it for the world. We're your biggest fans, no matter the chaos." She raised a hand to rank through his blonde hair, tears prickling in her eyes. They weren't tears of sadness or fear, just tears of pure happiness.
As they left the stadium, the Burrow family walked hand in hand, the worries of the game day transformed into a cherished memory. In that moment, Joe realized that having his wife and sons by his side added a layer of joy and support that went beyond the triumphs on the field. They were a team, weathering the excitement and challenges together, creating a bond that extended far beyond the football game.

Your Hands
Summary: Joe’s hands are one of your many weaknesses. He is your weakness in only the best ways possible.
Warnings: ✨smut✨ and a little bit of fluff of course
You were craving attention, you were craving attention from your man, a specific kind of attention, but any kind would do for now.
Joe was in the office, working away at lord knows what. Probably rewatching highlights, videos from OTAs, etc. So you open the slightly cracked door and he was watching his Mac screen with an apple pen in his hand.
Joe looks up at you and a small smile graces his face.
“Hey you” he says before writing something down onto his iPad before looking back up at you.
“Hey” you smile back.
“You okay? Do you need help with anything?” He asks, lovingly.
“No, just, wanting to be near you” you say softly and he smiles at you and motions you to come in. You go and sit down in the chair in front of his desk and prop your feet up onto it.
He reaches across the desk and squeezes your ankle before going back to what he was doing which was exactly what you thought, watching videos from practice and writing down things he needs to work on.
You watch his hands as he writes on his iPad and when he twirls the pen between his fingers as he watches film. The way his fingers moved with ease and the way his veins in his hand danced every time he moved his fingers. You squeezed your thighs together, thinking about those fingers touching you, teasing you, inside you. He was turning you on and not even really doing anything, he was always good at that.
You get up from the chair and walk around the desk to him, turning his chair slightly towards you and you take your place on his lap and wrapping your arm around his shoulders. He chuckles up at you and wraps his arm around your waist, squeezing you and placing a kiss on your cheek.
“I think you want to be inside my skin” he smirks at you and you shrug your shoulders.
“Something like that” you wink and run yours fingers through his hair and press a kiss to his pretty lips.
He continues watching his screen and he rests his hand on your thigh, massaging your soft skin, as yours danced on the back of his neck.
It was normal for him to touch you like this, just out of habit, but little did he know you were getting worked up watching those damn hands move.
You weren’t as slick as you thought you were when it came to keeping how you were feeling hidden away. Joe could easily read your emotions, especially after being together as long as you two have, he knew how you were feeling before you even knew.
He felt you shift in his lap, the muscles in your thighs tightening from squeezing them together. He listened to your breathing and how it would keep ramping up along with your heart rate. He smirked to himself, knowing something has got you worked up, that you wanted to be near him but not in the innocent way he thought.
He paused his video and looked up at you, his bright blue eyes getting darker by the second.
“You okay? Do you need help with anything?” He repeats what he asked earlier but his voice now low and dark.
“Um, no, I’m good” you smile at him as best you can, the look in his eyes making your thoughts worse.
“I think you’re lying” his hand slides inbetween your thighs, but keeping his distance from the place you really wanted his hands to be.
“Joe-“
“Want to tell me what’s got you so worked up?” He leans in so his lips are brushing yours, feeling his breath on your face. God, he’s so hot.
“So I can give you what you want? What you need? Hm?” He slides his hand slightly higher up your thigh.
“Your hands” you breathe out, trying not to moan.
“Hm” he smiles smugly, squeezing your thigh with one of them.
“They always seem to be on your mind” he smirks, picking you up and setting you on top of the desk, shoving his iPad and other things out of the way.
His hands rest on your thighs, squeezing them as he presses a slow kiss to your lips.
“You are always on my mind” you admit against his lips.
“And you on mine”
He cups your cheeks and smashes his lips against yours, you couldn’t help but moan into his mouth at the contact. One of his hands slide down your abdomen and ghosts over your clothed core. You groan, wanting him to touch you. He slips his tongue into your mouth as his hand finally makes contact with your center, rubbing gentle circles over your clothed clit. You moan loudly, twirling your tongue around his and bucking your hips against his hand.
“Lift up” he orders against your lips.
You lift up your hips as he pulls your shorts down, pleased when only your shorts were between him and her.
“Love when you do that shit” he smirks, throwing your shorts on the floor.
“I know” you smirk and he raises his eyebrows at you. He looks down at you, dripping onto the desk.
“Damn baby, care if I have a taste?” He asks and you nod, giving permission.
Joe grabs your hips and scoots you more to the edge of the desk, making you squeal.
“I’ve got you” he assures you, getting down onto one of his knees, spreading your thighs apart, opening you up and leaving nothing to hide. Joe looks up at you and smiles.
“You are fucking gorgeous” he tells you and your heart swells, along with the need for him.
He places your feet on his shoulders and kisses the inside of your thighs before licking a slow stripe from your entrance to your clit. Your eyes roll to the back of your head as you hiss at the blinding pleasure.
“Taste so good, babe” he moans against you, making your hips buck at the vibrations.
He flicks his tongue against your clit making you become a moaning mess above him. He then slips his tongue into your entrance.
“Oh shit” you whimper, your mouth falling open as he continues to thrust his tongue into you.
“Oh Joe, I’m gonna cum” you whine.
He then slips his tongue out of you, despite your protest, and presses a kiss to your clit before standing up and pressing his lips to yours again. His tongue meeting yours, moaning when you taste yourself. That’s some hot shit.
“As much as I love to make you cum with my tongue, you had a specific request that I want to make sure I follow through with” he smirks before slipping one of his thick fingers into you without warning.
“Ohhh fuck” you groan. Joe rests his forehead against yours and smiles.
“You’re so tight, babe” Joe couldn’t help but moan.
He slips a second finger into you and you gasp. He pumps his fingers in and out of you, trying to slowly build you back up.
“Want a third one?” He asks against your lips and you answer with a whimper.
He slides a third finger into you, your mouth falling open. You look down at his hand, with his fingers sliding in and out of you.
“Oh fuuuuuckkkk, Joe”
The way his arm flexed, the way the veins in his arms moved as he thrusted his fingers into you made you hot all over.
Joe started to curl his fingers inside of you, pressing into the soft tissue that made the pleasure even more intense, causing you to lose the strength to hold yourself up anymore. Joe catches you and holds your body against him.
“Joe I-“
“Cum all over my fingers, baby” he whispers into your mouth.
When he feels you clinch around his fingers, he kisses you roughly but full of passion and love. He rubs his palm against your clit and that did it for you. You scream into his mouth and you release all over his hand and onto the desk below you.
“That’s it baby” Joe pulls away, talking you down after your intense orgasm, and looks down between you two, his hand drenched in your juices.
“You are so hot” he smiles. He lifts his hand up to his mouth and sucks two of his fingers into his mouth, cleaning your essence off of them. You try to catch your breath as you watch him.
Damn it, Joe. You’re getting me hot again. You think to yourself.
He brings his index finger up to your lips. You immediately take his thick digit into your mouth, swirling your tongue around it. He watches you intently, his blue eyes watching your lips, your eyes as you look up at him through your lashes.
“I am so in love with you” he breathes out.
“And I you” you smile, kissing his ski-slope nose.
He jogs out of the room, only to come back with a warm wash cloth, gently cleaning you up, along with the desk.
“Thank you, for that” you sigh, finally catching your breath.
“Always gotta help my girl out” he winks.
You look down at his shorts, the tent in his pants looking unbearable.
“Now I think you need some help” you hop off the desk, your legs shaking and almost giving out on you, Joe, of course, being there to catch you in his strong arms.
“Let me take care of this for you” you look into his pretty eyes, your hand cupping him through his shorts.
“I won’t say no to that” he smiles.
You push him down into the desk chair and on your knees to worship his beautiful chiseled body you went, as it should be worshipped.

If You Let Me, Part One
A/N: My first Joe fic! This series is based off the song "If You Let Me" by Sinead Harnett, one of my favorite songs. Really excited to post this and I hope you enjoy!
Warnings: angst, kissing, mentions of alcohol and drunkenness
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
You pulled your coat tighter across your body as you crossed the street toward the church. It had just started to snow, uncharacteristically early for Cincinnati in November, a light dusting of flurries coating the stones as you ran up the steps.
You wish you could say being late to your brother’s wedding rehearsal was out of character for you, but you’d be lying. You had a habit of showing up fashionably (or what your mother would call embarrassingly) late to family events, partially because you couldn’t stand to be around your parents for too long without a drink in your hand, and partially because it meant a decreased chance that you’d run into Joe. He was your brother’s best friend, troublemakers attached at the hip since they could walk, so your mom invited him to every dinner, birthday party, and holiday. Thank goodness his football schedule made it difficult to say yes to any of the invitations, or you probably wouldn’t have seen your family at all this year. It wasn't a surprise that Joe was going to be your brother's best man, but it did mean you'd been dreading this weekend for the past year.
You could admit you were dragging your feet getting ready this morning, but your tardiness today, truly wasn’t your fault. On the 15-minute ride from your apartment to the church downtown, you managed to hit every red light and get stuck behind a freight train. Even on the walk from the parking lot, all of the contents of your purse spilled onto the pavement, and you lost your shoe crossing the street.
If you didn’t know any better, you’d think it was divine intervention.
As you walked into the church, you realized it was karma.
There he stood, leaning against the door that led to the main hall, his phone in his hand. His blonde hair was shorter than the last time you’d seen him, the tan he got from being on the football field six days a week a nice contrast to his bright blue eyes. He looked nervous, uneasy, his left leg jiggling as he looked around the room before glancing back down to his phone as if he was anticipating someone's arrival, and when he made eye contact with you, he looked downright sick to his stomach.
“Hi”, the word came out as a squeak. Joe straightened up, pulling at the sleeve of his tan suit jacket. The bride, your future sister-in-law, Tiffany, insisted that the entire wedding party be in coordinating colors, tan for the groomsmen, teal for the bridesmaids. You were wearing a simple black shift dress that had been hiding in the back of your closet because you turned down your invitation to be part of the wedding party, much to your mother’s chagrin.
“You’re going to be the only member of our family not part of the wedding”, she chastised you over the phone when Tiffany told her you would be enjoying the wedding from the second row of guest seating. “How do you think this is going to make me look in front of my friends?” You realized that it did look odd that you weren’t participating in your only brother’s wedding in some capacity, but you knew the only way you were going to make it through this wedding was by clinging to the bar and staying as far away as you could from Joe Burrow.
“Um, hey.” He cleared his throat as he slipped his phone into his back pocket. You could cut the tension with a dull butter knife, that’s how little regard he had for you now.
The last time the two of you had even been in the same room together was your family’s annual Christmas Eve party, three years ago. You had just broken up with your boyfriend of eight good, long years, the man you thought you were going to marry and have a family with, after he admitted to cheating on you with some random girl he met at a bar, and you were more than drunk off of a few martinis to try to ease the pain. You stumbled, literally, across Joe on the balcony, who had stepped outside to get some fresh air and get away from the terrible Christmas karaoke.
“You are not drunk enough tonight, Mr. Burrow.” You shakily held out the bottle of champagne you had stollen from the kitchen. Joe took the mostly empty bottle from you with a grin, placing it on the ground. “I think you’re drunk enough for the both of us", he grabbed you just as you tripped over your own feet, holding you up with one of his hands, Ok, I gotcha.”
“If you can’t get stupid drunk while your mom inappropriately sings “Santa Baby” to a room of your family and friends, when can you drink?” You gestured back into the house, watching your mother scandalously shaking her hips as the instrumental blared over the speakers. You got your sense of humor and your low alcohol tolerance from her. You gripped the railing of the balcony to steady yourself, accidentally landing atop Joe’s hand. His skin felt hot and smooth, and for the second you made eye contact with him, his gaze falling from your eyes to your lips, you were pretty sure you were willing to do something stupid tonight to forget about your broken heart.
Your relationship with Joe had always been, well, nonexistent. Growing up, he and your brother were a year ahead of you in school, and they mostly wanted nothing to do with you; teenagers could be cruel, so the only time you saw Joe was in passing in the hallway between classes or when he came to your house to hang out. He was always nice to you, but in a “I have to be nice to you or my mom will kill me” kind of way. You were pretty sure he didn’t see you as anything more as an obnoxious little sister.
“So, how’s school going?” Joe quickly pulled his hand away, crossing his arms over his chest. You took a deep breath, feeling yourself quickly sober up. “School is well, school.” You punctuated your sentence with a hiccup. The last thing you wanted to talk about was how terribly you were doing in college, and how your goal of getting into law school next year was quickly becoming a pipe dream. “School, you?”, Joe’s brow furrowed at your question as you slurred your words, “I mean, how’s school going for you?” He nodded, flashing you his perfect, pearly whites. “School’s good, football’s going well. Scouts are telling me I’m probably going first round.” He looked down at the ground, studying his sneakers like they were the most fascinating thing he’d seen all night.
“That’s amazing! Congrats!” You would later blame it on your inebriation, but not thinking, you threw your arms sloppily around Joe’s shoulders, his hands catching you low at the waist. “Uh, I-“, your mouth was dangerously close to his, and you were sure he could smell the vodka on your breath, but when you tried to pull away, he wouldn’t let you go, keeping you tightly pulled into his chest. You let yourself fall into his hold as the two of you brushed noses, Joe gently kissing at your bottom lip to test the waters. You’d be lying if you said the thought never crossed your mind, you had always had a crush on Joe, but it was also a line you thought you’d never cross. Any other night there would have been no question, but tonight, you were hurting, and Joe was your only source of comfort.
You grab his face with both hands, pulling him down to better meet you, your lips pressed together so hard, not a breath could escape. Joe’s large frame towered over yours as you both fought for dominance in the kiss, Joe’s tongue jutting in between your lips. You felt a warmth pool in your stomach as Joe’s hands roamed your body carelessly, eventually moving to cup your ass, gently lifting you and forcing you to stand on your toes to keep up. You were glad the heat from inside the house had fogged up the windows, preventing anyone from seeing the two of you.
“Joe, stop.” You mumbled against his mouth, trying to push him away at the chest, making him eventually break away even though it was the last thing he wanted to do. You saw the puffs of white in the air leaving his mouth as his chest heaved with each breath, his cheeks a rosy pink, lips swollen and red.
“What?” It was more like a plea than a question, his warm hand cupping your cheek as he looked at you. “What’s wrong?” You pressed your forehead against his, his arms still wrapped around you; he didn’t dare to let you go. You played with the necklace around your neck, twisting the diamond stone between your fingers. You were still wearing the necklace that your boyfriend had given you, even though the two of you were broken up. As much as you wish you were, you still weren’t over your relationship, and it wasn’t fair to either of you to lead Joe on.
“We really shouldn’t be doing this. You’re my brother’s best friend.” You closed your eyes, each breath you took in reminding you of just how good Joe smelled. Your head was spinning, and not because of the drinks you’d had all evening.
“I’ve always cared about you. I know we’ve never been here before”, you knew he meant the kiss, “but that doesn’t mean I didn’t want it to happen.” Joe was pouring his heart out to you, and you were still hung up on the guy who cheated. You wanted him, more than anything, but it felt like you were trading one heartbreak for another, whether it came now, or further down the road. There was no way this ended well.
Seeing your wheels turning, Joe leaned in again to lock lips, and you let him kiss you, but he could feel you hesitate. You stepped back, and the look on his face was enough to make your stomach turn. “I’m sorry, Joe. I really am.” You pulled the screen door open with what little strength you had left and left him out on the balcony.
You knew it was inevitable, fate would force you to come face to face with Joe eventually, but you were really wishing it wasn’t going to be today of all days. You knew he’d be here, of course, but you were hoping you’d could sneak in after rehearsals had already started and be out before anyone saw you. You were sure he could hear your heart beating with how quiet it was in the vestibule.
“Joe, I really want to apo-“, you gripped the strap of your handbag, the leather twisting against the skin in your palm. He couldn’t make eye contact with you, or didn’t want to, as he pushed away from the door he was leaning against. “Let’s just get through today”, he edged out, letting out a sharp breath as he began to walk away from you.
“There you are!” Your mother came rushing toward the two of you, the click of her heels echoing through the hall. “Joe, you look so handsome. I was just telling your mother how proud we are of you.” She gently patted his forearm, and Joe gave her a small smile.
“And you, it’s a good thing you’re here, actually.” She immediately began to straighten out your dress and licked her thumb to wipe away mascara that settled in the creases of your under eye. “Thanks, mom, and here I thought I was going to be an inconvenience.” She rolled her eyes, as she always did at one of your quips. “Stop being dramatic, hun. One of the bridesmaids is sick with food poisoning, so we need you to step in for her. Today and during the wedding. Her dress should fit you, might be a little tight.” She sized you up, undoubtedly noticing the couple of pounds you’d put on while studying non-stop for the LSAT. “You’ll walk with Joe actually.”
You could hear the groan rumbling in Joe’s chest from where you stood. “Mom, I don’t think that’s a good idea”, you muttered under your breath, but she immediately waived you off. “God forbid you actually do something to support this family. Is it really too much to ask for you to get your head out of the books for a minute and be a part of the biggest day of your brother’s life?” You sighed, pinching the bridge of your nose as you felt an oncoming headache. “Of course, mom. I’d be happy to be a bridesmaid.”
“Perfect! Tiffany will be thrilled.” She clapped her hands together, leaving the two of you in her dust as she hustled back to the wedding party.
“Joe, I really think that we should talk.” You were waving your white flag at him, hoping he would let his guard down long enough so you could properly apologize.
“We have nothing to talk about”, he bit back at you, and you staggered, not expecting his harsh tone. “I think it’d be better for the both of us if we keep the talking to a minimum.” He ran his hands through his hair, and for the first time you saw how truly hurt he was by what happened that night, three years ago. He left you standing in the entrance before you could get out another word.
The universe really had a cruel sense of humor.

Baby’s First Thanksgiving || Joe Burrow x reader
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
•pairing: Joe Burrow x reader
•summary: It’s Josie’s first Thanksgiving!
•warnings: a baby and pure fluff<3
“Look at your little bow peanut, you look so pretty, yes you do!”
You smiled to yourself as you stood in the doorway of your daughter’s nursery, listening to her sweet baby giggles as you watched Joe coo down at her as he got her dressed.
“She says you look just like me,” Joe picked his daughter up, smiling at her as he spoke, “but I think you look beautiful like your mommy Josie girl.”
Your heart swelled at your husbands sweet words. You decided to make your presence known, walking into your daughter’s room and grinning as you spoke.
“I don’t know, I think she looks just like her daddy.”
The sound of your voice made Joe take his attention away from his six month old daughter and to you instead. His smile widened, making his eyes crinkle up at the corners in a way you always loved. You walked further into the room, standing behind Joe and waving at your smiling baby girl.
“How long have you been eavesdropping on Josie and I?” Joe asked with a smirk as he brought Josie into his arms. You shrugged, your smile turning into a smirk to match Joe’s. “Long enough.” your smirk turned back into a smile as you reached your arms out to take your daughter from Joe’s arms.
“Hi Josie girl!” You beamed as soon as your daughter was in your arms, “You look so cute.”
“Say thanks mommy,” Joe spoke in a higher octave, making it seem like Josie was the one speaking, “Daddy picked out my outfit.”
You eyed Joe as you replied, “Well daddy did a great job.” You kissed Josie’s chubby cheeks, making the baby girl giggle happily as she flashed you and Joe a wide, gummy smile. Her sweet giggles never failed to put a smile on yours and Joe’s faces.
“Are you so excited for your first Thanksgiving? Try some sweet potatoes, rolls, turkey—.”
“And ham.”
You chuckled as Joe cut in.
“And ham.” You added, tickling your daughter’s sides and making her giggle once again. Joe smiled at you two as he wrapped his arm around your waist, pulling you into his side.
“Are my girls ready to go?”
You nodded, bouncing your daughter on your hip slightly, “Say yes daddy, we’re ready when you are.”
Joe leaned down and pressed a kiss to the top of yours and Josie’s head, making both of you smile. Your little family was full of so much love that only grew more and more each day.
Once you made sure you had Josie’s diaper bag all packed up, the three of you left your house and headed over to Joe’s parents for Thanksgiving dinner.
~time skip~
“Here Josie girl,” you grabbed a half a spoonful of your sweet potato’s and brought them up to your baby’s girls little lips, “you wanna try some?”
She opened her mouth like a little bird, eating the sweet potatoes off the spoon. You and Joe watched with smiles on your faces as she smacked her lips and babbled happily.
“Do you like them peanut?” Joe asked, chuckling as Josie leaned forward to take more from the spoon you were holding. “Mmm,” you hummed, your daughter making the same sound as you. “Yeah?” You asked, cooing sweetly at your daughter, “yummy huh?”
Joe’s parents watched from across the table with wide grins as you and Joe introduced their granddaughter to some of her first solid foods.
You picked up a piece of turkey from your plate, tearing off a small piece and holding it out for Josie. She took it from your hand with her chubby fingers and shoved it into mouth. As soon as the turkey hit her tongue, her face turned into a look of disgust as she slowly chewed. She spit the turkey out and whined slightly.
You chuckled as you looked over at Joe, “She really is your little twin Joe.” Joe smiled and reached out to rub his thumb across Josie’s cheek, swiping away some of her drool.
“It’s OK baby girl,” he cooed at his daughter, “daddy doesn’t like turkey either.”
Joe took his hand away from her mouth and grabbed a small piece of ham from his plate. He brought the meat up to her lips, the two of you watching cautiously as Josie hesitantly took the ham from her father’s finger. Josie’s face instantly lit up as she started chewing the ham.
“You like it Josie?” Joe asked, smiling at his daughter as she clapped her hands.
“I’m taking that as a yes.” Robin spoke up, a smile on her face too.
Joe chuckled at his moms comment and tore off another small piece of ham, giving it to Josie who gladly accepted it. “She really is just like me, huh?” he asked, glancing at you with a smirk.
“I told you she was,” you replied, “she looks like you, acts like you, and now she hates turkey like you do, too.”

Pairing: Joe Burrow x fem first person
Words: 4601
Notes: I kind of combined this fic with another request: Is there any way you’d be able to write a second part of them just bonding with Noa and the team meeting Noa?
I would be lying if I said bringing a newborn home from the hospital was easy, because it’s not. It has been the most amazing thing bonding with her and watching Joe become a dad to our precious little girl, but it’s exhausting as well. Most nights, Joe and I only get a few hours of sleep because if I’m not feeding her, one of us is changing her diaper or walking the halls with her to try and calm her down when she starts to cry. On the plus side, it’s already been a week since we brought our little Noa home and none of us are dead yet, so there’s that…although sometimes it feels like I might when she wakes us up.
I walked down the steps very carefully, clinging onto the staircase as I focused on every single step. My body was starting to feel so much better, but those few days after giving birth were the worst and it hurt so much to stand up, so I was still walking around like I would break any second, and Joe was too. Whenever I would stand up, he wouldn’t take his eyes off of me, and he usually was right by my side when I walked up and down the stairs. Typical Joe.
Joe was easy on the eyes but even more beautiful on the inside. To say that he has been absolutely amazing would be the understatement of the century. During feedings, he’s right there with me, making sure that if I’m not sleeping, he’s not sleeping. Everything has been a lot easier because of him and I make sure to thank him everyday for it.
Once I got downstairs, I yawned while walking over to the couch. As soon as Joe heard me, he looked up at me with those gorgeous blue eyes and that amazing pearly white smile. “Hey baby, how are you feeling?” Joe asked me. I laughed a little bit and walked past him and gently sat down on the couch next to him. “Tired.” I said and looked down at little Noa as she slept soundly in his arms. She was absolutely perfect. She had the most amazing blue eyes, just like Joe and the cutest nose in the entire world that looked exactly like Joe’s. She was like his spitting image.
Joe chuckled a little bit and kissed the top of my head. “I know, but isn’t this amazing? We have a family.” Joe said and rested his head on top of mine. Gently, I put my hand on Noa’s tiny foot and started stroking it gently. I felt like I always wanted to be near her, or at least see her at all times. It was like I was connected to her still and felt empty when she wasn’t with me. It was such a weird yet beautiful feeling.
“This is everything I always wanted. I love our little family.” I said. I could feel Joe shaking his head that was resting on mind. “Can you imagine when our little tiger can come to my games next season? I’m going to be the luckiest man in that entire stadium with my beautiful wife and daughter up in that suite.” He said. Our little tiger. As soon as Joe found out I was pregnant and because we didn’t know if it was a boy or girl yet, he started calling her his or our little tiger. It made my heart skip a beat every time I heard it because it was so special. It reminded me of the day I told him I was pregnant and that he was going to be a dad. Now I got to watch him be a dad, and it was amazing.
“Or when she’s old enough to realize that it’s her daddy that’s on the field? I can just see her now pointing at you and asking if that’s her daddy.” I said, smiling down at her as I imagined taking Noa into the stadium when she is old enough to know that her dad is the one playing in the game. I could tell Joe was smiling from ear to ear from above me while imagining what that would be like. To be on that field knowing that his wife and daughter were up there cheering for him. It made me excited just thinking about it.
While we sat there and talked about how perfect our little tiger was and how it felt to be new parents, she started to wiggle in joes arms and fuss a little. Immediately I knew that was her ‘I’m hungry’ fuss. I never believed Robin when she told me that I would be able to understand what she wanted or why she was crying until l started to be able to tell a few days ago. It’s crazy, but she was right. If there’s one thing to know about Robin, is that 99.9% of the time, she’s right.
A week later, the lack of sleep was really catching up on me, but we were getting by without fighting, thankfully. I walked downstairs after getting dressed and found Joe sitting on the couch again, holding Noa who was crying. I knew she was hungry, so I pulled my shirt and bra down a little bit as I made my way over to them. Today was supposed to be the day that some of the team was coming over to see her for the first time, and Joe was super excited.
From the very start of the pregnancy, he always told me how excited he was to show the team his son or daughter, especially Ja’marr and Sam since they’ve known Joe for a long time. Today, only Ja’marr, Sam, Tee, and ted were coming over to see her for the first time.
Once I reached Joe, I grabbed her from his arms and started bouncing her slightly in my arms. As soon as she felt me, she latched right on and stopped fussing. I let out a big sigh and closed my eyes while rocking her in my arms. “Are you okay down here if I go upstairs and get ready real quick?” Joe asked me while he gently hugged me. He grabbed the back of my head and placed a kiss on my lips and then kissed my forehead. “Yes, Joe. I’m not completely incompetent just because I gave birth.” I kind of snapped at him a little bit. Joe looked down at me with a worried look in his eyes, but I walked away and to the couch, not in the mood to talk right now.
“Hey, hey, talk to me, baby.” Joe said and started to follow after me. I sat down on the couch and looked down at Noa who was looking right up at me while she drank. Seeing her all scrunched up with those bright blue eyes looking up at me made me feel so complete. “There’s nothing to talk about. Just go and get ready.” I said. I began to yawn again and shook my head after, trying to wake myself up more. Unlike Joe, I had a hard time going straight to bed after I was woken up by Noa’s cries. Joe and I were opposites when it came to sleeping. While I was a deep sleeper, he woke up at any noise he heard. While I took a little bit of time to go to bed, Joe was out within seconds, which means I haven’t been getting as much sleep as him.
Joe kneeled down in front of me and put his hands on my thighs. “It’s not good to keep things bottled up, I know that better than anyone.” Joe said, looking up at me with those same eyes as Noa. “I said I’m fine.” I said. I really didn’t know why I was snapping at him. I wasn’t mad at him. If anything, I loved him even more than I did when we weren’t parents, and I didn’t think that was possible. “You need to get more sleep tonight.” Joe said and reached up to tuck a strand of hair that fell in front of my face behind my ear. “More sleep? What does that mean? Can you not stand to look at your ugly wife with bags under her eyes?” I snapped at joe again. My brain was so foggy and I was so irritable. I hated feeling this way. I hated being mad at him.
“I didn’t mean that and you know it.” Joe said and was about to open his mouth to say something else but I talked over him. “Just go get ready, Joe.” I said and looked away from him quickly and to Noa who now had her eyes closed. I guess she was a heavy sleeper like me.
With a defeated sigh, Joe stood up and started walking away from me. I listened to his footsteps as he walked up the stairs and then shut the bedroom door. As I sat there in my thoughts, I couldn’t stop the tears from streaming down my face. I was so stressed and sleep deprived that I was taking it out on a joe and I felt terrible about it. While he was being an amazing husband and doing everything humanly possible to make things easier on me, I was being so incredibly rude. He didn’t deserve that.
After a few minutes, Noa stopped drinking and fell completely asleep in my arms. While still crying, I stood up from the couch slowly and started making my way to the stairs. The whole time, I made sure not to make any sudden moves because I didn’t want to wake her. All I wanted to do was go upstairs and apologize to Joe for being an absolute dick to him.
When I got upstairs, I walked over to the bedroom door and opened it up. After I swung it open, I heard the faucet running from inside the bathroom, so I walked over and set Noa down in her bassinet that was right next to the bed. Sniffling a little, I turned around as the water was turned off and saw Joe who was walking over to me. Joe scanned my face and after reading my expression and seeing the tears in my eyes, wrapped me in his arms. I began to cry into Joe’s chest while we both held each other so tightly. “I’m so, so sorry, Joe. I don’t know why I’m so angry.” I said. “Shhh, shhh. Look at me baby. Look at me.” Joe said. I leaned back from Joe and looked up at him as he led us over to the bed. Both of us sat down on it, still holding each other.
I kept sniffling over and over again and wiping my tears. Hell, I didn’t even know why I was crying so much. “When I told you you needed more sleep, that wasn’t me trying to be a dick. I also wasn’t saying that because I thought you looked ugly, because that’s impossible.” Joe said and cupped the side of my face. I melted into his touch and nodded up at him. “I said that because I love you and care about you, and I only want what’s best for you. So, instead of me waking you up all the time like you wanted, I’ll let you sleep more often and I’ll deal with Noa unless she wants to be breastfed instead of bottle fed, or unless she just wants her gorgeous momma.” Joe said.
“Are you sure?” I asked him. Joe reached up and wiped off a tear that streamed down my cheek. “I’m a million percent sure.” Joe said. I nodded and leaned forwards, giving him a quick kiss. Joe was literally the best husband ever. There are so many days where I ask myself how I got so lucky, and this was definitely one of those days. When our lips separated, we kept our foreheads together. “I love you so much, Joey.” I said. “I love you so incredibly much.” Joe said.
From in the bassinet, Noa started to fuss a little bit. It wasn’t one of her hungry fusses, it was her lonely and bored type of fuss. Joe leaned back from me so I could reach over and grab her, and when I did, I carefully placed her on the bed in front of us for some tummy time. Joe and I both laid on our stomachs in front of her, propped up on our elbows while watching her. The both of us kept laughing at the little grunts she kept making as she looked at the both of us. “You’re so perfect little Noa.” Joe said and chuckled while he gave her nose the smallest boop. I let out another yawn while watching her. Just as Joe was about to say something to me after seeing me yawn, Noa started to strain and then I heard that delightful sound of her diaper being filled up.
From the sound of it, Joe and I both covered our mouths a little bit and laughed, knowing this would be a rough one to clean up. Because Joe changed her diaper last time, I started to get up from where I was at on the bed, but Joe shook his head and scooped up Noa. “I’ll go and change her diaper, why don’t you take a nap?” Joe said and stood up from the bed. “It’s fine,” I swung my legs over the bed and planted my feet on the ground, “she’ll need to be fed soon anyways.” I smiled up at him, but Joe stood in front of me so I couldn’t stand up.
“You have pumped so much that there’s a supply to last a few months and she’s going to pass out soon anyways, so take a nap. We’ll be fine, won’t we Noa. Yeah we will.” Joe told Noa and started to rock her in his arms. I glared up at him, feeling like I shouldn’t take a nap, but I couldn’t help but smile at how adorable he was with her. A nap did sound amazing right now. “Okay, but the team’s gunna be here soon.” I said. “I’m going to text them and tell them today isn’t a good day. We can have them over when you’re not being a dick.” Joe joked with me. We both laughed a little bit, knowing it was true although he was joking. “Fine, but if you need me or if she won’t stop crying, wake me up.” I said.
With a smile, Joe bent down some so I could see Noa before I took a nap. “I will. Say goodnight to mommy little tiger.” Joe said in that cute baby voice. I giggled a little bit and stroked my hand gently across the top of her head, feeling her soft hair. “I love you, Noa.” I told her and then looked up at Joe. “I love you, Joey.” I said. Joe looked down at me and kissed my lips. “I love you more.” He said and slowly started to back away. After they disappeared down the hall, I scooted underneath of the blankets and as soon as my head hit the pillow, which was unlike me, I fell right asleep.
After I finally started to get more sleep and take naps when Noa took naps, I started to feel a million times better. I wasn’t as irritable any more and I actually was having so much fun bonding with her. Because I was feeling better, the day finally came for some of Joe’s teammates to meet Noa. Although we planned on having Ja’marr, Sam, Tee, and Ted over for a little bit so they could meet her, we ultimately decided to only have Ja’marr and Sam over for now and introduce her to the team at an Easter get together that we were going to hold. We figured that since we still have a month until people meet her, we can grow into ourselves as parents more and soak in these few weeks of privacy and calmness before a ton of people came over to see her.
“Hey Jordyn, have you seen any of my LSU sweatshirts?” Joe asked me. He was in our walk in closet and I could hear him looking through all of his sweatshirts to find them. I sucked in my lips a little bit and looked down to my chest to see the giant LSU letters on it that I changed into to wear for today. While Joe was wearing the other matching one earlier, Noa decided to surprise him with a little bit of throw up. After I looked down at my chest, I looked at Noa in my arms who was yawning. “Oopsie.” I laughed a little bit. Joe, hearing me, walked out of the closet and began to chuckle when he saw what I was wearing.
“Do you want me to change? I’ll put on one of my LSU sweatshirts instead of yours.” I said. Joe just shook his head and leaned back into the closet quickly, snagging out a bengals sweatshirt. “That’s okay, it looks better on you anyways.” Joe said with a wink when he started walking over to me. Once he reached me, he placed a small kiss on my lips and then stripped off his shirt so he could slip on his sweatshirt. I sucked in a small breath at the sight of his bare chest and couldn’t help but stare. In between my legs started to ache a little bit so I crossed them slightly. From the corner of Joe’s eye, he could see my slightly flustered state and began to flex his arm muscles.
With a scoff, I slapped his arm. Joe and I both started laughing at how unserious he was. I was flustered though. Let’s just say it’s been a few week’s since I’ve had sex and when I see Joe looking extra good, all I can thinking about is sex. Like literally, all I can think about is sex. The bad news, we haven’t had the time to actually have sex, which has been hard.
All of a sudden, I heard someone knocking on the door from downstairs and a smile flashed on my face. “They’re here, let’s go Joe Shiesty.” I giggled a little bit as began to walk out of the bedroom. “Are you ready to meet your half uncles? They may scare you at first, especially Sam since he’s a d-linemen, but he’s like a marshmallow inside, so don’t worry.” I said and kissed the top of her head.
Joe followed after me after slipping on his sweatshirt and as soon as I started walking down the stairs, he put his arm around my back and put the other on my arm, making sure I didn’t fall with Noa in my arms. “Joey…thank you so much, But I know how to walk down the stairs.” I laughed a little bit at how concerned he was whenever I walked down the stairs. “I know, I know. But what if you slip or twist your ankle and fall?” He said. I looked up at him quickly and squinted at him. “When have I ever slipped or twisted my ankle while going up or down the stairs?” I asked him, waiting for an answer. “Last year before you were pregnant and hung out with Karissa.” He said with a ‘hmph,’ feeling triumphant that he had an answer to my question.
“Joe, I was drunk…that doesn’t count.” The both of us laughed a little bit as Joe said, “touché.” There aren’t many times where I get absolutely hammered, but that was definitely one of those times. Me and and my best friend Karissa went to her house to catch up after she got back from a 2 week vacation and one thing led to another, and one drink led to another, and the both of us go so disgustingly drunk that when Joe had to come and pick me up and drive me back home, I may have thrown up in his new car…but that’s besides the point.
I stood back from the door and Joe opened it up. As soon as he did, I couldn’t help but smile as I laid my eyes on Ja’marr and Sam who were waiting patiently for us to answer the door. The last time I saw them was the day of the Super Bowl, and now they each have their first ever Super Bowl rings. Joe dabbed the both of them up and then invited them inside. Ja’marr stepped in first and looked at me and then little Noa who was wide awake, meaning she’d want to eat soon. “Oh my goodness look at her. She looks just like Joey B.” Ja’marr said, covering his mouth with his hand slightly. After he looked at her and ran his fingers over her arm, he looked up at me.
“Hey Jordyn, how are you?” He asked me and carefully hugged me. “I’m doing a lot better now that I learned to actually take a nap when she does.” I laughed a little bit and hugged him, making sure not to move Noa around. “Good, good. Damn. I can’t believe this. Ya’ll are parents.” Ja’marr said and stepped to the side so Sam could see her. “Wow, now those are some long legs. She’s gunna be a D1 player when she grows up.” Sam chuckled and gave me a small hug. “Hey jordyn.” He said. “Hey Sam. It’s good to see you.” I smiled up at him.
We made our way to the living room where we all sat down so they could hold her. When I tell you I was a little nervous to give her up, I was telling the truth. So far only Karissa, my parents, and Joe’s parents have held her, and even then I was nervous for them to hold her. Every time someone held her other than me or Joe, something in me told me they were going to drop her and all I wanted to do was snatch her from them and hide her. Being a mom was a damn weird feeling.
I sat down on the other couch to the side of ja’marr and Sam and who sat on the same one. Before Joe sat down, he gently scooped up Noa from my arms after making sure I was okay to part with her and walked over to Ja’marr who was closer to him. “She’s so tiny dude.” Ja’marr said with a big smile on his face as Joe placed her in his arm. When she was in his arms, I couldn’t help but smile. Even though they weren’t related by blood, the team was still her family, especially Sam and Ja’marr.
Once Ja’marr got her in his arms, he started to look a little nervous and looked like he forgot how to hold a newborn. “Pretend she’s a football. Hold her just like a football.” Joe reminded him. It looked like something clicked in Ja’marrs head as he slowly readjusted Noa in his arms so he was holding her the right way. “You have a kid Ja’marr, how did you forgot how to hold a newborn?” I asked him with a little laughed and folded my legs underneath of myself while watching Noa who was looking up at Ja’marr. At first she looked a little scared, but after a few seconds she just accepted it.
“Yeah, well, he ain’t no newborn anymore. I forgot.” Ja’marr said. We all laughed a little bit. While he held her, I noticed that he kept smiling down at her and her little features. Her beautiful blue eyes. Her perfect little nose. Those wonderful rosy cheeks. Her tiny lips. Everything about her was perfect and it made my heart soar with emotion just thinking about them and how other people are loving them just as much as me.
Once Ja’marr and Sam both held Noa, Joe handed her back to me and she fell asleep right away. Laughter and chatter filled the room as we all talked together about anything and everything. For a while most of the conversations were about the Super Bowl and how amazing it was to win it, so I took that time to go upstairs and feed her real quick. It felt amazing to talk with people other than just Joe on a daily basis. Don’t get me wrong, I love Joe so incredibly much and don’t know what I would do without him, but it’s nice to talk with other people too.
After a little while, I started to get hungry, so everyone followed me into the kitchen so we could resume our conversation. Before I got to the kitchen, I grabbed the baby wrap and wrapped it around myself and placed her inside of it so she could sleep comfortably on my chest without me having to hold her. In the kitchen, the boys all gathered around the island counter while I grabbed some crackers and cheese from inside of the pantry and fridge. Before I walked to the counter, I asked the boys if they wanted anything and they all said no. “Why’d you cancel on us the other day. All I got was a short, ‘sorry, gunna have to plan another day for you to come over.‘” Ja’marr said.
I turned to look at Joe and started laughing. Joe just gave me a shrug. “What kind of text is that Joe? That’s about the same text I sent you 10 years ago. Luckily you wouldn’t take no for an answer.” I said. It was true, that’s about the same text I sent Joe about 10 years ago when I was on the fence about going on a date with him. Let’s just say i’m extremely happy Joe was extra persistent. “Wow…are you breaking up?” Sam asked Joe and Ja’marr with a little gasp and We all started laughing at Sam’s joke.
I popped a cracker in my mouth after putting a piece of cheese on it and shook my head. “Don’t worry, that would never happen,” I laughed, “I may have been a little sleep deprived and snapped at Joe when I thought he called me ugly.” I said. “Y’know Joey B would never call his girl ugly. You should hear the way he talks about you in the locker room. ‘She’s so beautiful, I love her with all my heart, she’s the best thing to ever happen to me.’” Ja’marr laughed when Joe slapped his arm, not liking that little interpretation of himself. “What did you even say?” Sam asked Joe.
“I told her that she should get more sleep since she’s been exhausted and I wanted what’s best for her, and she took that as a, ‘I don’t want a wife whose ugly and has eye bags,’ she was validated though, having a newborn is exhausting. But jordyn has been amazing.” Joe said and smiled down at me. My face flushed red from the small compliment and I shook my head, trying to get it to go away so nobody saw. “Well I’m glad everything’s going good now. I can’t wait till she’s old enough to run around the facility with us.” Sam said, looking at her as she was curled up against my chest.
While Joe couldn’t take his eyes off of Noa who was sleeping, I noticed ja’marr looking right at Joe. “Dude, she’s got you wrapped around her little finger already.” Ja’marr chuckled a little bit. Joe nodded and let out a sigh. “If that ain’t the damn truth, I don’t know what is.” Joe said and looked up at me with that perfect smile.

Chapter 5
After you and Joe had come close to being caught in his locker room, both of you decided it was best to make a swift exit plan that let you both make it to the parking lot unscathed and unsuspecting. You departed first, quickly turning the corner and leaving the hallway with your bag slung over your shoulder. Joe had in fact kept your panties, taunting you for a minute and motioning for you to attempt to grab them from him. Spooked by the disturbance, you only told him that he now owes you two pairs.
Joe left a few minutes after you, taking a completely different hallway out of the facility and practically bouncing on the balls of his feet. He asked to see you before you’d split, so the fact that he knew he was going to follow you back to your apartment had seemingly put a bit of pep in his step. You watched him cross the large parking lot, waving at you and smiling in a way that left you shaking your head and laughing. He must have changed clothes before he walked out, adorning a pair of shorts and a black jacket overtop his white hoodie.
The drive was quiet, save for the few times Joe would purposefully begin to ride the ass of your car or honk like you had done something wrong. Funny, you bit back some amusement as you let the horn blare right back at him. He was unlike any guy you had been with in that aspect, his humor was genuine and never had anything to do with making you feel bad about yourself or to poke fun. His jokes never cut deep, which was rare in your few relationships thus far.
Joe parked beside you in your unit’s garage. His Porsche most definitely stood out amongst the line of cars, sleek and spotless as if he had just taken it through the car wash. Everything about him was so clean and prim and proper, it intimidated you now more than ever. A sudden feeling of insecurity washed over you, wondering if he was silently judging you and your life. You couldn’t help gazing down at the steering wheel, thinking endlessly about how much Joe really possessed in athleticism, riches, and looks compared to your ex-boyfriends.
Suddenly his knuckle wrapped against your window, “You got mac ‘n’ cheese up there? Tell me that doesn’t sound so good right now.”
You couldn’t help laughing at him, his so-casual words through the window that you rolled down. He leaned into your car, arms folded so his chin rested on them as he perched and tilted his head to the side. He looked inside of your car now, having never seen it. His legs were so long, you noted once again as you breathed another chuckle at his stature. He merely shook his head, waiting for a response about the food.
“I think I have the little Kraft cups. I might have some of the normal boxes, it might be Velvetta, though,” you watched as he gave you an eyeroll.
“You think one of those cups is gonna sustain me? I’m insulted,” he placed a hand on his heart and finally pulled his head out of the car. He opened the car door for you, motioning for you to step out with an outstretched hand for your bag. “I was practically inhaling those things at eight. You can’t seriously be full off one.”
“Excuse me, Joe. Not all of us are..” you spoke with booming amusement and sarcasm, prepared to give a dramatic reenactment as you approached the elevator. “The one, the only Joe Burrow! Heartthrob NFL quarterback, generous philanthropist, sexiest–”
“Ah okay, I see. Someone’s got jokes,” he interrupted, smiling ear to ear. “Please, don’t stop on my accord. What about me is so sexy?”
As you crossed the threshold and began upward in the elevator, you gave him a teasing smirk and noticed just how pink his cheeks had gotten at your comments. He was still holding your bag, bouncing up and down on his heels and occasionally glancing sidelong at you while you went up. The ride was a comfortable silence, simply peering at each other when the other was not looking in a sort of high school fashion.
Joe discarded his coat as he entered your freshly unlocked apartment, murmuring something about how he was sweating. You watched him curiously, tidying up and discarding some of the random things you and the girls had strewn around the apartment. He hadn’t ever been inside, he’d only picked you up when you went out for drinks. He definitely had no intention of masking his curiosity, he walked along the walls of your living room and noted each photo and piece of decor. He picked up a frame on the TV stand, it was a moment captured on film from your study abroad trip in Australia. His eyes scanned the photograph where you and Sydney were perched on pink beach towels, smiling drunkenly and wearing floppy hats for shade.
“What’s your life like?” He asked you, not a hint of hesitation in his question. “I know you’re a cheerleader, I know you’re going to school to become a teacher. What about all the other stuff, though?”
You paused and hummed, “I feel like my life might bore in comparison to yours.”
“I highly doubt that, but tell me anyway.”
“I grew up in a pretty rural area in Massachusetts. I have an older brother, his name is Jack. My parents have been divorced for a few years, but they stuck it out until I moved out. For better or for worse,” you told him without maintaining much eye contact. “I’m really not trying to dump all of my childhood trauma on you, I promise.”
“Y/N, what are you talking about? I asked,” Joe said, reassuring you and noting how you fiddled with the strings of the knit throw blanket. “I want to know, I really do.”
His expression was genuine, his eyes serious and fixated solely on you. He had discarded his car keys and phone on a nearby countertop, giving you his full attention as you inhaled deeper and thought seriously about what you wished to tell him. He felt unreal, like something you had dreamed up and manifested into your living room. A part of you thought you should pinch yourself and look again, sure that he would have disappeared into thin air. No, you forced yourself out of the thought and made yourself see that he was just as real and tangible as you are.
“We grew up pretty poor, for a while we were a one income household living off food stamps and just getting by. It was rough, those years especially, but we managed and eventually my mom and dad were able to save. They got into real estate later on and then opened a store, I’m grateful for all of it. I worked hard in school to help with scholarships and stuff so they wouldn’t be totally responsible for putting me through college,” the words flowed without much thought and he nodded, listening intently. “They weren’t happy. I knew it long before anyone mentioned divorce, but I was still pretty wrecked. I’m grateful, though. They gave me a great work ethic, you know just watching them build a better life for our family. I wouldn’t even live here without their help.”
“I can tell you’re a hard worker,” he was assessing you in your entirety. “Are you close with them? Your family, I mean.”
You stilled for a moment, thinking intently about the question. Joe was sitting across from you, elbows braced on his knees as he leaned into the conversation. His gaze was soft, gentle even. He wasn’t looking at you with pity, however. His expression was more of a mixture of understanding and concentration, like he was afraid to say the wrong thing.
“Not so much, no,” you answered. “But the love is still there. I just have a hard time expressing it to my family, I guess. If that makes any sense at all. With my friends, it always just comes so much easier. I’ve just always felt outside myself around my family, like they know nothing about me.”
“How does that make you feel?”
“It’s just kind of how it's always been, I guess.”
Joe listened to you for ten more minutes, not protesting when you rose from the loveseat and seemed to want to change the subject to something more positive. Following you into the kitchen, he began to look through the cupboards for something to make. It didn’t take him long before finding the Kraft cups, turning around and showing you with an eye roll. He began rattling off the nutrition label, making you raise your phone to him with a hand over your mouth as you captured a short clip of his fully serious assessment.
He continued to sift through the materials of your kitchen, finding an actual box of mac ‘n’ cheese and beginning to look for your pots and pans. You silently extended a hand, letting him take the pot from you and start cooking. You walked over to the fridge, glancing around your options for drinks.
“So I have Celsius, milk, Titos, Capri suns, and water,” you told him, cringing internally at the selection.
“What flavor Capri Sun?” He asked, stirring the food in front of him.
“Looks like… strawberry kiwi.”
“Yeah, I’ll take one of those,” he looked over his shoulder at you.
You both ate in front of the living room television, watching The Hunger Games underneath the throw blanket you had extended to him as soon as you sat down. He took it graciously, eating much faster and going back for a second helping before you’d finished even half of your bowl. You snickered softly, wondering the daily caloric intake of an NFL player and how much Joe had to eat to maintain his figure.
Once you both finished eating, he followed you into your bathroom with his bag. He took his toothpaste and toothbrush out, the set you assumed was only for practice and games. You both stood in front of the mirror, brushing silently until Joe would make a face in the mirror or you would go to rinse your brush and he would slap your ass. He took the lid of the mouthwash you had filled up, knocking it back just as you had. He stifled a laugh while you swished, pulling his phone out and taking a picture of you with your hands on your hips, eyes narrowed at him and mouth full of mouthwash.
Joe’s cold hand slid onto your upper thigh as you settled back into the couch. He pinched softly and you whacked his arm slightly harder, causing both of you to laugh as he threw his hands up in playful defense. You let him lean in as he mouthed the word ‘truce’, only to attack your middle and put you with your back on the couch. He hovered above you, pressing a chaste kiss to your neck and lips.
“Should I go?” Joe asked, looking down at his phone and realizing how late it is.
“Do you want to go?” You asked him in one breath.
The only light illuminating his face was from the movie playing in the background. Joe’s pupils were blown, his hair falling forward as he was still above you. His body pressed a fraction of his weight on you, both of your pulses pounding. He let himself think about the question, humming lowly and taking in the visual before him once again.
“I never want to go,” he said, half-joking with a smirk. “You tell me. I have to be at the facility to watch film at eight, I’ll be gone before you wake up. It’ll be like I was never here. ”
Is that what he wants? The question wracked your brain as you sat contemplating how casual this was for him. His flattery sometimes felt so real, like more than foreplay or meaningless flirting. There was always the undertone of what was wrong with you two being tangled up in the same blanket, though. Joe couldn’t bring you on a real date, you would never be able to show anyone the video from the kitchen–why shouldn’t this be casual to him? He likes you, perhaps. But how can you expect him to want to tiptoe around each other’s jobs?
“Okay, yeah,” the words came out more breathy than you intended. “Sounds good to me.”
Joe studied your dimly lit face, “Everything alright?”
You told yourself not to be that same girl you were at the bar, the one you could only assume he viewed as a psychotic bitch. A part of you was willing yourself to shove down some of those strong feelings for him, giving him a soft smile and nodding. He relaxed a bit, letting you turn in his arms and watch the movie with your back to his chest.
It was only about ten minutes before you heard the sounds of his soft snores, one arm tucked underneath his head and the other firm around your chest. His breathing was deep and steady, occasionally pulling you into him further. After a few minutes, you grabbed your phone off of the coffee table and turned your camera front-facing, making sure the flash was off and snapping a picture to send to your group chat with the girls.
Sydney: Oh. My. GOD.
Sydney: I’m actually throwing up rn what the fuck
Sydney: LOOK HOW BIG HIS HAND IS
Lena: I’m freaking the fuck out omg
Lena: I’m so jealous
Lena: He’s so
Sydney: He’s fine as fuck
Y/N: IKR
Y/N: I think I’m obsessed
Sydney: Girl wbk that
Sydney: Be fucking for real
Y/N: I simply do not think I will be making it to class on Monday
Lena: That’s three days away
Y/N: Ugh Ik
Y/N: Last first day of classes!
Y/N: I’ll call you guys tomorrow and debrief
Both of them hearted the message, sending their goodnight texts and equally dirty messages about you and Joe sleeping together. You flipped the TV off and let yourself lean into his arms a bit further, inhaling his scent of high end cologne and mint. He held onto you protectively, caging you into his embrace and brushing his nose against your hair. You slowly let
yourself drift to the sound of his breaths.
⋆------------⋆
Joe woke up around six, he felt you pressing into him and against him first. His neck was stiff, wishing he’d have made it to your bed last night. He couldn’t recall falling asleep, assuming he had knocked out while you both watched the movie. He inhaled the scent of your shampoo, closing his eyes for a few moments and allowing himself to linger between that sweet spot of sleep and consciousness.
He savored the few moments of domesticity, wondering what it would be like to wake up in bed next to the other. Everything about you was so intoxicating, he had never been much of a risk taker before. He would have never risked bringing you into the locker room if he was in a completely sane state of mind. He thought of you with such desperation and yearning that he simply couldn’t have cared less about what anyone had to say about it.
Joe knew this made him selfish, made him irresponsible, and that was the worst part. He knew and he didn’t give a shit, he couldn’t stay away from you. Not that he had really tried, but he also lacked the desire to. Being around you was bad for him, Joe thought as he watched you sleep soundlessly beside him. You cause him to completely lose control of who he is and yet he cannot seem to stay away.
Slipping out from behind you without waking you was difficult, but he managed to get out over the back of the couch and readjust the blanket to cover you. Joe walked around, grabbing his jacket and pulling it on whilst also cleaning up a bit and helping with the dishes he helped dirty. He came up with the idea to leave a note once he was left looking around your kitchen, shaking off his damp hands and pulling his sleeves back down. He found a notepad and pen easily, but stared blankly at the sheet. Is leaving a note too much? He had a hard time reading your attitude towards certain things, he had tried to get you to stay for breakfast and you flat out refused him. Perhaps it was better to adhere to what was agreed on, it would be like he was never there.
After a few seconds of contemplation, Joe sighed and set the pen down. He left quietly after brushing a hand over your head once more, shutting the door softly behind him so as not to wake you up.
⋆------------⋆
When you rolled over to grab your phone, Joe was already long gone and his spot beside you had now gone cold. Yawning, you sat up and padded to the bathroom to pee and contemplate everything that had gone on during the previous night. At first glance, you assumed Joe had tidied up the strewn pillows on the living room floor and moved your phone to the coffee table.
Once you made it into the kitchen, you realized he had washed the dishes that had been used and pulled out a sheet of paper. There was nothing written on it, pen sitting idly by as if he planned to write something for you to wake up to. Casual, you reminded yourself. Both of you had agreed on casual.
The run you went on this morning was particularly long, headphones blaring as you pushed yourself further and further away from your complex. Thoughts of cheerleading and Joe weighed on your mind heavily, his head between your thighs the night before most certainly did not make it any easier for you to focus on controlling your breathing. Casual felt like a punishment, especially in this case. He couldn’t have felt a fraction of how you did, your thoughts occupied constantly with the sight of his unruly hair and large hands on your body. He was making you crazy, the way he touched you was genuinely driving you into insanity. Much less the fact that you risked your spot on the team each time you answered at his beck and call.
Your phone began to ring, Lena’s caller ID popping up. You answered, sweat coating you like a layer of oil.
“Don’t freak out.”
“Freak out?” I heaved, taking a long sip of water. “Why would I freak out?”
“There’s a picture of you and Joe on Twitter. You can’t see your face at all and you’re at a red light, all you can see is him and some of your hair,” she informed you, cautiously attempting to keep your anxiety at bay. “It’s days old, but it popped up on my timeline just now and it has a few thousand likes.”
She sent you a screenshot, fingers shaking as you opened up your texts and tapped on the picture. It was a photo from the first night you’d gone to get food, a sneaky snapshot at a redlight when your window was half down. Thankfully, only your shoulders and the back of your head was visible under the light that made the color of your hair hard to detect. Joe was looking over at you, smiling with one hand occupied by the half-gone milkshake.
Feeling like the wind was knocked out of you, you silently copied the image and sent it to Joe.
“I feel like I should end things with him officially,” was all you said to Lena. “He wants casual and I’m not sure this is worth casual.”

Mine
Joe Burrow x Reader
One of Joes friends flirts with you
Tumblr media
Joe walks into the bathroom, shirtless, and in a pair of black slacks. His muscles ripple across his abdomen, dipping down towards the top of his pants.
He holds up two button down shirts by the hanger. “White or blue?”
“Did you come in here just to show off your body?” You tease making eye contact with him in the mirror as you put on your lipstick.
A smirk crosses his face as his eyes gleam with pride. That’s exactly what he did. “I need your advice. White or blue?”
“White. I like you in the traditional black and white suit.” You smile.
“Blue it is.” He teases and flashes you a wink as he heads out of the bathroom.
You roll your eyes and continue to get ready. Tonight was the NFL Honors party. A ton of players from all different teams across the country would be gathering for the annual awards show to honor the seasons best players. Joe was up for a few awards, you expected he’d win at least one.
He’s comes back into the hotel bathroom a few minutes later looking sexier than ever. You wondered if he had any idea how hot he was.
“How’s it look?” He questioned, looking himself up and down and the mirror.
“Incredible.” You can’t take your eyes off of him. “Can you help me into my dress?” You ask, slipping off your robe and stepping into your long gown.
“You look stunning, baby.” He presses his lips to the back of your neck as he zips the dress.
You and Joe made your way to the party and spent the first hour talking with other players and Wags. There were only a handful of other players from the Bengals, so you took the chance to meet some of Joes competitors.
As Joe wandered off to chat with other players, you took the opportunity to sneak out to the bathroom. As you turned the corner to the quiet hallways, you run into a familiar face. As the only 2 Quarterbacks here tonight, Joe and Patrick Mahomes would be giving a speech together. You’d met Patrick a handful of times before at similar events. You always thought he was handsome, but unlike Joe, he was quite cocky.
“Hey Patrick.” You smiled and the quarterback reached out to embrace you in a hug.
“Hey Mrs. Burrow.” He greeted you. “Good to see you!” As you pulled away from the hug Patrick’s hand lingered over yours.
“Not Mrs. Burrow quite yet.” You laughed, flashing your engagement ring on the other hand. “Good to see you too! Is Brittney here?” You asked.
“No she couldn’t make it. Lots going at home with the kids.” He took a step closer to you, if that was even possible. His hand left yours and found its way to your hip. His fingers lightly danced across your hip bone. “You look beautiful.” He is close enough now that his breath coats your lips. “Joe wouldn’t mind if we caught up for a bit, would he?”
“Has anyone ever been able to tell you no before?” You ask in a whisper.
“Never.”
“Well I guess there’s a first time for everything.”
His forehead crumpled as his face fell into a frown and he blinked down at you. “What?” His hand slips from your hip.
“Enjoy your night.” Your turn to make your way back to the party. As you scan the room your eyes immediately lock with Joes who has just witnessed this whole incident.
He storms over to you and nearly ran over Patrick on his way. Up until this moment, Patrick had been one of Joe’s idols, but he wanted to gouge his eyes at for looking at you like that. Like you could possibly be his when you so clearly belonged to Joe. Hadn’t Patrick even referred to you as ‘Mrs. Burrow’ a moment before?
Patrick’s eyebrows shot up when he noticed Joe approaching.
“Baby, why don’t you go find our table.” Joe places his hand on the small of your back and guides you towards the room.
Joe had two crystal glasses in his hand and forced one towards Patrick. “Hey, Man.” He greeted his competitor. “Before our speech I have one question.”
You could see Patrick’s shoulders visibly fall, thinking he wasn’t going to get in trouble for flirting with you.
“When you touched my fiancé just now, which hand did you use?” Joe asked, his voice full of anger. “Your throwing hand?”
Patrick froze. “What - I -“
“My finance.” Joe took a step closer to Patrick. “Long blonde hair, black dress. The most beautiful woman at the event.” Joe pressed his drink to his lips.
“I - I -“ Patrick’s stuttered response stood no chance against Joe.
“I don’t want to see you near her again. In fact, when we sit down, you better not even look at her.”
Joe turned on his heels and made his way back into the room to find you.
Familiar hands find your shoulders and a kiss is planted on top of your head.
“I’m sorry, baby.” Joe takes a seat at the table next to you. “This will be the last time I agree to work with him.”
“It’s okay, Joey. It’s not your fault.”
“I refuse to work with someone who treats people with disrespect and behaves that way in public. I put him in his place, and if I had the choice, I’d do it all over again. He’s a jackass, and I love you. You’re mine. All mine. Mine. Mine. Mine.” Joe gives you a reassuring smile.
Players begin to take their seats and you both see Patrick making his way to your table.
“I’ll see if we can move tables.” You start to slide your chair out.
Joe grabs your hand to stop you. “It’s fine.”
“Are you sure? You did try to fight him less than ten minutes ago.”
“And I’d do it all over again if I saw someone touch you like that. Let’s make him jealous and rub it in his face.” Joe gives you a smirk and wink.

Tumblr media
Whit a groan you drop the last photo albums on the living room table before stretching once and then dropping onto the sofa between all the cozy cushions and taking a deep breath.
You've spent the last half hour looking through all the photo albums from your childhood to look at them with Joe.
Today it's been pouring with rain for half the day, so your planned walk has fallen through and you've switched to plan B. Looking at old photo albums together.
With a not exactly small snack board in his hand, Joe joins you in the living room and takes a bemused look at the ten or so photo albums your parents have made for you.
"When you said you had a few photo albums, I didn't think there would be so many," Joe says as he squeezes the snack board with various sweets onto the table between the photo albums and then drops onto the sofa next to you.
"My parents took an incredible number of photos of me. And I think they go from when I was born until I was about ten, so until I didn't want to be photographed anymore," you start to explain to him as you lean forward a little and scan the labeled photo albums for the first album.
"That's really sweet. So I'm about to see lots of photos of you as a child," mumbles Joe enthusiastically after shoving a handful of Skittles into his mouth.
"I hope there aren't any embarrassing photos in there" you laugh slightly insecurely before reaching for the photo album with the big 1 on it.
With a smile on your lips, you snuggle into Joe's open arms before opening the photo album and the first thing you see is a page full of pictures of you and your parents in hospital.
"Oh my god. You were such a tiny baby, but so cute!" Joe starts to gush, while a big grin starts to creep onto your lips and you begin to silently thank your parents for taking all those countless photos of you and now you can show them to your boyfriend.

                                ˚.*ೃ
Countless "How sweet you were!" and "oh god how cute" sentences later, it has already started to dawn while you have only just reached the fourth photo album.
"And here are my absolute favorite pictures," you babble happily as you flip to the next page and various photos of you, your parents and your siblings appear on the double page of the album.
In one of the photos, your father is proposing to your mother, while your sisters, brother and you are each holding a small bouquet of carnations - your mother's favorite flowers.
In another photo, you can see your mother crying and hugging your father, while you and your siblings are beaming with joy.
In another, there is a family photo taken directly after the proposal, while your whole family looks radiantly into the camera and one of the most beautiful moments of your family was captured in this picture.
"This is by far the cutest thing I've seen today" mumbled Joe as he looked closer at the pictures, his eyes lingering a little longer on the little four-year-old y/n.
"You've said that about every other photo today" you teased, giggling, to which Joe rolled his eyes with a grin.
"I just can't help it, okay? You were such a sweet kid and this captured memory warms my heart."
You slowly close the photo album, which you place next to you on the sofa, before sitting down on Joe's lap and wrapping your arms around his neck.
Joe's hands slowly wander down to your hips, where they find their place and he looks at you.
"You really are the sweetest boyfriend, Joey," you say, pressing a soft kiss to his cheek.
"That's my job," he assures you, smiling as he gently strokes your hipbone with his thumbs.
"Being a sweet boyfriend?"
"Yes."
"Well, in that case, my sweet friend, I'm hungry," you say jokingly.
"Well, if that's the case," he replies with a grin as he stands up and lifts you up so that he can carry you over to the adjoining kitchen, where he sets you down on the worktop and then grabs a pan.
"Then it's time for my famous Joe Pancakes," he mumbles more to himself as he starts to pick out all the ingredients he needs for his famous blueberry pancakes.
Excited and with a smile on your lips, you watch your boyfriend as he concentrates on preparing the batter and then starts making the pancakes in the pan.
Barely fifteen minutes later, you find yourself back on the sofa next to Joe with a plate full of blueberry pancakes.
And while you enjoy your pancakes, Joe flicks through the many photos of your parents' beach wedding.
Again, there are various photos of the whole family at a shoot, pictures of you and your siblings being the flower children and then a picture of you and your siblings walking hand in hand in a row to the front of your parents to bring them their rings.
From Joe's direction you keep hearing a soft "Aww", which with his full mouth sounds more like a "Maw", which makes you look over at him and giggle softly at your boyfriend.
"This is definitely my favorite album," says Joe as he closes the album and carefully places it on the table with the others.
"I love it too. I think I've looked at the photo album the most of all of them" you reply and immediately start to remember how you used to pull out the album every year on your parents' wedding day and look at it.
After you put the last bite of your pancake in your mouth, Joe takes the plate from you and puts his and your plate on the table before pulling you a little closer to him.
Automatically, you snuggle back into his warm arms, where you've spent the last few hours.
Joe's arms radiated such warmth and comfort that his arms had become your favorite place, making you want to just lie in Joe's arms.
"Would you ever want to like... get married and have kids someday?" Joe suddenly asked into the silence.
You slowly lift your head to get a better look at Joe.
You weren't expecting this question at all, so it took you a little by surprise, but you're not too surprised as you've often thought about starting a family with Joe and marrying him.
However, these two thoughts had always been so far away that your thoughts had been more or less just a kind of reverie, but now they suddenly became so real.
Since you didn't answer Joe's question directly, he suddenly gets a little nervous, so he starts playing with his hands and his eyes begin to wander nervously around the room.
"I've actually imagined it a few times. Mostly in bed at night when I can't sleep. Then I've imagined what it would be like to marry you and start a family with you," you admit honestly as you reach for Joe's hands and begin to gently stroke the back of his hand with your thumbs to take away his nervousness.
"Really? And how did you like this reverie?" Joe asked excitedly as his eyes widened.
"Really good. And I've come to the conclusion that there's nothing better than marrying you and starting a family with the love of my life." As you speak, you feel tears start to well up in your cheeks and a warm feeling begins to spread through your stomach.
Now, as you say these words and they begin to feel much more real, you know that these thoughts have always been the right thoughts and you really can't imagine anything better than being Mrs. Burrow and starting a family with Joe one day.
"With those words, you're already making me the happiest man alive, even though you're not even Mrs. Burrow yet," Joe breathes against your lips as he moves a little closer to you. "I can't wait to ask you to be my wife soon."
And three months after that conversation, Joe actually asked you to be his wife in the middle of the beach, at the same spot where your parents got married.
