kuukou’s and hitoya’s abilities!!!!

we didn’t get to see jyushi’s yet, but hitoya’s objection sends the move right back at the opponent!!! hitoya uses his ability in retaliation against hifumi, whose ability as we know makes the opposing member attack their own team, which is exactly what happens; hifumi winds up attacking his own team!!! so it looks like hitoya can send the ability effects right back at them as well!!!

as for kuukou, his takes a moment to charge up apparently, but once he’s done, meditation can seal off his opponent’s ability!!! he uses it on jakurai and we see sensei take no damage from the ability itself. but upon attempting to heal his teammates, his ability looked almost cancelled out completely. whether or not the the ability stays sealed for the rest of the match or if kuukou has to be taken out/heavily damaged will have to be answered next month possibly lol

it’s the final countdown!!!!!!!!!!!! *trumpets play* it’s down to the final team and last few days of my hypmic month celebration!!!!!! day 16 kicks off the buster bros and i just wanna apologise now, i am incapable of shutting up about the buster bros!!!!!!!!

First impressions: ohhhh lookit the little (big) 14 year old sampling from classic music in his mix!!!! such taste!!! a high class baby!!!

Current impressions: this baby wants power. he will not stop until he’s on top and is looking down on us all. he will do whatever it takes to secure his success, even if that means killing off the parts of himself he finds weak and inefficient. he really really hates to lose after all

saburo is the most intense and frightening fourteen year old i’ve had the pleasure of knowing! it’s because he is largely a normal kid you know?? growing up has been rough for him, of course, he’s an ‘orphan,’ and he's a walking computer with that genius brain of his but other than that, he is a normal boy! he goes to school, does chores and helps out with the family business! yet somehow he grew up to be such a twisted little fcker that looks down on pretty much everyone he meets like where did he get that from?? i really do understand jiro’s general confusion over saburo’s personality change lol

Favorite thing:

my absolute favorite thing about saburo is that he, ichiro and rei kinda create a triangle of connected parallels. idk if i’ll wind up talking about this with ichiro or not, but ichiro and rei are parallels of each other, two sides of the same coin. saburo’s kind of at a crossroads because of this and we see it start to play out between his solo, requiem, and with helter skelter. saburo has ambition and he hates to lose. with rei popping into their lives and making him seriously question ichiro, saburo may have to make a decision: to pursue power rei is dangling in front of him or to stay with the family and home he knows ichiro has worked his ass of the create. and it’s a lowkey callback to how ichiro was as at saburo’s age, ambitious and power hungry and taking the hand of the one who promises him the power he needs. *clenches fist* the parallels........!!!!!!!!!!

Least favorite:

i have a love/hate relationship with his personality!!!!!!!! what the fck is he so mean for lmao!!!!!!!!

What i want to see from this character:

make a friend like damn kid. or at least show him pogging with his online friends. if he has those. making friends can be hard but i believe in him!!!

Favorite moments:

Requiem and how jam packed that song is with character 🎹🎤

the drama track that came with the first volume of bb vs mtc manga and the scene in helter skelter where ichiro asks if jiro and saburo remember who nemu is as a joint moment!! the incredibly inaccessible manga exclusive drama track is really cute and details jiro and saburo working together(-ish) to solve a yorozuya yamada request. in the track, jiro reminisces how cute saburo used to be like, literally two years ago lmao, when he used to call jiro ‘jiro-nii.’ saburo completely denies this ever happened, pretty much stating he doesn’t remember that so jiro is obviously wrong and lying. now i 100% believe saburo was lying just to be the contradictory little shit he is with jiro but there is a sliver of a chance he only remembered because jiro told him so. if that is the case, then it further shows off saburo’s desire to kill the weakest parts of himself like he sings in requiem. the scene in helter skelter is the final nail on that coffin because saburo flat out does not remember who nemu is. which is nuts because it happened only two years ago and he was in distress. saburo is showing a pretty destructive coping mechanism for his traumas and it’s great and terrifying to watch

and then saburo’s entire role in the hypquest vrmmorpg event in arb. from saburo being a complete heel asking jiro for a favor for him, to clapping back and jiro anytime he questioned why saburo’s tastes were so edgy (lol i’m sorry jiro) to saburo returning the game because hifumi was a walking cheat character was peak saburo man lol

saburo is actually shorter than his listed height. see these bad boys???

Ships:

lol none but i have come to the conclusion i would like saburo to start becoming friends with jyushi. they are really similar as people in the sense that i think saburo has the narcissistic confidence that jyushi wishes he had and jyushi’s aesthetic is on par with saburo’s (and if jiro and jyushi start dating, saburo will cockblock jiro a stupid amount of times because saburo wants to hang out with his friend jiro’s love life be DAMNED lmao)
