This also kind of fits one of the subthemes for RivaMika month week 5, K-pop or Korean theme 😌 but it also reflects or alludes to the dynamics of Levi and Mikasa. Kind of like yin and yang, working together and balancing each other out.

Mikasa is like the light that shines upon Levi's demons, showing him that taking chances is still worthwhile with somebody to look out for and care for. While Levi is like a shadow, working and supporting Mikasa whether or not from behind the scenes, and always has her back. 💙🥰

Of course, there’s also a compelling female villain (Eros, Goddess of Chaos) and a strong, feminine female lead-- y’know, grit and grace-- with real autonomy and agency (Marina). Even the “handsome prince” is not a stereotype, but a deconstruction of toxic masculinity. The bromance and charming ensemble cast. The gorgeous scenery. Oh, how I could go on and on.

And, you can really see why this was one of the most expensive films to make of all time. It’s breathtakingly beautiful. Lastly, I know SW is inundating everything now, but I’m sorry not sorry, let’s keep being anti-Imperialist, anti-fascist, yeah?

Some things to add:

After re-reading my post, I felt the need to make a clarificatory addendum. Lol. Just to clarify, the AOT contents of the Da Vinci magazine appear to be completely different and separate from the soon-to-be released official character guidebook/encyclopedia that was mentioned in the article I read. Da Vinci is published by Kadokawa, whereas all official guidebooks as of present date have been published by Kodansha.

I'm sorry if this is redundant. I just wanted to clear things up because I realized that the structuring of the first part of my previous post was kinda messy and could confuse readers. Haha. ✌

Anyway, like I mentioned before, I don't know how "canon" the Da Vinci stuff is going to be. I haven't been able to find a source that says that the AOT/SNK contents that will be published by Da Vinci originated from Isayama-sensei. So, the Eren and Mikasa love comedy scenes and the Levi and Mikasa quotes compilations that Da Vinci will publish may or may not be from the author himself. The fact that Da Vinci is published by Kadokawa and not by Kodansha kinda makes me doubt the "canon-ness" of the magazine's AOT contents. I guess we'll find out sooner or later if Isayama-sensei himself really is the source of the stuff that Da Vinci will publish.

In any case, the one that I'm looking forward to is the OFFICIAL character guidebook/encyclopedia that will be released on June 9. I don't know if Kodansha will be the one to publish it. (Although, I think that it will be the one to do so.) But regardless, I'm still holding on to the tiny sliver of hope that RivaMika might become canon through the contents of the guidebook.

As for the new character mentioned in that article, I guess we'll just have to wait until the reprint is out to see if there really will be one. I just suddenly remembered that not all manga-related info found in articles are accurate. But if there will be one, let's hope that it's an Ackerbaby. Haha.

Anyway, that’s all for now. I guess we’ll just have to wait and see what we’ll get this coming June. Regardless of what happens, joining the RM fandom has been a fun experience! Furthermore, we’ll always have fanfics and the power of imagination in the worst-case scenario. Hahaha.

After The... Year 2020

If you’re reading this, then I’m glad you survive the year of the naughty Rat! Kidding aside, I just want to post something like my sentiments, gratefulness, and any other kind of shits I forgot to mention. 

This pandemic had made me use tumblr again, fortunately, and it was a little lonely to begin with. But I’m thankful to my first virtual friends: @drblack87 and @jinchantallee for giving me a warm head start!

Of course, people I want to mention here are my co-fellow RivaMika shippers. (I created this blog because of my obvious obsession for Levi and I’m just a trash for RivaMika) So thank you: @levi4mikasa @kuruus @orenochoko @lenok993 @jvanie @levi-is-heicho @levimikasa @rivamika-trash for making my feed slurping up with an awesome quality content of RivaMika. 

Another one is that never in my life I could fucking write out of boredom. I seriously have no idea at first how you guys (kind of like it?) the fanfics I’ve written, but really... Your supports made me whole. Every comments, kudos, reblogs, hearts, and just even by trying to look a piece of it, my heartfelt THANK YOU. Number one is @dewipersikkk YES YOU! The poor girl hid inside her closet, afraid that the man would pursue her and hurt her yet again.

It was raining really hard outside. (F/N) was scared. All of a sudden, a flash of blinding light streaked across the desolate, dark sky, followed by a very loud explosion - like sound. The girl cried, covering both her ears as if to shield herself from the menace of the storm. From thoughts of the one thing she once adored, but now feared.

She wiped her tears with her torn sleeves. She gathered what was left of her once pure white skirts and tried to cover her skinny legs to protect her from the cold. She placed her palm on her face. She winced. The awful pain came from a very ugly bruise which was beginning to form on her left cheek.

She looked at her hands. They were blood - stained.

The lightning and thunder invaded the sky once again.

(F/N) fervently prayed to God to wake her up from this nightmare.

Lots of attention on Mikasa but the other character definitely looks like Levi. The hair part, the white turtleneck that is reminiscent of a cravat, the dark olive greenish jacket… 🤍

I loved the playfulness between Levi and Mikasa during training — it’s something we don’t often get to see (because, you know, sparring sessions usually get steamy HEH).

I imagine they enjoy sparring with each other to the point where it can get playful like this. Then Erwin and Hange drop by to observe their session and are just caught in complete shock seeing Levi turn into a different person around Mikasa — smiling, playful, all of that. Levi’s face would go to a cold angry front again when he catches sight of them smugly smiling at him 😂

I also imagine Levi would be the only one Mikasa could playfully fight with and vice versa lol. Others would get hurt or be too on edge practicing against the strongest but with each other they can just enjoy combat for combat's sake hehe. I LOVE RIVAMIKA

Someone go write a fluffy sparring session one-shot because I don't have time to try my hand at it!

1. Attack on Titan: Mikasa Ackerman

She was the fist character I loved from SnK. She has the "fight like a girl" feels, her background history is sad and well written, which made me sympathize with her. After reading a lot of Mikasa's metas from Tumblr, I'm definitively in love with her.

2. Death Note: L Lawliet

Although we don't know about his past, one thing that I like in L is that he wants to make justice. The justice that even the bad people deserves.

3. Inuyasha: Kagura

I really like the development Kagura got in the history, from a antagonist who just follows Naraku's order to a person who was fighting for her freedom.

4. Noragami: Yukine

From this anime, Yukine and Bishamon are the ones with the more interesting past in my opinion. I wish we could learn more from Yukine's one, we know he was a good spirit with a sad history, but we don't know why and I'm really curious about it.

5. Bleach: Rukia Kuchiki

I started to watch Bleach now, and for a while Rukia is my favorite character ;)
