Camping Trip at Mt. Kibalabag
Hello guys,
I know its been a very long hiatus for me to start blogging again in this precious website. I’ve shared a lot of memories here and I’m glad that through the years this website has been always there. So just like the old times, I’ll be sharing one of my recent activities despite the pandemic.
Last month, the hospital where i was moonlighting/currently working planned a camping trip to one of Bukidnon’s Mountains. Fortunately, the owner of the hospital owned a rest house on the area where we could stay overnight. After a week of planning what to bring, where to go and etc, the trip finally took off.
We were headed to Mount Kibalabag at Barangay Kibalabag, Malaybalay City, Bukidnon. https://goo.gl/maps/Y57GKPhp1nakZmDP7
We rode a van from Valencia to Malaybalay for 30mins, then another 30mins from Malaybalay to another Barangay (I forgot the name). We were about to cross a river with our van, unfortunately the heavy rain last night made it impossible for the van to cross since the water is knee deep. Our plan B was to rent “habal-habal” or motorcycles to the place where we’ll stay. So one by one we were picked up by motorcycle drivers and they drove us to a magnificent view of Kibalabag. Kibalabag is covered with mountains and it was so surreal that it felt like I was in New Zealand.

Arriving at the place, we then settled our tents and arranged our things. We then also proceeded to preparing our dinner.

After dinner we had small chit chats and decided to sleep early since we’ll be waking up at 5am to start our adventure.

The next morning we prepared corned beef, scrambled eggs and dried fish to complete our pinoy style breakfast.

PS: Safety protocols were followed prior to this trip, we made sure everyone was in good condition/health. Secured our medical certificated just in case checkpoints need them. And we all wore our mask and sanitize our hands at all times.

I think one of my favorite feelings is laughing with my friends and realizing half way through how much I enjoy them and their existence. (at Project Paella) https://www.instagram.com/p/Byb-TLpACQvkGTqygVslE1fHEZ5gbQn41jwqn40/?igshid=30ad9avhr8gm

So these are my lifesavers in school… I know people tend to buy lots of highlighters, pens or whatever but for myself I keep or buy my pens according to necessity. As much as I would like to be a pen hoarder, but I tend to minimize. If one pen gets used up, I would just buy another one until it lasts. So here they are, according to how I use them. Maybe I’d add Muji pens soon.
(1) Mongol 2 pencil: In the Philippines, we use the scantron paper for our exams, and we are required to use this brand and this particular number. They said the scantron machine reads your shaded answers better with this one and they tend to miss if you use any other brand or number. You wouldn’t want to waste your answers and fail thus, follow the rules haha (2) Pilot point Friction Pen: I use this for my MOVING EXAMS, it’s the type of exam where we have different stations and each has a microscope that we have to look into and identify the tissue or cell in it on a limited time and then we are told to move on the next station plus our professor had this rule of “no erasures” , with this situation where erasures cannot be avoided, cause you can’t think straight, voila! friction pen saves the day! (3) Pilot ballpoint pen: used during normal exams, basically pen and paper type. And really useful if you don’t want smudging. (4) Pilot G-Tec: My ever favorite pen, I never get tired of taking notes whenever I use this pen. It tends to make my handwriting better. And I mean it, I get praised for good handwriting when using my Gtec. (5) Sharpie Fluo XL: I got frustrated once when my highlighter was easily dehydrated haha, yep no more ink for my lengthy chapters to read on. Thus I bought a big one and I wasn’t expecting it would be for big fonts too. (6) Stabilo Cool Swing: I used to have Sharpie highlighter pens, but Stabilo is way cheaper. And It doesn’t dissapoint me so far. (7) Stabilo point 88 (2): Are also my favorites, they are handy for my sidenotes. And when the fonts are too small. I like them for having my favorite color too!

I have 6 exams, 2 case presentation, 1 moving exam on general pathology neoplastic cells, 3 homeworks, and 2 new topics with more than a hundred pages each that I to read in advance...and all of these are for next week. Currently, I'm reading this General Pathology book about Neoplasia for our exam. I've been reading since morning and I just took this picture by sunset and still halfway. That's how I am on my weekends. Medicine is fun!
