Since 2007, Bombardier has been producing the upgraded CRJ900 NextGen, which featured modernized cockpit equipment, a 5.5% improvement in fuel efficiency compared to the base model, and an enhanced cabin interior. MY FLIGHT JOURNEY WITH LUFTHANSA AIRLINES

I arrived in Poland last week, a decision I didn’t make lightly. I had to think thoroughly about why I decided to go back and what new lessons, mistakes and opportunities God had in store for me. My travel journeys are something else and not for the faint-hearted.

If it’s for the people who played a crucial role in my life, then the answer is obvious. If it was for the country itself, the answer is no. The question: Do I leave my Polish chapter open or do I close it unhesitatingly? The question remains unanswered.

Allow me to elaborate on one of the most memorable flight experiences from South Africa, to Germany, to Poland, and my first flight experience with the largest German airline, Lufthansa.

*Departure Cape Town, South Africa to Munich, Germany:

Immigrant officer: “You’re going into the cold, are you sure you want to leave sunny Cape Town?” I was already covered in warm black clothing, accompanied by stockings, loafers and my thick beige coat.

Boarding my flight, apart from being in the wrong row and seat (I swear things like this only happens to me and every other over thinker.) I had the friendliest flight hostess assure me that being in the wrong seat won’t be a problem at all. She was looking for me though because I had vegan meals throughout my journey. I had about 3 polite flight attendants who had been awfully kind!

‘Can I get you anything? Let me show you how to open the toilet door, are you warm?’

‘Are you sure sure you don’t want anything to drink?’ This happens when you do not want to pay for unnecessary foods or drinks because in my head I’m already calculating euros vs ZAR and that alone is multiplied by 17. We spend money on Italian pizza, not flight beverages and snacks.

I’m sure they have been extremely polite to all passengers or perhaps they really love their jobs? Within the 11-hour flight journey, I watched two movies, one Italian and one Egyptian. Cultural movies are highly underrated or perhaps it’s my obsession with living abroad since the age of adolescence. I wish I got bumped to first class though as almost all the seats were empty. And if you don’t ask, the answer will always be no. I didn’t ask.

Alas, I had to remember that my row was empty too! And that gratification had to take place. Great seats. Great space. Friendly faces -I’m sure sunny Cape Town had something to do with it. And I got to see a really cute baby who had the purest laugh. I couldn’t take my eyes off him.

*Arriving in Germany:

Time to jump on a shuttle to my terminal. Munich’s airport is on steroids, beautifully. And I get awfully anxious when it comes to jumping on trains, catching the next connecting flight through signage boards, terminals and escalators.

The immigration control officer gave me the giggles and let me tell you why. I couldn’t tell if he was flirting or if he was genuinely just a kind human with a really great smile. I’m in a metaphorical stage and I’m vulnerable, why would he flirt in the first place right? I’ll assume that he was the nicest immigration officer apart from the one I had in Spain. Oh boy, that’s a story for another day.

*Collects passport and residency card*

The dialogue:

Officer: Wow, you look so different.

Lee: Oh, yes, I just had all my hair shaved off.

Officer: What a great change. But now I need to analyze you and your actual photo on your residency card.

Lee: (Chuckles, politely removing my spectacles and neck scarf.)

Officer: I had to make a few changes myself

Lee: Well you know, some things are meant to be done. Change is essential.

Officer: Change is good. You’re free to go Ms Kimberly (he leaves behind soft smiles, not to be easily forgotten.)

Lee: (Chuckles again) goodbye.

For the very first time, this vibrational conversation took place through this tiny window. I couldn’t tell anyone about it, it just wouldn’t do the moment any justice and sharing what I had experienced wouldn’t be appreciated nor held onto.

Next stop.

*Flight from Germany to Kraków, Poland:

Wrong row again. I’m clearly tired. My focus is on zero. I need the brute sleep of a mummy. Or an actual Zanzibar oceanic holiday away. I had a small encounter with a Pole, I take notes on people’s English. I appreciated his.

Polish man: Is this row 14 or 15?

Lee: It’s row 14 isn’t it?

Polish man: Uhm, well, it looks like you’re in my seat.

Lee: Awkwardly moving to the correct seat.

Yes we held up the queue, because it took me 5 min to register that I need to actually move, thinking about a 1000 other things and the people just blankly staring at us. Confusion, fatigued, all in all it is after 11pm. We’re all hanging.

Destination has been reached. I am welcomed with open arms and pink tulips. Another day to be grateful. Another day to be cherished. Another day to be cold.

Lufthansa Economy Class, Boeing 747-8

Ulasan penerbangan Kelas Ekonomi Lufthansa dari Frankfurt ke Los Angeles ini adalah angsuran terakhir dari perjalanan saya ke Maroko dengan G Adventures. Tidak ada manfaat atau tunjangan yang disediakan untuk penumpang kelas ekonomi, tetapi anggota Star Alliance Gold diberikan akses ke Senator Lufthansa dan Kelas Bisnis. Lufthansa Senator Lounge di Concourse Z adalah favorit saya dari semua lounge Lufthansa (minus First Class Lounge / Terminal) dan selalu layak dikunjungi sebelum keberangkatan. Saya meninggalkan Lufthansa Senator Lounge sekitar 10 menit sebelum waktu naik dan menuju ke gerbang Z69. Asrama belum disebut tetapi orang sudah berbaris di jalur masing-masing. Saya mengambil beberapa foto wanita cantik itu dan kemudian berbaris dengan penumpang kelas bisnis / Star Alliance Gold lainnya. Asrama untuk penerbangan pukul 02:05 kami dimulai sekitar pukul 1:30 siang. Penumpang kelas satu naik melalui pintu 1L dan yang lainnya naik melalui pintu 2L

Tidak seperti pesawat lain dalam armada mereka, Lufthansa's Boeing 747-8s dikonfigurasikan sedikit tidak biasa. Kelas pertama secara alami terletak di bagian paling depan, diikuti oleh kelas bisnis. Namun, di belakang kabin kelas bisnis, ada kabin kelas ekonomi kecil yang terletak di depan kabin kelas ekonomi premium. Kabin kelas ekonomi mini sangat pribadi dengan hanya empat baris kursi dalam tata ruang 3-4-3 dan dilindungi oleh dinding sekat.

Karena kabin kelas ekonomi mini, ada kabin yang lebih besar dengan kelas ekonomi premium dan tempat duduk kelas ekonomi. Sebagai hiburan, sistem hiburan Dunia Lufthansa dipenuhi dengan pilihan film-film Hollywood, Eropa dan India / Bollywood, acara TV, video game dan hiburan musik yang layak. At just 112 EUR for their night it was a real find. It even included the optimum breakfast I had in 2017. Highly recommended, even by Gilles De Coster ! 😉

Picture by Zannier Hotel chains An exciting most expensive hotel stay coming from all 2017, but also one of the best township hotels I have ever devoted at. The brand new 1898 The Post hotel in Ghent. When i paid 255 EUR (excl. breakfast) for a ‘ A Letter ‘ living area. The service, the attention designed for detail, the setting, bicycles and the breakfast on bed clothes made the high rate much more than justifiable. Highly recommended for a very romantic getaway!

3. Aiguille qui hérite du Midi

In February, outrageous vertical ascent cable vehicles in the world (1035m to 3842m) transported me the top concerning Aiguille du Mi-journée , a mountain involved in the French Mont Blanc lourd. Even with a temperature as to -10ºC / 14°F, this became a fantastic experience thanks to the sunlit weather with no wind anyway.

Corona crisis: Lufthansa shrinks, to decommission 18 four-engine legends - Times of India

NEW DELHI: Anticipating a significant decline in demand for travel in a post-corona world, German major Lufthansa has gone in for its first permanent capacity reduction. On Tuesday, the airline’s board decided to permanently decommission six Airbus A380s, seven A340-600s and five Boeing 747-400s, apart from withdrawing 11 A320s from short-haul operations. According to Lufthansa’s website the airline Group, including airlines like Swiss, Austrian and Brussels Airlines, had 763 aircraft as on December 31, 2019. On a standalone basis, Lufthansa has 364 aircraft. The decision means six of the 14 A380s; seven of the 34 A340s and five out of the 32 B747s are being decommissioned, representing a 22.5% reduction of Lufthansa’s four-engine fleet.

It will take months until the global travel restrictions are completely lifted and years until the worldwide demand for air travel returns to pre-crisis levels, the Lufthansa board estimated following which it decided on extensive measures to reduce flight operations. The decisions will affect almost all flight operations of the Lufthansa Group.

(Lufthansa Airbus A340) “The six A380s were already scheduled for sale to Airbus in 2022. The decision to phase out seven A340-600s and five Boeing 747-400s was taken based on the environmental as well as economic disadvantages of these aircraft types. With this decision, Lufthansa will be reducing capacity at its hubs in Frankfurt and Munich,” the Group said in a statement.

(Lufthansa Boeing 747-400) The restructuring programs at Austrian Airlines and Brussels Airlines, with both these Lufthansa group airlines working on reducing their fleets. Swiss will also adjust its fleet size by delaying deliveries of new short haul aircraft and considering early phase-outs of older aircraft. In addition, the Lufthansa Group airlines have already terminated almost all wet lease agreements with other airlines. The implementation of Eurowings objective of bundling flight operations into only one unit is being accelerated. Germanwings flight operations will be discontinued. “The aim remains the same for all employees affected by the restructuring measures: to offer as many people as possible continued employment within the Lufthansa Group. Therefore, talks with unions and workers councils are to be arranged quickly to discuss, among other things, new employment models in order to keep as many jobs as possible,” Lufthansa Group statement said.

有機會搭乘頭等艙的時候，除了享受機上的服務與餐點之外，另一個讓我也很期待的，就是體驗航空公司的頭等艙貴賓室！一般來說，航空公司為了給予搭乘頭等艙，或是擁有最高階會籍的旅客，在上飛機前能夠有一個美好的體驗，都會在機場設置頭等艙貴賓室，讓這些貴賓們使用。因此，不但是頭等艙本身值得體驗，有時頭等艙貴賓室也是一個絕對不能錯過的地方！就讓我用這篇文章，來分享幾個我認為絕對不能錯過的頭等艙貴賓室，希望各位讀者們，未來有機會造訪的時候，絕對要多留一些時間好好體驗體驗。

(1) 漢莎航空 (Lufthansa) 法蘭克福機場 (FRA) 頭等艙航廈 (First Class Terminal)

我們的奢華特約作家Kacy，在她的體驗文中有提到過，漢莎航空是世界上少數有專屬給予頭等艙乘客一個專用航廈的航空公司。在這個頭等艙航廈內，不但有專人幫你打理Check-In，或是護照查驗的服務，另外還可以享受現點現做的美味餐點，一個有床鋪可以好好休息的小房間，甚至還有搭乘名貴轎車／休旅車，直接前往登機的尊榮服務，小弟認為真的是一定要體驗一次，才有不枉此生的感覺啊！（只能看Kacy的文章羨慕…）

(2) 卡達航空 (Qatar Airways) 多哈機場 (DOH) 頭等艙貴賓室

卡達航空位於主場－多哈機場的頭等艙貴賓室 (Al Safwa First Class Lounge)，大概是我看過最奢華，最霸氣，空間也是最大的貴賓室。小弟有幸去體驗過一次，除了有數不完的座椅，現點現做的餐點，以及眾多可以打發時間的設施之外，還有一個最多可以使用六小時的小房間，躺在床上舒服的睡覺，以及按摩與泡澡服務（要付費）。感覺在裡面，真的待在久都不會膩…小弟真心建議有機會的話，各位讀者們一定要來嘗試體驗一下！

(3) 國泰航空 (Cathay Pacific) 香港機場 (HKG) 頭等艙貴賓室

國泰航空位於香港機場的頭等艙貴賓室，一共有兩個，一個在玉衡堂 (The Pier) 貴賓室的樓上，一個則是在寰宇堂 (The Wing) 貴賓室的樓上。相信這兩邊的貴賓室，可能不少讀者們都體驗過，TripPlus的作者群們當然也是囉（其實小弟還沒有…太小資惹 QQ）！不管是我們首席奢華旅遊專欄作家Sharon的體驗，或是我們奢華旅遊特約作家Kacy的體驗，都讓人看了沒有不想去的意圖！在裡面可以安心的泡澡，吃飯，休息，腳底按摩等等，絕對是每個喜愛體驗頭等艙的旅客，絕對要去朝聖的一個貴賓室。

(4) 阿聯酋航空 (Emirates) 杜拜機場 (DXB) 頭等艙貴賓室

說到中東的土豪航空，怎麼能夠忘記最有奢華風的阿聯酋航空呢？小弟之前有幸造訪阿聯酋航空位於主場－杜拜機場的頭等艙貴賓室，整個頭等艙貴賓室，佔據了航廈內一整層樓的空間！可以想像這個頭等艙貴賓室有多大了。雖然挑高部分不如卡達航空，但是裡面的設施應有盡有，想要逛街？有免稅商品店面，想要按摩？有免費15分鐘的按摩服務，想要好好坐下來吃個飯？有現點現做的餐點可供選擇，想要好好地躺著休息一下？雖然沒有床鋪與小房間，但是也有一間＂Quiet Room＂，讓頭等艙的旅客可以好好休息，臨時有公事要辦？也有一間很大的會議室提供使用。加上裝潢華麗又霸氣，阿聯酋航空頭等艙貴賓室的豪奢，絕對要親身見識過一次才行！

(5) 澳洲航空 (Qantas) 雪梨機場 (SYD) 頭等艙貴賓室

這個也許比較少人聽過，但其實澳洲航空位於雪梨機場的頭等艙貴賓室，也是一個非常值得體驗的貴賓室喔！知名設計師設計的貴賓室內部裝潢，還可享用名廚Neil Perry所製備的餐點（他也是同時製作澳洲航空頭等艙餐食的廚師），以及免費的20分鐘按摩，還有和藹可親，笑容可掬的澳洲航空貴賓室服務人員，這裡也絕對是身為頭等艙貴賓室體驗蒐集控們，絕對不可錯過的地方之一！由於小弟與其他作者群們都沒有體驗過，所以只好以網路上找到的照片，來向各位讀者們分享囉～
