How Profitability Control Intelligence Helps Logistics Companies Stay Profitable
Running a logistics company is all about precision, not just in moving goods but also in managing costs and ensuring profitability. One small oversight in a quote or an unexpected expense during job execution can eat into margins. That's exactly why we built Profitability Control Intelligence into QuickMove’s logistics software.
Here’s a closer look at how it works — and why it matters.
Profit Starts at the Quotation Stage
With QuickMove, you can set an Estimated Gross Profit (EGP) when you create a quote. This isn’t just a rough guess — it’s a benchmark that stays with the job all the way through completion.
Once the EGP is locked in:
Accounts can’t raise an invoice for an amount higher than the quote without approval.
Expenses have to stay within the provisional costs that were estimated at the beginning.
In simple terms, this keeps the financial plan tight and under control — no unpleasant surprises when the job closes.
Flexibility When It’s Needed
Of course, logistics isn’t a one-size-fits-all business. There are times when you might need to close a job with a lower margin or even accept a small loss — maybe to maintain a strategic relationship or handle an unexpected situation.
QuickMove gives you that flexibility. You can grant exceptions for specific jobs while keeping full visibility over why and how it happened. So profitability control doesn’t become a bottleneck — it becomes a smart safety net.
Track and Analyze Every Job
Each job or activity — like Origin Services, Destination Services, or Storage — can be categorized based on how it performed against the estimated profit:
More than EGP — Good margin, better than expected.
Equal to EGP — On target.
Less than EGP — Under target, needs review.
Loss — Critical, must be investigated.
This categorization gives you real-time visibility into which parts of your operations are consistently profitable and which ones need attention. Instead of waiting for the end of the month to realize something went wrong, you can fix issues early.
Why This Matters for Your Logistics Business
When you have a strong handle on profitability at the activity level, you can:
Quote smarter for future jobs.
Make data-driven decisions about vendor partnerships.
Identify operational bottlenecks before they become costly.
Strengthen your cash flow and long-term profitability.
In short, logistics job profitability tracking isn’t just about protecting the bottom line — it’s about building a business that can scale without financial blind spots.
Profitability Control Intelligence is one of the ways QuickMove helps logistics companies move smarter, not just faster. If you're looking for logistics software with real profitability control, let’s talk. We'd love to show you how it works in action.

Boost Retention and Loyalty: By building stronger, more personalized connections, businesses can improve customer loyalty, ensuring long-term relationships and repeat business.
2. Better Communication Across Teams
In the fast-paced world of freight and logistics, miscommunication can lead to costly mistakes, delays, and customer dissatisfaction. CRM software improves internal communication by enabling seamless information sharing across departments. Whether it's the operations team, sales department, or customer service agents, everyone can access the same up-to-date information. This results in:
Real-Time Updates: Internal teams stay informed about shipment statuses, delivery times, and any issues that arise.
Collaboration: A shared CRM platform helps all departments work in sync to address issues promptly and ensure that customer expectations are met.
Efficient Decision-Making: With all data centralized, teams can make informed decisions based on real-time insights, ensuring faster resolutions and smoother operations.
3. Efficient Data Management
In logistics, data is abundant, ranging from shipment details and delivery times to inventory levels and customer preferences. Managing all this data manually or across different systems can be cumbersome and prone to errors. CRM software centralizes all this data into a single platform, allowing for:
Centralized Data Repository: All customer and shipment-related information is stored in one place, making it easy for teams to access and manage.
Automation of Tasks: Routine tasks such as tracking shipments, sending out notifications, and generating reports are automated, saving time and reducing the chance of human error.
Enhanced Accuracy: With data in a single, unified system, the chances of errors or outdated information are minimized, resulting in higher levels of operational accuracy.
4. Increased Operational Efficiency
The logistics industry deals with time-sensitive operations, so efficiency is crucial. CRM software helps businesses streamline and optimize their operations by automating tasks, reducing paperwork, and improving coordination. Benefits include:
Faster Order Processing: By automating scheduling, invoicing, and order management, CRM software helps businesses fulfill orders quicker, reducing lead times and improving delivery efficiency.
Improved Documentation Management: With digital storage and tracking capabilities, CRM systems help businesses manage complex documentation such as bills of lading, customs papers, and delivery receipts.
Better Resource Allocation: CRM tools can help optimize the use of resources (e.g., vehicles, warehouses, and personnel) by providing insights into inventory levels, delivery schedules, and capacity needs.
5. Analytics and Reporting
One of the most powerful features of CRM software is its analytics and reporting capabilities. By tracking key performance indicators (KPIs), businesses can gain insights into their operations and identify areas for improvement. Some ways analytics can help include:
Performance Tracking: CRM systems can track metrics like delivery time, order accuracy, and customer satisfaction, helping businesses assess their performance.
Predictive Analytics: Advanced CRM systems use historical data to predict trends, such as when demand spikes or when routes need adjustments.
Customizable Reports: Companies can generate customized reports on various aspects of their operations, allowing decision-makers to stay on top of operational trends and optimize performance.

oh my god i don't speak to my dad anymore cuz hes nutty but i know what he does for a living
and musk is currently pulling a "the software govs use is 50 years old which means there can be no advances"
and that's..... that's what my dad does for a living, he gets paid 500-1k an hour to make software that specifically communicates with old legacy software cause he's a 90s dev who knows the old languages still and it's more efficient to hire a freak who knows how to make something to bridge between the old and new programs than to fully trash the old system
like there's literally consultants that get hired for that specific purpose and as a software guy musk KNOWS this
