Crowd Balls for JD Sports and Ibiza Rocks - Ibiza, Spain
Tumblr media
Ibiza Rocks is an event hotel situated in San Antonio on the west coast of the beautiful Balearic island and is famous for its vibrant nightlife. Home of the Ibiza Rocks music venue, the hotel hosts the biggest pool parties on the island everyday throughout the summer. This year, Ibiza Rocks teamed up with their headline fashion partner JD Sports to host an exclusive pool party. JD Sports is the UK’s leading trainer and sportswear retailer offering many limited editions and exclusive designs from global brands such as Adidas and Nike. This year’s star-studded line up for the much-loved music event featured headliner Central Cee, one of the UK’s freshest rappers, Manchester’s Meekz and new talent Amaria BB. Glow helped to add to the excitement by supplying inflatable custom branded crowd balls for the partygoers to play with in the hotel pool whilst dancing to the coolest rap and RnB sounds. Not only were the inflatable beach balls great fun but they were also a simple, cost-effective method of promoting the JD brand to their ideal customer demographic. Easily inflated, the promotional beach balls could be easily seen bobbing around in the pool and entertaining the music-loving holidaymakers. The custom-made crowd spheres were printed in baby blues and pinks to reflect the Ibiza Rocks Hotel colour scheme. Glow’s playful inflatables provided partygoers with great memories and in return the JD marketing team with some perfect photo-opportunities both of which will remain long after the summer has faded. Outside of London, which cities are contributing most to UK culture, and why?
The term ‘UK Culture’ weaves Fashion, Art, Music and more, making it what it is, so naturally there are several global influences that join forces.
Manchester is becoming a much more prominent figure in UK culture, with artists like Meekz, Bugzy Malone, Aitch and IAMDDB paving away for themselves in the music scene. There are several collectives coming out of Manchester that have become common names in the UK; Warehouse Project, TRPHSE Worldwide and Habitat with some wicked emerging DJ’s that if you don’t know get to know. Fashion brands with a cause like Drama Call, recently having donated over £26,000 to protest bail funds in support of the Black Lives Matter movement. Represent is another Manchester powerhouse brand with a lot of credibility to influence and lead UK streetwear, with luxury threads and trainers. Speaking of which, footwear brand Clints, with signature sole design is stepping firmly into the mainstream, with recent collaboration with Patta are equally influencing far outside of Manchester.
Birmingham have a seemingly underground impact, whilst being in Birmingham you feel it, but as an outsider you can easily miss the ripple effect it is having on the scene. Birmingham is a big champion for DJ’s and live performances, with heritage venues like ‘Hare and Hound’ and ‘The Jam House’ that showcase live talent. There are a number of collectives that are helping shape UK culture and providing a vessel for those within those cities; Calm International, The Collective. With some homegrown talent like Mist, M1llionz and Lady Leshur keeping Birmingham on the map.
Lagos and Accra coined together here for the impact that both cities have had on the UK music scene bringing Afrobeats into the mainstream in UK clubs and radios and the strong influences that artists have used in their beats and vocal tonation.
