Personally, I'd have a hard time putting the "best ever" label on a season in which: Max Scherzer needs an MRI on his throwing arm; Oneil Cruz misses the entire year with a broken ankle; the Rays lose Jose Siri to injury after already losing Wander Franco to statutory rape accusations; and Shohei Ohtani suffers what could be a future-altering series of injuries (at minimum, any thought that he'd get a 10-year/$600,000,000 contract offer this winter has to be out the window now). And that's just today's headlines!

There's also: Domingo Germán throws a perfect game and then goes to rehab less than a month later. Julio Urías gets arrested for domestic violence. Anthony Rizzo gets concussed in front of everyone but no one notices for two months. And (though maybe this should be considered a positive) Tim Anderson finds out what FAFO means.
