I'm not touching bnha canon with a ten foot pole, but I feel like this is a prime time for a fic self plug. Friendly reminder that two years ago I wrote an AU where the next little stray the HPSC would prey on if they ever lost control of Hawks would 100% have been Shinsou

#He literally has all the requirements #Strong quirk that can easily lend itself to nefarious uses like brainwashing people's free will away #If in the wrong hands #(the wrong hands being hero brainwashing itself. Or - as nagant put it - hero education)#It would be so easy for the hpsc to convince him that using it on villains makes society a better place #They did it with nagant. They can do it with Shinsou #Plus there's also the parallel that they were all self conscious about their quirks #Kaina? Check. Keigo? Check. Shinsou? Check #Manipulating that with a loop of positive feedback for nefarious uses of said powers would've been child's play #They did it with keigo and it worked perfectly lol #Coincidentally that parallels afo's manipulation of little tenko but that's neither here nor there #...
