the strongest argument agains lrb's "this is a secret insult" interpretation (which i still think is an interesting one, but incorrect) is that the monarchy COMMISSIONED this portrait and PAID for this portrait and charles CONSULTED on this portrait and most importantly jonathan yeo said yes to doing it in the first place - all years before charles' coronation as king.

another VERY strong argument is that jonathan yeo has done portraits of camilla in 2014 and philip in 2008, something that poster apparently missed somehow. this is not an artist who is otherwise doing like anti-monarchy work or even work that's really subversive or political otherwise.

a third argument, less strong but still worth consideration, is that his portraits of giancarlo esposito and colombian president juan manuel santos are very similar to king charles' in use of red and lack of distinction between subject and background. he seems to apply this style across the spectrum

tldr this would all be a pretty shocking long con LOL. it's just an accidentally perfect painting but while - again - lrb is a good interpretation i am hard pressed to believe it is the truth

i find the whole charles painting thing so fascinating. like from the second i saw it, it was like, this guy either hates the royal family or he the wrong type of painter for this job (as in the royal family didn't do their research) but looking at his other portraits I'm that post is like. wow. he's incredible, but he obviously hates the fucking royal family. so i went to his work to find other examples beyond that of the post. mind you im not the best at explaining my feelings about art. but i'm gonna try.

this one caught my eye. this is a study of Juan Manuel Santos, a president of Colombia. Yeo speaks of him with respect on his website. what caught my eye was that at a first glance, he looks washed out in a similar way that Charles was, but when you look for another half a second, you can see that he looks softer. his face is kind, a bit intense (placement of his hands and such), but approachable. he's a man with a lot of power, he works hard, that's obvious, but he's kind.

the color palate is softer, less surprising to the eye and it paints him in more of a gentle light rather than the deep red on Charles.

this example was used in the last post but i wanted to elaborate. the same reds, though a bit lighter, are used in this portrait. there is so much red that he looks like he has blood on his medals and even his face a bit. his uniform, unlike Santos' clear one, is completely washed out. there is no medal that stands out or positive factor here.

these two have completely different feelings to them and it's so cool to look at side by side.

anyways i agree with the conclusion that Yeo does Not like the royal family and instead of not taking the job he said, "yeah, i'll paint you, i'm gonna ruin your Whole Career though." he's making a political statement and the royal family is either too stupid to understand or they are unsure how to react. lol.

..por cierto..en esa carrera BEHOVIA_ SAN SEBASTIAN de nov 2002 o la última antes de correr la MARATON DE MAZATLAN tuve una estúpida caída al ir en la bajada a PASAJE DE SAN JUAN recortando en las CURVAS como una MOTO y pise fuera del ARCEN donde había miles de familiares de ETARRAS pidiendo que los PRESOS VOLVIERAN AL PAIS VASCO tras la dispersión que hizo malogrado Antonio ASUNCION=ASCENSION DE LA VIRGEN..amigo de mi padre desde que era DIRECTOR DE PRISIONES y luego el ministro del interior más breve de la democracia..al ASUMIR el robo de más de 6 millones de € por el director de la GUARDIA CIVIL Luis ROLDAN que dijo devolver a ASUNCION que a contiuacion monto unas PISCIFACTORIAS donde mi padre me ofreció trabajar explicándome que en su LONJA se llevaba el LOTE quien menos ofrecía para luego venderlas con ESTAFA al BANCO VALENCIA..y me quedaban como 9 KM para acabar con fuerte dolor en TOBILLO pues me salio un HUEVO y encima NO ESTABA donde habiamos acordado con mi BMW JUAN JOSE LASSO DE LA VEGA FERRER al estar SAN SEBASTIAN atascado pero tuve la SUERTE de que al devolver el CHIP DE TIEMPO al C.D. FORTUNA me devolvieron 2 € de fianza y llame a mi casa para q me dieran el MOVIL de JUAN JOSE q condujo de VUELTA A MADRID y ya no entrene mas hasta la MARATON EN MEXICO porque ademas me Diluvio en MAZATLAN y se inundo las CALLES x lo que de esperar hacer menos de 2h 30 min apesar de la humedad me fui a 2hr 45 min o 10 min mas que mi marca..x cierto..la camiseta sin numero es de la MARATON DE SEVILLA 2002 en la q hice la marca y estaba patrocinada por SUPER_CABLE cuyo emblema era un CAMA_LEON]

Abierto València llenará la ciudad de arte moderno del 22 al 29 de septiembre

El número de galerías de artes que participará en la próxima edición aumenta hasta las 19

LAVAC, la Asociación de Galerías de Arte Contemporáneo de la Comunidad Valenciana, cuenta este año con tres nuevas incorporaciones que enriquecen el panorama artístico de la Comunitat, formando así un conjunto de 19 espacios expositivos que se podrán visitar durante toda una semana: desde el viernes 22 de septiembre, día en el que se celebra la tradicional apertura de las galerías, hasta el viernes siguiente, día 29 en el que concluye el evento tras la entrega del premio Cervezas Alhambra.

La marca cervecera se suma por cuarto año consecutivo a Abierto València otorgando un premio con el objetivo de reconocer, difundir y potenciar las creaciones de los artistas emergentes y de las galerías que los acogen, para acercarlas a un público más amplio contribuyendo a la revalorización de las obras y a la creación contemporánea.

Abierto València es el evento en el que las galerías de arte contemporáneo abren sus puertas al público, generando además una serie de charlas, encuentros y actividades que conectan al público con los artistas y los galeristas, y propician una visión real y tangible de la situación artística actual. Es uno de los acontecimientos artísticos y culturales más destacados de la Comunitat Valenciana y un reflejo del fuerte panorama actual.

Las galerías participantes este año con los artistas que expondrán son las siguientes: Alba Cabrera en la sala principal con Jaume Cremades y en la sala superior con Francesca Poza; Galería Thema con Ylana Yaari; Luis Adelantado con Adrián Guerrero; Jorge López Galería con la artista Valeria Maculan; Volta Art Gallery con Miguel Angel Erba; Tuesday to Friday con Martin Kačmarek; House of Chappaz con Ovidi Benet; Rosa Santos con Elena Aitzkoa; Galería Vangar con Adrián Jorques; Isabel Bilbao con María Muñoz; Casa Bancal con Eduardo Infante; Espai Nivi Collblanc con Mónica Jover; Juan Ricardo Mejias y Juan Falcon; Galeria Benlliure con Manuel Hernández Mompó, La Mercería con Óscar Seco; Set Espai d’Art con Laia Abril; Galería Cuatro con Gemma Alpuente; Galería Ana Serratosa con Shirin Salehi; Gabinete de Dibujos con Tania Blanco, y Shiras Galería con Toño Barreiro en la Sala Principal y Julio Galeote y Ana Rod en el Espacio Refugio.

Esta amplia oferta de arte contemporáneo se podrá disfrutar a partir del viernes 22 de septiembre en las distintas galerías de la capital, mientras que en el CCCC las tres galerías que no tienen sede en la ciudad dispondrán de espacios para sus exposiciones; estas salas son la castellonense Espai Nivi Collblanc, y las alicantinas: Isabel Bilbao ubicada en Jávea y Casa Bancal en Altea.

Abierto València quiere invitar a la ciudadanía y los interesados en el arte contemporáneo y las tendencias artísticas actuales a disfrutar de las obras de arte, de los espacios y de las explicaciones de los propios galeristas y artistas durante esos días.

Aprovechando q hoy ha sido la 1/2 maraton de Madrid [con 19 atentidos x EMERGENCIAS y 4 HOSPITALIZADOS..pues creo cada vez van peor preparados o capacitados y creo q también el medio_ambiente es peor para hacer deporte o entrenar..dentro de un sistema o sociedad totalmente desnortado x la falsa moral del dinero y los idolos] recuerdo q mi 1era media maratón y carrera fue en MORATALAZ en noviembre de 1999 acabando frente al recién inaugurado TEMPLO DE JESUCRISTO Y LOS SANTOS DE LOS ULTIMOS DIAS o junto al POLIDEPORTIVO en el q en 2018 Bruno HORTELANO batió el récord más antiguo del atletismo español como eran los 400 mts [ aunque la carrera la ganó dominicano SANTOS ] tras recuperarse del accidente q le dejó secuelas en una mano pues venía de fiesta con su primo a las 6 AM..

X cierto..carrera q corri con Juan MANUEL REY liebana con el q entrenaba x el parque JUANCARLOS I tras reencontrarmelo en el GYM EMBAJADA después de 10 años de la última vez q le vi que fue en el Hospital de LA PRINCESA tras salir del COMA xq le dieron un BATAZO en la CABEZA xq al parecer le confundieron con otro a la salida de la disco GRAFF..3 meses despues corri mi 1era maratón q fue en SEVILLA [con solo 6 meses de entrenamiento o desde q en agosto 1999 me lo propuse al escuchar x los walkman mientras corría como ABEL ANTON ganaba su 2do mundial de MARATON en SEVILLA al mismo tiempo q cubano IVAN "LAZARO"=el Resucitado PEDROSO ganaba el oro al Suicidado o infartado bajo tratamiento psikiatriko YAGO "LAMELA"=CHUPALA..pues murió en mayo 2014 estando yo x las calles de SEVILLA tras bajar en principio sólo x SEMANA SANTA..y x cierto..en esa 1era maratón q hice EN FEB'00 3 hrs..me animo ALFONSO PEREZ MUÑOZ hermano de IVAN al estar fuera del HOTEL AL_ANDALUS=península ibérica bajo dominio Árabe... en el barrio de HELIO_POLIS=CIUDAD DEL SOL donde esta el Estadio del BETIS y su ciudad deportiva LUIS DEL SOL....concentrado para jugar ese día un derby contra EL SEVILLA empatando a uno y encaminando x ello a los 2 a SEGUNDA DIVISION x 1era vez en su HISTORIA pero JUNTOS
