Actually, that fits with my headcanon that there is one (1) thing that The Mario Brothers argue about semi-regularly, and that's cooking.

They are both really good at cooking and baking, but they both have very different methods in the ways they approach a recipe and maintain the kitchen. If one is cooking, the other brother has to be either out of the room or engrossed in their own separate recipe, otherwise backseat baking will ensue.

So if there was one subject to bring up if they needed to have a performative yet believable fight, it'd be that one time Mario screwed up the cannolis.
