This is the memory I’ll always have of Biz. He used to come into my Apple Store in Columbia Maryland. He was quiet and kind, a gentle giant. Working at Apple the number of entitled assholes you encounter on a regular basis is innumerable, but Biz was always gracious. Whether he was coming in for a problem or a purchase he was a nice guy. Pick A Struggle

To All My Sisters In Their Feelings,

Your feelings are your feelings, but your feelings are not facts, You're just gonna have to deal with that. Institutional misogyny and sexism cannot be the cause of women alone.  Men MUST be vocal and allies. Kendrick Lamar benefits directly from this institution, and called bullshit on it for communicating indirectly to black women in particular, that somehow we are less than, not enough, not beautiful because we aren't a manufactured ideal of perfection.  In NO WAY did he communicate that women should DO anything. He simply advocated as Alicia Keys, Beyonce, Zendeya, Chrissy Teigan, and whole host of others have that the institution he currently stands at the top of needs to make some adjustments. What is the harm in that?

Seriously. He's a emcee, he doesn't have time to use all of those words I just did in a song. If you wanna be mad, be mad the radio never played Brown Skin Lady by Black Star, be mad that skilled emcees like Jean Grae and Rapsody that are exponentially more talented, don't get spins like the ladies that opt their sexuality (and there's nothing wrong with that). For real, has anyone EVER heard Jean Grae on the radio? Don't worry I'll wait.

We really have bigger fish to fry at the moment. Like why are all these black girls missing in D.C.??? Have the police stopped killing unarmed black people with no criminal repercussions? Is 45 about to tweet us into the next world war? Will we ever get another Outkast, Black Star, Little Brother album???

Being mad at Kendrick Lamar for trying to support healthy body image and self esteem shouldn't really be a thing. I'mma need my sister folk to level up their pragmatism and critical thinking. Either you want men to consider and advocate for you or you wanna be mad, but either way pick a struggle.
