The garage and bedroom wing are maintained in the original location, while a new 2 level steel framed structure replaces the original western wing.
8 Feb 2021 Dodds House Design: Ian Moore Architects photograph © Daniel Mayne Dodds House This restoration of a one-bedroom house designed by Ian Moore in 1998 and completed in 2001, which had been unsympathetically altered by a previous owner.

Mosman House by Rolf Ockert Design

From the architect. Seen from the street the house appears minimal.
Set on a large block falling towards the harbour beach reserve many layers of living spaces are revealed as one progresses through the house.
Private rooms, sauna and gym are housed in the southern pavilion, opened to natural air and light via a landscaped courtyard, also revealing some of the rock all…

By the Bay is a project designed by Hobbs Jamieson Architecture. Completed in collaboration with Salt Building Design, this project involved the ‘stage 2’ conversion of a humble beach shack on the shores of Jervis Bay. The brief was to work with Salt to design the main part of the home in line with the architectural style of the previously completed guest wing. Photography by Luke Butterly.
#gallery-0-6 { margin: auto; } #gallery-0-6 .gallery-item { float: left; margin-top: 10px; text-align: center; width: 25%; } #gallery-0-6 img { border: 2px solid #cfcfcf; } #gallery-0-6 .gallery-caption { margin-left: 0; } /* see gallery_shortcode() in wp-includes/media.php */
Our focus concentrated on planning improvements to make the zoning of the home more legible and to take full advantage of the fantastic light quality of the location. This approach creates a building that responds well to its context in an architectural style consistent with the current aesthetic. The result is a neatly detailed home that provides a light filled, comfortable and relaxed abode fitting for its beachside location.

Sustainable Housing Undertaking Found in Sidney
Clever architectural and design arrangement, entwinement of trendy layout pieces and vintage hints, artistic and unexpected remedies – all wrapped up in straightforward and minimalist (at very first glimpse) architectural shell – this is the modern task of Rolf Ockert Desing positioned in Sidney, Australia – in a nutshell.
And even though the facade of the residence in the direction of the street to seem minimalist and modern the spatial progression of the property in the within reviles several intriguing architectural and design and style remedies – beginning with the hallway that features a secession of sculptural copper fins that filter the light in an artistic and beautiful way.
The backyard facade, however, is considerably a lot more dynamic and innovative, dealing with a sink-in sitting zone: comfy, modern and inviting, and glass-clad swimming pool region this encounter of the house reviles its playful nature and intriguing architectural composition. Green roofs and moved balconies introduce not only sustainable and amusing interaction with the organic elements but also provide elegant design and style enjoyment.
The interior answers varies – from practical minimalism in the kitchen to dynamic combinations in between vintage and modern: like in the dramatic double height living area premise but all consist of sophisticated and luxurious components palette and artistic pieces of furnishings, lighting solutions and art. The architects had put a special work to create a home in accordance to the most recent sustainability criteria and developments such as rainwater tank, high-level insulations, reduced power lighting and minimal vitality use. Intriguing art pieces and layout aspects, uncommon architectural and layout expression all wrapped up in a contemporary shell and stylish materials: copper, concrete, and glass this is the Mosman residence – check out it out.  Photography by Luke Butterly

Henson Park House in Marrickville NSW
23 Mar, 2022
Design: Miles Thorp Architects
Location: Marrickville, New South Wales, Australia

Henson Park House, Sydney
Henson Park House is a modest rear addition to a single storey brick bungalow in Marrickville that backs onto Henson Park. The house is defined by a central courtyard that acts as a connecting corridor between new and old – simultaneously restoring daylight and ventilation to the existing spaces whilst inviting it into the new living volume.
Glazed on three sides, the courtyard doors slide away, eroding its corners and dissolving the transition from inside to out, old to new.
A simple palette of blackened and natural timber, concrete, and metal impart a distinct character to the new volume whilst still allowing it to sit comfortably behind the old federation bungalow. Constructed from prefabricated SIPS panels, the house was an investigation into the opportunities and benefits that prefabricated building techniques allowed.
