Wednesday 10/4/23 @ 4:00PM
*This event is online only.*
Join the staff of the Kingsbridge Library for a slideshow about banned and challenged books that will be part trivia game, part book discussion, and part resource guide. Celebrate your freedom to read with us!
During this virtual program, you will learn about the most frequent reasons that books are challenged, some of the most frequently challenged books and authors, plus books and websites that you can explore to learn more about censorship.
This Banned Books Week program is for teens ages 13-18.

For our brand-new Black History Month display, I decided to create a BOOK BINGO game! If you'd like to pick up your own copy so you can play along, there are copies on the table right next to the display, and we also have copies at the service desk on our main floor (right by the Teen Take-Home Kits)!
Our Black History Month display includes books by black authors that will help you check off boxes in the game! The display features:
Romiette and Julio by Sharon Draper
Monster by Walter Dean Myers
The Black Flamingo by Dean Atta
Black Panther: A Nation Under Our Feet, Book 1 by Ta-Nehisi Coates
Pathfinders: The Journeys of 16 Extraordinary Black Souls by Tonya Bolden
