DWC Day 3 - Inspiring Passion
A whole year has come and gone, perhaps the fastest year that I can recall to date in my life thus far. Still we treat dating as if it were our first, leaving lasting impressions on one another's hearts that are unforgettable. When he asked me to come with him that night on yet another of his other worldly adventures into the cosmos and beyond, who was I to say no? I was eager to see what night sky he would whisk me away too this time and thus one might imagine my shock when I found myself gazing at a sky not unfamiliar. It was very similar to where we had gone on our first date. Right away I knew this night would be something special, but what night spent away with my beloved Kal was not extraordinary? He was my extravagant one before I knew his name, he still is to this day.
Though the sky above us was familiar, the lay of the land beyond that was entirely new to me. Just like every date I've taken with him, there is always a leap of faith hand in hand before we tread another measure through time. We leapt down the ledge to the lake below as I half expected us to walk on water to the edge of the falls. But he guided me instead to a boulder that stood out of the water somewhere in the middle of the lake. As I've come to appreciate, he began caressing me with sweet words and gentle touches he knew I was a sucker for and melting my heart with his handsome smile. He wished to show me something tonight. Something that he had not shared with any other as it was very difficult for him to share at all. I could not begin to fathom what it might be so I stood there on the boulder watching him most curious and quite eager.
With the magic he commanded as expertly as one breathed air, he summoned forth a case as a beautiful violin was pulled from it. I hadn’t even known that Talthorn could play an instrument of any sort, he was only recently learning how to sing but this took me by surprise. Was he seeking lessons from someone in secret as I had done for him last winter’s veil? So many curious thoughts filled my head but I asked not a one as soon those questions were all silenced. He took his first steps out onto the water, the magic of the potion he’d drunk kept him from sinking into the lake. He turned to face me as he raised that violin to his shoulder and his chin came down to hug it so intimately. His hair was worn long so it cascaded down the full length of his backside and down to his knees catching every glimmer of the moon and the starlight above that reflected in the water around him. Just merely standing there like that he left me breathless with anticipation and in awe of the magnificent sight he was to behold. And yet, he seemed… nervous? But why? I was probably the only one who could even see it in him, but I knew the signs to look for. He was shaking, trying to remain confident and in control but he was truly uneasy about this. It was so very unlike him I did not know rather to stop him or to encourage him to give him comfort to go on. ((Care to Hear What he Played?)) The moment the first few notes were played, my mouth went agape. As soon as I heard that bow against those strings I was captivated. It was beautiful, and it instantly made my breath pause as I dare not take my eyes away from him. Everything around us in that moment seemed suddenly alive with the magic of the scene he was creating, and then… the first notes of the song played. By note three I knew what he was playing and I was left breathless a second time as I gasped unable to find air. He was playing our song. One of many songs we held near and dear, but this one… was -very- dear. We first heard it together at a ball where we had danced the night away entirely lost in one another’s arms there under the Stormsong moonlight. It was later the song I chose to sing to him in my closing at “Konfest” much to his surprise. I sang of my heart's desire with the full range of my voice before all our friends who had come to support Talthorn’s grand idea of a show that had sparked the Hearts of Tenacity as it was today. It was the very song he hummed time and time again in our home. And now, it was the song he was in his own way singing back to me through his own language of love. Just hearing him play it was beautiful. Watching him and how he put his entire heart into the song as he played and his fingers shook along those strings was breathtaking. But when he chose to add his magical flare to the song as a full show of what his heart felt in those moments was something, I had no words for. The water rose from the lake itself and swirled around him as he played, the way his hair flowed behind him as those runes along his body flared to life and the pure emotion in his face. I will never forget it. He said it was something he would only show me and noone else, I saw and I knew why in these moments as the song came to an end. I was witnessing something he had long ago lost and found anew. Something that gave him a way to show his true emotions through art and music and how terrifying it was for him to trust that it was ok to live in the now of this moment and embrace the passion he felt within him. The literal and figurative magic of this moment was something Talthorn had meant to share before an audience of one. And by its end, there was no applause. Only tears as ones heart naturally burst with the joy and warmth you felt after such a moment shared as this. When he came to me it was all I could do not to drop to one knee. Talthorn and I have a dream to share our passion with the world and to be the warm lights that still shine for many. That night, he was my passionate one and I was the light that held him till those hands trembled no more.

005. Are they in good health?
Physically, very much so. Though one could argue he could stand to do more exercising. Luckily he doesn’t eat much of his pastries so there’s not much to worry about in that regard.
Mentally, still debatable though he is certainly in a better spot compared to months ago. LIfe’s slipped into a steady and comfortable pattern. He is, at least, content.
012. What makes your character embarrassed?
Praise, genuine praise. It’s in his nature to be uncomfortable to a point of brushing off most compliments. That isn’t to say that he doesn’t mind an ego boost now and again. He might seek adoration, but often forgets the praise accompanying it.
Discussing his personal life or things coming up from his past. Say a certain magazine cover coming to light. Certain old behaviors would be unbecoming of the priest he is today. Though, perhaps he’s a little jealous he isn’t as carefree as he used to be.
017. When does your character think that violence is justified or deserved?
Ra’hsen once, and still argues, that under any circumstance violence is not the correct answer. However, believing and preaching are two different matters.
Is violence justified? Yes. To establish order, however, will only create an unstable foundation. It’s far better to work through the system to fix whatever problem at the root. But if asked he’d see himself above any system.
052. What is your character’s worst flaw?
As 17 suggests, hypocrisy. While he may present himself as the priest, Ra’hsen in private is anything but. Even to the point where his duality of person has left him conflicted and lost. So long he has preserved this image of himself it’s trapped him within it.
054. Does your character want power or authority of any kind?
Somewhat. Ra’hsen desires just enough authority to do what he wants and not be bothered. There’s zero interest in being a government official. The weight of his work at the Clinic and for the Silvermoon Conclave is already stressful. He’d be happy with just running a small enough business, with a few favors from influential folk, to just chill. Spend time with his partner, bake, and smoke. It’s a simple life but free to do what he wants.
Thank you @konietzko-lumenstone!

~ When - "You know we often find ourselves working together at these events now and again but I've yet to ever really come to know you or talk much at all. I assume it's because like most of us you're just busy or focused elsewhere but well... here I am asking, when might a good time be for Talthorn and I to get to know you better fellow tart?"
“Oh. Yeah. I don’t really have an easy time “getting to know people” -- like, pretty sure Ryland and I didn’t even know each other’s names until we’d hung out more than twice. Really just kinda go with the flow and see where conversation goes, usually, if it goes anywhere. The last few times I’ve been at stuff I think you’ve either been working at it, or I’ve been working at it.
My personal not-Tart work schedule makes it hard for me to schedule anything when people normally hang out, so try and catch me at any of the events this month or next time there’s a chill Tart bar night! I’ll probably be around!”

♥ : What kinds of characters are the most fun for you to write for?💔 : What kinds of characters do you have the most trouble writing for?
♥ : I always enjoy writing academic characters—incessantly nosy, know-it-all types. I like to theorize about lore and come up with my own interpretations/expansions on canon powers and things, and academia is usually a good bet for that. I tend towards mages, partly because I find them so fun to play mechanically but also because I just enjoy the class fantasy.
💔 : I tend to struggle writing brusque characters. I'm afraid to hurt people by being rude IC, so I always default to bemused-but-friendly. It's silly, but I'd like to get better at sticking to my guns and maintaining characterization even when it isn't, like, completely palatable. It made RPing my Forsaken characters a little rough.

Truth be told, I have always wanted to talk to you outside an event and get to know you a bit more. The way you glow when you wear your wings is truly, breathtaking and awe inspiring.
“That’s nice to hear, thank you. The unfortunate and busy nature of my profession makes it hard for me to make time outside events; I’m a trauma surgeon in Silvermoon and an aspirant for the Valkyra outside of that -- when I’m not mending or training, I’m usually sleeping or trying to get some me-time back.
I’ll try and make the next social we do, those are easier to talk at than the shows.”

You received a gift from Celeste!
T A L && K O N
Tea: Dancing Stars Ingredients: -orange peel + dried mint + hazelnut + candied starfruit + dried lemongrass + dried moringa leaf Flavour: herbal tea (no caffeine); a smooth bodied tea with a creamy mint flavour followed seamlessly by notes of candied citrus. Other Gifts: galaxy chocolate sugar cookies.
Merry Winter's Veil, Tal and Kon! I had so much fun thinking about what kind of tea to craft you both. I wanted to fit not only your aesthetic as performers, but also the softness you both share. I needed stars and sweets! So, I created a very smooth feeling tea that tastes almost as if you are drinking a warm creamsicle—it tastes better than it sounds, I promise—with a very literal addition of STARfruit. Budumtsss. You two shine brighter than the stars! It's only fitting your tea reflected this. Continue being amazing, you guys! Cookies included for you to share. -Celeste Runewhisper

The former lover's widowed husband? Wow complicated.
Isn’t that a mouth full.
Most admirable quality: So far? From what I’ve seen so far Konietzko is a kind man. Perhaps a little loud, but supportive of those around him. The night we met he was accompanied by a photographer, Talthorn. Curious sort, but a man of talent nonetheless. By watching the two interact was nothing short of sweet, perhaps a little too much for my own palette. But, anyone would be lucky to have someone in their life a fraction as supportive as Konietzko was that night.
Most attractive physical feature: Attractive? I’ve hardly any place to assign that quality. I barely know the man after all. It’d be improper to find any soul attractive without knowing them first. But, if I must, his voice has a certain candor. I’d be happy to listen all eve.
Most annoying habit: Difficult to place. Difficult to know, really. I find it rather rare to pick up on an annoying habit after a single meeting. Assuming if it isn’t an obvious vocal tick. So, I must say, I find our blue feathered owl to be quite a delight.
Something they would like to do with them: To get to know him better. Be it in the company of others or over a cup of tea. Perhaps convince him to try some more mellow sweets as well. Something beyond just dark chocolate, though I hardly can complain. Perhaps a more liquid treat would suffice. His late husband did enjoy those.
Hoot, hoot!

the moon: what are you hiding from yourself or from others?
"Hiding? Oh dear. I do my best not to hide things from others, these days. It's only ever landed me in heaps of trouble, like when I hid the extent of my mana use and ended up in the Violet Hold, or when I hid Ophene from the Council of Six. Oh! Or when I hid a mana wyrm in my toybox as a child and it escaped and destroyed my room. Mother was terribly cross with me. Though now that I think about it, I tend to hide a great many more things from myself. I hate to let myself really bask in how happy I am these days, lest the universe sense it and turn my luck for the worse."

Unexpected Tea Time
Day 1: Reunion - Afterlife
Returning to what was left of Aszuna was always a back and forth experience with the magi. One the one hand! It was so incredible to return and to discover what he could in the area in which he had been familiar with so many years ago! On the other....well there were a few horrible deep down issues that even now Talthorn had not known how to deal with in the supreme and unadulterated guilt he held for not being there for his family when everything had been completely obliterated.
However as the older man was a master at being able to compartmentalize most of this, it was far easier to cope for him. So when he returns to places such as the Nar'thalas Academy more times than not, he would be able to appreciate his trip for what it was. A journey into the past with adventures to be had and mysteries to uncover! Already dressed in what would be considered exploring robes, the magi would descend into the libraries once again with interest in the lost knowledge that had been long buried here. It was not any secret that there were still wandering spirits both aware and unaware of the situation that transpired here. There were some that were nothing more than shrieking sirens and others that just wandered about in a daze and loop of routine. Talthorn did his best not to linger too much with some of them, because in truth they really were just no one you could hold any degree of conversation with.
That day though, he had come across a hallway that had broken down to a point in revealing a section of library he had not explored at all! Naturally Talthorn had blinked about and peeked around to determine if it was a good idea to venture in a bit further. Spotting a crumble mess of shelve and knowledge had him sparkle with excitement and in his infinite wisdom would try to squeeze himself through the space to get through. A few disgruntled noises and flaps about, until finally another blink was used to get through. Dusting off his hands and looking proud as if it was a beautiful first attempt, he walks over in a determined but animated fashion to see what sort of discoveries he could make!
To his surprise there was a ghost in here and shoots up right in front of him. After a strangled surprised sound erupts from his lungs and the barrier answers his call to guard him he looks ready to spring into an attack! When the woman there just stares at him it takes a moment for him to realize...? He knew this elf! She was one of the instructors here! Her image was not contorted or twisted, just....here. She was searching over him, uncertain what to make of him, and Talthorn slowly returns to a normal stance and brushes off his robes. "Ah! Good day to you. Forgive me, I was not expecting company." he grins at her and sees she is perking up a brow with his words.
"You're a little different than the last experience I had on the other side of the Academy. Shriekers they were. Quite rude if I must say! Chased me out when I wanted to borrow a couple of the tomes in flora and fauna research....in given time. Which is very obsolete now....but still fascinating!" He continued to speak to the ghost even if she didn't offer a single motion to show he understood. Wondering if she could speak at all, the magi would decide a different line of conversation.
"Oh! How unbecoming of me. I know you probably don't recognize me. But I was one of your students a very long time ago! Not....a very good one....but still! A student nonetheless. Talthorn Syl'voran!" he strikes a bit of a pose earning him a confused look from the ghost. "It is good to see Lady Swiftwind."
There were a few moments that she just stares, seeming to search over Talthorn for more answers. But that nod showed she was capable of understanding! Choosing not to speak she folds up her hand and floats there as if in thought before she gestures over to the fractured table. The magi blinks at her and tries to figure this out. "Hm? Oh! Did you want me to join you? To catch up or something? That's a lovely idea! Let's go do that." he babbles, seeming to himself as if she had not spoken. He saunters over in the somewhat slanted room and looks at the state of the table. Taking it upon himself to adjust it and turn it a bit so it was properly put up, he manages to find a couple of seats, probably not meant for this table at all but gives them a resemblance of home to their new space.
"Will this do? I hope I have not disturbed anything too greatly." the friendly magi continues, not at all put off that he was having a reunion from a dead teacher. The ghost shakes her head and moves to sit down, giving the impression that she didn't know how to speak at all. It mattered little for someone like that thrived in talking often! Sitting down at the other seat he would inspire more sparkling conversation. "Ah good! Well, I suppose I fill you in on the obvious. This entire area has been completely destroyed. For a great many years!"
The woman gives him a flat look as if to indicate she gathered that part. She waves the semblance of a haunted tea set, and after pouring the pot of non-existent tea expects Talthorn to accept her offering. Attempting to do so, but grasping onto nothing the magi stares at the ghostly tea cup. He conjures up a quick cup so as not to seem rude and holds it up to her and bows his head pretending it was what she gave him. Content with that, Lady Swiftwind gives her attention to the older man. "Ah! It seems maybe you knew that already? Then perhaps you would like to know why." he smirks and sees her face actually smile at him. Oh what an interesting day this was going to be!!
(( This was one of the more favorable interactions with one of the ghosts at the Academy! It really is more of a rare occurrence but Talthorn is always glad to make friends! Even those that are lingering the Afterlife as it were. I am sure he will ask @konietzko-lumenstone in the future if he would mind having tea with her sometime. )) @daily-writing-challenge

DW2021-6 Festival/Ruin
- [ MUSIC ] -
They always tell you that no one will know if you mess up.
That is what Lyn had said right before stepping out to introduce Kou to the world.
Kou furrowed every time a fellow Tart said that, as it was usually followed by an adoring head pat or ear scritch. Though Kou often felt himself a perfectionist, he’d been an understudy for performance and stepped in to assist. After all, what bigger way to star in his own debut than at FireFest? The festival was loud, perfect, he’d made quite the impression with attendees and vendors alike. He was generally well-liked.
Performing wasn’t something new to him, the illusionist shows that he presented were always over the top, he lived for impressing and entertaining. Overdramatic, extra, it was what the Popstar was, and there, in the evening heat of a massive crowd, he was calm as ever. He was well prepared, and yet…
Something didn’t seem right. He’d begun to have a small sense of self-doubt. Self-conscious sensations flooded his chest, eating away at his confidence at the realization that this was far more than just a performance. He was putting on a whole display just for one thing… It wasn’t the entertainment, it wasn’t the nature of wanting to amaze the crowds...
It was to answer a question. Two questions.
How full of yourself did one have to be to have a full concert-esque routine just to tell someone yes? To have an entire crowd answer for you with all eyes on you. And what if the answer had come too late? What if they weren’t even in the audience? What if their answer was no..?
It was too late.
Smoke lit up the stage, spotlights and lasers overtook everything, gearing up for a grand entrance. Drawing in a deep breath, he didn’t have time to think anymore, his sole focus had been on putting on the show that he had promised to give. That he had told people the front row was the place to be… Looking across the stage towards Azzie, both nodded at each other.
It was go time…
And right off the bat, he tripped.
Stumbling a moment, Kou pulled himself together and that had been alright, no one had noticed and he focused on pulling his head into the game. Turning towards the audience, the small todd sang his heart out, ignoring the growing knot in his stomach. No, his mind was now on the misstep, and in the process of being distracted, he had missed a cue entirely.
The panic was setting in.
There was a misfire in one of the canons of fireworks and yet Kou smiled through it all, blinded by the lights that he couldn’t even see the audience. He had barely even seen any in the front row that he high-fived on his way across. Perhaps it was a blessing but it was also a curse, for even after the music stopped, the heavy breathing from putting on such a stunning show had ramped up his anxiety. Sure, he was catching his breath from dancing and singing, but it was also a panic attack. The audience couldn’t tell, but every Tart could.
He nearly forgot to bow.
Once able to exit stage left, Kou slipped past the others, almost bumping into them until he found a tree to hide behind, shoving his back firmly to it. Sinking down, hands pushed up to cover his face and simply focused on his breathing. Ears had pinned back and in truth, Kou hadn’t truly taken a moment to listen, his heart was pounding far too loud to hear anything beyond desperate breathing.
Everything was in ruin.
Had they figured it out? Had Ker and Kuji watched him fumble on stage? Had they realized what Kou was trying to do?
Breathe in.
Breathe out.
“Kou,” came a soft voice and soon a shifting weight was near the fox. “Hey,” the figure greeted and when golden eyes looked up, nearly on the verge of tears, Kon was revealed, bright smile and all.
“H-Heyo,” Kou cleared his throat, wiping his eyes as if he hadn’t just been on the edge of crying. He tried to smile in return but it faltered.
“I wanted to show you something,” Kon piped up and offered a set of photographs he’d just taken. There was a limited time before those golden eyes stopped working again and he felt it important for the hiding Vulpera to see.
“What is this..?” Taking the photographs carefully, he looked them over, one by one he studied each and the relief had begun to overtake his features. The tears he had been trying to hide simply fell in relief and that charming, loving smile returned to Kou’s face once more.

“It was amazing,” Kon chirped, bright and shiny like the heart of tenacity he was as an arm wrapped around Kou’s shoulders to tug the Vulpera close into a one-armed hug. No, he would not let the world see Kou’s tears, especially not tonight.
“Thank you, I… I needed to see these--” He was cut off as that arm hugged him and then and there, the stress faded away. Tiny arms clung onto Kon’s side, huffing again to try and calm down to find his words. “Thank you…” Kou sniffled, wiping his nose with the back of his hand after he finally let go because, at that moment, the fox suddenly understood.
Even if you mess up, no one will ever know.
Just say ‘yes’.
The answer was yes, it had always been yes.
And at the end of the night? Kou hugged both of his official boyfriends as tight as he could.

Lunathas Contracts

Breaking and entering, not something new for him but it was the first time he had done so with a client he was bodyguarding. The Howling Owl’s employee apartments were not hard to break into, especially when this one left the balcony door unlocked. With the shadows wrapped tightly around him he snuck in and did a full sweep to make sure the apartment was secure before letting Beaureve sneak inside too. Of course due to the sweep and the small size of the apartment it was easy to tell that noone was home.
It had been a few years since he and Konietzko had last spoken, this was not how he’d have guessed they’d reunite, if at all. It was also not in a place like this that he’d expect to find him. Keeping to the shadows he witnessed as his new client chose not to poke and prod around the apartment much at all but took right to the sofa and curled up. He had not been guarding him for long yet, but he did wonder if this sort of nuance was typical of him. They both waited in silence for the Kaldorei to arrive home and since he was hidden in the shadows himself, there was no conversation between him and his client. He watched as the time passed and Beaureve fell fast asleep on that sofa as if stress and current events in his life had caught up with him. It was well into the night when the door opened and Kon arrived home, stepping down the hallway and passing by the entryway right into the kitchen without even looking into the living room as why would he? He turned on a light in the kitchen and started a kettle making some tea as he began washing his hands. The shadow in the room witnessed his first look at the Kaldorei after this time without his knowing. He looked tired and a bit fatigued but not due to poor health. If anything his health seemed to have increased greatly since they last met. He must have just returned from some sort of physical activity as he was still a bit dark in the cheeks, chest and ears from a good workout and was tending to blisters on his hand. Interesting.
Beaureve was starting to wake from the sounds in the kitchen as Konietzko put the tea on the stove and started to walk into the living room, stopping dead in his tracks with a double take to the sofa when he saw the moving body of the Shal’dorei waking up from his nap. Stone steadied himself, tucked in the shadows just behind him ready to stop him at a moment’s indication he might try to harm his client. Beyond an understandable startle he didn’t, he just jerked and stared. “Took you long enough.” Beaureve said stifling a small yawn as he rubbed at his eyes. “I mean… welcome home.”
“Well, I am terribly sorry for the inconvenience!” Kon replied with a mix of humor and shock both as he looked Beaureve over closely before opting to go to the chair next to the sofa. “Had I known I was playing host I would not have stayed so late practicing my routine. Now tell me… to what do I owe the honor of this…” He motioned to the balcony. “... break-in?”
With a smirk breaking over his lips, Beaureve just smiled. “You are forgiven. This time.” He said perfectly aware he was in the wrong but calmly combed out his hair as he sat there pleasantly. “Well it’s my lucky day I suppose, you’ve taught me a valuable lesson.” Kon said walking then over to the balcony door and pulling aside the curtains slowly looking outside. He’d close the door then slowly, pursing his lips as if he was looking for something. “I need to invest in better locks, or lock the door at all it would seem.” He said somewhat bemused yet he turned around and looked about the room with a slow gaze of his amber eyes. “Practice? Routine? Mm, so you’re turning your aspirations into reality. That’s rather wonderful to hear.” Beaureve said as he watched. “And in my defense, I did try to knock on the door first. However, after coming all this way with noone to answer? It was in my best interest to see if there was a way to wait inside.” The priest said only telling part of the story but it was enough. “And with how many letters I had to write up in order to actually receive word and meeting arrangements… I preferred a more direct approach.” He smirked. “You don’t mind. We can speak a bit now.” the priest said not leaving this open ended.
Kon stepped back over to the couch then and would find the chair to sit in as he tried to piece this all together. “Perhaps you came here seeking Talthorn? He is here often lately I’ll admit but not when I’m gone.” He said eyeing the priest a little suspiciously but he was far calmer about it than Talthorn had been. “Did you seek my contact I gave you?” He asked resisting the urge to look around the room once more. “No. I am here to see you.” The priest says bluntly. “Yes. I did.” He replied to the latter question before moving right along. “Now we can officially make arrangements. As promised. When are you available?”
Kon stared at Beaureve and his audacity with a small smirk. “I suppose I can’t be upset considering how Talthorn did choose to ignore your letters till I found them. As much as I love him dearly he has his reasons for acting as he did. But I am not him.” He pointed out as he thought a moment before responding. “You did?” He redirected the conversation back to the point on the contact. “And did he accept?” Beaureve seemed pleasantly welcome to this information and eager to ask more. “Are these reasons that you are willing to share at all?” he asked before Kon redirected the conversation. “He did. Very interesting man. This contact of yours. We’ve made a good business arrangement. Thank you again for your recommendation. I aspire to have a meeting with my issue whenever he gets my word. In the next few days most likely.” Kon knew who he was talking about with this recent issue. Well he more knew -of- them from what Beaureve and Talthorn both had told him of that incident that left Beaureve wounded and carried to the healer’s ward after Talthorn had saved him. Even the shadow in the room knew the details enough to understand this comment and where it was going. “Talthorn’s secrets are his own to share. I will only say for whatever it’s worth that his… mistrust is a valid one.” Kon looked right to Beaureve then. “Even if you were not the cause for them, just a trigger. But that is all the more I will say. If you want trust or his truths? That’s going to take time Beaureve. Time, and a significant lack of your magic. But in that too I will say no more. I’ve only said this much in the interest of trying to make this easier. For both of you.” Kon explained rubbing at his palms and the ache within them as he sighed and looked to the side. “So, the contract was made. That is good, though forgive me if I wish to make certain.” Kon said oddly as he raised his head then and would stare Beaureve right in the eyes as he spoke out louder. “Show yourself, old friend.”
Beaureve listened closely and drew in a slow breath. He was taking much from these statements but why? Why was there mistrust?! The priest was eager to figure that out. When he realized what Kon had said just then, however, he added in his own command in case his bodyguard was truly as strict as not to do so unless ordered. “Hm? Oh. Of course. Yes, please reveal yourself, Stone.”
No sooner than Beau had given the command, the shadows against the far wall on the other side of the dining room table would start to shift and lift as soon a voice was heard before the body was seen. Where Kon’s voice was deep and full of bass, his was low but more crisp and sharp. “While some things never change, some things… do. It has been a time, Kon.” The bodyguard stood leaning against the wall in full gear head to toe. Blades on his side and no doubt many more hidden throughout his attire. His face was masked, as always and those eyes as cold as winter skies peered right back at Kon’s as they made eye contact across the room.
For one who’s home was being invaded, Kon certainly didn’t seem too worked up over it. As his amber eyes met Stone’s, they softened just a bit. A hint of a sad yet genuine smile almost shadowed along his face. How bittersweet this was. “Some things do indeed, though you are not one of those things I would ever ask to change. Please, come. Sit with us. You know he is in no danger here.” Kon said motioning to the couch next to Beaureve. Beaureve motioned to the couch as well. “Yes, join us.” He confirmed and watched the exchange between them, both seeming interested in this reunion between them. At first, Stone did not move. But eventually he pushed off form the wall to step over and stand at Beaureve’s side.
“Quite the place here, I see you’ve returned to the club scene afterall?” Stone quipped as he looked firmly down at Kon having already done his research on this place before they arrived.
"I have, though not intentionally at first. But after my seclusion from the world and the dream therapy it seems... I was ready to come back. Though certainly not with such old habits as I indulged in before. Of that... I endeavor to stray from as much as possible." His eyes then flicked to Beaureve well aware he was listening and oddly enough, he didn't seem to mind. ``I think you'll come to agree in no time at all that Sivah would have liked this one. Perhaps even -you- will." He playfully smirked towards Stone.
Beaureve enjoyed collecting the information he could, seeing how they both reacted with one another. He wears his smile and finds the details intriguing but blinks at the mention here. "Sivah? Who is that? And why would they like me? " he tips his head and looks back to Stone. Stone met his gaze. “Sivandris Lumenstone, owner of the Starcaller Lure and heir to the Lumenstone Estate.” He told him as if just reciting information. “He had a way about collecting rare gems, like yourself. And each of them came with their own troubles that I always had the privilege of helping sort.” And that was all the more Stone seemed willing to share. As Stone had decided that was all the more that needed said, Kon and Beaureve spent the rest of the night discussing how their arrangement would work. As Talthorn was to give Beaureve a date of his choosing once a month, Kon would under the same rules to help make up for Talthorn’s lack of his part of the deal in the beginning of their original arrangement. By doing so Talthorn would have the ease that Beaureve would no longer be trying to sell his rare drug to anyone of the Tarts nor of the Owl so long as it was a function put on by either group or when in Talthorn’s presence. It was an exchange no one would ever know even had taken place, all for the comfort that Talthorn could protect his friends and fellow entertainers from this mind-altering drug that he had no power to stop him from creating. However, Kon saw it fit by the end of this meeting here in his home to call Beaureve out. To him, this seemed like an overly complicated agreement in contract that they would be meeting as friends to do things that friends would willingly do without a contract because they were… friends? But to Beaureve that was not the case at all. He could not understand the concept of friends so to him this was a contract and he expected it to be upheld. Despite having his point made, Kon agreed and pushed the subject no longer. The entire exchange was witnessed by Stone, but he said nothing during it. Just observed in complete silence as he did for most his guard detail he’d signed on for with Beaureve. It was not his job to state his thoughts nor opinions on any matters Beaureve had to deal with. It was only his job to ensure his safety. Thankfully, one could do that with very little said as he was not one for idle conversation. Ever. But he did not think he’d be meeting Kon again, let alone under such circumstances. It was interesting how life had a way of bringing things left unresolved back around. Even among former friends. Stone came to realize much had changed for the Kaldorei, not all but there was something very significant that he noticed right away in Kon that had not been there before. He’d come a long way on the road to recovery, and in doing so had begun truly turning his life around for the better. While Stone did not intend to be his ‘friend’ at that time and just to let everything go and move on, he was curious enough to see just where this would all lead for his current client’s future. Beaureve had alot to experience now in his ‘free’ life. Stone wasn’t so certain that experiencing it through Kon and the others he was associated with was the best way, but he wasn't paid to give his thoughts nor opinions on those matters either. They were invalid. At that time, he had only one job to do. And when the threat returned, he would do it. After that, the priest was on his own.
“Next week. At the same point we met before in Suramar. Wear something similar to that. You seem very comfortable. I’ll take care of the rest.” Beuareve said to the expectant Kaldorei as he rose to leave. Kon took a slow breath in and let it back out as he nodded his head once. “A word to the wise Beaureve, what Talthorn and I want is not always what others think. But I can easily see the same could be said for you.” The Kaldorei’s eyes shifted back to Stonel then. “You are going to have your hands full with this one.” Stone drew his gaze to Kon, “You’ve never been one to make my job easy. But we both know, that is where I thrive.” “Oh I do.” Kon said with a laugh and a smirk to follow as he watched them both turn to leave. “It will be quite the… learning experience.” He teased at Beaureve before flashing Stone a knowing look. As usual, he got no response from Stone, just that stone-faced stare before he turned away and escorted Beaureve out. “Next week then.” Kon said as he watched them go and looked to the couch in thought. Maybe he would omit that part to Talthorn; he doubted his love would ever be able to let go the thought of Beaureve breaking into his apartment. What a little shit.
((A former rp from last year recapped in a shorter format though it still includes both our writing. A fun look at the beginnings of Talthorn, Kon, Beaureve and Rami’s friendship that few know about. While the rp has gone places none of us could imagine at that time, it has been a real trip to reflect back to this rp and the reunion of Kon and Stone as witnessed by Beau. Mentions too @beaureve-lunathas , @talthorn-sylvoran , @konietzko-lumenstone ))
