London Health Hacks: Stay Fit and Energized on Your Journey
Tumblr media
London equals hustle-bustle. It's easy to get caught up in the daily routine and let your health be sidelined especially when you're residing at the Grand Plaza Apartments Hyde Park.. Many of us spend most of our hours sitting at office desks and rest by commuting in crowded trains.
Are you stuck in a cycle where you keep telling yourself that tomorrow is the day you will begin taking care of your physical and mental well-being, only to find that tomorrow never really arrives?
And of course, you blame it on London’s weather. Another excuse.
One important lesson from the pandemic is that our health is invaluable, and we must be mindful of what we consume. What may seem like just one beer to you can have a different impact on your liver. Similarly, scrolling through your phone may feel relaxing, but it can be damaging to your brain.
Let's change the perspective.
We have made a list of enjoyable and healthy hacks. And hey! It is for both your physical and mental well-being.
Uplifting Your Physical Well-Being:
The good news is that London's vibrant and diverse atmosphere offers numerous opportunities to stay active and prioritize your well-being, even while staying at the hotel apartments in Hyde Park. In this section, we'll explore three fantastic ways to keep your body moving and make the most of London's eclectic environment.
1. Cycling Conveniently in the Heart of London:
If you're thinking about riding a bike in the busy heart of London, you might have heard some scary stories about it. Cycling in the city can indeed be a bit riskier compared to other places, but let's look at the facts—it's quite safe.
Cycling to work in London can save you money and help you avoid the crowded and sweaty Tube. It is good for your health. It can make your heart stronger and even boost your mood. London is mostly flat, so it's not too hard to get around on a bike, no matter how fit you are.
2. Jogging around the City:
Running in London is not only a fantastic way to stay active but also an excellent way to explore the city's iconic landmarks and green spaces. Here's more about running in some of London's most popular areas:
1. Hyde Park: This expansive park in the heart of London offers a runner's paradise with winding paths, tree-lined avenues, and the serene Serpentine Lake. You can choose from various running routes based on your preference, whether it's a casual jog or a more challenging long run.
2. Regent's Park: Known for its well-maintained pathways and open spaces, Regent's Park is a favorite among runners. The Inner Circle, Outer Circle, and the paths around the picturesque boating lake are popular running routes.
3. Thames River Path: Running along the Thames River provides an ever-changing and scenic backdrop. The path takes you past famous landmarks like the London Eye, Tower Bridge, and the Shard. It's a delightful way to enjoy the city's iconic skyline while staying active.
3. Kayaking and Paddleboarding for Thrill:
If you have no fear of water, this sport is an ideal choice. It not only connects you with nature but also provides opportunities to socialize with others. Exploring London from the Thames River through kayaking and paddleboarding offers not only a unique perspective of the city but also various health benefits. Here's more about it:
Routes and Clubs:
Thames River Routes: Paddlers can explore several routes along the Thames River. It includes central routes passing famous landmarks and more tranquil stretches in the suburbs.
London Kayak Tours: Many tour operators and clubs in London have guided tours and equipment rentals. These are great for beginners and tourists looking to be immersed in London's waterways safely.
London Kayak Company: This club organizes guided tours, events, and social paddles. It helps you to meet many enthusiasts and explore the city.
Bishop's Park Kayak Club: It is located on the Thames. They have lessons and guided tours to experience the river in a safe way.
Now that we have explored physical health choices, let us look at the options for mental well-being.
Uplifting Your Mental Well-Being:
1. Meditation and Mindfulness in London:
Meditation and mindfulness have become increasingly popular in London as effective ways to improve mental well-being. Here's more about them and their mental benefits, a peaceful complement to your stay at serviced apartments london for families.
Meditation Sessions: Many parks allow you to find inner peace in the city's hustle and bustle. Here are the options:
Yoga Studios: London boasts numerous yoga studios that incorporate meditation and mindfulness into their classes. Practicing yoga can enhance your flexibility, strength, and mental clarity. Studios like Triyoga and The Life Centre offer classes suitable for beginners and experienced practitioners.
Meditation Centers: Dedicated meditation centres, such as the London Buddhist Centre, provide a space for mindfulness and meditation practice. These centres offer a supportive environment for both newcomers and those with prior experience.
2. Libraries - Peaceful Place:
In the bustling heart of London, amid the noise and activity of city life, you'll find sanctuaries of quiet contemplation and knowledge—the iconic libraries. Two such gems are the British Library and the Wellcome Collection's Reading Room. Here's a closer look at what they offer, a serene escape from the vibrant Serviced Apartment Hotel bayswater:
British Library: This library is famous for its stunning building and a massive collection of books, papers, and old stuff that tell us about human thoughts and discoveries over many years. You can come here, find a comfy spot, read a book, or do some research. It's a peaceful place that helps you focus and learn interesting things.
Wellcome Collection's Reading Room: This special place is part of the Wellcome Collection. It has not only books but also things about health, science, and how humans experience life. You can explore topics that are important to you in a quiet space. It's a place to read, study, or think deeply.
The National Art Library: Located within the Victoria and Albert Museum, this library houses a vast collection of art-related books, manuscripts, and prints. It's a serene place to research, sketch, or find inspiration amidst world-class art.
Senate House Library: Part of the University of London, this library boasts a stunning Art Deco building. It's open to the public and offers an extensive collection of academic resources, making it an ideal spot for research and study.
Maughan Library: Situated within King's College London, the Maughan Library is renowned for its historic architecture and extensive book collection. It's open to the public and provides a peaceful setting for reading and study.
3. Art and Museums:
Explore London's world-class art galleries and museums, such as the Tate Modern and British Museum, for a dose of culture and creativity that can uplift your spirits.
Art Appreciation: Spend time contemplating and appreciating the artworks on display. Reflect on the emotions, stories, and techniques conveyed by each piece. Consider keeping a journal of your thoughts and feelings.
Quiet Reflection: Many museums and galleries have designated spaces for quiet reflection. Take advantage of these areas to sit, meditate, or simply enjoy a moment of solitude amidst the art.
Guided Tours: Join guided tours or exhibitions led by experts. These tours can provide valuable insights into the art and historical context, enhancing your understanding and appreciation.
Art Creation: Some museums offer workshops or classes where you can engage in hands-on art creation. Participating in such activities can be therapeutic and allow you to express yourself artistically.
Conclusion:
In London, there are many options to stay healthy and happy. It's all about finding what you enjoy the most. Whether it's running in a park or exploring a museum, London has something for everyone to feel good physically and mentally.
So get up because yesterday, you said tomorrow!

we're highlighting Dorabji Pestonji Cama. He was born into the affluent Cama family of Parsi merchants in Mumbai in 1833. His family came to London to set up Europe's first Indian-owned trading company, Cama and Co. Dorabji was initiated in Lodge Courage with Humanity in Calcutta in 1869 and, when he came to London to work in the family business, he joined Marquis of Dalhousie Lodge, serving as Worshipful Master. He continued to rise through the ranks, becoming Provincial Grand Director of Ceremonies and Provincial Grand Sword Bearer for Middlesex. He then won an election to serve as Grand Treasurer of the United Grand Lodge of England and was the first Indian born Grand Officer. #SouthAsianHeritage #Freemasons #Freemasonry #Calcutta #India #IndiaHistory #LondonMuseum #MuseumFreemasonry https://www.instagram.com/p/CgicLyMrLN3/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=
