We are pleased to announce ten new Associate Partners: Max Bauer, Tommaso Bitossi, Christian Frenzel, Daniel Kiehlmann, Markus Krauß, Raphael Lafargue, Jochen Lam, Krista Palen, Matthias Rammig and Felix Thumm, who will acquire shares in Transsolar and Transplan in the near future.
This expansion of the existing group of shareholders to include younger Transsolarians forms the basis for a generational change in the management of the company. The current shareholders and Managing Directors, together with the group of new Associate Partners, are embarking on the exciting journey of the new generation gradually taking over responsibility and management tasks.
A consulting and facilitation team of employees is organizing and supporting this long-term transition. The process involves more than formal succession; it is also about how our company evolves while carrying the Transsolar DNA into the future. With the ten new Associate Partners, we begin to diversify and build a solid foundation on which the generational transition can advance in a continuous and open way.
We look forward to our continuing collaboration.
For the entire Transsolar team, Thomas Auer, Volkmar Bleicher, Stefan Holst, Erik Olsen, Dieter Schnelle, Matthias Schuler (Managing Directors)

Greenbuild 2018 Loyola Chicago Sustainability Tour
SCB, Loyola University Chicago, Elara and Transsolar teamed up at Greenbuild Chicago 2018 with a tour of their 3 world-class naturally ventilated buildings on campus: The Institute of Environmental Studies (IES), Information Commons and Cuneo Hall. Transsolar’s Krista Palen was on campus to show the tour participants how each building uses unique strategies to address energy, human comfort, and natural ventilation in different ways while sharing one significant core toolkit: hybrid ventilation, daylight, radiant heating and cooling.
The Institute of Environmental Studies demonstrates how     a university building can successfully combine a greenhouse, a student     residence and science laboratories in one building.
The Information Commons shows how it is possible to     make a challenging building orientation work passively through climate     engineering. The super transparent design was important to Loyola to offer     students a strong visual connection to the adjacent Lake Michigan.
Cuneo Hall is an exemplar building that achieves super     low energy in a traditional collegiate style of architecture. The building     features a high thermal performance façade, radiant panels and an atrium     which provides daylight through the length of the building.

Hybrid ventilation systems...
Tumblr media
Together with Jason Ciotti-Niebish and Kit Elsworth from KieranTimberlake,
Krista Palen
will talk about Transsolar's part in "Designing a Hybrid Ventilation System for Occupant Comfort and Energy Savings" at the Sustainability Symposium on Friday May 3rd 2019 held at Penn State in Philadelphia.
The Session will take place 12:45 - 1:45 pm (Session 3) and the content is described as followed:
"Hybrid ventilation systems can improve interior working conditions while also reducing energy consumption. This presentation will describe the experimental process of designing a hybrid system within a retrofit industrial building. In 2015, KieranTimberlake adapted a pre-existing bottling factory into its new Philadelphia studio. With intent to minimize reliance on mechanical cooling, they engaged Transsolar to design a control strategy that would provide effective hybrid natural ventilation while balancing occupant comfort and energy consumption. Transsolar developed a model that was calibrated using comprehensive building performance data collected by KieranTimberlake. This strategy allowed Transsolar to iterate modes of operation with comparative results relative to occupant comfort and energy consumption. This presentation will discuss the process and technical aspects surrounding the design and implementation of this system. It will explore lessons learned through trial-and-error and simulation. The principles derived from this case study can be applied to projects at multiple scales and locations."
