Run to the Nest of Evil
I was looking back at my double date with Miyako and Fluttershy. I had decided to go on another. This location was Mario Bros. Pizza and Pasta in Saffron City. I immediately told Miyako and Fluttershy about it and they accepted. Just then, General Tetsuzan contacted me. According to him, a scientist named Professor Iwamoto had been kidnapped by Egos to build a secret weapon for them. I immediately rounded up my fellow Powerpuffs, the Mane Six and the Battle Fever J and we set off toward the Egos base. On the way, we found the professor’s son, Kazuki, whom Kensaku had been helping train his pigeon, Ryuseigo, to fly to a special whistle that not only emits sound, but special magnetic waves. We figured that this boy may be useful in helping us track down Egos, so we took him with us. When we found Egos’ base, we realized that the weapon had already been completed and that Professor Iwamoto was to be disposed. Kazuki immediately tooted his whistle and Ryuseigo came flapping his wings and rescuing the professor, while we destroyed the secret weapon. Once the father and son were reunited, the professor’s kidnapper revealed his true identity, Egos’ eighteenth monster, Magnet Monster. I immediately used Fire Blast on him, weakening him. My fellow Powerpuffs and the Mane Six then used their magic attacks to cripple the Egos Monster even further. Finally, the Battle Fever J finished Magnet Monster off with their Penta Force Cannon. That night, Miyako, Fluttershy and I chowed down on a huge family pizza. It was the perfect double date for three magical youths.

Literary Colors
Author: Yoshiko Iwamoto Wada
This is a page from the book The Japanese Art of “Kusaki-zome,” Nippon Colours: Dyeing in a Hundred Colours with Juices of Plants and Grasses, by Akira Yamazaki, grandfather of my colleague Kazuki Yamazaki, who is, along with his father, Seiju Yamazaki, among the foremost authorities in Japanese natural dyeing and color science. The page shows four bundles of silk threads dyed with natural plant materials in shades most favored in Japan, historically researched by Akira Yamazaki through literary references. Akira Yamazaki was a well-known scholar and a literatus of the Meiji and Taisho eras and became interested in colors through his study of ancient literature. The focus of the book is to shed light on the Japanese color palette and color names that match dye plants mentioned in literature and in ancient official documents. The knowledge of natural dyeing was rapidly lost when Japan opened its doors to the world. After the new Meiji Era began in 1868, an influx of Western goods, technology, and culture came into Japan. The Japanese were thrust out of the feudal society into the modern age. Chemical dyes were embraced as the latest technology in textile production, eradicating natural dye practices, except indigo, which held on among traditional dyers. Akira Yamazaki related to Kazuki that without the continuing practice of Chinese herbal medicine in Japan, he would not have been able to take on the natural dye research. He coined the term Kusaki-zome meaning dyeing with plants and grasses to differentiate it from chemical dye practice. He published a book with the same title in Japanese in 1958 while undertaking the tri-lingual publication of The Art of Kusaki-zome seen here (in Japanese, English, and French). The threads on the upper and lower left are dyed with benibana (safflower) Carthamus tinctorius. The color of the upper threads is Kurenai (Castilian Red), and the lower is Shinku (Orange Red). This shade of warm red with beni dye should give a good indication of what the red in Cooper Hewitt’s under-kimono would have been if the fabric were dyed in natural beni dye instead of chemical red. The threads on the upper and lower right are dyed with suoh, Caesalpina Sappan L, a flowering tree that produces a valuable reddish dye called brazilin, which is used for dyeing fabric as well as making red paints and inks. The color of the upper threads is Shinpi (Holly Berry), and the lower is Enzi (Deep Carmine, Crimson Red). The sketch in the middle of the page is of the flowering tip of suoh. The Japanese text below the sketch explains that the Sappan wood’s bark and roots yield red dye that manifests in one of the widest variety of shades depending on which auxiliaries are used in the dye process. This may be the reason why Sappan wood has been imported to Japan continuously since the Nara Period AD 710 to 794.
Yoshiko Iwamoto Wada is an artist, author, curator, historian, and educator with expertise in Japanese textile arts.

[AJPW NEWS] Several updates following the conclusion of the “2018 Champion Carnival”.
First up director Takao Omori announced that rookie Kazuki Ebina has withdrawn from All Japan Pro-Wrestling. The young man felt the pressures of competing and touring. He last competed on the April 20 show against Koji Iwamoto, but even on his debut back on April 7 there was issues with him not believing himself to be ready. Omori stated that there is a tremendous responsibility for pro-wrestlers to conduct and handle themselves in an appropriate manner, but Ebina proved to be the case of being not 100% mentally when it comes to being disciplined enough for the rigorous work that everyone has to put forth while on tours.
Then Yusuke Okada suffered a right ankle injury during the final day of the Champion Carnival. A right fibula fracture to be exact. It is not career threatening in the least, but one that will take the proper rest and care for him to return at 100%.
Then the board of directors held a meeting and announced it as official that Kento Miyahara will be defending the Triple Crown Heavyweight belt against Naomichi Marufuji. This follows the conclusion of the Champion Carnival in which Marufuji bested Miyahara for the win. Miyahara stated that he is still in regret following the loss, but this is not the first time that he has fallen and needed to strive to come back to the top.
Then the World Tag belts were announced to be in defense on June 3, as  Ryoji Sai and Dylan James defend against TAJIRI and KAI. This match comes about following the conclusion of the final day of the Champion Carnival after KAI captured the direct win over James and asserted themselves as the next challengers. Miyahara stated that he was familiar with Marufuji during his time in NOAH, but the final of the Carnival was the first time he felt what the 20 year veteran can deliver in a big match. He now knows the level that he will have to overcome once more to prove himself as a true Triple Crown Champion. Then Marufuji, though focused on the GHC Heavyweight title match also in May, stated that he cannot deny the history of what the Triple Crown holds. Not only from the lineage that brought forth the creation of NOAH, but the history that the belt holds for the sport in general. To hold the belt around his waist is a cherished with. He acknowledged that he may not stand with the best in terms of size and weight, but his skill and effort in the ring has brought him to this level to compete against some of the very best that the ring has to offer today.
All of the event cards were updated to reflect upon the absences and changes...
