Silly Little Goose
Original post November 11th, 2023 (x)
“You know,” Childe starts as he keeps Kyomi’s feet to the ground while she does sit ups, “you keep calling me all these silly nicknames, but I don’t have one for you.”
“Yeah? What about it?” Kyomi pauses as she sits, tilting her head at him.
“Hey, no break yet.” Childe playfully pushes her down a little, and she snorts as she resumes her training. “I was just thinking that I should have at least some kind of nickname for you, too. But I can’t really find one.”
“Well,” Kyomi grunts, finishing the last sit up of the set. “It depends on what way you wanna go. My older sibling turned Kyomi into Kymi. But if you wanna use Danya, you could go for a-Ya or Ya-er.”
“Doesn’t Zhongli call you Liu-er?”
“Yeah. With liu for willow. Long story.”
“Hm. None of those feel right, though.” Childe collapses on the ground next to her, taking her hand in his.
“Honestly? You could call me a silly little goose for all I care. A rose by any other name, and all.”
Childe makes a thoughtful noise before suddenly looking at her, confusion clear in his eyes.
“A rose by any other name? What’s that mean?”
“Uh…” Kyomi hesitates, tilting her head. “Give me a sec to remember the full quote. It’s from a play.” She taps her leg, trying to remember. “Something like ‘that which we know as a rose, by any other name would smell as sweet’ I think?”
“So basically… A name doesn’t matter because it’s still the same thing?”
“At least how I interpret it, yeah.” Kyomi nods.
“Well then, my silly little goose.” Childe grins, pinching her nose. “Thank you for educating me.”

FASCINATING !!
ARATAKI ITTO X READER | INCLUDES ITTO STORY SPOILERS, BUT OTHER THAN THAT YOU'RE SAFE WORD COUNT : 2.8K
every time he comes accross my mind, i fall in love with him even more
Tumblr media
Arataki Itto.
He's an interesting guy - to you at least, but you doubt you're the only one who finds him like that, after all, he's basically pretty out there.
From his loud, booming voice whining whenever he lost that game that involved onikabuto with the children, it was fascinating - not to mention hilarious. He's a fully grown man, hell an even terrifying-looking one because of his tall and muscular body, if he didn't have that goofy smile plastered on his face 24/7 then he'd definitely be feared and taken more seriously by the citizens of Inazuma. (As if Kujou Sara hasn't arrested him on the spot several times.)
You even saw him walking around the city, his usually crimson-colored horns now painted... A colorful rainbow? He even had the traveler accompanying him by his side, awkwardly smiling at the oni. It certainly made you chuckle while going on your usual routine.
You weren't necessarily a part of his gang, but he claims that you are - not that you mind, really. You only really stay around him and the gang because of Shinobu, who you're close friends with. You didn't mind his company whenever you and Shinobu would hang out, in fact - you enjoyed it, the more the merrier after all.
There were times when Shinobu couldn't accompany you, and those times would often be replaced with the oni. Doing whatever you two could to kill some time, and it usually consisted of beetle fights. If you didn't know how to play his so-called tournaments, well now you do - even without as much 'experience', you still manage to win more often than him. (And sometimes you wonder if he's doing this on purpose or not.)
You also got to know him a little better, about the gang, his personal life, and the origins of the onis - specifically the differences between the red and blue tribes. It fascinated you. How someone like him lives such a complicated life, yet shrugged it off as if it were nothing. You saw the way he protected Takuya, risking his life to protect the blue oni. He didn't just protect Takuya, but also a bunch of other people, and that included you - words cannot describe just how thankful you are to him.
He's just the kind of guy that someone needs in their life whenever they're in a complete state of conflict from within. Arataki Itto - the guy whose always willing to help someone - even if they're a complete stranger.
He wasn't like the rumors the citizens of Inazuma kept spreading in the city at all.
"I guess Arataki Itto isn't so bad after all."
You spoke out when you thought you were far away from the said man, smiling softly - but unbeknownst to you, he heard you, and a soft smile found his way to his lips.
Orange hues danced in the sky, the sun setting and he watched as your figure becomes smaller from his sight, disappearing into the city.
"I guess bein' with ya isn't so bad after all too, Y/N."

Sand everywhere
Original post July 22nd, 2023 (x)
“Wait,” Cyno suddenly commands, coming to a stop. “Where’s Kyomi?”
The question makes everyone stop in their tracks better than the command, looking around for their missing member.
She’s not missing for very long, though, as she comes trudging up the sand dune soon enough, covered in sand. “I slipped.” Is her explanation as Isak tries to stifle laughter.
“You… Slipped.” Cyno doesn’t sound very impressed, and Kyomi grimaces.
“Everything’s loose, here, and I am blind. Not the best combination.”
“You should’ve told Paimon! Paimon could have kept watch for you!”
“Never mind that, are you alright?” Dehya swipes some of the sand off Kyomi, ‘sneakily’ checking for injuries.
“Yeah, it was just a tumble. But it did show me I definitely prefer the water kind of ocean to the sand kind of ocean. I mean, fall off a boat and you’re wet. Sure, annoying, but you’ll dry up soon enough. Fall here, and you’re covered in sand, and the sand is everywhere, and you will never ever get rid of it again,” Kyomi huffs, crossing her arms.
“That’s why you gotta be careful,” Isak giggles, helping Dehya get the sand off.
Kyomi feels something inside her soften as she hears him enjoy himself, glad that he’s got his mind off his grandpa now, even if she had to be a fool for it.
“When the two of you give up on the futile task of getting her sand free, we should probably start moving again.” Alhaitham is keeping his distance, clearly not interested in dealing with more sand than he already has to.
“I’ll just shake myself off like a dog when we get back.” Kyomi shrugs, patting Isak’s head as she starts walking. “Let’s go, we’ve still got some walking to do.”

Interrupted Activities
Original post June 3rd, 2023 (x)
“And remember to be careful.” Cyno gives her a warning look as she moves towards the door, and Kyomi snorts.
“Yessir,” she mocks, barely able to put her hand on the doorknob before Cyno is backing her into a wall.
“You really wanna give me an attitude? That’s really the path you wanna go down?” There’s an amused glint in his eyes, and Kyomi grins.
“You heard me, didn’t you?” She raises a hand to push him back, but he’s got it against the wall immediately.
“Oh, you’re gonna regret that.” It’s nearly a purr as he leans closer, his face in her neck.
She can just feel his teeth graze her neck when the door opens, startling him into biting down. Hard.
“Shit, Kyomi, I’m sorry, are you okay?” He pulls back, blood on his teeth and eyes worried.
“What are you two doing?” Tighnari asks behind him, and Kyomi starts giggling.
“You scared him, ‘Nari.” She prods at the bite, the scent of her own blood strong. “And I’m fine, Cyno, it didn’t hurt that bad.”
“Why are you even doing it this close to the door? What if Collei had walked in instead?” Tighnari sighs, frustrated, as he gently moves Cyno to the side to check on the bite. “Stop prodding it, you’re gonna make it worse.”
Tighnari bats her hand to the side, gently touching the bite. “So, doc? When am I gonna die?”
He gives her a flat look, shaking his head. “It’s already healing and you know it. Cyno, get a wet cloth so I can clean the skin, please. And you should probably drink some water to make sure you get rid of all the blood in your mouth.”
“On it.” Cyno quickly moves to the kitchen, clearly relieved it’s nothing serious.
“And you need to stop challenging Cyno in places where Collei can walk into the two of you.” Tighnari flicks Kyomi’s forehead with his clean hand.
“Yes, sir.” This time, Kyomi says it with much less sarcasm.

Interesting time for joking
Original post May 20th, 2023 (x)
“Hey, Kyomi,” Cyno says, looking down at them from where he’s straddling their hips.
“Yeah?” They flush a bit at just how breathless their answer is, but, well. They did just spar with Cyno, and now… Well…
“What did the toaster say to the slice of bread?” A grin forms on his face, and Kyomi closes their eyes in defeat. “I want you inside me.”
It’s a bad joke. It’s a very bad joke, and it should not be funny, god damnit, especially not when they’re about to fuck. But Kyomi’s sense of humor is about as broken as Cyno’s, so they can’t help the way they start chuckling. “And who’s the slice of bread here?”
“Why, the prettiest person around, obviously!” Cyno ducks down to give them a kiss, looking incredibly proud of himself.
Kyomi feels themself flush a bit more, but they’ve never been one to stay silent, and since they’re in Avidya Forest… “Tighnari? He’s busy with his research, good luck getting him away from that.”
Cyno exaggeratedly shudders on top of them which- does produce some stimulation, and Kyomi nearly moans. “I’ve learned my lesson regarding that long ago. Don’t ever disturb ‘Nari when he’s busy with research. But you and I both know he isn’t who I meant.” Cyno taps Kyomi’s chest a few times with a warning look.
“Okay, okay, I get it.” They smile, 'trapping’ his hand against their chest with one of their own. It’s warm against their skin, reminding them that Cyno is 100% alive.
Cyno smiles back before he smoothly stands up, ridding himself of his pants. Before Kyomi can do the same, though, he kneels over their hips, tugging their pants down to just below their ass. “What’s the difference between kinky and perverted?”
“Oh god,” Kyomi starts their groan, “Cynnnoo-” although the reason for the groan changes halfway through his name, as he sinks down on them like an expert.
“Kinky is tickling your partner with a feather. Perverted is when you use the whole bird.” Cyno doesn’t sound entirely unaffected as he speaks, sending a spike of heat through Kyomi even as they laugh again.
“Are you really gonna be telling awful jokes the entire time?” They grin, hands finding their way to Cyno’s hips.
“Obviously. I like hearing your laugh.” The smile he gives them is soft, sweet. “And like this you can’t get away either.” They both chuckle, although for Kyomi it’s closer to a giggle.
“God, you’re so awful. I don’t get how 'Nari puts up with you.” They lightly push at his chest, the movement causing him to rock slightly on them, making them moan.
“Well, I try not to tell him these jokes in bed. What does a perverted frog say?” Cyno lifts himself up before going down again, grinding down when he’s fully seated.
“Ah- fuck- I don’t know, Cyno, what does a perverted frog say?”
“Rubbit.”
The rest of the evening is filled with plenty of cackling and moaning, and a lot of sighs after Tighnari finishes his work for the day.
But, sometimes his 'comedian’ deserves his fun too.

Tree of knowledge
Original post March 18th, 2023 (x)
“Oh? Mmm! What a lovely smell!” Kyomi raises an eyebrow at Paimon, not smelling anything. “It’s coming from that censer over there. This is definitely not your typical place to call home, but at least it smells nice! Hmm, maybe living here wouldn’t be too bad after all…”
Then, all at once, the smell hits Kyomi, her vision fizzling out as her head starts pounding.
“Huh, what’s the matter? You don’t look too good.” Paimon’s voice just makes the ache worse as Kyomi stumbles a few steps back.
“Something… Isn’t… Right…” she manages to get out through everything.
“What? Is the smell making you feel sick? Strange, Paimon doesn’t feel anything…”
Kyomi turns, trying to get out and get away, but before she can, everything goes black, Paimon’s panicked voice fading away.
Suddenly everything comes back into focus again, and Kyomi is left staring at a gigantic tree. It’s almost iridescent, the red sky behind it only adding to the effect, and she can’t help but whistle, starting to walk onto one of the roots.
When she gets to the highest point of the root however, the world starts shaking, rocks falling down.
One of the rocks hits the root right in front of her, breaking it in two. She starts to glide down her half, pushing herself off to land on another root a bit beneath her.
That can’t be good.
Kyomi can hear a voice in front of her, now, not yet clear enough to be understood, but definitely there. So, she does what she does best. She gets curious and starts to follow.
The closer she gets to the tree, the harder the wind seems to blow. When she thinks she can’t get much further, the voice is suddenly clear.
“World… Forget me…”
Something starts shining brightly, and then everything is black again, Paimon’s voice the first sign that Kyomi’s back where she’s supposed to be.
“Prepare yourselves. I’m going to transport you into Irminsul.” Nahida gives them a nod, and Kyomi nods back. This should go better than the first time, at least.
His vision fades, and then he’s staring at Irminsul again, this time healthy. “Wow… It looks pretty different here compared to last time. The colors are gentler… Guess that must be because Sumeru’s at peace now.” Paimon comments, and Kyomi smiles. It’s good.
He starts walking, seeing Scaramouche stick out like a sore thumb. “Look at that, hot on my heels. You know, you didn’t have to cut your catch-up short just to keep me company. Oh, but I guess you panicked when you realized that I might enter Irminsul ahead of you.” Scaramouche only turns his head a little, not even looking at them.
“Oh, I don’t care if you do, Nahida just sent me to babysit you.” Kyomi jogs the last few steps so he’s standing next to Scaramouche.
“Shut your beak, jailbird! No way a prisoner gets to be so smug!” Paimon crosses her arms, seeming hesitant to get closer to Scaramouche.
“I understand that prisoners have to put up with harassment from the guards, but right now, I’m on temporary release, so maybe you should think about backing off a little.”
Ah, Kyomi can tell what this is going to be like.
“Sounds like a successful rendezvous,” Nahida comments from wherever, and Kyomi snorts. That’s one way to look at it. “I need to be quite clear about something. In a few moments, you’ll be entering into the innermost region of Irminsul. It is an environment like no other, and the most important place in all of Sumeru.
"Unlike anywhere else, Irminsul’s inner region consists exclusively of torrents of information. You must put aside your differences and be extremely careful as you navigate your way through. I know there are many grievances between you on both sides, but it is essential that you calm after entry. This is as much for your own safety as anything else.”
“… Fine, let’s call a truce, but only until this mission’s over…” Paimon reluctantly agrees with Nahida.
“Let’s cut each other a little slack, shall we? We are gonna be traveling together, after all.”
“I’m looking forward to it!” Kyomi grins at the annoyed look Scaramouche shoots him for interrupting.
“Per my agreement with Lesser Lord Kusanali, I’ll be at the front. It’s my job to lead the way and get rid of any obstacles in our path. All you have to do is keep your pretty eyes open and try not to fall behind.”
“Aww, you think my eyes are pretty?” Kyomi flutters his lashes at Scaramouche, easily taking the light shove he gets as reward. Yeah that’s deserved. Luckily Paimon doesn’t notice.
“You sure are confident, Paimon’ll give you that. You make it sound like you’re even more experienced at adventuring than us!”
“If there are no further objections, I suggest we get going. Or did you need some time to mentally prepare yourselves?” Although he says it with his usual snark, Kyomi can sense that he’s genuine here. “You…!” Paimon starts working herself up, and Kyomi tugs on her cape to distract her.
“No, we’re fine. Thank you for the consideration.”
“… Hmph.” He glances at Kyomi before looking up at the sky. “We can start now.”
“Irminsul access granted. Initiating connection procedure…” Nahida’s voice echoes through the space, and they enter Irminsul through the small red sapling before them.
Kyomi can’t shake the feeling as they enter that something bad is going to happen, but he’ll see where this goes.

No need for insecurities
Original post March 10th, 2023 (x)
Kyomi hesitates, their hands hovering over the bottom of her shirt.
“What’s wrong?” Venti sits up beneath them, perceptive as always. He reaches up with his right hand, gently cupping Kyomi’s cheek. “You know you can back out at any time if you’re uncomfortable, yes?”
“I- I do.” Kyomi sags a little, pressing into Venti’s hand. “I’m not uncomfortable, just- insecure? I guess?”
“About what?” Venti’s left arm sneaks around Kyomi’s waist, a warm and reassuring pressure.
“I. Have a lot of scars in this form. But it’s too much energy right now to go into my other form. And I just. I don’t know.”
“I see.” Venti nods, squeezing Kyomi’s waist. “Let me undress you?”
“Alright…”
Venti is gentle as he starts lifting Kyomi’s shirt, hands just barely trailing over their skin. When he lifts it over her head, their arms raised to help him, he takes his chance to press a kiss to one of the more prominent scars, making Kyomi freeze.
“Your scars do nothing to diminish your worth or beauty, Kyomi. I promise,” he whispers against her skin, dropping their shirt to the side of the bed. “And you’re not the only one with scars. Here, feel.” He gently tugs one of their arms down, leading her hand to his chest.
On the right side, they can feel the raised skin. It’s long and jagged, and just feeling it makes Kyomi protective, ready to fight anyone who dares hurt Venti.
“If even a celestial body like mine can bear scars, why would it be bad for a mortal body like yours to bear them? As much as everyone here likes to think of you as a god, you were still born part human. They just show how much you’ve survived.”
“Well, I didn’t survive all of it.” Kyomi can’t help but give a tiny smile, hands settling on Venti’s hips. “Still, I suppose you’re right. As annoying as it is.”
Venti laughs, a delighted joyful sound that fills Kyomi with warmth as they relax more. “Of course I’m right, I’m a god,” he teases, pressing a soft kiss to her lips.
“Try getting someone like Diluc to believe that.” They smile, reaching up to carefully cup Venti’s cheeks, not wanting to hurt someone as soft as him with her calloused hands. “But for now, I’ll accept it.”
“Good.” He places his hands over theirs for a second before he lets them trail down their body, exploring as he goes. Some of the more prominent scars he follows, but when he comes to That Name, he moves over it in an entirely different pattern. It’s almost like…
“Did you just write your name?” It’s the best guess she has, with everything combined.
“I did.” Venti smiles against their shoulder, doing it again before his hands drop to their belt. “Go up a bit?”
Kyomi follows his directions, getting partially of his lap so he can unbuckle and pull down her pants to just above her knees.
“And now down, and-” Venti doesn’t finish his sentence, gently lowering Kyomi onto their back so he can remove her pants entirely. “Perfect.” He leans down, pressing a kiss against Kyomi’s stomach. “You’re being perfect for me, my pretty little demon.”
His words make butterflies go wild in Kyomi’s stomach, and to fight her flush, she raises an eyebrow. “Little? Now, I know I’m not the tallest, but I’m not that much smaller than you.”
“Maybe not,” Venti concedes with a laugh. “But you are still smaller, and you look so fragile.” He squeezes their waist, as if to punctuate his words.
Kyomi can’t really argue with that, so they look to the side, hoping their hair will cover some of the flush. Venti’s laugh lets her know it doesn’t, but if that’s what she gets for it, the extra embarrassment is worth it.
He presses another soft kiss to their lips, pulling back briefly only to dive back in with a more passionate kiss.
Only once he’s left Kyomi breathless does he back down, kissing down her neck, and then her chest, and then Kyomi moans as Venti does something clever with his tongue.
He pulls back a little, and Kyomi can feel his stare on her face, is almost certain he’s grinning. “Just trust me and enjoy the ride, okay?” And with those words, he dives right back in to bring them as close to Celestia as he can.

A surprisingly nice boat trip
Original post March 4th, 2023 (x)
“Ah, the sea and the sun, my two most favorite things ever,” Kyomi says as she leans on the railing, listening to Venti entertain some of the crew on the other side of the ship.
“Oh really.” She whips her head around, seeing Beidou approach with a smirk. “I don’t think I’m ever gonna get used to your eyes,” she sighs in amusement, coming to a stop next to Kyomi. “Never woulda pegged you as the type to like the sea and sun.” The sarcasm in her voice almost reaches the level in Kyomi’s.
“Oh, yes, I absolutely love the ball of fire that is constantly overstimulating me while I’m just trying to go about my day. And they’re just slitted, cap'n. No biggie, right?”
“The first time I saw you they were normal and a different colour. That’s the big deal.” Beidou ruffles Kyomi’s hair, returning it to the bed head look she’d just gotten rid of. “So why don’t you like the sea, then?”
“… Honestly, I’m not sure I don’t like it anymore.” Kyomi pushes herself onto the railing, sitting with her back to the water. “When I was younger and had started losing my sight- I don’t know, it just felt bad. I wasn’t exactly seasick, but I had basically no balance. You know how babies start walking and keep falling? Something like that. But now… It’s not even the fact that I can see now. It suddenly just feels like the sea is… Safe.”
“Well, of all the things the sea is, I can assure ya, safe is not one of them.” Beidou laughs, a hand on Kyomi’s thigh to help anchor her. “Maybe a bit safer now that you’ve gotten rid of Osial, though.”
“Oh my god, I think I figured it out.” Kyomi grins, feeling the mostly dormant power in her shift a bit as she pokes it. She absorbed his power, and essentially took his place in the Teyvat pantheon. Of course she would feel safer at sea now.
“Oh? Anything to share with the class?” Beidou raises an eyebrow, seeming intrigued.
“Once I’ve tested my hypothesis, sure.”

Nightmare
Original post October 15th, 2022 (x)
With a gasp Kyomi wakes up, the nightmare not leaving her mind for even a second. The pain as Sensei carved his name into her skin, the blood running everywhere as he vivisected her, the horrible sounds as he broke all her-
Sitting up, Kyomi is immediately surrounded by strong arms and the scent of Qingxin flowers, and she can finally breathe properly.
“It’s okay,” Xiao whispers, pulling her close until she can listen to his steady heartbeat. “You’re not there. You’re safe. He can’t hurt you anymore.”
He continues to whisper reassurances as he strokes her hair, and Kyomi buries her face in his chest, quietly crying. It’s been 60 years since she killed Sensei, and he still plagues her mind.
Any time she overuses the power he gave her she can hear his voice, and all the nightmares…
60 years… She should be over it by now, shouldn’t she? And yet… So often when she closes her eyes… She’s back in the lab where it all started.
“It’s okay, meimei.” Xiao’s voice pulls her back to the present. “I’ve got you. I won’t let anyone hurt my meimei.”
Kyomi can’t help but smile through the tears. “Thank you, Xiao-ge,” she manages to say, even if it sounds a little choked.
“Mn,” is his response, apparently satisfied now that she’s talking again. He doesn’t let her go, though, keeping her safe and warm against him as he shifts into a better position, so she can go back to sleep if she wants.

That's it?
Original post September 30th, 2022 (x)
“Oh, come on! There has to be more to it than that!” Venti whines, clinging to Kyomi’s arm.
Kyomi just shrugs in response. “I don’t know what else to tell you. I got sucked into the mindscape, fought Ei, Miko appeared, I ascended.”
Xiao gives a disbelieving grunt from the side, turning his head to give them A LookTM.
“What happened to make Yae Miko appear?” Venti presses, squeezing their arm tighter.
“Okay, so, I was fighting Ei,” they say, Venti humming in agreement. “And. You remember that weird thing she gave me? The… Omamori, I think? It fell out of my pocket just as I tried to dodge a slash at my throat - it kinda got me, but not too bad, so it healed in a few seconds - and it started sparkling, and then Miko was there! And they talked - argued? - for a bit. So I don’t think either of them noticed the fact that my throat was kaput for a bit.”
“See, there we go! Finally some details,” Venti teases, sticking his tongue out. “Okay, so we got the Yae Miko part. Now, the ascension?”
“Uhhh- you know how I told you that in That world, you gotta do something big, and then you ascend? Positive, negative, doesn’t matter, it’s just. Gotta be big. Gotta affect stuff. And after that, the more people believe in you, the more powerful you become, essentially.”
“I remember, yeah.” Venti nods, finally letting go of Kyomi’s arm.
“Okay, so, then Miko somehow got some sort of access to all those stolen visions? And she basically… Channelled their determination through me. And apparently that’s close enough to whatever part of believing makes a god more powerful, and it broke through that part of the seal - so I became a god again, AKA I ascended.” Kyomi finishes their story by clapping their hands together once.
“See, now I actually understand what happened. Was it really that hard to explain?”
“Yeah.”

Interlude: Promise
Original post September 3rd, 2022 (x)
“-not to mention the fact that you could die. Again.” Venti looks stressed as he tries to keep Kyomi from finding the Shogun.
“I mean, is that really a way it would go wrong?” Kyomi shrugs, a lopsided smile on her face as she tries not to feel sorry for Venti, or Xiao (even as he pretends he doesn’t care, pretends she could be torn to pieces and he would shrug and never think of her again), but… this is something she has to do. “Last time I died I came back too, and this time I’m really… really a Ghost King.”
“That doesn’t mean you should die again! What if this time is different? What if this time when you die, you don't… don’t come back to us…” Venti trails off briefly, tears gathered in his eyes. “And not to mention the things I haven’t even thought of yet-!”
“Venti.” Kyomi drops the lopsided smile, reaching out to touch his shoulder. At the same time, she used her right hand to grab Xiao’s, giving it a squeeze and not letting go after. It’s very telling that he doesn’t pull away. “I know. You don’t have to spell out, or count the ways it could go wrong. I know. It’s not the first time I’m up against a powerful god. But…”
Kyomi sighs, eyes moving around restlessly, even though she’s not wearing glasses and can’t see shit. “If I don’t do this, who will? If I don’t face her, who will be brave enough? Is there even anyone else she would swallow up in her mind place?” She swallows, forcing herself to look Venti in the eyes. “I’m the only one who can do this, and so I have to. Because if I don’t, more people will get hurt. More visions will be stolen. I can't… I can’t just not at least try to stop it.”
Venti tenses during her little speech, but Xiao relaxes, moving closer until their shoulders brush. “Promise that you will come back.” His voice is softer than usual, and Kyomi turns her head to smile at him.
“I promise, Xiao. I will find a way back, no matter what. Nothing has been enough to hold me back from my loved ones before, and it won’t start being enough now.” She very gently bonks her head against his before looking at Venti again. “I mean it. Nothing will keep me from coming back to you. Even if I have to rip apart the fabric of reality, I will be back. And that’s a fucking threat.”
The sound Venti makes is somewhere between a laugh and a sob, and he wraps his arms around her waist, burying his head in her chest. “Okay. I believe you.”

“You- I saw you die with my own eyes!” Signora looks as if she’s seen a ghost when Kyomi enters the Northland Bank, which, well… He supposes isn’t too inaccurate.
Still, he’s not getting into that right now, so he widens his eyes, faking surprise. “You did?” He looks at Paimon, who looks at him like he’s grown an extra head. “Well, have you ever considered getting glasses, Signora? I can assure you I’m very much alive.”
Signora starts shaking, whether in fear or in rage, Kyomi doesn’t know. “Your pulse was gone! There was a massive hole in your chest!”
“Oh my, that sounds awfully deadly. Are you sure you didn’t hallucinate? I think we can all agree there’s no hole in my chest, and I doubt something like that would heal.”

Ashes
Original post April 17th, 2022 (x)
Kyomi fidgets a bit before nodding to herself. Yeah, she’s definitely gonna do this, and she’s not gonna be like gege or Xuan-ge, because she will tell Venti what she’s giving him.
“Ventiii!” Kyomi happily calls out to him as she runs (it’s just jogging for her, really) over, her ponytail bouncing with her steps.
“Kyomi!” He grins as she hugs him, finally over his anger with the whole ‘killed and resurrected’ thing she went through.
“Hey, Venti, you know how I said a while ago that I trust you with my life?” The question makes him pull away, eyes wary as he nods. “Well, now I’m really gonna do just that!” She easily slips the bracelet onto his wrist, appreciating the sight of the white and gold on his skin, a clear claim to the demon part of her mind, making it purr in contentment. Is it bad that she’s so possessive of her friend? Probably, but he doesn’t seem to mind.
“What’s this?” Venti tilts his wrist to view it at different angles, obviously not getting what’s so big about this, how she’d be trusting him with her life with this. Of course not. It’s something from an entirely different world.
“Well, remember how I told you I’m a Ghost King? And how other Ghost Kings have ashes, which if destroyed is the end for them? But I was an exception? Well, not anymore.” She shrugs at his incredulous look. “Apparently I was more mortal in this world than ever before, and got ashes. And, well, I thought you’d be the best at keeping them safe.” She gives him a soft smile, scratching the back of her neck.
“You’re… Really trusting me, with your life?” Venti’s voice is barely even a whisper, his touch to the bracelet light and reverent.
“Yeye!” She happily nods. “Sure, I could ask someone like Jean, or Diluc, or Xiao, or even Zhongli, but I trust you! Also, it will probably be more of an incentive for you to stay out of trouble than my worry alone, although that isn’t why I’m doing it.”
“You’re really trusting me to keep the source of your continued life safe?”
“Venti…” Kyomi gives a fond sigh, shaking her head. “I said I trust you with my life, and I meant it. I know you’re not just gonna destroy my ashes. I know you’ll try your hardest to defend them.” She shrugs, spreading her hands. “What more could I ask for?”
Venti doesn’t answer, just tackling her in a hug. And if Kyomi can feel her crop top getting wet, that’s no one’s business.

Cheesy Love
Original post April 8th, 2022 (x)
Kyomi quietly hums to herself as she looks out over the sea, golden eyes reflecting a little too much light for it to be considered human. Her time in Teyvat has been an adventure and a half, so far (or rather, 3 big adventures with many small ones mixed in), but at least it hasn’t been boring.
Her pointed ears perk up as she hears Venti approach, but seeing as he isn’t saying anything yet, she just continues to hum. He’ll talk when he wants to. Which, knowing the bard, will be sooner rather than later. He really can’t stay quiet for long.
“Ahhh, don’t mind me, keep humming.” He finally comes closer, leaning against the wall Kyomi is sitting on. Seeing as that all he says, she does as asked, shifting from songs she’s heard in taverns in Teyvat to songs she grew up with, and everything in between.
About half an hour later Venti hops onto the wall, smiling at her. “I sure do love listening to the sound of light.”
Kyomi tilts her head in confusion as she looks up at him. “The… Sound…?” It’s not like she hummed any song with that name, so what is he talking about?
“Mhm! The sound of the light of my life!” He grins and gives her a wink, eyes bright with joy.
“Light of- oh my god you cheesy bastard-"She scrambles to stand up as he steps back, giggling at her red cheeks. "Get your ass over here, I’m boutta make Mondstadt an archonless city for real-"
Venti runs and glides away with a gleeful laugh as Kyomi follows, cheeks still red as she softly smiles.
Venti really is something, huh?
