Im rewatching jungle fury and i noticed that i never see any one talk about Whiger? Especially the relationship and dynamic between him and Casey. I mean presumably in this world not everyone has a spirit animal that they can connect to / fight with. So that further deepens there connection, then he fact that Casey is there for him as he is dying.
Also presuming that Casey is the first one to show this “killing tiger monster/spirit” kindness. I think there’s a strong possibility they probably understood each other on a more deeper spiritual level as they were both tigers.
I’m not an expert, but I feel like Casey background was probably very lonely as when we see him in the beginning of the show, he’s a cub. We don’t see him have any meaningful connections (And on top of that being picked on by Jared). I think it would’ve been interesting to try and keep him alive for a few more episodes and see how that would’ve affected the story and Casey; Maybe we would see Whiger grow.
I would like to have seen more connection to his background as a cub and everyone else technically having a Headstart before him.
If he had to die, I would’ve liked maybe a more impact on Casey’s costume, maybe a new weapon / power / Zord? I feel like Whiger was used as a single episode instead of something to build off of. I think it would be really cool if Casey had two spirit, animals, tiger, and white tiger. Though, that may be showing some favoritism, what can I say? I like Casey! (I would love to have seen where their relationship would have gone if Whiger had lived tho)
Anyway, as you can tell, I’m just a crazy Power Rangers fan. Who’s definitely overthinking a single episode with one throwaway monster.
