Kalpataru Power Transmission, its arms bag orders worth Rs 2,290 crore

Kalpataru Power Transmission Ltd and its arms have bagged new orders worth Rs 2,290 crore.

Kalpataru Power Transmission Limited (KPTL), a leading global EPC (engineering, procurement and construction) player in the power and infrastructure contracting sector, and its subsidiaries have secured new orders/notification of awards of Rs 2,290 crore at a consolidated level, a company statement said.

These include orders from international markets in the power transmission business of Rs 1,416 crore.

The company and its subsidiaries also won orders for the construction of an elevated viaduct and five elevated stations of the Kanpur Metro Rail Project, civil works for a data centre and B&F (buildings and factories) projects in India totalling Rs 874 crore.

"We are delighted with the traction in new order wins in our T&D, Urban Infra and B&F business. The new orders secured over the past few months will help us to further diversify our global reach and improve our order mix across business verticals.

Fundo Vale and Quintessa Boost Brazilian Forest Carbon Initiatives

  Fundo Vale and Quintessa, an impact accelerator, selected five innovative businesses with the potential to solve challenges in the agroforestry carbon ecosystem to participate in the Desafios Floresta & Clima - Carbon Edition program. Those selected participated in the program's national call, launched in February, which received 239 applications.  Those chosen will undergo the acceleration program carried out by Quintessa, lasting six months, which includes individual monitoring, mentoring to support the strategic challenges of each business, and connections with Fundo Vale, Vale and strategic partners of the initiative.  The accelerator opted for the personalized acceleration methodology to ensure the program's assertiveness in adding value to the reality of each business, as it had prior knowledge of the ecosystem that good solutions in the sector could be in different stages of maturity.  The accelerator's methodology has already boosted more than 400 impact startups in the country.  The work also helps Vale achieve its commitment to recover and protect 500,000 hectares of forests in Brazil by 2030. Today, the company already protects approximately 1 million hectares in the countries where it operates, 800,000 of which are located in the Amazon. Fundo Vale is responsible for coordinating and implementing the goal.    "Throughout the investments in new impact businesses for the 2030 Vale Florestal Goal, we realized that one of the great challenges for a large scale is to unlock structuring bottlenecks for the chain as a whole. And, by seeing Brazil as a potential global player in this agenda, accelerating businesses that can give scale to this forestry economy is the main objective of this program. Safra de Inovações" coloca frente a frente empreendedores agtechs

Iniciativa da John Deere, primeiro reality show agrícola do Brasil visa apresentar soluções inovadoras para o setor

A John Deere, líder mundial no fornecimento de equipamentos e soluções tecnológicas para agricultura, construção e silvicultura, estreou o reality show "Safra de Inovações - O desafio das startups do agro", o primeiro programa de competição voltado exclusivamente para o agronegócio. Participam do reality nove startups, que devem apresentar suas soluções a um júri formado por especialistas no setor e produtores rurais clientes da John Deere.

Para definir as melhores soluções de cada desafio proposto no reality, o Safra de Inovações conta com três especialistas: Francisco Jardim, da SP Ventures; Teka Vendramini, da Sociedade Rural Brasileira; e Mariana Caetano, da KPTL. Já o grupo de produtores é formado por Pedro Gabarra, Jader Pereira e Guilherme Almeida. A apresentação do programa é do humorista e influenciador digital Marcus Cirillo.

"Com o Safra de Inovações, queremos mostrar ao público geral o grande investimento que a empresa faz em inovação aberta, além de abrir os olhos para a enorme quantidade de startups produzindo tecnologias que auxiliam na produção de alimentos para o mundo todo", afirma Leandro Carrion, gerente de Inovação, Geração de Valor e Experiência do Cliente da John Deere.

As nove empresas do reality foram definidas com base em três desafios propostos pelos produtores: Sustentabilidade, que contará com ModClima, Gênica e VOA; Logística, do qual participarão Trucker do Agro, Agrare e Fretefy; e Digitalização & Capacitação, que terá Já Entendi Agro, TBDC e Lucro Rural como participantes. O Safra de Inovações também contou com o apoio do AgTech Garage, maior hub de inovação no agronegócio da América Latina, para selecionar as startups competidoras. Com o auxílio do hub, mais de 100 jovens empresas da comunidade foram avaliadas para participação no reality, que teve 15 finalistas antes de selecionar as nove participantes. Dentre elas, apenas uma sairá vencedora de cada um dos desafios. No episódio final, as três vencedoras de cada categoria disputam o prêmio do programa: uma imersão no Centro de Tecnologia e Inovação da John Deere em Urbandale, no estado de Iowa, que compõe o Corn Belt americano (ou Cinturão do Milho), uma região agrícola farta, com clima favorável e especializada na produção do milho.
